The invention provides a BMC setting strategy updating method and equipment, wherein the method comprises the following steps: establishing an information table of hardware combinations and configuring a heat dissipation strategy for each combination in the information table; uploading the information table and the heat dissipation strategy to a server; in response to receiving a request for updating a heat dissipation strategy from a client, acquiring updated hardware combination information contained in the request; retrieving in the information table according to the updated hardware combination information; transmitting the heat dissipation strategy matched with the updated hardware combination information to the client; and the client executes the matched heat dissipation strategy to complete the updating of the BMC. By using the method, management of software and hardware of the server can be controlled through data interaction and analysis, introduction of a heat dissipation strategy is realized, and system power consumption is optimized, so that the purposes of energy conservation and emission reduction are achieved.

The invention adopts database knowledge and uses a configuration preprocessing mode to carry out the pre-simulation design of the cooling policy test, the BIOS working mode and the BMC working mode on the configuration which possibly appears in a hardware system in advance. The BIOS setting and the BMC working mode of the system are optimized, then the system is solidified to a system database, after products leave a factory, the devices automatically match database data according to own hardware configuration, and then the BMC setting is imported, so that the purposes of optimizing system power consumption and rapidly deploying are achieved.
And the BMC engineer combs the hardware configuration of the machine possibly, and completes the development of the BMC code of the machine type. Hardware configurations which may appear in all machines are integrated together to form a record to construct an information table, then a unique identification code is added to each combination in the information table, and development and testing of BMC functions are performed according to each combination, so that heat dissipation strategies and power consumption are mainly optimized. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the updated hardware combination information includes hardware information added by the user.
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, obtaining the updated hardware combination information included in the request includes:
