Description
The invention relates to a personalization system for a motor vehicle, a motor vehicle and a personalization method for a motor vehicle.
As the number of electronic components in motor vehicles increases with increased computing power and the user or passenger demands in the vehicle sector or in general in the passenger transport sector increase, there is a general interest in being able to produce individualized user or passenger settings, for example preferred temperatures, preferred settings of seats, etc.
Methods for personalizing vehicle settings are generally known, which enable a motor vehicle to be shared by a plurality of drivers, wherein each driver can set its own settings for the motor vehicle.
In this case, the driver characteristic is usually selected automatically or manually when starting to use the motor vehicle and the settings are adjusted in accordance with the final specification of the selected driver characteristic.
However, methods are not known that enable multiple occupants to be personalized for multiple vehicle uses.
When the individualized setting characteristics of the driver or passenger are transferred from one seat position (driver, passenger, rear seat, etc.) to another, undesirable settings may occur, such as setting the seat of the passenger seat for the driver, setting the air conditioning equipment of the rear seat for the passenger, etc.
Cloning a driver-individualized solution for each seat may also lead to undesirable results, since this may lead to greater complexity in the case of an associated control device (for example a control device for an air conditioning system) participating in a plurality of systems (i.e. managing settings for a plurality of seats or accessing a plurality of seats).
When changing seats (e.g., changing drivers), it may be desirable that certain settings can be present on a new seat of a previous driver as on the driver's seat, while other settings are not present on the new seat.
For example, publication US 2017/0185266 a1 relates to a system and a method in which a user can perform personalized settings in a vehicle, such as screen settings, window settings and rear-view mirror settings. However, problems may arise in this case in that these settings are adapted to the fixed seat of the user and the user cannot carry the settings when changing seats.
Furthermore, the patent document US9,914,418B 2 describes a vehicle's own part associated with various zones of the vehicle. Further, the user's terminal devices are located in various areas of the vehicle. However, a terminal is required for this purpose in order to perform the association. Furthermore, bus users (e.g., control devices) of the vehicle do not relieve the load on the storage side.
Furthermore, a method is known from KR 101755310B 1, in which a terminal identification number assigned to a user of a vehicle is assigned to a seat. However, a terminal is required here. Furthermore, the bus users are not relieved of load on the storage side.
Patent document US 2018/0218470 describes a method of assigning seats according to a terminal device associated with a user while co-riding in a vehicle and delivering personalized seat settings based on the association. However, this still requires the presence of the terminal device and access to an external memory which communicates with the terminal device to enable seat setting, which may result in loss of functionality, for example in the case of a poor connection of the terminal device to the external memory.
Patent document US 10,040,372B2 relates to a method for locating a vehicle user, in which seat belt movement data are compared with movement data of the user's portable terminal device and the user's personalization options are deduced therefrom. However, for this reason, a portable terminal device is required which needs to access an external memory, and as described above, if a connection problem occurs, functionality may be limited.
A wireless mobile device is known from publication US 2017/0052538 a1, whereby the seat arrangement of a vehicle can be personalized. This may still lead to the above-mentioned problems for mobile terminal devices that are personalized for vehicle settings.
The object of the invention is to provide an improved personalization system, a motor vehicle and a personalization method, which at least partially overcome the above-mentioned disadvantages.
The object is achieved by a personalization system according to the invention as claimed in claim 1, a motor vehicle according to the invention as claimed in claim 9 and a personalization method according to the invention as claimed in claim 10.
According to a first aspect of the invention, a personalization system for a motor vehicle comprises: a bus user for setting at least one bus user-specific or bus user-specific parameter; a data memory for storing at least one bus user specific parameter; and a control device configured to:
sending an inquiry to a data memory to receive the bus user-specific parameters, given an identification code of the at least one bus user-specific parameter and given a role of an occupant of the motor vehicle associated with the at least one bus user; receiving at least one bus user specific parameter; at least one bus user specific parameter is communicated to the bus user to adjust the received at least one bus user specific parameter.
According to a second aspect of the invention, a motor vehicle is provided with a personalization system according to the first aspect.
According to a third aspect of the invention, a personalization method for a motor vehicle having a bus user for setting at least one bus user-specific parameter, a data memory for storing the at least one bus user-specific parameter, and a control device comprises:
sending an inquiry to a data memory to receive the bus user-specific parameters, given an identification code of the at least one bus user-specific parameter and given a role of an occupant of the motor vehicle associated with the at least one bus user; receiving at least one bus user specific parameter; at least one bus user specific parameter is communicated to the bus user to adjust the received at least one bus user specific parameter.
Further advantageous embodiments of the invention result from the dependent claims and the following description of preferred embodiments of the invention.
Some embodiments relate to a personalization system for a motor vehicle, comprising: a bus user for adjusting at least one bus user specific parameter; a data memory for storing at least one bus user specific parameter; and a control device configured to:
sending an inquiry to a data memory to receive the bus user-specific parameter given an identification code of the at least one bus user-specific parameter and given a role of an occupant of the motor vehicle associated with the at least one bus user; receiving at least one bus user specific parameter; at least one bus user specific parameter is communicated to the bus user to adjust the received at least one bus user specific parameter.
The motor vehicle may comprise all transport systems in which a personalized arrangement is possible, which advantageously does not limit the invention to certain types of vehicles.
The motor vehicle may be, for example, an automobile, a truck, an agricultural vehicle, or the like. Furthermore, buses, trains, ships, aircraft, etc. may be involved.
In principle, the bus users CAN be present in any known bus system, for example a CAN bus (Controller Area Network). In addition or in addition, other bus Systems which are also used in motor vehicle construction can also be used, for example LIN (Local Interconnect Network), FlexRay, MOST (Media Oriented Systems Transport) PSI5(Peripheral Sensor Interface 5), ethernet known from the computer field, etc.
The invention can thus advantageously be implemented using known systems.
In connection with this, the bus user can be a control device, wherein the control device is usually provided for a predetermined control function, for example, for an air conditioning system, a fan, one or more seats, a rear view mirror, a loudspeaker, a temperature, a display, etc. The bus users can also comprise a plurality of control functions. The control device for the seat may for example be arranged to provide control functions for the seat height, the position of the backrest and the horizontal seat position.
The bus user can also be a (motor vehicle) central vehicle-mounted computer, a component of said central vehicle-mounted computer or any vehicle component which is, for example, capable of generating and receiving and/or storing electrical signals.
The adjustment of the at least one bus user specific parameter may comprise a signal (e.g. an electrical signal) in response to which a preset control function is performed.
The bus user-specific parameters can be associated therewith values which are adjusted by preset control functions, such as seat height, vertical position of the seat, angle of inclination of the backrest, temperature, rear-view mirror setting, sound volume, fan intensity, etc.
As already mentioned above, a plurality (i.e. at least one) bus user-specific parameters can be adjusted by the bus user.
The data memory may be any, usually non-volatile, data memory that can be accessed via a Bus system, such as SSD (Solid State Drive), ROM (read only memory), PROM (programmable read only memory), EPROM (erasable programmable read only memory), EEPROM (electrically erasable programmable read only memory), flash EEPROM (e.g. USB (Universal Serial Bus)), FRAM (ferroelectric random access memory), MRAM (magnetoresistive random access memory), phase change RAM, etc.
The data storage may be integrated in the motor vehicle or, in some embodiments, provided in the back end.
The advantage thereby results from the fact that, on the one hand, known data memories can be used and, on the other hand, they can also be provided partially externally, which leads to a reduction in the complexity of the vehicle electronics.
According to the invention, the data memory is provided for storing at least one bus user-specific parameter.
Furthermore, the data memory according to the invention is provided for associating bus user-specific parameters with an identification code, an occupant identification number and the role of the occupant (as explained further below).
The control device can be any control device provided for sending queries to the data memory, for example a CPU (central processing unit), an FPGA (field programmable gate array), a microcontroller and a combination of a plurality of and components of said components, whereby known techniques can be used advantageously.
The control device is provided for sending an inquiry to the data memory.
A query is sent to receive bus user specific parameters stored in the data memory. For this purpose, for each bus subscriber-specific parameter there is an identification code, which is stored both in the respective bus subscriber and in the data memory, so that at least one bus subscriber-specific parameter can be identified. For example, there are an identification code for the fan intensity and an identification code for the temperature, both of which are controlled by the same bus user (e.g. a heating control device).
However, in a motor vehicle it may be desirable, for example, to set a temperature and/or a fan intensity for the driver which differs from the temperature and/or the fan intensity respectively set for the co-driver.
Furthermore, it may be desirable to adapt the respective temperature and/or fan intensity in the event of a driver and co-driver replacement.
The bus subscribers therefore also have a role in the inquiry in addition to the identification code.
The characters correspond to positions of occupants, such as a driver, a co-driver, a left rear seat occupant, a middle rear seat occupant, a right rear seat occupant, and the like, in the vehicle.
The control device therefore transmits an identification code of the at least one bus user-specific parameter together with the identified role of the occupant.
For example, a fan intensity is required for this role for the co-pilot. Since it is known which user of the vehicle, i.e. which passenger identification number plays the role of the passenger, the required value for the fan intensity can be clearly read from the data memory. If it is now recognized that the passenger with the passenger identification number has changed his role, for example from passenger to driver, the query can be sent again to the data memory together with the corresponding identification code of the bus user-specific parameter (in this example fan intensity) given the role of passenger as driver, so that the bus user receives and thus adjusts at least one bus user-specific parameter accordingly.
The advantage here is that no complexity of the bus users themselves has to be increased and no more memory has to be stored in the bus users.
Furthermore, a central data memory can advantageously be present and the own data memory in the bus users can be dispensed with, which saves costs and production time.
In some embodiments, the identification of which occupant is assigned to which role can be carried out by known occupant identification methods, for example biometric identification, manual input, identification or authentication by means of a terminal device, etc., with the resulting advantage that known methods for occupant identification can be used.
In some embodiments, the bus users include the control devices already discussed above.
In some embodiments, the control device comprises one of an air conditioning control device, a seat control device, a speaker control device, and a multimedia control device, as described below.
The multimedia control device may comprise an infotainment control device, such as (at least one) controller device for at least one of radio, telephone, navigation and other media.
In addition, the multimedia control device may also include a heads-up display (e.g., a head position based visual display, etc.).
The display of the vehicle itself (also for the passenger or other passengers in the vehicle) and/or the configuration and brightness of said display can also be controlled by means of the multimedia control device.
In general, it is also possible for these elements to have their own control device, without a multimedia control device being provided for this purpose for controlling the elements.
The control device may also be a driver assistance control device that controls, for example, a multi-function camera, a cruise control (e.g., adaptive cruise control), a radar (or other distance sensor), a stopping distance control, etc.
Furthermore, seat positions, mirror positions, steering wheel positions, rear seat entertainment media, fragrances, air conditioning devices, etc. can be controlled by the control device according to the invention.
In some embodiments, the roles of the occupants include a driver, a co-driver, a left rear occupant, a middle rear occupant, and a right rear occupant as described herein.
Provision may advantageously be made for the solution according to the invention to be transferred to a vehicle for left-hand driving and right-hand driving.
However, the present disclosure is not limited to this role-assigned design. For example, seat numbers or other designations may also be used. Furthermore, as mentioned before, the invention may also be applied to other transportation systems, such as trains, aircraft, ships, etc., which allow personalization of the occupant settings. It is obvious that the roles can be named in other ways.
In some exemplary embodiments, bus user-specific parameters are identified as a function of the role and as a function of the corresponding assignment of the occupant to the role, as a result of which an automated process is advantageously carried out, which increases user friendliness.
For example, a role (for example, a driver) can be determined from the identification of an occupant in a certain seat in the motor vehicle, so that a query can be sent, whereby bus user-specific parameters for the occupant in the determined role are identified by the control device.
In some exemplary embodiments, the data store includes a data structure that assigns at least one bus user-specific parameter to an occupant role as described herein.
The data structure may be any known data structure. The data structure may generally be an object for storing and managing data, wherein the data may be interrelated in accordance with the present invention.
The advantage here is that the correspondence between the character and the vehicle occupant can be made automatically.
In some exemplary embodiments, the personalization system further comprises: control equipment provided for associating a plurality of occupants of a motor vehicle with respective characters.
The control equipment is, for example, a central control device, a central vehicle-mounted computer, an external device, for example, a mobile terminal device, a server, etc., with which the motor vehicle can communicate, for example, via an air interface.
As mentioned above, the control equipment may thus be arranged to identify the occupant in his role.
In some embodiments, the control device is further configured to: sending an identification code of at least one bus user specific parameter to the control equipment; wherein the content of the first and second substances,
the control equipment is further configured to:
control instructions are sent to the data memory to provide at least one bus user specific parameter to the control device.
This advantageously enables the control device to assume a central function, so that the burden on the bus users with regard to memory and with regard to computing power can be reduced.
Some embodiments relate to a motor vehicle having a personalization system according to the present invention.
Some embodiments relate to a personalization method for a motor vehicle having bus users for setting at least one bus user-specific parameter, a data memory for storing the at least one bus user-specific parameter, and a control device, wherein the personalization method comprises: as discussed herein, the query is sent to the data memory to receive the bus user-specific parameter given an identification code of the at least one bus user-specific parameter and given a role of an occupant of the motor vehicle associated with the at least one bus user; receiving at least one bus user specific parameter; at least one bus user specific parameter is communicated to the bus user to adjust the received at least one bus user specific parameter.
The personalization method may be performed by the personalization system according to the invention and/or by the motor vehicle according to the invention, without the disclosure being limited thereto.
Two modeling variants of the personalization method according to the invention will now be described, taking the seat positions of the driver and co-driver as examples.
In a first modeling variation, the desired characteristic may be that the co-driver's seat position changes when the driver changes (i.e., the previous co-driver becomes the current driver, and vice versa).
Thus, when changing over to the driver's seat, the person who was previously the secondary driver can have a different seat position there than was previously on the secondary driver's seat.
Therefore, the seat position of the secondary driver is independent of whether the secondary driver is recognized or which secondary driver is recognized.
In some embodiments, the seating positions of the driver and co-driver depend on which person is identified as the driver. The seat position of the secondary driver can depend, for example, on the recognized driver when the driver changes while the secondary driver is unchanged.
If it is recognized that the previous driver now takes the passenger seat, the previous driver does not get the same seat setting as previously on the driver seat.
A technical implementation of this first modeling variant is, for example, that the control device queries the driver seat for an identification code that is different from the identification code for the co-driver seat, but both are directed to the role of the driver.
In the second modeling variation, the desired characteristic is that the seat position of the secondary driver does not change when the driver changes.
In the case where the co-driver and the driver exchange seats, the person who was previously the co-driver can obtain his seat position on the driver seat, and the person who was previously the driver can obtain his seat position on the co-driver seat.
The seat position of the secondary driver therefore depends on whether and/or which secondary driver is identified.
If the driver change occurs while the secondary driver remains unchanged, in some embodiments, the driver's seat position changes while the secondary driver's seat position remains unchanged.
If the secondary driver change occurs while the driver remains unchanged, in some embodiments, the secondary driver's seat position changes while the driver's seat position remains unchanged.
If a driver change is detected, for example, the previous driver in the secondary driver seat will have the same setting of the secondary driver seat as in the previous driver seat.
A technical implementation of this second modeling variant is, for example, that the control device queries the seat position of the driver seat with the same identification code as for the passenger seat, wherein the driver character and the passenger character are respectively assigned.
For example, different seats may be set differently or the same setting may be made for different seats (or other bus user specific parameters) according to the preferences of the vehicle user.
In some embodiments, different identification codes are queried with different roles for the driver seat and the co-driver seat.
In such an embodiment, the user may make seat-specific settings.
At any point in time when the user is, for example, sitting on the secondary driver's seat, the user may get his secondary driver-specific seat settings, which may be independent of the driver-specific seat settings that the user gets when sitting on the driver's seat.
The desire of the vehicle user may be, for example, to sit as straight as possible in the driver's seat, while there may be a desire to lie down in the secondary driver's seat.
In some embodiments, the role of the occupant includes one of a driver, a co-driver, a left rear passenger, a middle rear passenger, and a right rear passenger as described herein. In some embodiments, bus user-specific parameters are identified as described herein based on the role and based on the corresponding assignment of the occupant to the role. In some embodiments, the personalization method further comprises: a plurality of occupants are associated with the characters, respectively, as described herein. In some embodiments, the personalization method further comprises: the identification code of at least one bus user-specific parameter is transmitted to the control device as described herein. In some embodiments, the personalization method further comprises: control commands are sent by the control equipment to the data memory as described herein to provide at least one bus user-specific parameter to the control device.
Embodiments of the invention are now described, by way of example and with the aid of the accompanying drawings. In the drawings:

fig. 2 schematically shows in a block diagram an exemplary embodiment of a personalization system according to the present invention;
fig. 3 shows an embodiment of the personalization method according to the invention in a block diagram and
fig. 4 shows schematically in a block diagram a further embodiment of the personalization method according to the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a block diagram of an exemplary embodiment of a motor vehicle 1 according to the invention.
In addition to the other components not shown here, the motor vehicle 1 also has a personalization system 2 according to the invention, which personalization system 2 has a bus subscriber according to the invention, i.e. in this exemplary embodiment an air conditioning control device 3, a control device 4 according to the invention and a data memory 5 according to the invention.
The personalization system 2 is provided for carrying out the personalization method according to the invention. For this purpose, upon detection of the occupant being in the role assigned to him, the climate control device 3 transmits an inquiry to the control device 4 in response, wherein the assignment of the occupant to the role was carried out in the preceding process.
The inquiry comprises the transmission of an identification code for a first person in the form of a driver and a second person in the form of a co-driver for the three bus users. In this embodiment, the motor vehicle 1 has a driver seat and a co-driver seat and does not have a rear seat.
The air conditioning control apparatus 3 thus transmits the data items shown in the following table 1:
identification code | Character |
a | Driver's seat |
a | Copilot driver |
b | Driver's seat |
b | Copilot driver |
c | Driver's seat |
c | Copilot driver |
Table 1: data item sent by air conditioner control equipment to control device
In the embodiment, the identification code a corresponds to the temperature, the identification code b corresponds to the fan intensity, and the identification code c corresponds to the setting of which fans (which correspond to numbers, respectively) should be driven.
In general, the identification code can be given in any desired manner, for example a number, an alphanumeric code, etc.
The control device 4 accesses a data memory 5, in which the correspondence between the occupant identification numbers in the assigned roles and the corresponding bus user-specific parameters is stored, which is shown as an example in table 2 below:
table 2: data items stored in a data store 5
The data items stored in the data memory 5 respectively assign the setting of bus user-specific parameters to the occupant identification numbers (occupant ids) in the assigned roles, wherein, in addition to the above-mentioned bus user-specific parameters a, b and c, there are, for example, d (seat height) and e (inclination angle of the seat back), which are not, however, required by the air-conditioning control device 3.
In addition, data items for four users stored in the data memory 5 are stored.
The control device 4 determines the respective user or passenger identification number according to the role and reads the required bus user-specific parameters a, b and c and transmits these to the climate control system 3, which climate control system 3 adjusts accordingly for the driver and the passenger.
