Abstract

A valve body (11) has aligned fluid input and output ports (16,17). Between said ports is a central chamber in which a block piston (12) is housed to act as a shutter. The piston is movable from a closed position to an opening position of a valve seat on the side of the input port. The valve body has an intermediate tubular member and two coupling sleeves at opposing ends of the member. The tubular member forms the central chamber, while the coupling sleeves respectively define the input and output ports. The piston divides the central chamber into upstream and downstream compartments (18,18'). A spring (29) maintains the piston in a closed position. The piston is shifted to the opening position by fluid under pressure passing through the upstream compartment and acting directly on the piston in opposition to the spring.
