Detailed description of the invention
1-37 can understand the preferred embodiments of the present invention and advantage thereof best with reference to the accompanying drawings, and similar numeral is used for each accompanying drawing phase Sihe corresponding component.
Purchasing system of the present invention and method generally can make the buyer use electronics bid process to buy product. An optional third party executor helps the buyer that information about the product that is provided by a plurality of dealer is provided, the product that provides by a plurality of dealer according to a plurality of parameter comparisons, obtain bid with being at war with total expenses bid process or auction from dealer, be the best comparable total expenses of selected product with decision about a plurality of predefined parameters. The executor also can be buyer oneself.
Purchasing system of the present invention and method can be used to buy a classification or subcategory of product, product. For the sake of simplicity, following explanation is directed to downward auction, and here, the buyer attempts to obtain minimum total expenses; Yet, also can make the present invention adapt to auction upwards, here, dealer attempts with the sell goods of the highest total expenses in several buyers. In this occasion, can the total expenses formula, consider from a plurality of parameters of seller's viewpoint (above including but not limited to and below discuss) from buyer's viewpoint. The seller will use this software to obtain the highest possibility total expenses simply.
A classification can refer to one group of product miscellaneous or service, such as commercial product or complicated purchase service.Subcategory further can comprise the subclassification of classification. Each classification or subcategory can have related with it a plurality of parameters. For example, a classification can be represented a sub-portfolio, and subcategory can comprise related task (that is: casting, cutting, punching press etc.).As another example, a searching provides the company of duplicating machine bid can have the duplicating machine classification, and the duplicating machine classification has the subcategory such as severe is used, moderate is used and slightly used. The parameter of each subcategory can comprise maintenance, guarantee, paper, carbon dust, layman etc.
The present invention can be used for the various purchase stages. For example, it can be used in supplier to one group of screening and issue behind the RFP initial buying period to a classification (or subcategory). It also can be applied in the buyer purchase during the classification (or subcategory) again and on regular basis for obtaining to the classification product buying occasion the most repeatedly of comparable total expenses.Like this, this auction software can use separately, also can use in conjunction with RFI and RFP process.
When buyer or buyer's (being called " buyer " here) hope purchase product (that is product, system, commodity, supply, equipment, service or its combination), the buyer can promote people, auctioner or the executor of system (being called " executor " here) to begin this process by employing, and helps the buyer to buy product. In addition, the executor can be buyer oneself.
The adoption process overview
With reference now to accompanying drawing Fig. 1 particularly,, overall procurement practice examples of indicating with numeral 10 comprise 7 general steps. The step that will further go through generally comprises below: (I) the plan auction 16; (II) work out and issue RFI and RFP24; (III) issue performance specification or bid notify 20; (IV) carry out auction 22; (V) finally negotiate 32; (VI) award of contract 28; (VII) produce purchase order 30.If use this purchasing system product purchasing or product purchasing repeatedly again, can omit the step 2 shown in Fig. 1 and 5.Be also to be understood that then the buyer will carry out those steps of being carried out by the executor if realize purchasing system of the present invention and not executor's help by the buyer. What can comprise other step or these steps partly or entirely and not leaves scope of the present invention. Can be independent of this process and a plurality of processes use multiparameter auction systems that will describe in detail below and software and not leave scope of the present invention.
Auction planning process (step I)
With reference now to Fig. 2,, the executor introduces the auction notion to the buyer, shown in square frame 34.This can comprise the demonstration purchasing system and with the buyer benefit and the risk of this purchasing system is discussed.
Before working out the auction strategy, the executor can determine whether can successfully realize that OLRT competes auction alternately and come product purchasing, product classification or product subcategory, shown in square frame 36.Though it is online and real-time that the discussion in this application usually refers to auction, the present invention need not use in this mode. For example, auction does not need online generation.Buyer or executor can use other software to obtain written bid or electronics bid and provide the valence mumber certificate for auction software. In addition, this software can not use on the real-time mode basis. Can adjust the time that offerer and/or buyer can watch auction status, make it not carry out with real-time mode.
The executor can use many different criterions to be evaluated as the suitability of this classification product auction, and some of them comprise: (i) this classification comprises the degree of commercial product; (ii) dealer's equipment performance explanation knows degree; The (iii) number of subcategory the called for bid row item of big or peanut (that is: whether have); Whether (iv) non-price parameter can be quantized; (whether the price element (guarantee, discount etc.) that v) is subordinated to the elementary cell expense defines and evaluation and test easily; (the vi) number of non-price parameter; (vii) whether the value of non-price parameter is compared obviously high with the elementary cell expense; (the viii) competitiveness in dealer market; (ix) be the dealer whether each subcategory exists enough numbers; (x) whether the buyer spends the scale of level enough greatly to produce significant competition; (xi) for a change whether the expense of dealer is minimum; (xii) whether the dealer storehouse has comparable adversary; (xiii) whether the ability of dealer is similar; (xiv) whether dealer can be grouped into 3 to 4 similar adversarys' classification, makes it possible to carry out independent auction; (xv) whether the logistics item is minimum; (xvi) whether dealer is familiar with Web-browser and Email, and whether access the Internet is easy; (xvii) whether dealer can participate in all time zones; (xviii) whether can easily Manage Currency and the rate of conversion item.Should be appreciated that these criterions are the general guide rules to the auction candidate of a success, rather than the condition precedent of auctioning. In other words, no matter auction software of the present invention can be used for carrying out auction and these criterions.
As the part of auction plan step, main expense influence factor (major cost drivers) that the executor can discern several (preferred number is 3 to 4) is shown in square frame 38.Should be appreciated that the number of capital cost influence factor can change. The capital cost influence factor can generally include base price and add applicable guarantee, additional expense, discount, returning and other expense or cost by the executor with the comparable total expenses that decides product, and system is designated parameter to them. This parameter can comprise item or other the more subjective parameter of collecting price. When parameter was subjectivity, buyer and/or executor be this parameter quantitatively, and according to this factor buyer's importance was distributed an expense to it.In addition, can use the expense of one or more fortrans parameter for will in the total expenses formula, considering. For example, when the buyer of equipment predicts the equipment periodic fault, then can use the design cost (for example, there, shutdown causes that assembly line stops) that is calculated as the stop time of this equipment for the mean down time of this equipment.
Therefore, parameter can be a price parameter, also can be non-price parameter. The example of price parameter comprises: (i) base price; (ii) bulk discounts; (iii) returning; (iv) life cycle discount; (v) usage charges; (vi) maintenance expense; (vii) overhead cost. The example of non-pricing parameters comprises: (i) time of delivery; (ii) domestic service coverage; (iii) quality level; (iv) employee's proficient and training; (v) professional account management troop resource; (vi) client reports service; (vii) online orders; (viii) guarantee period length; (ix) indentured period length.Except variable element, the expense influence factor also can comprise fixed value, such as other fixed expense of switching expense or supply of material relation.
The executor works out an auction pricing model, shown in square frame 40, as the part of plan auction.Selecting outside the parameter, the executor works with the buyer and selects product or the item that will be bid by dealer, and system is designated subcategory to them.Be the definition subcategory, the buyer demarcates maximum effect item so that be included in the auction (for example, consist of this classification plan cost 80% 10).Then subcategory is grouped into (that is: subcategory can be expressed as one group task related with the production of a sub-component-casting, cutting, punching press, and classification can be represented this sub-component) in the logic classification. For classification, can represent the market basket (market basket) of item to simplify the auction pricing model by working out one with thousands of.For example, in office supply classification, the buyer can select to constitute 100 of the most meaningful purchase and they are divided into groups into 10 subcategories from thousands of.During the RFP process, the dealer's bid in the auction can provide price for each product in the basket of market, subtotal on the subcategory level.During auctioning, dealer can bid on the subcategory level. But this permission system is with the bid of way to manage processing with regard to relatively large number order item.Yet bid can take place on the product level.
Use parameter and the subcategory selected, the executor sets up a total expenses formula for each dealer. The total expenses formula can be all identical to all participators in the auction, can be specific to each dealer perhaps.Use allows software consideration to a fee item that particular Seller is specific, such as the expense that forwards another from a dealer to the ability of the specific formula of each dealer.(for example, perhaps the expense generation is arranged considering new dealer when setting up book keeping operation/payment system, and the expense that physically changes equipment.) as the part of defined formula, the executor unit of decision label and distribute to the expense constant of each parameter, it further specifies below.Like this, as definition here, total expenses is the buyer buys product or product classification according to parameter of selecting and subcategory a expense.
The plan auction can also comprise estimates the classification method, shown in square frame 42.If a classification was not bought in the past, typical method is to use RFI and RFP process. If this classification is buying once before, and the basis of dealer understands very much, then can use the classification repurchase or repeat procurement practice.
RFI and RFP work out and issuing process (Step II)
Fig. 3 is expressed as the process of formulation, examination and issue RFI and RFP.Before working out RFI, the executor works out an auction strategy, shown in square frame 44, considers these factors, as: (i) auction number; (ii) dealer's number; (iii) the auction in dealer's selection course in proper order; (iv) pricing model; (the v) open plan of auction; (the feedback format of vi) fixing a price. The formulation of these auction strategy instruction RFI and RFP.
The executor helps the buyer to work out and issues RFI to determine interested dealer, defines properties of product explanation and demand in addition, shown in square frame 46.Usually RFI is a short relatively general survey, and it gives some possible dealer in a product scope or supply line (that is: first dealer table).Dealer receives RFI and provides a response to it to the buyer. The executor helps the buyer to assess the RFI response, and according to they the response selective selling merchant to RFI, forms dealer's table of one second screening, shown in square frame 48.Go up the dealer of selecting only for second dealer table and send RFP.
Shown in square frame 50, work out and issue RFP.RFP generally sets up auction item and rule. The factor of considering when working out RFP comprises definite: (i) equipment/Service Description book; (ii) minimum service demand; The (iii) minimum baseline of available parameter (for example guarantee, bulk discounts etc.); (iv) contract range (for example target numbers of contract value, time, the dealer that will select etc.).
The buyer transmits RFP or be notified to the dealer all screenings or that select on second dealer table.Dealer accepts and provides response to RFP.The executor helps the buyer to assess these responses, according to they response screening and selective selling merchants to RFP, forms the 3rd dealer's table 14, and these dealer will participate in auction, shown in square frame 52.Selectable in addition scheme is to allow the dealer of second dealer table to participate in auction simply.Point out as top, do not need RFI and RFP process as a part of the present invention.Should be appreciated that RFI and RFP can issue in the electronics mode, use facsimile transmission, post or send to dealer with any other known method.
After forming and finishing the 3rd dealer's table 14, executor or buyer send auction for tabular dealer and invite, shown in square frame 54.This invitation for example can comprise: (i) be the arrangement of the key dates of this time auction; (ii) auction dealer's handbook; (iii) auction information page or leaf; (iv) put into practice indication, login ID and the password of auction; (v) any other relates to the relevant information of auction. The executor can prepare all auction participators for auction, shown in square frame 56.The executor prepares the buyer by following mode: (i) provide data demand and template to the buyer; Buyer's effect (ii) is discussed; (iii) auction practice; (iv) set up buyer's live auction directorate (war room), it comprises reliable external the Internet visit; (the accidental cost plan v) is discussed, is lost access to the Internet, dealer forfeiture access to the Internet, catastrophic failure and other possible problem such as the buyer. The executor can prepare dealer by following manner: a Help Desk with free code and addresses of items of mail (i) is provided; (ii) carry out dealer's information dialogue; (iii) monitored sales merchant's participation situation during auction practice; (iv) the fault diagnosis technology problem comprises the calling dealer that no delivery attempted is bid in the auction practice; (guarantee that v) dealer understands auction process.
Issue bid notice (Step II I)
Buyer or executor can be provided as the subcategory instructions and the bid notice of auctioning to dealer. The bid notice is the simplification version of RFP, and it comprises: (i) subcategory; (ii) parameter; (iii) properties of product explanation; (iv) minimum service demand.
Carry out online bid process (step IV)
With reference now to Figure 4 and 5,, the executor is by setting up auction, managing and auction and produce and analyze one or more final report and carry out auction according to auction, respectively by shown in the square frame 58,60,62.Say that more specifically setting up auction can comprise: (i) upgrade the master data base table, shown in square frame 64 for this time auction; (ii) create auction, shown in square frame 66; (iii) be that classification is specified in this time auction, shown in square frame 68; (iv) set up dealer, shown in square frame 70 for this time auction; (specify subcategory v) for the classification of auction, shown in square frame 72; (vi) set up parameter and total expenses constant, shown in square frame 74 for this time auction; (vii) auction off to dealer's appointment subcategory of selection, shown in square frame 76 for this time; (viii) specify a formula, for this time auction is calculated comparable total expenses for each dealer, shown in square frame 78 for each parameter; (ix) produce auction and sum up and password, shown in square frame 80.
Below discussion tell about and severally can be used for interface of the present invention example. These interfaces can be used other interface and not leave scope of the present invention only as an example. In addition, these interfaces can receive more or less information and organize these information by different way and do not leave scope of the present invention.
Upgrade the master data base table
With reference now to Fig. 6,, system can provide a master data base surface and interface 90, and it can make the executor add new supplier, classification, subcategory, parameter and total expenses information to database. These elements are formed the structure piece of setting up auction. For whether decision information exists in database, system provides a search interface, and it is shown in square frame 92.This interface also allows the executor to duplicate and/or revise the information that is pre-existing in.Any point in auction is set up, the executor can turn back to master meter by the navigation bar in click screen left side or by the link of clicking specific master meter.
Though this embodiment of the present invention uses the classification or the subcategory of product.According to the present invention, do not need to use this institutional framework. The present invention can be contained a plurality of parameters of any use and is not the auction software that simple expense decides auction result.
Use householder's information
With reference now to Fig. 7,, system can provide one with householder's information input interface 94, and it allows the executor be the information that relevant buyer and/or dealer are imported in this time auction.Relevant user information can comprise the field of Business Name, address, contact details, e-mail address, time zone, currency, language, corporate logo, DUNS#, logon name and other executor definition. Can comprise other information or include only the part of these information, not leave scope of the present invention. After the executor imported these data, system stored these information in appropriate databases.
Classification master information
With reference now to Fig. 8,, system can provide a product or classification master information input interface 96, and it can make the executor create a new classification or product in system database. It is classification or name of product and product are imported in this time auction in the master meter of database explanation that this interface 96 can make the executor. After the executor imported these information or data, system stored these information in appropriate databases.
Subcategory master information
If the executor creates a new classification, then the executor creates and specifies subcategory can for this new classification. The executor also can create subcategory for existing classification.Turn to Fig. 9 now, system 10 can provide a subcategory master information interface 98, and it can make the executor import and auction relevant subcategory information.Especially, this interfacial energy makes the executor import subcategory title and subcategory explanation. The executor can also select which classification to add subcategory to.After the executor imported this information or data, system stored this information in the proper data storehouse.
Parameter master's information
The executor can also set up a plurality of parameters for the total expenses formula of subcategory.Turn to Figure 10 now. This system provides a parameter (or variable) main information input interface 100, and it can make the explanation of executor's input parameter title and parameter. After the executor imported this information or data, system stored this information in the proper data storehouse. This information can be used to create the total expenses formula, and this formula is considered and a plurality of parameters that product is related.
The constant appointed information
Turn to Figure 11 now, system can provide a constant master information input interface 102, and it can make the executor be input as the title and the explanation of the constant that can be used for the total expenses formula. The executor imports the title of constant, the explanation of constant, and the parameter of selecting this constant to be assigned to.After the executor imported this information or data, system stored this information in the proper data storehouse.
Create/new auction more
With reference now to Figure 12 A,, system can provide an auction search interface 104, and it can make the executor duplicate all elements of an existing auction or be revised as the auction identifying information of an existing auction. For determine whether an auction exists, and system provides a search interface, and it is represented in square frame 105 in database. This interfacial energy makes the executor revise the auction of a selection, if desired, duplicates the auction template or the structure of a selection, or creates a complete new auction.By duplicating the auction of previous foundation, new auction comprises all information of previous auction, such as buyer, dealer, all classifications, subcategory, be the parameter and the constant of the bid formula of decision total expenses.
When executor's selection, when duplicating or creating a new auction, system provides an auction identification interface 106 to the executor, and it is further expression in Figure 12 B, and this interfacial energy makes the executor import the auction identifying information. The auction represented in Figure 12 C identification interface 106 can make the executor import details about a particular auction, comprise the auction title, buyer's title, the RFP number, executor's e-mail address, the auction duration that comprises time commencement date and deadline, currency, the time zone, the extended period of auction in the auction record, it is a special maximum number of auctioning the prolongation of authorizing, twice of the dealer largest percentage between the bid poor continuously, twice of the dealer minimum percent between the bid poor continuously, maximum dealer free time in the record, surpassing this time will send an email message to dealer, urge him to bid, gap between the bid of current lowest offer and dealer, this gap will make system send the bid that a message more keeps forging ahead and become best bidder to dealer, and defining a new bid, it is the times that pass between two nearest bids of any two dealer in record. When the executor wished to preserve change, the executor selected " submitting " icon, the auction information of storage input in the master data base table in the database server that system is discussed below.
Classification is specified
For setting up auction, the executor specifies classification for auction.Figure 13 represents the example at classification appointment interface 108, and it can make the executor select auction and classification. This interfacial energy makes the executor specify the classification of selecting for this time auction. After the executor imported this information or data, system stored this information in appropriate databases. If the executor does not create new classification as yet or this classification does not exist in system, then the executor can be by the links and accesses classification master interface 96 to interface 108.
Dealer sets up
The executor can also determine the dealer of invite participation auction. In the hard-core occasion of auction, any dealer can be allowed to participate in.With reference now to Figure 14,, system can comprise that a dealer specifies interface 110, and it can make the executor select an auction and input will participate in dealer's table of this time auction. The executor uses the master of dealer information input interface previously discussed selective selling merchant (being called " dealer's master meter ") from before be stored in the dealer the system database. The executor selects the dealer of each invitation from dealer's master meter, make the dealer that is invited show (being called " dealer of selection ") in suitable square frame. After the executor imported this information or data, system stored this information in appropriate databases.
Subcategory is specified
The executor can also specify subcategory for each classification of during auctioning it being bid. With reference now to Figure 15,, system can provide a subcategory to specify interface 112, and it can make the executor select specific auction, classification and relevant subcategory.Except that using interface 112 for the auction chooser classification, the executor can use this interface to be defined as the quantity of the subcategory of each selection. After the executor imported this information or data, system stored this information in appropriate databases.
Parameter is set up
With reference now to Figure 16 A and 16B,, system can provide a parameter to set up interface 114, and it can make the executor give each subcategory designated parameter (that is: variable) and be each parameter input baseline value. The surplus that system uses baseline value to calculate the buyer, this explains below.Baseline value can react the previous cost of buyer.Baseline information can not be by seller accesses. This interfacial energy makes the executor select parameter auction, classification and the subcategory of appointment for it.The executor also determines the unit label of measuring and is the direction (up or down) of the bid of each parameter. After the executor imported this information or data, system stored this information in appropriate databases.
Constant is set up
