Abstract
The invention provides an airbag assembly, a vehicle center armrest and a vehicle. An airbag assembly is disposed at a rear end of a center armrest of the vehicle, an airbag body of the airbag assembly including a first portion when deployed, the first portion of the airbag body forming an air cushion that deploys laterally behind the primary and secondary seats. The airbag assembly according to the embodiment of the invention can effectively protect the passengers in the rear row of the vehicle and avoid the injury caused by the contact of the limbs of the primary driver and the secondary driver when the vehicle collides.
Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of vehicle safety systems, and more particularly, to an airbag assembly, a vehicle center armrest, and a vehicle.
Background
Along with the popularization of vehicles, traffic accidents are more and more. The airbag of a vehicle constitutes an important part of a passive safety system of the vehicle, and can secure the safety of an occupant in the event of a vehicle collision. The safety airbags of the existing vehicles are mainly concentrated on the front side of a main driving position and a secondary driving position, and for rear-row passengers, the safety airbags are not generally distributed, and the rear-row passengers often do not fasten safety belts in the riding process, so that great potential safety hazards exist.
Disclosure of Invention
It is an object of the present invention to solve or at least alleviate problems in the prior art.
According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided an airbag assembly disposed at a rear end of a center armrest of a vehicle, an airbag body of the airbag assembly, when deployed, including a first portion that forms an air cushion that is deployed laterally behind a primary and secondary seats.
Optionally, in the airbag assembly, the airbag body of the airbag assembly further comprises a second portion when deployed, the second portion of the airbag body forming an air cushion that is deployed longitudinally between the primary and secondary seats.
Optionally, in the airbag assembly, the airbag body is T-shaped in cross-section when deployed.
Optionally, in the airbag assembly, the airbag assembly includes:
a housing;
a baffle and a gas generator in the housing; and
an airbag main body connected to the gas generator.
Optionally, in the airbag assembly, one or more internal drawstrings are included in the first and/or second portions of the airbag body for controlling the configuration of the airbag body.
Optionally, in the airbag assembly, the one or more internal drawstrings extend in a thickness direction of the first portion and/or the second portion of the airbag body.
Optionally, in the airbag assembly, the first portion of the airbag body has a thickness in the range of 150mm to 250mm and the second portion of the airbag body has a thickness in the range of 250mm to 350 mm.
In another aspect, there is provided a vehicle center armrest having a rear end for disposing an airbag assembly according to various embodiments of the present invention, wherein the rear end of the vehicle center armrest includes a cover plate covering the airbag body.
Optionally, in the vehicle center armrest, the cover plate includes a first cover plate connected to a roof panel at a rear end of the center armrest and a second cover plate connected to a rear cover at a rear end of the center armrest.
Optionally, in the vehicle center armrest, one side of the first cover plate is pivotally connected to a roof panel at a rear end of the center armrest, and one side of the second cover plate is pivotally connected to a rear panel at a rear end of the center armrest, and the other sides of the first and second cover plates are connected to each other by a line of weakness, and when the airbag assembly is activated, the line of weakness is broken and the first and second cover plates pivot open.
In another aspect, a vehicle is provided that includes an airbag assembly according to an embodiment of the invention.
The airbag assembly according to the embodiment of the present invention can effectively protect a rear passenger of a vehicle in a vehicle collision.

Detailed Description
It is easily understood that according to the technical solution of the present invention, a person skilled in the art can propose various alternative structures and implementation ways without changing the spirit of the present invention. Therefore, the following detailed description and the accompanying drawings are merely illustrative of the technical aspects of the present invention, and should not be construed as all of the present invention or as limitations or limitations on the technical aspects of the present invention.
The terms of orientation of up, down, left, right, front, back, top, bottom, and the like referred to or may be referred to in this specification are defined relative to the configuration shown in the drawings, and are relative terms, and thus may be changed correspondingly according to the position and the use state of the device. Therefore, these and other directional terms should not be construed as limiting terms.
As shown in fig. 1 and 2, the vehicle, such as a general five-seater or seven-seater vehicle, includes: main and auxiliary seats 1,2, rear seats 3 and central armrests 4. An airbag assembly 5 according to an embodiment of the present invention is disposed at a rear end 41 of the center armrest 4. When the airbag body of the airbag assembly 5 is deployed, it includes a first portion 51 and an optional second portion 52, the first portion 51 of the airbag body forming an air cushion that is deployed laterally behind the main and passenger seats 1,2 (backrest). As shown in fig. 6, the first portion 51 of the airbag main body provides cushioning to the occupant 31 in the rear seat to prevent the occupant 31 from directly hitting the main and sub-seats in the event of a vehicle collision. On the other hand, even if the rear-seat passenger 31 is unbelted, the first portion 51 of the airbag main body prevents the passenger 31 from flying forward by inertia from between the main and sub-driver seats to hit the front windshield of the vehicle. On the other hand, the airbag main body may further include a second portion 52, the second portion 52 forming an air cushion longitudinally deployed between the main and sub-driver seats 2,1, the second portion 52 of the airbag main body providing side protection of the main and sub-driver passengers and preventing the main and sub-driver passengers from colliding with each other.
In some embodiments, the balloon body may be T-shaped in cross-section when deployed. In alternative embodiments, the balloon body may also have other suitable shapes in cross-section. In some embodiments, the first and second portions 51 and 52 of the balloon body may each be of substantially equal thickness flat construction, wherein the thickness of the first portion of the balloon body may be in the range of 150mm to 250mm and the thickness of the second portion of the balloon body may be in the range of 250mm to 350 mm. In some embodiments, to maintain the shape of the airbag body when deployed, one or more internal drawstrings may be included in the first and/or second portions of the airbag body 50. In some embodiments, the inner drawstrings may extend in the thickness direction of the first and second portions of the airbag body, respectively. For example, as shown in FIG. 7, three inner drawstrings 511,512,513 may be provided in the first portion 51 of the airbag body, each extending in the thickness direction of the first portion 51 of the airbag body, and one inner drawstring provided in the second portion 52 of the airbag body, each extending in the thickness direction of the second portion 52 of the airbag body. In alternative embodiments, the number, configuration and location of the internal drawstrings may be modified according to actual requirements, and the internal drawstrings function to control the configuration of the airbag body and direct the air flow to rapidly fill the airbag body.
With continued reference to fig. 3 and 4, the specific structure of the airbag assembly 5 according to the present invention will be described. The airbag assembly may include: a housing 501; a baffle 502 and a gas generator 503 in the housing 501; and an airbag main body 50 connected to the gas generator 502. The gas generator 503 may inflate the airbag body, and the deflector 502 limits the direction of the gas exiting from the gas generator 503. As shown in fig. 3, the airbag main body 50 has a compact mechanism before being deployed so as to be able to be disposed at the rear end 41 of the center armrest.
In another aspect, the present invention also provides a center armrest configured with an airbag assembly according to an embodiment of the present invention. In some embodiments, the rear end 41 of the vehicle center armrest 4 includes a cover plate that covers the airbag body 50, and with continued reference to fig. 5 and 6, the structure of the center armrest 4 is shown with an airbag assembly according to an embodiment of the invention disposed therein, respectively. In this embodiment, the cover plates include a first cover plate 61 connected to the top cover 411 of the center armrest rear end 41 and a second cover plate 62 connected to the rear cover 412 of the center armrest rear end 41. In some embodiments, one side of the first cover plate 61 is pivotally connected (e.g., by a hinge) to the top cover 411 at the rear end of the center armrest, and one side of the second cover plate 62 is pivotally connected (e.g., by a hinge) to the rear cover 412 at the rear end of the center armrest, and the other sides of the first and second cover plates 61 and 62 are connected to each other by a weakening structure, so that the first and second cover plates 61 and 62 cover the airbag assembly to conceal it when the airbag is not activated. When the airbag is triggered, the weakened structure between the first cover plate 61 and the second cover plate 62 is broken, and the first cover plate 61 and the second cover plate 62 are pivoted open, respectively, thereby allowing the airbag main body 50 to be deployed in the shape as shown in fig. 5.
In another aspect, a vehicle is provided that includes an airbag assembly according to an embodiment of the invention.
The airbag assembly according to the embodiment of the invention can effectively protect front and rear occupants in a vehicle upon a vehicle collision.

Various modifications or changes to the invention will be readily apparent to those skilled in the art without departing from the scope of the invention. It is to be understood that such modifications and variations are intended to be included within the scope of the present invention.
Claims (11)
1. An airbag assembly disposed at a rear end of a center armrest of a vehicle, an airbag body of the airbag assembly including a first portion when deployed, the first portion of the airbag body forming an air cushion that deploys laterally behind a primary and secondary seat.
2. The airbag assembly of claim 1, wherein the airbag body of the airbag assembly, when deployed, further comprises a second portion, the second portion of the airbag body forming an air cushion that deploys longitudinally between the primary and secondary seats.
3. The airbag assembly of claim 2, wherein the airbag body is T-shaped in cross-section when deployed.
4. The airbag assembly of claim 1 or 2, comprising:
a housing;
a baffle and a gas generator in the housing; and
an airbag main body connected to the gas generator.
5. The airbag assembly of claim 2, wherein the first and/or second portions of the airbag body include one or more internal drawstrings therein for controlling the configuration of the airbag body.
6. The airbag assembly of claim 5, wherein the one or more internal drawstrings extend in a thickness direction of the first portion and/or the second portion of the airbag body.
7. The airbag assembly of claim 2, wherein the first portion of the airbag body has a thickness in a range of 150mm to 250mm and the second portion of the airbag body has a thickness in a range of 250mm to 350 mm.
8. A vehicle center armrest, characterized in that a rear end of the vehicle center armrest is provided with an airbag assembly according to any one of claims 1 to 7, wherein the rear end of the vehicle center armrest includes a cover plate that covers the airbag body.
9. The vehicle center armrest of claim 8, wherein the cover plate comprises a first cover plate connected to a roof cover of the center armrest rear end and a second cover plate connected to a rear cover of the center armrest rear end.
10. The vehicle center armrest according to claim 9, wherein one side of the first cover plate is pivotally connected to a top cover of the center armrest rear end, and one side of the second cover plate is pivotally connected to a rear cover of the center armrest rear end, and the other sides of the first and second cover plates are connected to each other by a weakening structure, and when the airbag assembly is activated, the weakening structure is broken and the first and second cover plates pivot open.
11. A vehicle comprising an airbag assembly according to any of claims 1 to 7.
