Abstract

The method of extinguishing local surface fires according to this invention is characterized by the fact that, at a distance of 5 to 20 m from the front of the local fire with the intensity of a surface fire of vegetation of up to 6 m high or a fire caused by gas outburst, a straight or concave line of fire comprising a homogeneous detonation system and/or individual detonation elements is placed here, and the elements are connected to each other by means of a detonation pulse transfer means, wherein the total detonation potential of the fire line corresponds to a detonation rate of 4200 to 6700 m s; and a detonation process is centrally initiated in this line of fire. The homogeneous detonation system is preferably formed by a continuous elongated charge; the detonation elements may consist of concentrated charges, partial elongated charges, anti-tank mines, crates of explosives. A detonating fuse is preferably the means for detonation pulse transfer. The process is initiated by for example fire ignition, electric ignition and/or remote control.
