Abstract
The automatic optical sorting system is used during the final stages of manufacture of spectacle lenses to reject faulty lenses. A light may be shone through each lens in turn to measure the coefficient of transmission. Different wavelengths of light may be used to obtain a spectral curve. A computer may compare the measured values with a design value.
