Detailed Description
In order to facilitate understanding of the technical solutions of the embodiments of the present application, the following explains key technologies related to the embodiments of the present application.
1) Network slicing
The Network provides different NSSAIs for different UEs, wherein one UE is only configured with one NSSAI Information, one NSSAI comprises one or more Single-Network slice Selection auxiliary Information (S-NSSAI), and each S-NSSAI corresponds to one Network slice.
In the 5G network, the terminal needs to go through a registration process to the 5G network to perform the relevant 5G service. The UE sends the Requested S-NSSAI (Requested NSSAI) to the RAN and the AMF in a Registration Request message (Registration Request), the AMF sends the Requested NSSAI to a Network Slice Selection Function (NSSF) to obtain an Allowed S-NSSAI (Allowed NSSAI), and the AMF sends the Allowed NSSAI back to the UE in a Registration Accept message (Registration Accept). Here, the role of the NSSF is to input the subscribed NSSAI for other network elements (e.g., AMF) to obtain the Configured NSSAI and/or the Allowed NSSAI for the UE.
The UE subsequently carries an S-NSSAI (one of the Allowed NSSAIs) in a Session request message of a Protocol Data Unit (PDU), the AMF on the Network side queries a corresponding Network Slice temporary identifier (NSI-ID) from the NSSF according to the S-NSSAI carried by the UE, and then the AMF sends the returned NSI-ID to a Network storage Function (NRF, Network redundancy Function), the NRF returns corresponding Session Management Function (SMF, Session Management Function) Network element information, and the AMF finds a corresponding SMF Network element through the information to generate a corresponding PDU Session, referring to fig. 2.
Here, NSSAI is classified into three types as follows:
1、Requested NSSAI
this information is used for the UE to apply for which S-nsais to be used, and the RAN may also send a non-access stratum (NAS) message of the UE to a specific AMF (AMF supporting Requested nsais) according to this information.
2、Subscribed NSSAI
The information is NSSAI information subscribed by the network side for the user, and when the NSSAI subscription information of the user changes, the UDM notifies the AMF to trigger the AMF to perform NSSAI Update Configuration for the UE, referring to fig. 1, the core network sends a UE Configuration Update request (UCU) message to the UE, and the UE sends a UE Configuration Update request reply (UCU Ack) message to the core network.
3、Allowed NSSAI
The AMF determines which are Allowed to be used according to the NSSAI requested by the UE in the Registration request message, and sends the Allowed NSSAI back to the UE in the Registration Accept message. The UE subsequently carries an S-NSSAI of the Allowed NSSAI in the PDU session setup request message for setting up the corresponding PDU session.
As shown in fig. 1, in the UE configuration update request message (which may also be referred to as UCU configuration information), the network side may carry Configured NSSAI configuration information (including one or more of Configured NSSAI, Mapping of Configured NSSAI, Allowed NSSAI, Mapping of Allowed NSSAI), MICO configuration information (including MICO mode), and an initiation Registration request indication (including "Registration is requested").
And after configuring the relevant information, the UE sends a UE configuration updating request reply message to the core network.
The UE subsequently performs a re-registration procedure.
2) Registration procedure
Referring to fig. 3, fig. 3 is a Registration flow diagram of the UE, in the Registration flow, the Registration Request message includes Requested NSSAI, and Registration Type is Initial/Update/occurrence, and after receiving the Registration Request message, the RAN may determine which AMF the NAS message of the UE is sent to according to the Requested NSSAI.
Here, starting the UE registration procedure after the UE configuration procedure is completed may be used in the following cases:
1. S-NSSAI parameter negotiation:
in the UE configuration process, after the UE receives UCU configuration information (including NSSAI configuration information) sent by the network, the UE may initiate a registration request based on Configured NSSAI. That is, the Requested NSSAI added by the UE in the registration request message is selected based on the Configured NSSAI. After receiving the message, the network side returns an Allowed NSSAI in a registration accept message, wherein the Allowed NSSAI is selected from the Requested NSSAI by the network side giving a certain condition.
After obtaining the Allowed NSSAI, the UE initiates the establishment and/or modification process of the PDU session.
2. MICO mode negotiation:
when the UE is in the mico (mobile Initiated Connectivity only) mode, it is not necessary to receive any downlink signaling or data sent by the network side, and all signaling or data transmission needs to be Initiated by the UE side.
In the UE configuration process, after receiving UCU configuration information (including MICO configuration information) issued by the network, the UE may initiate a registration request based on the new MICO parameter, where the request message includes a MICO reference parameter, the network side determines whether to allow the UE to operate in the MICO mode based on the parameter and a rule of the network side, and if so, adds "MICO mode" to the registration acceptance message, and then the UE operates in the MICO mode.
3. Replacement of serving network element (e.g. currently serving AMF):
when the new parameters are sent to the UE, the currently serving network element may not be able to support the new parameters, and the serving network element (e.g., AMF) needs to be replaced. Therefore, a "Registration is requested" indication may be added to the UCU configuration message, so that the UE may subsequently trigger a Registration request according to the indication after receiving the configuration information, and further change a serving network element (such as AMF) during the Registration process.
3) Session setup procedure
Referring to fig. 4, fig. 4 is a Session establishment flow chart, in the Session establishment flow, when the UE sends a PDU Session (PDU Session) establishment request message, the UE reports S-NSSAI, DNN, Access Type, PDU Session ID, and the like to the network side, so that the network establishes a required PDU Session for the UE according to the information.
In the above scheme, after the UE acquires the UCU configuration information, the timing of re-Registration (re-Registration) is not strictly specified, specifically: the specification for "Registration is requested" is as follows: when "Registration is requested" is included in the UCU configuration information, the UE needs to initiate a Registration (Registration) request when entering the CM-IDLE state. For this reason, the network side can actively initiate NAS or RRC signaling to release the connection, so that the UE becomes CM-IDLE state. However, there is no guarantee that the UE will not trigger the registration procedure itself for other reasons before the UE returns to the IDLE state, and therefore this needs to be limited. Furthermore, there is no provision for when the newly Configured parameters (e.g. Allowed NSSAI, Configured NSSAI) can be used, specifically: in the NSSAI configuration information, Configured NSSAI and Allowed NSSAI are not always available on the current serving network element, and need to be available after the network element replacement is completed, and therefore, a limitation is also needed.
Fig. 5 is a first flowchart of an information indication method according to an embodiment of the present application, and as shown in fig. 5, the information indication method includes the following steps:
step 501: a terminal receives a first UE configuration update message sent by a first core network element, wherein the first UE configuration update message comprises at least one of the following messages: the network element replacement method comprises the following steps of first NSSAI configuration information, registration request initiating indication information and target indication information, wherein the target indication information is used for indicating that the purpose of initiating a registration request is that a network element needs to be replaced.
In the embodiment of the application, the terminal can be any device capable of communicating with a network, such as a mobile phone, a tablet computer, a notebook computer, a desktop computer, a vehicle-mounted terminal, and the like.
In this embodiment, the first core network element refers to AMF, and the second core network element refers to NSSF.
In this embodiment, the first UE configuration update message is a UE configuration update request message (may also be referred to as UCU configuration information) shown in fig. 1, and includes NSSAI configuration information (including one or more of Configured NSSAI, Mapping of Configured NSSAI, Allowed NSSAI, Mapping of Allowed NSSAI), MICO configuration information (including MICO mode), and initiation Registration request indication (including "Registration is requested") information.
Step 502: and the terminal determines the time for initiating the registration request and/or the NSSAI configuration information capable of being used and/or the NSSAI configuration information incapable of being used according to the first UE configuration updating message.
In this embodiment of the present application, the terminal determines, according to the first UE configuration update message, a time for initiating a registration request and/or NSSAI configuration information that can be used and/or NSSAI configuration information that cannot be used, where the time for initiating a registration request and/or NSSAI configuration information that can be used and/or NSSAI configuration information that cannot be used may be divided into the following two cases:
the first condition is as follows: the first UE configuration update message carries first indication information, and the terminal determines, according to the first indication information, a time for initiating a registration request and/or NSSAI configuration information that can be used and/or NSSAI configuration information that cannot be used, specifically, the first indication information includes one or more of the following indication parameters:
the first indication parameter is used for indicating the terminal to immediately initiate a registration request;
a second indication parameter, configured to indicate that the terminal initiates a registration request after becoming an idle state;
a third indication parameter, configured to indicate that the terminal is not allowed to initiate a registration request before becoming an idle state;
a fourth indication parameter, configured to indicate the terminal to initiate a registration request at any time;
a fifth indication parameter for indicating that the terminal cannot use the first NSSAI configuration information and/or the specified NSSAI configuration information before initiating a registration request.
Here, when the UE receives a first UE configuration update message, where first indication information in the first UE configuration update message is the first indication parameter, the UE immediately performs a registration request in a connected state.
Here, in the case that the terminal receives the indication information for initiating the registration request before entering the idle state, the terminal performs a registration request procedure when the terminal moves out of a specific registration area or tracking area or a periodic location update timer expires. Here, if the terminal receives the second indication parameter, a registration request procedure is performed when the terminal moves out of a specific registration area or tracking area or a periodic location update timer expires, even though it is not in an idle state.
Case two: the terminal determines, according to the parameter in the first UE configuration update message, a time to initiate a registration request and/or NSSAI configuration information that can be used and/or NSSAI configuration information that cannot be used, and the following are some specific implementation manners:
1) if the first UE configuration update message includes the registration request initiation indication information and/or the destination indication information, the terminal does not actively initiate a registration request before returning to an idle state, and/or the terminal does not use the first NSSAI configuration information.
2) If the first UE configuration update message includes the first NSSAI configuration information and also includes the registration initiation request indication information and/or the destination indication information, the terminal determines that the first core network element does not support the first NSSAI configuration information, and the terminal does not use the first NSSAI configuration information and does not initiate a registration request before returning to an idle state.
3) If the first UE configuration update message includes the first NSSAI configuration information, and further includes the indication information for initiating the registration request and/or the indication information that the first NSSAI configuration information cannot be used before the registration request is completed, the terminal determines that the first core network element does not support the first NSSAI configuration information, and the terminal does not use the first NSSAI configuration information before returning to the idle state, but uses the second NSSAI configuration information delivered before. Further, the terminal does not initiate a registration request before returning to the idle state.
4) If the first UE configuration update message includes the first NSSAI configuration information but does not include the registration initiation request indication information, the terminal determines that a first core network element supports the first NSSAI configuration information, and the terminal immediately uses the first NSSAI configuration information.
In the foregoing solution, the first NSSAI configuration information includes Configured NSSAI and/or Allowed NSSAI; wherein the Configured NSSAI comprises one or more S-NSSAIs, and the Allowed NSSAI comprises one or more S-NSSAIs.

In an example, the second core network element sends, to the first core network element, Configured NSSAI and/or Allowed NSSAI supported by the first core network element serving the terminal. In another example, the second core network element sends a Configured NSSAI and/or an Allowed NSSAI serving the terminal to the first core network element, and the first core network element sends the Configured NSSAI and/or the Allowed NSSAI supported by the first core network element to the terminal and carries the registration request initiation indication information. Here, after the terminal initiates a registration request and a core network element serving the terminal is changed from the first core network element to a third core network element, the second core network element sends all Configured nsais and/or Allowed nsais sent to the first core network element to the third core network element.
In a specific implementation, when the subscription NSSAI changes, the AMF carries a "query purpose" or initiate UCU configuration "when sending a message to the NSSF, where the message is used to obtain relevant information of Configured NSSAI and/or Allowed NSSAI for the UE, and the Configured NSSAI and/or Allowed NSSAI information returned by the NSSF cannot be supported by the current AMF. That is, if the default UE is immediately available for the newly acquired Allowed NSSAI, then the NSSF is unable to add to the Allowed NSSAI an Allowed NSSAI that is not currently supported by the UE.
