It should be noted that, in the embodiments of the present invention, words such as "exemplary" or "for example" are used to indicate examples, illustrations or explanations. Any embodiment or design described as "exemplary" or "e.g.," an embodiment of the present invention is not necessarily to be construed as preferred or advantageous over other embodiments or designs. In the fourth generation mobile communication technology (4G), RRC has two states, which are: RRC idle state and RRC connected state. With the development of communication technology, in a 5G radio link (NR) system, in order to meet new service characteristics and reduce power consumption of a User Equipment (UE), a new RRC state, RRC-INACTIVE state (RRC-INACTIVE), of the UE is defined.
For a UE in RRC inactive state, the following characteristics may be present:
(1) the mobility of the UE is achieved by cell reselection.
(2) The radio access network side of the UE has a control plane and user plane connection established to the core network (CN-NR RAN) (i.e. maintaining a user plane and control plane connection similar to LTE S1).
(3) At least one network device stores context information of an access stratum of the UE, the network device maintaining at least a control plane and a user plane connected. The UE also maintains context information for the access stratum.
(4) A Network side notification area is defined, and an NR Radio Access Network (NR RAN) may initiate sending a Paging message (Paging) to the UE, so that the Network side notification area is managed by the NR RAN, and the NR RAN knows to which Network side notification area the UE belongs.
(5) The UE monitors RAN Paging and core network Paging.
(6) The UE needs to perform RAN side notification area and cn (core network) tracking area update.
Illustratively, the RRC release message may be implemented by RRC release information in a related standard protocol, and may be modified as follows:
Figure BDA0002867525830000081
the Chinese meaning of the standard protocol is as follows:
the list of RRC states in the release priority r16 includes: idle, inactive, connected.
The idle, inactive and connected are all selectable items, that is, the RRC state may be one of the idle, inactive and connected.
In the protocol, inactive is the new content. The original 4G standard protocol enumerates RRC states and may include: one of idle and connected, and in the 5G standard protocol, the listing of the RRC state may include: idle, inactive and connected.
When the UE is in an RRC inactive state and an RRC idle state, the UE can save power. However, when the UE is in the RRC inactive state, the UE can be more quickly converted to the RRC connected state than when the UE is in the RRC idle state, so that the UE in the RRC inactive state can reduce the delay of sending data and meet the requirements of different services. However, when the UE is in the RRC inactive state, the requirement on the network device is higher because the network device needs to store the access layer context of the UE and maintain the connection between the radio access network side of the UE and the control plane and the user plane of the core network.
When the UE is in the RRC connected state, the network device may instruct the UE to switch to the RRC non-connected state. The RRC non-connected state includes an RRC idle state or an RRC non-active state, and is applicable in the following embodiments.
In the prior art, a terminal device detects whether a paging message sent by a network device exists according to a paging cycle configured by the network device, if the paging cycle is long, an important paging message may be missed, and if the paging cycle is short, power consumption of the terminal device may be increased, so that how the network device configures an appropriate paging cycle to the terminal device is a problem that needs to be solved urgently.

The device type of the terminal device comprises: a lightweight terminal device or a normal terminal device. The current scene of the terminal equipment comprises the following steps: night scenes, low electric field scenes, forbidden scenes, high temperature scenes, etc.
Compared with the normal terminal device, the lightweight terminal device has fewer antennas, and the lightweight terminal device has lower requirements for bandwidth and time delay compared with the normal terminal device, so different paging cycles may be required for different device types of the terminal device, for example, for the lightweight terminal device and for the normal terminal device, and the paging cycle of the lightweight terminal device may be a bit larger than that of the normal terminal device.
For example, when the terminal device is a lightweight terminal device, the terminal device may select a paging cycle of 5.12s or 10.24s to transmit to the network device.
When the terminal device is in different scenes, the requirements for receiving the paging message are different, and then the terminal device selects different paging cycles to send to the network device.
Besides common scenes, some special scenes can be preset for the terminal equipment. For example, for office workers, due to reasons such as work, during the day, during the office hours, the telephone numbers are more, the paging messages need to be received normally, and the telephone numbers are not omitted, so that the time can be set to be a common scene, and the corresponding paging cycle can be set according to the convention, such as 1.28 s; however, 23:00 at night to 6:00 at early morning, people are usually in a sleep and rest state, the time period of paging messages is small, the time period can be set as a night rest time period, and then the corresponding paging cycle can be prolonged, for example, N times of the paging cycle of a common scene, where N is a positive integer greater than 1. The scene in the night rest time period is a special scene.
One or more special scenes can be preset in the terminal equipment. Optionally, the preset special scene includes at least one of the following scenes: forbidden scenes, high temperature scenes, low power scenes, arrearage scenes, night scenes.
Illustratively, when the terminal device is in a high temperature scene or a low power scene, further deterioration of the current state of the terminal device can be reduced by reducing the frequency of receiving paging messages, so the paging cycle can be extended. For example, when the terminal device is in an arrearage scenario, the terminal device cannot normally receive the paging message, so the paging cycle can be prolonged. Illustratively, the child watch is in a forbidden scene during school class, and does not support answering calls during the forbidden scene, so that the paging cycle can be prolonged, and the electric quantity of the smart watch can be saved.
For example, when the terminal device is in a nighttime scenario, the terminal device may select a paging cycle of 10.24s or 20.48s to send to the network device.
For example, when the terminal device is a lightweight terminal device and is currently in a nighttime scene, the terminal device may select a paging cycle of 20.48s or 40.96s to transmit to the network device.
The terminal equipment can also select different paging cycles to send to the network equipment according to the historical frequency value of the paging message received by the terminal equipment.
For example, when the terminal device receives the paging message 5 times in 10 minutes, the terminal device may select a paging cycle of 1.28s to transmit to the network device.
102. The network equipment receives a first paging cycle sent by the terminal equipment and configures a second paging cycle of the terminal equipment.
The network device may configure the second paging cycle of the terminal device through the SuspendConfig information in the existing protocol.
Illustratively, the implementation may be realized by RRC suspend config information in a related standard protocol, and the RRC suspend config information may be modified as follows:
Figure BDA0002867525830000141
the Chinese meaning of the standard protocol is as follows:
the RRC suspend config information includes an inactive radio network temporary identifier, a paging cycle, notification area information, a RAN-based notification area update, a timer value periodically updated by the RAN-based notification area, and a next hop link count.
Specifically, values of paging cycles are enumerated, that is, the paging cycles can be rf32, rf64, rf128, rf256, rf512 and rf 1024.
In the embodiment of the invention, rf512 and rf1024 are newly added contents. In the original standard protocol, paging cycles can be named as rf32, rf64, rf128 and rf256, and in the standard protocol, paging cycles can be named as rf32, rf64, rf128, rf256, rf512 and rf 1024.
In the embodiment of the invention, the network equipment receives a first paging cycle sent by the terminal equipment and configures a second paging cycle of the terminal equipment according to the first paging cycle.
Optionally, the configuring, by the network device, a second paging cycle of the terminal device according to the first paging cycle of the terminal device specifically includes: and the network equipment configures a second paging cycle of the terminal equipment according to the current load condition of the network equipment and the first paging cycle of the terminal equipment.
It should be noted that the network device may also configure the second paging cycle of the terminal device according to the current load condition of the network device and the first paging cycle of the terminal device. The network device may connect to multiple terminal devices and send paging messages to the multiple terminal devices, so the network device also needs to configure a suitable second paging cycle to the terminal devices according to the current load condition of the network device. If the second paging cycle is small, when the network device pages a plurality of terminal devices, a network collision situation may be caused, and the sending and receiving of paging messages may be delayed.
In this optional implementation manner, when the network device configures an appropriate paging cycle to the terminal device, the network device may not only configure the first paging cycle of the terminal device, but also configure the current load condition of the network device, so as to avoid a situation that the current load of the network device is too large and the paging message cannot be sent in the configured paging cycle, thereby reducing the loss of the network device.
103. And the network equipment sends the second paging cycle to the terminal equipment.
104. And the terminal equipment receives a second paging cycle sent by the network equipment.
The embodiment of the invention provides a paging cycle determining method, wherein a terminal device sends a first paging cycle for indicating the historical frequency of the terminal device for receiving paging messages to a network device under the condition that the terminal device is in an RRC (radio resource control) non-connected state; the network equipment receives a first paging cycle sent by the terminal equipment, configures a second paging cycle of the terminal equipment according to the first paging cycle, and sends the second paging cycle to the terminal equipment, and the terminal equipment receives the second paging cycle sent by the network equipment. In the technical scheme, the network device may configure a suitable second paging cycle to the terminal device according to the first paging cycle sent by the terminal device, that is, the paging cycle when the terminal device is in the RRC unconnected state is configured comprehensively according to the first paging cycle of the terminal device, so that it is ensured that the configured paging cycle is completely suitable for the current state of the terminal device, which may not affect the user of the terminal device and reduce the power consumption of the terminal device.
As an optional implementation manner, after the terminal device receives the second paging cycle sent by the network device, the method further includes: the network equipment sends a paging message to the terminal equipment according to the second paging cycle; and the terminal equipment receives the paging message sent by the network equipment according to the second paging cycle.
It should be noted that, after configuring the second paging cycle for the terminal device, the network device sends a paging message to the terminal device according to the second paging cycle; after receiving the second paging cycle sent by the network device, the terminal device receives the paging message sent by the network device according to the second paging cycle.
Illustratively, assume that the network device configures the terminal device with a second paging cycle of 1.28 s. Then the network device pages the terminal device every 1.28s and the terminal device receives pages from the network device every 1.28 s. If the network device has a useful paging message at the 4.6s and needs to page the terminal device, and then the 4.6s is right between the third paging and the fourth paging, the network device will send the useful paging message to the terminal device at the fourth paging sending time, and the terminal device will receive the useful paging message at the fourth paging receiving time.
Optionally, in this embodiment of the present invention, the first paging cycle includes: one of 0.08s, 0.16s, 0.32s, 0.64s, 1.28s, 2.56s, 5.12s, 10.24 s; the second paging cycle includes: one of 0.08s, 0.16s, 0.32s, 0.64s, 1.28s, 2.56s, 5.12s, 10.24 s.
It should be noted that the paging cycle may be a paging cycle parameter, which may specifically be represented as a time length, and is represented by rf8, rf16, rf32, rf64, rf128, rf256, rf512, and rf1024, where a unit of the paging cycle is an infinite frame, and is represented by rf, and an order of magnitude of the paging cycle is 10 ms; namely, 80ms equals 0.08s for rf8, 160ms equals 0.16s for rf16, 320ms equals 0.32s for rf32, and so on, 5120ms equals 5.12s for rf512, 10240ms equals 10.24s for rf 1024. The smaller the numerical value of the paging cycle is, the larger the power consumption of the terminal equipment and the network equipment is; the larger the value of the paging cycle is, the smaller the frequency of receiving the paging by the terminal device and the frequency of sending the paging by the network device are, i.e. the larger the delay time is.
Optionally, the paging cycle may also be set to a value less than rf8 for increasing the frequency of transmitting paging messages, such as rf4, rf 2; and can also be set to a value greater than rf1024 for reducing the frequency of transmitting paging messages, such as rf2048 and rf 4096.
Example two
As shown in fig. 2, the method for determining a paging cycle according to an embodiment of the present invention may further include the following steps:
201. the network equipment detects the condition that the network equipment sends the paging message to the terminal equipment in real time.
In the embodiment of the invention, under the condition that the terminal equipment is in the RRC connection state, the network equipment can detect the condition that the network equipment sends the paging message to the terminal equipment in real time.
It should be noted that the paging message is sent from the network device to the terminal device, and the terminal device only needs to receive the paging message. The network device detects the condition that the network device sends the paging message to the terminal device in real time, that is, the network device detects whether the network device sends the paging message to the terminal device at the current moment in real time.
Optionally, the network device may detect, according to a preset period, that the network device sends the paging message to the terminal device in the preset period.
For example, assume that the preset period is 0.1 s. Then the network device may detect whether the network device sends a paging message to the terminal device after 0-0.1s at 0.1 s; similarly, the network device can detect whether the network device sends the paging message to the terminal device within 0.1s-0.2s when the network device is within 0.2 s; the network device can detect whether the network device sends the paging message to the terminal device between 0.2s and 0.3s in 0.3s, and so on.
The optional implementation mode can enable the network equipment to detect the condition that the network equipment sends the paging message to the terminal equipment according to the preset period, and continuous detection is not needed, so that the power consumption of the network equipment can be reduced.
202. The network equipment sends a first indication message to the terminal equipment.
In the embodiment of the invention, the network equipment sends a first indication message to the terminal equipment when detecting that the network equipment does not perform data interaction with the terminal equipment within a first preset time length; the first indication message is used for indicating the terminal equipment to switch from an RRC connected state to an RRC unconnected state, wherein the RRC unconnected state comprises an RRC idle state and an RRC inactive state.
It should be noted that, if the network device detects that the network device does not perform data interaction with the terminal device within the first preset time period, the terminal device does not need to continue to maintain the RRC connected state, and at this time, the network device may send, to the terminal device, a first indication message for indicating that the terminal device is switched from the RRC connected state to the RRC unconnected state.
For example, assume that the first preset duration is 0.5 s. When the network device detects that the distance from the last data interaction with the terminal device has been 0.5s within 0.5s, the network device does not perform data interaction with the terminal device, and then the network device can send a first indication message to the terminal device, so that the terminal device can be switched to the RRC non-connected state.
Optionally, before the network device sends the first indication message to the terminal device, the method further includes: if the terminal equipment does not perform data interaction with the network equipment within a second preset time length, sending a first message to the network equipment; the network equipment receives a first message sent by the terminal equipment.
It should be noted that, if the terminal device does not perform data interaction with the network device within the second preset time period, the terminal device does not need to keep the RRC connected state, and at this time, a first message may be sent to the network device, where the first message is used to request to switch to the RRC unconnected state. After receiving the first message sent by the terminal device, the network device may send a first indication message to the terminal device, where the first indication message is used to instruct the terminal device to switch from the RRC connected state to the RRC unconnected state.
For example, assume that the second preset duration is 0.3 s. When the terminal device detects that the distance from the last data interaction with the network device at a certain time is already 0.3s, and the terminal device does not perform data interaction with the network device within the 0.3s, the terminal device may send a first message for requesting to switch to the RRC non-connected state to the network device at this time. After receiving the first message sent by the terminal device, the network device sends a first indication message to the terminal device, so that the terminal device can switch to the RRC non-connected state.
The optional implementation manner can enable the terminal device to actively request to switch to the RRC non-connected state when the preset time length is not subjected to data interaction with the network device, so that the power consumption of the terminal device is reduced.
203. The terminal equipment receives a first indication message sent by the network equipment, and switches the state of the terminal equipment to an RRC non-connected state in response to the first indication message.
In the embodiment of the invention, after receiving a first indication message sent by network equipment, terminal equipment responds to the first indication message of the network equipment and switches the state of the terminal equipment into an RRC non-connected state; wherein, the RRC non-connected state comprises an RRC idle state and an RRC non-activated state.
It should be noted that, when switching from the RRC connected state to the RRC unconnected state, the terminal device may report auxiliary information to the network device, where the auxiliary information may include at least one of the following:
(1) the RRC state recommended by the terminal device may be identified by a number, for example, 1 indicates a recommended RRC inactive state, and 0 indicates a recommended RRC idle state.
(2) For example, the terminal device may report that the target service type is a service type such as a high-Reliable low latency Communication (URLLC) and an enhanced Mobile bandwidth (eMBB).
(3) The power of the terminal device, e.g. the terminal device may indicate a low power.
(4) The movement status of the terminal device.
Further, the auxiliary information may further include other reference information, such as a duration of an RRC inactivity timer recommended by the terminal device. When the RRC inactivity timer times out, the network device determines the RRC state of the terminal device according to the state of the network device and at least one of the above (1) to (4).
The terminal equipment can report the auxiliary information through RRC signaling, MAC layer signaling and physical layer signaling.
Further, the terminal device may also report the auxiliary information through an RRC release signaling, or, an MAC CE.
After receiving the auxiliary information reported by the terminal device, the network device may instruct the terminal device to switch to an RRC idle state or an RRC inactive state according to the auxiliary information; the load condition of the network device can be considered preferentially, and the terminal device is instructed to be converted into an RRC idle state or an RRC inactive state according to the auxiliary information. If the load of the network equipment is lower, the terminal equipment is determined to be converted into an RRC idle state or an RRC non-activated state according to the auxiliary information reported by the terminal equipment; if the load of the network device is high, the network device may ignore the auxiliary information reported by the terminal device, and convert the terminal device into an RRC idle state.
Then the network device sends a first indication message to the terminal device, the terminal device is indicated to be converted into an RRC idle state or an RRC inactive state, and the terminal device enters the RRC idle state or the RRC inactive state according to the first indication message of the network device.
204. The terminal device sends a first paging cycle to the network device.
205. The network equipment receives a first paging cycle sent by the terminal equipment and configures a second paging cycle of the terminal equipment.
206. And the network equipment sends the second paging cycle to the terminal equipment.
207. And the terminal equipment receives a second paging cycle sent by the network equipment.
In the embodiment of the present invention, for the description of steps 204 to 207, please refer to the detailed description of steps 101 to 104 in the first embodiment, which is not repeated herein.
The embodiment of the invention provides a method for determining a paging cycle, wherein a network device can detect the condition that the network device sends a paging message to a terminal device in real time, and if the network device does not send the paging message to the terminal device within a first preset time length, the network device can send a first indication message to the terminal device, so that the terminal device responds to the first indication message and is switched to an RRC (radio resource control) non-connected state. The terminal device sends a first paging cycle to the network device when the terminal device is in the RRC unconnected state. The network equipment receives a first paging cycle sent by the terminal equipment, configures a second paging cycle of the terminal equipment according to the first paging cycle, and sends the second paging cycle to the terminal equipment, and the terminal equipment receives the second paging cycle sent by the network equipment. In the technical scheme, when the terminal device is in the connected state but does not receive the paging message, the network device may send a first indication message to the terminal device, so that the terminal device switches to the RRC non-connected state in response to the first indication message. Then, the network device configures a proper second paging cycle for the terminal device according to the first paging cycle sent by the terminal device. Therefore, the terminal equipment can be switched from the RRC connected state to the RRC unconnected state in time, and the paging cycle configured by the network equipment is completely suitable for the current state of the terminal equipment, so that the use of the user of the terminal equipment is not influenced, and the power consumption of the terminal equipment is reduced.
