Description

Playing system and method
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a playback system and method, and more particularly, to a playback system and method related to the position of a playback device.
Background
A wireless playback system (e.g., wireless audio system) typically includes a host and a plurality of wireless accessories (e.g., bluetooth or Wi-Fi speakers). The wireless auxiliary devices are positioned in a wireless network range to play specific network contents (such as music of a network music station) according to the setting of the host; if any of the wireless accessories is moved out of the network range, the wireless accessory can no longer play the specific network content.
In addition, if the wireless accessories play specific roles (e.g., front left channel, front right channel, back left channel, back right channel, etc.) according to their locations, even if a wireless accessory is still within the network after moving, the wireless accessory will change the role it should play according to its current location; however, the current technology cannot adjust the role of the wireless accessory device according to the position change of the wireless accessory device.
Disclosure of Invention
An object of the present disclosure is to provide a playing system and method to avoid the problems of the prior art.
An embodiment of a playback system of the present disclosure includes a master device and a plurality of slave devices. The main control device is used for executing a plurality of steps including: selecting data; actively or passively acquiring the position information of a plurality of slave devices, wherein the position information of the slave devices is determined in a wireless positioning mode; obtaining a distribution pattern according to the position information of the plurality of slave devices; comparing the distribution pattern with at least one part of the patterns of a plurality of pre-stored patterns to select one of the pre-stored patterns as a play pattern; and determining the playing parameters of the plurality of slave devices according to the position information of the plurality of slave devices and the playing mode to determine the playing effect of the plurality of slave devices for playing the data, or informing the plurality of slave devices of the role information determined according to the playing mode and the position information of the plurality of slave devices, so that the plurality of slave devices determine the playing parameters of the plurality of slave devices according to the role information. Each of the plurality of slave devices comprises a wireless communication circuit for the wireless positioning mode, and the plurality of slave devices are used for synchronously playing the data according to the control of the master device.
An embodiment of the playing method disclosed herein is executed by a main control device, and includes the following steps: selecting data; actively or passively acquiring the position information of a plurality of slave devices, wherein the position information of the slave devices is determined in a wireless positioning mode; obtaining a distribution pattern according to the position information of the plurality of slave devices; comparing the distribution pattern with at least one part of the patterns of a plurality of pre-stored patterns to select one of the pre-stored patterns as a play pattern; determining playing parameters of the plurality of slave devices according to the position information of the plurality of slave devices and the playing mode to determine the playing effect of the plurality of slave devices for playing the data, or informing the plurality of slave devices of role information determined according to the playing mode and the position information of the plurality of slave devices; and controlling the plurality of slave devices to synchronously play the data.

Detailed Description
Currently, many mobile playback devices (e.g., wireless speakers, wireless screens, mobile phones, tablet computers, wireless headsets, etc.) have a central processing unit and networking capability, and as long as they can obtain the URL (Uniform Resource Locator) of the played content, they can be regarded as independent playback systems. However, when these devices are out of the original network range, the prior art cannot make them continue to play; in addition, when the positions of these devices are changed, the prior art cannot adjust their playing roles according to their current positions. In view of the above, the present disclosure provides a system and a method for playing network data, which enable a playing device to continue playing the content of the original website after departing from the original network range; in addition, the present disclosure also provides a playback system and method capable of adjusting one or more playback devices or their playback roles after their positions are changed (e.g., the left channel device and the right channel device of a pair of bluetooth headsets exchange their playback roles after they exchange positions). Depending on the positioning accuracy requirement and application scenario, a known or self-developed indoor or outdoor positioning technique can be used by embodiments of the present invention to directly or indirectly detect the position of the playback device; for example, the positioning technology is a known or self-developed Wi-Fi positioning technology, and the maximum positioning error can reach within 2 meters; or known or self-developed Bluetooth positioning technology, and the maximum positioning error can reach within 1 meter; or known or self-developed Ultra-wideband (UWB) positioning technology, and the maximum positioning error can reach within 1 cm to 2 cm. since the positioning technique itself is not within the scope of the present invention, the details thereof are omitted here.
Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of a network data playing system according to the present disclosure. The network data playing system 100 of fig. 1 includes a first network circuit 110, a master device 120 and a first slave device 130. For example, the network data playing system 100 employs a known network architecture such as Mesh Wi-Fi (Mesh Wi-Fi) architecture; the first network circuit 110 is included in or attached to (attached to) a networking device, such as a Wi-Fi access point, a wireless network switch, or a mobile/tablet computer; the host 120 is a playback control device (e.g., a host for controlling playback of audio and/or video), such as a mobile phone/portable computer/wireless audio host/wireless video player; the first slave device 130 is a playback device (e.g., a device for playing audio and/or video) such as a mobile phone/portable wireless audio/video monitor. Those skilled in the art can derive many more examples from the above description. It is noted that the appearance of the devices/circuits shown in the drawings is for the purpose of understanding the present invention and is not intended to limit the practice of the present invention.
Please refer to fig. 1. The first network circuit 110 is a known or self-developed circuit that directly or indirectly accesses network resources (e.g., resources of the internet) for providing network data (e.g., audio and/or video data) to the master device 120 and the first slave device 130. The first network circuit 110 may be part of the master device 120 or independent of the master device 120 depending on the implementation or application context. Since the network communication technology itself is not within the scope of the present invention, details thereof are omitted here.
Please refer to fig. 1. The master device 120 can select data of a website through the first network circuit 110 according to user operation or execution of default software, and actively or passively transmit the website to the first slave device 130. In an exemplary embodiment, the host device 120 connects to the first network circuit 110 through a wired connection (e.g., an ethernet connection) or a wireless connection (e.g., a Wi-Fi connection) to obtain network resources. In one implementation example, the host device 120 directly transmits the website to the first slave device 130 in a wired or wireless manner without a third party; when the host 120 transmits the website to the first slave device 130 in a wired manner, the locations of the host 120 and the first slave device 130 may be fixed or not easily changed, and the first network circuit 110 may be included in or attached to a portable device, so that the distance between the first slave device 130 and the first network circuit 110 may be changed. In one implementation example, the host device 120 sends the address to the first slave device 130 when the first slave device 130 is connected; the master device additionally sends the address (i.e., the updated address) to the first slave device 130 when the address changes (i.e., the address changes to an updated address). In one implementation example, the master device 120 periodically/non-periodically sends the website address and/or the playing schedule to the first slave device 130 a plurality of times. In one implementation example, the master device 120 transmits the website address and/or the playing schedule to the first slave device 130 in response to the request of the first slave device 130; for example, when the first estimated distance is greater than the first threshold, the first slave device 130 requests the master device 120 to provide the website and/or the playing progress. In one implementation example, the master device 120 actively or passively transmits the playing progress (e.g., playing time/remaining playing time) of the content of the website to the first slave device. In one embodiment, the host device 120 itself is a playback device (e.g., a device that plays audio and/or video).
Please refer to fig. 1. The first slave device 130 is configured to perform a plurality of steps as shown in fig. 2, which include:
step S210: when a first estimated distance between the first slave device 130 and the first network circuit 110 is smaller than a first threshold, the content of the website is obtained and played through the first network circuit 110. In one embodiment, the first estimated distance is obtained by the aforementioned positioning technique. In one implementation example, the first network circuit 110 includes a wireless network circuit, and the first slave device 130 includes a wireless communication circuit, at least one of a wireless signal of the wireless network circuit and a wireless signal of the wireless communication circuit is used to estimate the first estimated distance; for example, the first slave device 130 receives the wireless signal of the first network circuit 110 and estimates the first estimated distance according to the strength of the wireless signal. In one exemplary embodiment, the step of playing the content of the website includes: the first slave device 130 plays the content of the website synchronously with the master device 120 according to the control of the master device 120 (e.g., play/pause/fast-forward/next track (next episode), etc.), wherein the master device 120 controls the playing progress but does not necessarily have a playing output interface (e.g., audio or screen). In one implementation, the first slave device 130 can play independently after acquiring the website address, or can play synchronously with other slave devices (e.g., a second slave device) according to the same playing rule, and the control of the master device 120 is not necessary.
Step S220: when the first estimated distance is greater than the first threshold, a second network circuit (e.g., the second network circuit 10 of FIG. 1) is searched and/or selected to attempt to continue playing the content of the web address through the second network circuit. In an implementation example, when the first estimated distance is greater than the first threshold, the first network circuit 110 and the first slave device 130 can be connected, but the quality of the connection may not be good; in the case where the estimated distance between the first slave device 130 and the second network circuit (if any) is less than the first estimated distance, the first slave device 130 may select the second network circuit to attempt to continue playing the content of the website. In one implementation example, the first estimated distance is a weighted distance, which is proportional to the increasing rate of the first estimated distance, i.e., the rate at which the first slave device 130 relatively leaves the first network circuit 110; therefore, the first slave device 130 can search and/or select the second network circuit early when the actual distance between the first slave device 130 and the first network circuit 110 has not reached the first estimated distance. In one implementation example, when the first slave device 130 continues to play the content of the website through the second network circuit, the first slave device 130 adjusts its own play parameters according to its capabilities (e.g., default/best decoding and/or play capabilities) or preset settings.
Please refer to fig. 1. The first slave device 130 can selectively perform the following steps as shown in fig. 3:
step S310: when the host 120 cannot be connected, the content of the website is continuously played through the first network circuit 110 until a predetermined condition is satisfied. The default condition is, for example, that the first slave device 130 finishes playing the current track/album, or finishes playing all tracks/albums on the playlist, or other master devices take over control of the first slave device 130.
Please refer to fig. 1. The first slave device 130 can selectively provide its capability information (e.g., decoding capability information and/or playing capability information) to the master device 120 actively or passively, so that the master device 120 can determine playing parameters (e.g., left and right channel allocation, high and low frequency enhancement/reduction, volume, etc.) of the first slave device 130 according to the capability information, thereby adjusting the playing effect of the first slave device 130. In one implementation example, when the first slave device 130 is used to play video (video) data, the capability information is, for example, video decoding capability information including Four-Character Codes (FourCC), and if the first slave device 130 does/cannot provide the FourCC, the master device 120 may consider the first slave device 130 as a device without video decoding capability; in addition, the Video decoding capability information may optionally include resolution information (e.g., image width/height), Video information (e.g., 5.1 channel and/or High Dynamic Range Video (HDR), frame rate (fps), bit rate (Mbps)), etc., if the first slave device 130 does not provide/cannot provide the certain Video decoding capability information, the master device 120 may set the certain Video decoding capability information of the first slave device 130 to a maximum value or a default value according to the certain Video decoding capability information, in an implementation example, when the first slave device 130 plays Video Data, the capability information is, for example, Video playing capability information, such as Extended Display capability Identification Data (EDID) version 2.0 (EDID 2.0).
As mentioned above, in an implementation example, when the first slave device 130 plays audio (audio) data, the playing capability information is, for example, audio decoding capability information such as Two-Character Codes (twoccs), and if the first slave device 130 does/cannot provide the twoccs, the master device 120 may regard the first slave device 130 as a device without audio decoding capability; in addition, the audio decoding capability information may optionally include EDID 2.0, channel number, bit rate (Kbps), sampling rate (sample rate), etc., and if the first slave device 130 does not provide/cannot provide the certain audio decoding capability information, the master device 120 may consider the certain audio decoding capability information of the first slave device 130 as a maximum value or a default value. In one implementation example, when the first slave device 130 plays audio data, the capability information is, for example, audio playing capability information such as the number of speakers and frequency response information (best frequency response section information and/or full frequency response information), if the first slave device 130 does not provide/cannot provide the number of speakers, the master device may consider the number of speakers as a default value (e.g., one), and if the first slave device 130 does not provide/cannot provide the frequency response information, the master device 120 may use a default frequency response information as the frequency response information of the first slave device 130.
Fig. 4 shows another embodiment of the network data playing system of the present disclosure. Compared to fig. 1, the network data playing system 400 of fig. 4 further includes a second slave device 410. The operation and characteristics of the second slave device 410 are the same as/similar to those of the first slave device 130, and thus, the features of the first slave device 130 can be applied to the second slave device 410 in a reasonable manner. It is noted that the location and decoding and/or playback capabilities of different slave devices may vary; the individual slave devices operate in cooperation with the first network circuit 110 and the master device 120 according to their location and capabilities; therefore, the connection distance upper limit between different slave devices and the first network circuit 110 may be different, and the playback parameters of different slave devices may also be different.
Fig. 5 shows an embodiment of a network data playing method according to the present disclosure, which is executed by a slave device (e.g., the first slave device 130 of fig. 1). The method of fig. 5 comprises the following steps:
step S510: obtaining a web address determined by a host device (e.g., the host device 120 of FIG. 1);
step S520: obtaining and playing the content of the website through a network circuit (e.g., the first network circuit 110 of FIG. 1);
step S530: determining whether an estimated distance between the slave device and the network circuit is greater than a threshold; and
step S540: when the estimated distance is greater than the threshold, another network circuit (e.g., the second network circuit 10 of FIG. 1) is searched and/or selected to attempt to continue playing the content of the web address through the another network circuit.
Since those skilled in the art can understand the details and variations of the embodiment of fig. 5 with reference to the disclosure of the embodiment of fig. 1 to 4, the repeated and redundant descriptions are omitted here.
Fig. 6 shows an embodiment of the playback system of the present disclosure, which is capable of adjusting its/their playback roles after the position of one or more playback devices has changed. The playback system 600 of fig. 6 includes a master device 610 and a plurality of slave devices 620; the host 610 is a playback control device (e.g., a host for controlling playback of audio and/or video), such as a mobile phone/portable computer/wireless audio host/wireless video player; each slave device 620 is a playback device (e.g., a device that plays audio and/or video), such as a cellular phone/portable wireless stereo/screen. In fig. 6, the slave devices 620 include three slave devices 622, 624, 626, however this is merely an example for understanding and is not used to limit the number of slave devices 620. According to the implementation requirement, the playback system 600 can be used for playing back non-network data (e.g., audio/video data of an optical disc or audio/video data of a storage device) or network data (e.g., audio/video content of a website). When the playback system 600 is used to play back network data, the playback system 600, such as the network data playback system 400 of fig. 1 or fig. 4, further includes a network circuit (e.g., the network circuit 60 of fig. 6) for obtaining network resources through the network circuit, the network circuit may be included in the host device 610 or independent from the host device 610; as described above, the network data playing systems 100 and 400 of fig. 1 and 4 can also be used as the playing system of the present disclosure.
Please refer to fig. 6. The host device 610 is configured to perform a plurality of steps, one embodiment of which is shown in fig. 7, including:
step S710: data is selected for playback.
The data may be non-network data or network data. When the data is network data of a website, the master device 610 selects the website through a network circuit, and actively or passively provides the website to the slave devices 620, so that the slave devices 620 can obtain and play the data of the website through the network circuit; further details of the above-described features are described in the embodiments of fig. 1-5.
Step S720: the position information of the slave devices is actively or passively acquired.
The location information is determined by a wireless positioning method, and may be explicit location information or data to be further processed by the master device 610 to calculate explicit location information. The description of the wireless positioning method is described in the previous paragraphs; other non-mentioned known or self-developed wireless positioning means may also be used in this step, where the implementation is possible. It is noted that each of the slave devices 620 includes a wireless communication circuit (e.g., Wi-Fi circuit/BT circuit/UWB circuit/Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) circuit, etc.) for the wireless location mode. It should be noted that the master control device 610 includes a wireless communication circuit, which can be selectively used in the wireless positioning method, so that the position information of the master control device 610 can be used as a part of the position information in the following steps.
Step S730: obtaining a distribution pattern according to the position information.
Referring to fig. 6, the slave devices 622, 624, 626 are respectively located at the front left, center and front right positions relative to the position of the master device 610, so that the master device 610 can determine what the distribution pattern is according to the position information (e.g., relative coordinate information).
Step S740: comparing the distribution pattern with at least one part of the patterns of a plurality of pre-stored patterns to select one of the pre-stored patterns as a play pattern.
The alignment can be achieved by known or self-developed pattern recognition (pattern recognition) techniques; the pre-stored mode associated with the one with the smallest error or meeting a condition (e.g., an error threshold or a condition set by a user) among the comparison results can be used as the playback mode. For example, the data selected in step S710 is audio data, the pre-stored patterns include a basic pattern (consisting of front left, front right and center speakers), a surround pattern (consisting of front left, front right, center, surround left and surround right speakers) and an enhanced surround pattern (consisting of front left, front right, center, surround left, surround right, surround left and surround right speakers), each of the patterns of the pre-stored patterns is represented by relative coordinate information, so that the master device 610 can determine that the distribution pattern of the slave device 620 of fig. 6 is most similar to the pattern of the basic pattern by comparing the distribution pattern with the patterns of the pre-stored patterns, and the master device 610 can select the basic pattern as the playback mode.
Step S750: determining the playing parameters of the slave devices according to the position information and the playing mode so as to determine the effect of the slave devices for playing the data; or informing the slave devices of the role information determined according to the play mode and the position information so that the slave devices can determine the play parameters thereof accordingly.
For example, the master device 610 determines the slave devices 622, 624, 626 to be front left, center and front right speakers according to the location information and the basic mode, and determines the playing parameters of the front left speaker (e.g., 100% left channel), the playing parameters of the center speaker (e.g., 50% left channel and 50% right channel) and the playing parameters of the front right speaker (e.g., 100% right channel). For example, the master device 610 informs the slave devices 622, 624, 626 of front left, center and front right stereo respectively according to the basic mode and the location information, and allows the slave devices 622, 624, 626 to determine their own playing parameters through the same/different algorithms according to their roles. For another example, the playback parameters of at least two of the slave devices 620 are different. It is noted that the master device 610 can selectively control the slave devices 620 to play the data synchronously.
Fig. 8 shows another embodiment of the playback system of the present disclosure. The playback system 800 of fig. 8 includes a master device 810 and a plurality of slave devices 820, wherein the slave devices 820 include slave devices 822, 824, 826, 828. The host 810 is configured to perform a plurality of steps, one embodiment of which is shown in fig. 7. For example, if the data selected in step S710 is image data, the position information of the slave device 820 obtained in step S720 is upper left, upper right, lower left and lower right positions (i.e., the positions of the slave devices 822, 824, 826, 828), the distribution pattern obtained in step S730 is a 2 × 2 pattern, and the pre-stored patterns obtained in step S740 include a 2 × 2 pattern (consisting of upper left, upper right, lower left and lower right screens) and a 3 × 3 pattern (consisting of upper left, upper middle, upper right, left, middle, right, lower left, lower middle and lower right screens), step S740 can determine that the distribution pattern of the slave device 820 of FIG. 8 is most similar to the pattern of the 2 × 2 pattern by comparing the distribution pattern with the patterns of the pre-stored patterns, thereby selecting the 2 × 2 pattern as the play mode, and step S750 makes the slave device 822 play an upper left quarter of an image according to the position information and the play mode, Slave device 824 plays the top right quarter of the image, slave device 826 plays the bottom left quarter of the image, and slave device 828 plays the bottom right quarter of the image. It is noted that when the playback system 800 is used for playing back network data, the playback system 800 further includes a network circuit (e.g., the network circuit 80 of fig. 8) for obtaining network resources through the network circuit, and the network circuit may be included in the host device 810 or independent from the host device 810.
Please refer to fig. 6 or fig. 8. Another embodiment of the steps executed by the master control device 610/810 is shown in fig. 9, which includes the steps S710 to S740, and further includes the following steps:
step S910: capability information of these slave devices is obtained actively or passively. The relevant details of this capability information are described in the preceding paragraphs.
Step S920: determining the playing parameters of the slave devices according to the position information of the slave devices, the playing mode and the playing capability information; or informing the slave devices of the role information determined according to the play mode, the position information and the capability information, so that the slave devices determine their own play parameters according to their roles. For example, if the master device 610 knows the low frequency response of the slave device 624 (e.g., below 300 Hz), which is the best effect in the current network range, the master device 610 can accordingly designate the content played by the slave device 624 as subwoofer. For example, if the master 810 knows that the resolutions of the slaves 820 are all 4K resolutions (e.g., 3840 × 2160 or 4096 × 2160), but the decoding capabilities are different (e.g., the slave 828 can decode two 4K streams, and the slaves 822, 824, and 826 can decode only one 4K stream), the master 810 can select an appropriate address to enable the slave with higher decoding capability to play higher quality video data (e.g., 4KP120, PIP (picture in picture) pictures, etc.).
Please refer to fig. 6 or fig. 8. Another embodiment of the steps performed by the master device 610/810, in addition to the steps of fig. 7, further includes the following steps as shown in fig. 10:
step S1010: and actively or passively updating the position information of the slave devices in the wireless positioning mode to obtain updated position information. According to the implementation requirement, step S1010 may optionally include "actively or passively obtaining the location information of the slave device newly joining the playback system through the wireless positioning method to obtain the updated location information". It should be noted that, when the location information of a part of the slave devices cannot be obtained, step S1010 obtains the updated location information according to the location information of the rest of the slave devices. For example, if two new slave devices are added to the playback system 600 of fig. 6 and located at the left and right positions, respectively, the master device 610 can obtain the updated position information, thereby selecting the surround mode and determining the playback parameters of each slave device; if the two new slave devices are removed from the playback system 600, the master device 610 can obtain the updated location information, thereby selecting the basic mode and accordingly determining the playback parameters of each slave device. For another example, if the positions of the slave devices 822 and 824 in fig. 8 are interchanged, the master device 810 can obtain the updated position information and cause the slave device 822 to play the top right quarter of the image and the slave device 824 to play the top left quarter of the image.
Step S1020: and obtaining an updated distribution pattern according to the updated position information.
Step S1030: comparing the updated distribution pattern with the patterns of the plurality of pre-stored patterns to select one of the plurality of pre-stored patterns as an updated playing pattern.
Step S1040: and determining the playing parameters of the slave devices according to the updated position information and the updated playing mode, or informing the slave devices of updated role information determined according to the updated playing mode and the updated position information so that the slave devices can determine the playing parameters thereof according to the updated role information.
