Abstract
The invention describes a method for injecting a fluid into a petroleum-containing rock or earth layer by means of a suitable conduit, the conduit being introduced into the rock or soil layer, and the fluid for the purpose of increased production of petroleum from the petroleum-containing rock or earth layer is injected. The fluid is injected via the two lines 1 and 2 in the petroleum-containing rock or earth layer. Both lines 1 and 2 are approximately equidistant from the delivery line 3. From line 1, the gas stream G1 is pulsed injected into the petroleum-containing rock or earth layer. From the line 2, the gas stream G2 is also pulsed induced in the petroleum-containing rock or earth layer. Pulse lengths of approx. 20 min. Are used. The time interval between two pulses of an injection line is about 1 hour. The injected gas quantities G1 and G2 are in each case of the same order of magnitude. Due to the superimposition of the directed and pulsed gas flows G1 and G2, a resulting gas flow G3, which moves in the direction of the delivery line 3, is formed. Thus, the oil is driven in the direction of the delivery line 3 by the directional and pulsed gas streams. In this embodiment of the invention, nitrogen and carbon dioxide are alternately injected, so that the different properties of both gases can be used for crude oil production.
Description
The The invention relates to a method for injecting a fluid into a petroleum-containing rock or earth layer by means of a suitable line, with the line in the rock or earth layer is introduced, and the fluid for the purpose of increased promotion of petroleum from the petroleum-containing rock or Earth layer is injected.
Über diese Förderleitung wird das Erdöl aus der Erdöllagerstätte gewonnen.oil is typically found in oil deposits near and below the surface of the earth. From these deposits depending on the depth of the deposit in the oil Open pit mining, as in the Canadian oil sands fields, but mostly in civil engineering or by means of oil rigs, which are aiding in the middle enable in the sea, won. Mainly becomes Oil extracted in civil engineering. For this purpose, by drilling Delivery lines to the depth of the oil reservoir placed under the earth's surface. About these Production line is the oil from the oil reservoir won.
The Promotion essentially takes place in three phases. At a greater depth, the oil is below the Pressure of the buried earth layers and the possibly associated Associated gas. In the first phase can be the petroleum often without further action by the Promote self-pressure in the deposit. When easing of the autogenous pressure, the oil can with technical aids how deep pumps are revealed.
Of the Self-pressure of the oil reservoir alone is sufficient usually after a promotion of 10% to 15% of in the deposit is no longer available to the deposit Transport oil to the earth's surface. This phase of primary oil production Therefore, the phase of secondary funding closes at. In this second phase, the reservoir pressure by the injection of water, steam or gas over, by means Holes introduced into the ground, increased lines. According to the state of the art, water is usually pumped in at this stage, resulting in between 30% and 40% of the original in the deposit existing oil in place (OOIP) to the Earth surface can be promoted. The rest, remaining in the deposit, increasingly Tough and dense oil complicates another constant Advancement. More oil can only over here special processes for tertiary mineral oil production be extracted from the deposit.
Bekannt sind hierbei u. a. In This phase of oil production will be after the Prior art various fluids under pressure with suitable Lines in the vicinity or directly in the deposit pressed. Known here are u. a. heat method such as the injection of hot water or hot steam or the injection of gases such as nitrogen and carbon dioxide. carbon dioxide on the one hand increases the pressure in the deposit, on the other hand it dissolves under suitable conditions in petroleum. By dissolved in petroleum Carbon dioxide is the viscosity of petroleum clearly reduced and thus the promotion improved.
A disadvantage of the method described so far in the prior art, however, is the high consumption of fluids. For example, if gas is used in a process for tertiary mineral oil production, it usually has to be transported to the source of oil in a complex manner. An extreme example here are platforms for oil production in the sea. Should be used in such oil fields carbon dioxide for tertiary oil production, this must first brought by ship or by pipeline to the oil platform who the. In an alternative use of nitrogen for tertiary oil production on such platforms, the nitrogen would have to be generated on site, ie a small installation for air separation will be installed.
Of the The present invention is therefore based on the object, a method The type mentioned at the beginning to design such that the consumption of fluid is minimized.
The This object is achieved in that the fluid discontinuous into the petroleum-containing rock or soil layer is injected.
According to the present invention, the fluid is discontinuous in the petroleum-containing Injected rock or earth layer. D. h., According to the invention, the Fluid does not remain throughout the duration of the process to tertiary Injected crude oil production, but discontinuously only in certain phases or cycles in the petroleum-containing Injected rock or earth layer.
This application is under a discontinuous injection understood that the fluid over a given predetermined Period and this period is followed by a phase, in which no fluid is injected, which in turn is of one phase the fluid injection is followed. A discontinuous injection a gas is thus in several regular or irregular pulses or periods. Under the injection or the injection of a fluid is in the frame this application the injection or introduction of the fluid in the Petroleum-containing rock or earth layer understood.
By the discontinuous injection according to the invention The fluid can be saved in several ways fluid.
To the A fluid is saved because in the time in which no fluid injected, the already injected fluid in the petroleum-containing Rock or earth stratum expands. The expanding fluid thus forms a fluid cushion, which oil in the direction of the delivery line drives where it can be promoted. On the other hand rises after injecting the fluid, the flow rate of the fluid in the petroleum-containing rock or earth layer at. The oil dissolves from the rock or from the Earth and is further promoted with significantly less pressure. In comparative experiments it has surprisingly been found that in a discontinuous inventive Injection of the fluid the petroleum significantly less at the Oil-containing rock or earth layer sticks, as in a continuous injection by a method according to the state of the art. Through the phases of non-injection according to the According to the invention, the fluid can surprisingly Also oil from the petroleum-containing rock or Dissolve the earth layer, which is on water cuticle or minerals with high surface area in the petroleum-containing Rock or earth layer adheres. This fluid mixture containing the contains such dissolved oil can be moved through the next injection.
Prefers the fluid is directed into the petroleum-containing rock or soil layer injected. In this preferred embodiment of Invention can with a constant delivery effect a achieved significantly higher savings of necessary fluid become. By the directed injection of the fluid, d. H. targeted Injection of the fluid in the direction of the delivery line, will the amount of injected fluid during the injection phase additionally minimized. By the directed injection takes place the fluid entry no longer in the entire solid angle, but only in one subarea. This will increase the amount of injected Fluids minimized. By the combination of the invention discontinuous injection with a directional injection In this embodiment of the invention thus a minimization reach the injected fluid amount. By the invention discontinuous injection forms a fluid cushion, which at directed entry the petroleum in the direction of the delivery line drives where it can be promoted for days. The fluid injection forms a fluid cushion. this will in the inventive discontinuous Injection set in motion by subsequent injections. In a directed Injection in this embodiment of the invention, this fluid pad moved in the direction from the line to a second line be, with the second line serves as a delivery line.
Preferably, the fluid is injected in the gaseous state. Particularly preferably, the fluid consists of nitrogen, carbon dioxide and / or gaseous hydrocarbons, more preferably methane. The advantages of the method according to the invention are particularly useful in the discontinuous injection of gaseous fluids. Gaseous fluids such as nitrogen or carbon dioxide are usually not present in the vicinity of the petroleum-containing rock or earth layers in sufficient quantities. Therefore, these gaseous fluids usually have to be transported over longer distances. A significant reduction in the amount of fluid required, as occurs in the process of the invention, significantly improves the economics of a process for extracting petroleum from a petroleum-containing rock or soil layer. The gaseous fluid used in each case is expediently selected according to the properties and conditions of the petroleum-containing rock or earth layer. Gaseous hydrocarbons mix with the petroleum in the rock or soil layer, thereby reducing the capillary forces that hold the petroleum in the rock or earth layer and thus facilitate the transport to the delivery line. A similar effect occurs with the use of gaseous carbon dioxide. Gaseous carbon dioxide mixes with the petroleum and reduces the viscosity. Thus, with the use of gaseous carbon dioxide also easier transport of petroleum is achieved in the petroleum-containing rock or soil layer.
Of the economically cheaper nitrogen, on the other hand, practically mixes not with the oil. With multiple injection of gaseous Nitrogen forms a gas front into which the oil contained light hydrocarbons from the petroleum-containing rock or soil layer diffuse into it. This increases the viscosity of the remaining oil, the thus more difficult to extract from the rock or soil layer becomes. This disadvantage can be remedied by that following the injection phase a resting phase in which the remaining oil particles Have time to mix with the storage water. This mixture can then at the next injection phase to the delivery line to be driven. Also beneficial for nitrogen is that it does not have an aggressive effect on metals and the rock or earth layer and especially because of the lower density compared to carbon dioxide for less permeable rock or soil layers suitable is. Nitrogen is preferred with supernatant Injected pressure. Nitrogen enters the deposit and spreads in the intended injection direction, as long as the gas pressure remains. This can be done in the pore structure Residual oil desorbed and together with the gas be moved through the pore structure. Will the injection In the noninjection phase, this can be interrupted Nitrogen gas also extend laterally and thus in pore spaces penetrate, where oil is still on water skin or on minerals with a large internal surface liable or oil droplets are present in small pores. The oil-water mixture thus formed can through the next Injection are moved in the direction of the delivery line.
Durch die Kombination der beiden Fluide können auch die oben genannten Vorteile beider Fluide kombiniert werden.ever according to the nature of the petroleum-containing rock or earth layer may be a combination of one or more of the said gaseous Fluid be appropriate. Particularly advantageous here the combination of gaseous carbon dioxide and gaseous Nitrogen. By combining the two fluids can Also, the above advantages of both fluids are combined.
In Another embodiment of the invention are gaseous Fluids such as carbon dioxide and liquid fluids such as water combined. In this embodiment of the invention, carbon dioxide and Water is injected alternately, that is, on the injection of carbon dioxide, followed by a phase without fluid injection, to which again followed by the injection of water. This causes the injected Gas a better fluidity of the oil and the water then injected forms the formation of oil banks in the limits of the gas flows, which are more or less move with straight boundary lines.
In this embodiment of the Invention, the fluid is conveniently in regular pulses of predetermined length injected. A pulse is understood as meaning the time span from the beginning to the stop of the injection of the fluid. It will be expediently several pulses of predetermined length injected in succession. As well as the injection has different fluids in successive pulses proved. By injecting different fluids in consecutive Pulses can advantageously the different mechanisms of action and advantages of the respective fluids simply combined become. For example, in a first pulse gaseous Carbon dioxide injected and thus the viscosity of the oil reduced in the petroleum-containing rock or earth layer become. By injecting gaseous nitrogen in the following pulse, the oil can now with lesser Viscosity driven in the direction of the delivery line become.
Daher muss auf eine hinreichende Pulsdauer geachtet werden.advantageously, the time interval between two injection pulses is not shorter as the pulse length, and is preferably the simple one to ten times the pulse length. By the pulsed injection It is achieved that the fluid cushion by increasing the pressure during the injection process and reduced then enlarged again. This Effect becomes smaller with shorter pulse lengths. Measurements have shown that too short pulse rates even a negative effect can occur. In these cases occurs the injected fluid is again substantially through the conduit, through which the fluid was injected without causing oil in the Petroleum-containing rock or earth layer in the direction of the delivery line to have driven forward. Therefore, must be on a sufficient pulse duration be respected.
Of the time interval between two injection pulses, d. H. the time in which no fluid is injected, must also be sufficiently long be. Advantageously, therefore, the time interval between two injection pulses not shorter than the pulse length. Measurements have shown that sometimes at shorter times a negative effect occurs, d. H. the fluid gets through the pulse not pressed in the direction of the delivery line. Longer times are possible. For one economically meaningful operation is preferred a temporal Distance between two injection pulses used, which is the simple to ten times the pulse length is.
Especially Preferably, the time is chosen as the minimum pulse length, which requires the gas to be halfway between the Line through which the fluid is injected, and the delivery line to cover. Thus, in this embodiment of the invention, that the oil in the direction of the delivery line through the injected fluid is propelled. If no measurements for Fluid velocity in the respective petroleum-containing rock or earth layer, will have a speed in the range of 0.5 m / min. up to 5 m / min. accepted. The speed hangs thereby of the porosity of the respective petroleum-containing Rock or earth layer. For petroleum-containing rock or high porosity earth layers, high fluid velocity may be assumed become.
In According to one embodiment of the invention, the fluid becomes more than one Directionally injected line, with pulse length, pulse spacing and / or start the injection at least one line different of pulse length, pulse interval and / or start of the injection from at least one other line is / are. Become more than one Line for directional and pulsed injection of fluid streams used in the direction of a pipeline, it is appropriate inject both fluid streams with a time offset. Logically, it is expected that the first injected fluid stream also actually come into the range of the second fluid stream is. This will shift the first fluid flow in the direction the promotion line possible. At too early or for later injection of the second fluid stream the combined fluid stream bypasses the delivery line. Pulse length, pulse interval and / or time of injections must be chosen so that the entire Fluid is injected in the direction of the delivery line.
In another embodiment of the invention, wherein the fluid from two lines are injected, both equidistant from the delivery line are removed, it is expedient the pulses simultaneously and with the same pulse length but different injection direction to start.
Conveniently, For example, the amounts of injected fluids from at least two conduits will be such adjusted that the injected fluid from a first conduit by the amount of injected fluid from at least a second one Line is deflected the direction of the delivery line. The amount of injected fluid from the second conduit becomes so adjusted that they are the injected fluid from the first conduit can deflect in the direction of the delivery line. The amount of the fluid injected in the second conduit is suitably similar the order of magnitude of the injected fluid the first line. Preferably, the ratio of Amounts of injected fluids between 10: 1 and 1: 1. Also will expediently the direction of the induced Fluids from at least two lines set such that the combined fluid flow from the lines in the direction of the delivery line is directed.
The The present invention faces a number of advantages the prior art. In particular, the amount can be induced Fluids for the same flow rate be significantly reduced in the prior art. It saves fluid, since the already induced fluid during the phase, in which no fluid is induced in the petroleum-containing Rock or soil layer spreads. Further increases phased the rate of induced fluid in the petroleum-containing Rock or earth layer, which makes the oil much better is dissolved out of the rock or earth layer as at a continuously flowing at the same speed Fluid flow.
Es zeigenin the The invention is based on the illustrated in the figures Embodiments explained in more detail become. Show it
