Description

Method for adjusting video dynamic contrast and display equipment
Technical Field
The present application relates to the field of display technologies, and in particular, to a method for adjusting video dynamic contrast and a display device.
Background
With the popularization of smart televisions and the popularity of network video playing platforms, television users use different network video playing platforms or application programs. In the process of playing videos by such video playing platforms or application programs, a flickering phenomenon caused by abnormal display timestamps of individual video frames due to soft decoding often occurs, and the experience is poor.
The display timestamp is abnormal, namely, the display timestamp is suddenly increased due to the problem of recording equipment; or because the writing time stamp is not monotonically increased at the time of encoding, the display time stamp becomes suddenly large. Such display timestamp anomalies occur in the network playback platform or application soft decoding.
The flicker problem in the previous video playing process, which is more common, is usually improved by reducing the dynamic contrast level value of the whole video, for example: and the network playing platform or the application program closes the dynamic contrast when the video is started or sets the dynamic contrast level value of the whole video as the lowest level of opening. The method reduces the dynamic contrast of the whole video, and influences the image quality effect of the whole video.

A flow chart of a method of adjusting the dynamic contrast of a video is illustrated in fig. 6.
With reference to fig. 6, the method comprises the following steps:
step S601: soft decoding the played video to obtain video information, wherein the video information comprises a display time stamp of a video frame;
in some embodiments, the video soft decoding results in an AVpacket (a data structure) in which the encoded compressed data is stored. Some of these data contain additional information such as Presentation Time Stamp (PTS), Decoding Time Stamp (DTS), data duration, index of the media stream in which it is located, etc. The display time stamp of the video frame is obtained from the AVpacket.
Step S602: detecting whether an unplayed video frame is an abnormal frame or not, wherein the abnormal frame comprises a video frame with an abnormal display timestamp;
if the unplayed video frame is an abnormal frame, step S603 is performed.
Step S603: calculating and comparing the average brightness of the abnormal frame and the video frame before the abnormal frame;
the calculation formula of the average brightness of the video frame is as follows:
Figure BDA0002714905730000191
wherein, LumaveFor average luminance, δ is a small constant to prevent the logarithm calculation from going to infinity. For example, δ may be 0.0001, Lum (x, y) is the luminance value of the pixel with coordinates (x, y), and N is the total number of pixels.
Step S604: and according to the comparison result, adjusting the dynamic contrast when the abnormal frame is played.
In some embodiments, if the average brightness of the previous video frame is within a first preset brightness range and the difference between the average brightness of the abnormal frame and the average brightness of the previous video frame is within a first preset difference range, the dynamic contrast ratio remains unchanged when the abnormal frame is played.
For example: a first predetermined brightness range N1Is [200, 300 ]), a first preset difference range X1And 0, 20), the average brightness of the abnormal frame is 260nit, and the average brightness of the video frame before the abnormal frame is 250 nit. The average brightness 250nit of the previous video frame of the abnormal frame is within a first preset brightness range, the average brightness difference value between the abnormal frame and the previous frame is 10nit, and 10nit is within the first preset difference value range, so that the influence of the abnormal frame on video playing can be judged to be small, and the dynamic contrast remains unchanged.
In some embodiments, if the average brightness of the previous video frame is within a first preset brightness range, the average brightness of the abnormal frame is greater than the average brightness of the previous video frame, and the difference between the average brightness of the abnormal frame and the average brightness of the previous video frame is within a second preset difference range, the dynamic contrast is reduced by a first preset value when the abnormal frame is played.
For example: a first predetermined brightness range N1Is [200, 300)), the second preset difference range X2Is [20, 30 ]]The first preset value is 1. The average luminance of the abnormal frame is 275nit, and the video before the abnormal frameThe frame average luminance is 250 nit. The average brightness 250nit of the previous video frame of the abnormal frame is within a first preset brightness range, the average brightness difference value of the abnormal frame and the previous frame is 25nit, 25nit is within a second preset difference value range, the average brightness 275nit of the abnormal frame is larger than the average brightness 250nit of the previous video frame, and when the abnormal frame is played, the dynamic contrast level value is-1, namely if the level of the dynamic contrast of the previous frame is played is 'middle', when the abnormal frame is played, the level of the dynamic contrast is reduced to 'low'.
In some embodiments, if the average brightness of the previous video frame is within a first preset brightness range, the average brightness of the abnormal frame is smaller than the average brightness of the previous video frame, and the difference between the average brightness of the abnormal frame and the average brightness of the previous video frame is within a second preset difference range, the dynamic contrast is increased by a first preset value when the abnormal frame is played.
For example: a first predetermined brightness range N1Is [200, 300)), the second preset difference range X2Is [20, 30 ]]The first preset value is 1. The average luminance of the outlier frame was 250nit and the average luminance of the previous video frame of the outlier frame was 275 nit. The average brightness 275nit of a previous video frame of an abnormal frame is within a first preset brightness range, the average brightness difference value of the abnormal frame and the previous frame is 25nit, 25nit is within a second preset difference value range, the average brightness 250nit of the abnormal frame is smaller than the average brightness 275nit of the previous video frame, and when the abnormal frame is played, the dynamic contrast level value is +1, namely if the level of the dynamic contrast of the previous frame is played is 'middle', when the abnormal frame is played, the level of the dynamic contrast is increased to 'high'.
In some embodiments, if the average brightness of the previous video frame is within a first preset brightness range, the average brightness of the abnormal frame is greater than the average brightness of the previous video frame, and the difference between the average brightness of the abnormal frame and the average brightness of the previous video frame is within a third preset difference range, the dynamic contrast is reduced by a second preset value when the abnormal frame is played.
For example: a first predetermined brightness range N1Is 200, 300,the third preset difference range is X3Is (30, + ∞) and the second preset value is 2. The average luminance of the outlier frame is 285nit and the average luminance of the previous video frame of the outlier frame is 250 nit. The average brightness 250nit of a previous video frame of an abnormal frame is within a first preset brightness range, the average brightness difference value of the abnormal frame and the previous frame is 35nit, 35nit is within a third preset difference value range, the average brightness 285nit of the abnormal frame is greater than the average brightness 250nit of the previous video frame, and when the abnormal frame is played, the dynamic contrast level value is-2, namely if the level of the dynamic contrast of the previous frame is played is 'high', and when the abnormal frame is played, the level of the dynamic contrast is reduced to 'low'.
In some embodiments, if the average brightness of the previous video frame is within a first preset brightness range, the average brightness of the abnormal frame is smaller than the average brightness of the previous video frame, and the difference between the average brightness of the abnormal frame and the average brightness of the previous video frame is within a third preset difference range, the dynamic contrast is increased by a second preset value when the abnormal frame is played.
For example: a first predetermined brightness range N1Is [200, 300 ]), a third predetermined difference range X3Is (30, + ∞) and the second preset value is 2. The average luminance of the outlier frame is 250nit and the average luminance of the previous video frame of the outlier frame is 285 nit. The average brightness 285nit of the previous video frame of the abnormal frame is within a first preset brightness range, the average brightness difference value between the abnormal frame and the previous frame is 35nit, 35nit is within a third preset difference value range, the average brightness 250nit of the abnormal frame is smaller than the average brightness 285nit of the previous video frame, and when the abnormal frame is played, the dynamic contrast level value is +2, namely if the level of the dynamic contrast of the previous frame is played is 'low', and when the abnormal frame is played, the level of the dynamic contrast is increased to 'high'.
In some embodiments, if the average brightness of the previous video frame is within a second preset range and the difference between the average brightness of the abnormal frame and the average brightness of the previous video frame is within a fourth preset difference range, the dynamic contrast ratio remains unchanged when the abnormal frame is played.
For example: first, theTwo predetermined brightness ranges N2Is [300, 500 ]]Fourth predetermined difference range X4Is [0,50 ]]The average luminance of the abnormal frame is 360nit, and the average luminance of the video frame before the abnormal frame is 400 nit. The average brightness 400nit of the previous video frame of the abnormal frame is within the second preset brightness range, the average brightness difference value between the abnormal frame and the previous frame is 40nit, and 40nit is within the fourth preset difference value range, so that the influence of the abnormal frame on video playing can be judged to be small, and the dynamic contrast remains unchanged.
In some embodiments, if the average brightness of the previous video frame is within a second preset range, the average brightness of the abnormal frame is greater than the average brightness of the previous video frame, and the difference between the average brightness of the abnormal frame and the average brightness of the previous video frame is within a fifth preset difference range, the dynamic contrast is reduced by a first preset value when the abnormal frame is played.
For example: a second predetermined brightness range N2Is [300, 500 ]]Fifth predetermined difference range X5Is (50, + ∞), the first preset value is 1. The average luminance of the outlier frame is 460nit and the average luminance of the previous video frame of the outlier frame is 400 nit. The average brightness 400nit of the previous video frame of the abnormal frame is within the second preset brightness range, the average brightness difference value between the abnormal frame and the previous frame is 60nit, 60nit is within the fifth preset difference value range, and the average brightness 460nit of the abnormal frame is greater than the average brightness 400nit of the previous video frame. When playing the abnormal frame, the dynamic contrast level value is-1, that is, if the level of the dynamic contrast of the previous frame is 'middle', when playing the abnormal frame, the level of the dynamic contrast is increased to 'low'.
In some embodiments, if the average brightness of the previous video frame is within a second preset range, the average brightness of the abnormal frame is less than the average brightness of the previous video frame, and the difference between the average brightness of the abnormal frame and the average brightness of the previous video frame is within a fifth preset difference range, the dynamic contrast is increased by a first preset value when the abnormal frame is played.
For example: a second predetermined brightness range N2Is [300, 500 ]]Fifth predetermined difference range X5Is (50, + ∞), the first preset value is 1. The average luminance of the outlier frame is 340nit and the average luminance of the previous video frame of the outlier frame is 400 nit. The average brightness 400nit of the previous video frame of the abnormal frame is within the second preset brightness range, the average brightness difference value between the abnormal frame and the previous frame is 60nit, 60nit is within the fifth preset difference value range, and the average brightness 340nit of the abnormal frame is smaller than the average brightness 400nit of the previous video frame. When playing the abnormal frame, the dynamic contrast level value is +1, that is, if the level of the dynamic contrast of the previous frame is 'middle', when playing the abnormal frame, the level of the dynamic contrast is increased to 'high'.
It should be noted that the maximum brightness of a typical display device is 500-1000nit, but after more than 500nit, the human eye cannot perceive the brightness change, and at the brightness less than 200nit, the human eye is regarded as black. Therefore, luminance greater than 500nit and luminance less than 200nit are not within the scope of dynamic contrast adjustment of the present application.
If the unplayed video frame is a normal video frame, step S605 is executed.
Step S605: calculating the average brightness of the normal video frame;
step S606: and calling the dynamic contrast corresponding to the average brightness when the normal video frame is played.
In some embodiments, the average brightness of the video frame is divided into three levels, the maximum brightness of the video frame is L _ max, and the three levels are 200-300nit, 300-500nit, and 500-L _ max nit according to the average brightness of the video frame, and the 3 levels of the dynamic contrast corresponding to the average brightness are "low", "medium", and "high", respectively.
Another method for adjusting the dynamic contrast of a video is illustrated in fig. 7.
With reference to fig. 7, the method comprises the following steps:
step S701: soft decoding the played video to obtain video information, wherein the video information comprises a display time stamp of a video frame;
step S702: detecting whether an unplayed video frame is an abnormal frame or not, wherein the abnormal frame comprises a video frame with an abnormal display timestamp;
if the unplayed video frame is an abnormal frame, step S703 is executed.
Step S703: calculating the average brightness of the abnormal frame and a video frame before the abnormal frame;
step S704: and judging whether the abnormal frame is larger than the average brightness of the previous video frame of the abnormal frame.
If the abnormal frame is larger than the average brightness of the video frame before the abnormal frame, step S705 is performed.
Step S705: when playing the abnormal frame, the dynamic contrast is reduced.
If the abnormal frame is not larger than the average brightness of the previous video frame of the abnormal frame, step S706 is performed.
Step S706: and judging whether the abnormal frame is smaller than the average brightness of the previous video frame of the abnormal frame.
If the abnormal frame is smaller than the average brightness of the video frame preceding the abnormal frame, step S707 is performed.
Step S707: when playing the abnormal frame, the dynamic contrast is reduced.
If the abnormal frame is not less than the average brightness of the video frame before the abnormal frame, i.e. the abnormal frame is equal to the average brightness of the video frame before the abnormal frame, step S708 is executed.
Step S708: the dynamic contrast remains unchanged when the abnormal frame is played.
If the unplayed video frame is a normal video frame, step S709 is executed.
Step S709: calculating the average brightness of the normal video frame;
step S710: and calling the dynamic contrast corresponding to the average brightness when the normal video frame is played.
In the above embodiment, the abnormal frame is identified before the abnormal video frame of the display timestamp is displayed, and the dynamic contrast is adjusted by comparing the average brightness of the abnormal frame with the average brightness of the previous frame. The flicker phenomenon caused by abnormal display time stamps of individual video frames due to soft decoding can be solved without reducing the dynamic contrast of the whole video, the smooth transition of the brightness of the video pictures is realized, and the user experience is improved.
