Description

In einer vorteilhaften Ausgestaltung der Erfindung wertet die Erkennungseinrichtung von einer Kameraeinheit gelieferte Informationen über die Verkehrssituation aus. Dies hat den Vorteil, dass im Fahrzeug schon vorhandene Kameraeinheiten, die bisher für andere Aufgaben verwendet werden, nun auch zur Gewinnung der Informationen über den Fahrtweg dienen können. Vorfahrt gewähren!” zu verstehen. Insbesondere bei Stoppschildern ist ein kurzer Halt bzw. Stillstand des Fahrzeugs vorgeschrieben. Eine Stopp-Start-Einrichtung nach dem eingangs darstellten Stand der Technik würde bei einem solchen Halt an einem Stoppschild zum Ausschalten des Motors führen mit dem Effekt einer zusätzlichen Verzögerung oder Störung des Verkehrsflusses und einer erhöhten Belastung der Umwelt.In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, the evaluation is carried out by the detection device with regard to whether the traffic sign is a stop sign.
