and receiving and playing the scenario content corresponding to the second scenario branch returned by the streaming media server.
Fig. 2 is a flowchart illustrating a method for playing interactive media content according to another embodiment of the present invention, as shown in fig. 2, the method includes:
step 201, a media content provider issues interactive media content to a streaming media server;
the interactive media content means that the same media content can have different plot trends and even ending. In addition, different plot runs may run to the same outcome.
In the interactive media content, each plot selection point can be provided with different plot branch options, and different plot branches correspond to different plot contents. For example, as shown in fig. 3, there are options 1-1 and 1-2 at scenario selection point 1, corresponding to different scenario branches 1 and 2, respectively; the plot selection point 2 is provided with options 2-1 and 2-2 which respectively correspond to different plot branches 1-1 and 1-2, and 1-2 goes to a branch 3-1; options 3-1 and 3-2 are arranged at the plot selection point 3 and respectively correspond to different plot branches 3-1 and 3-2; wherein, the scenario branch 1-1 corresponds to the ending 1, the scenario branch 3-1 corresponds to the ending 2, and the scenario branch 3-2 corresponds to the ending 3.
Specifically, the media content provider may produce interactive media content according to the scenario design of fig. 3 and then distribute the interactive media content to the streaming server.
Step 202, the streaming media server saves the interactive media content and sends index files of different scenario branches in the interactive media content to the client according to a streaming media protocol negotiated with the client;
specifically, the streaming media server encapsulates corresponding interactive media content into a network data packet through an encoder, and transmits the network data packet to all clients subscribing the media content, such as mobile phones, set top boxes, smart televisions and the like, so that the end user can independently select the media content to interact with the clients.
When the streaming media protocol is a dynamic adaptive streaming over hypertext transfer protocol (DASH) streaming media protocol, the index file is a Media Presentation Description (MPD) file;
when the streaming media protocol is a hypertext transfer protocol live streaming (HLS) streaming media protocol, the index file is an M3U8 file.
Step 203, the client starts playing the interactive media content, and when playing to a first plot selection point, a plot branch option corresponding to the first plot selection point is displayed;
specifically, the client analyzes the index file and displays indexes of different scenario branches corresponding to the first scenario selection point in a preset form;
the preset form is a dialog box or a picture and the like; the dialog box or the picture corresponds to the index of the different plot branches corresponding to the first plot selection point.
Step 204, when the client detects that the user selects the first plot branch corresponding to the first plot selection point, requesting the plot content corresponding to the first plot branch from the streaming media server according to the index of the first plot branch;
the user can select an interested branch according to a scenario branch option displayed by the client, and after the client detects the branch selected by the user, the client requests the streaming media server for the corresponding scenario content according to an index corresponding to the branch.
Step 205, after receiving the request, the streaming media server returns the scenario content corresponding to the first scenario branch to the client;
in step 206, the client receives and plays the scenario content corresponding to the first scenario branch returned by the streaming media server.
Wherein, the method also comprises:
when the scenario is played to a second scenario selection point, a scenario branch option corresponding to the second scenario selection point is displayed;
when detecting that a user selects a second scenario branch in scenario branch options corresponding to the second scenario selection point, the client requests scenario content corresponding to the second scenario branch from a streaming media server according to an index of the second scenario branch;
and receiving and playing the scenario content corresponding to the second scenario branch returned by the streaming media server.
And so on until the whole interactive media content is played.
According to the technical scheme provided by the embodiment, the client is responsible for playing the interactive media content and displaying the branch options for the user at the plot selection point; the user can play different plot contents by selecting corresponding options according to personal preferences at the plot selection point.
The technical scheme provided by the embodiment is different from the traditional television media content which only has a single ending, so that the user is limited to the same media content, the playing of multi-scenario and multi-ending interactive media content can be realized, and the user can select on the key nodes of the media content to obtain different viewing experiences.
Fig. 4 is a flowchart illustrating a method for playing interactive media content according to another embodiment of the present invention, as shown in fig. 4, the method includes:
step 401, a media content provider issues interactive media content to a streaming media server;
the media content provider can provide interactive media contents with different plots and different outcomes to the streaming media server. Such as that shown in fig. 3, and will not be described in detail herein.
Step 402, the streaming media server saves the interactive media content, and sends the index files of different scenario branches in the interactive media content to the client according to the streaming media protocol negotiated with the client;
wherein, the streaming media server can store the interactive media content in the form of data fragments.
Specifically, the streaming media server re-encodes the interactive media content provided by the media content provider into a network data packet, stores the data in the server in a form of fragments, and finally carries the data packet to transmit in a mode of selecting the following protocol according to actual requirements:
DASH (Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP, HyperText Transfer Protocol) Streaming media Protocol
Among them, in the DASH protocol, the composition of the codestream in the Media content is described by an MPD (Media Presentation Description) file. Wherein the file is organized in the form of XML (eXtensible Markup language). In the standard DASH protocol, the media segment data description format is as follows:
<SegmentURL media="segment-1.m4s"/>
in this embodiment, the protocol is extended, and a special field "MultiSessions" is customized in the file to describe different data fragment address index files, that is, to represent different scenario branches. Meanwhile, the content of options of different branches is described in the "MultiSessions" field for the client to display, as follows:
<MultiSessions media="segment-1_1.m4s"descript="yes"/>
<MultiSessions media="segment-1_2.m4s"descript="no"/>
HLS (HTTP Live Streaming, Hypertext Transfer Protocol) Streaming media Protocol
The HLS protocol describes the composition of the code stream in the media content through an M3U8 (a text file customized by the HLS protocol). In the standard HLS protocol, the media fragment data description format is as follows:
#EXTINF:
http://media.example.com/first.ts
in this embodiment, the protocol is extended, and when a scenario branch selection point is selected, a special field "# EXT-choice" is customized to describe different data fragment address index files. As follows:
#EXT-CHOICES:yes,
http://media.example.com/first_1.ts
#EXT-CHOICES:no,
http://media.example.com/first_2.ts
step 403, the client starts playing the interactive media content, and when playing the interactive media content to a first scenario selection point, a scenario branch option corresponding to the first scenario selection point is displayed;
specifically, when playing the media content, the client analyzes the M3U8 or MPD file according to the custom protocol content, and needs to be responsible for displaying the branch option content at the scenario branch selection point, and simultaneously, requests the server for the corresponding media content in response to the option made by the user to continue playing.
The branch option content can be displayed in the form of a dialog box or a picture with a hyperlink.
Specifically, the user may select the interactive media content via a remote control (for set-top boxes, smart tvs) or a cell phone (for smart phones), etc.; the client judges whether the interactive media content has a history bookmark according to the selection of the user, if so, the client requests the streaming media server for the media data after the bookmark position and plays the media data. Otherwise, the playing is started from the head. When the client identifies that the program is played to a plot branch point, displaying the branch option in the form of a dialog box or a picture and the like; the user judges the branch option, if the first scenario branch is selected by the remote controller or the mobile phone, the step 404 is entered; if the selection is abandoned, the branch option 1 is selected by default, and the step 404 is entered; if so, go to step 407.
Step 404, when the client detects that the user selects the first scenario branch corresponding to the first scenario selection point, requesting the streaming media server for scenario content corresponding to the first scenario branch according to the index of the first scenario branch;
step 405, after receiving the request, the streaming media server returns the scenario content corresponding to the first scenario branch to the client;
step 406, the client receives and plays the scenario content corresponding to the first scenario branch returned by the streaming media server;
step 407, the client quits the play, records the history bookmark, and directly displays the branch option in the next play.
Wherein, after step 406, the method may further comprise:
when the scenario is played to a second scenario selection point, a scenario branch option corresponding to the second scenario selection point is displayed;
when detecting that a user selects a second scenario branch in scenario branch options corresponding to the second scenario selection point, the client requests scenario content corresponding to the second scenario branch from a streaming media server according to an index of the second scenario branch;
and receiving and playing the scenario content corresponding to the second scenario branch returned by the streaming media server.
And so on until the whole interactive media content is played.
According to the technical scheme provided by the embodiment of the invention, the streaming media protocol is expanded, and a set of protocol standards are formulated for the cooperation of the server and the client, so that the workload of a media content provider is saved, and meanwhile, the open interactive media content also helps an operator or a platform to improve the user viscosity and improve the user experience.
