Detailed Description
Exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure will be described in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. While exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure are shown in the drawings, it should be understood that the present disclosure may be embodied in various forms and should not be limited to the embodiments set forth herein. Rather, these embodiments are provided so that this disclosure will be thorough and complete, and will fully convey the scope of the disclosure to those skilled in the art.
The embodiment of the invention provides an advertisement monitoring and broadcasting system which can monitor the advertising situation of an advertisement put by an advertiser. An advertiser refers to an organization or an individual who self-or entrusts to place advertisements for the purpose of promoting goods or providing services. The advertisement refers to a network advertisement.
FIG. 1 shows a schematic diagram of an advertisement monitoring system 100 according to one embodiment of the present invention. As shown in fig. 1, the advertisement monitoring system 100 includes a front end 110 and an advertisement monitoring device 120. The head end 110 may communicate with the ad monitoring device 120 over one or more networks, such as a Local Area Network (LAN) or a Wide Area Network (WAN), such as the internet.
The front end 110 may be any requestor that needs to be monitored for advertisements. For example, in one embodiment, front end 110 is part of an advertisement delivery system. The advertisement delivery system may deliver the advertisement according to the configuration information of the advertisement (the configuration information may include, for example, delivery rules set by an advertiser for the advertisement), and send an advertisement monitoring request including the configuration information of the advertisement to the advertisement monitoring device 120 after delivery is completed, so that the advertisement monitoring device 120 monitors delivery of the advertisement in response to the advertisement monitoring request.
The front end 110 may also be an advertisement data storage system. The advertisement data storage system may store the configuration information of the advertisement after the advertisement is delivered, and send the configuration information of the advertisement to the advertisement monitoring and broadcasting device 120. The advertisement monitoring device 120 may monitor placement of the advertisement in response to receiving the configuration information of the advertisement.
Embodiments of the present invention are not limited to a particular form of front end 110. The ad hosting device 120 may receive the request of the front end 110 in various ways. For example, ad serving device 120 may provide an Application Program Interface (API) with a predetermined format definition to facilitate front end 110 to organize and transmit ad serving requests to ad serving device 120 according to the definition.
It will be appreciated that pages are often designed to present advertising spots therein for sale in order to cater to advertisers who wish to present advertisements. These ad spots may be sold to advertisers and configured to be presented with advertisements when a user accesses the page. The ad position may be, for example, but not limited to, the top, bottom, or middle of the page. The invention is not limited to the specific location of the advertisement position in the page, and any position in the page that can be used for displaying the advertisement is within the scope of the invention.
As shown in FIG. 1, the ad monitoring system 100 may also include an ad location storage device 130. Advertisement location storage 130 is coupled to advertisement monitoring apparatus 120 and may store advertisement location information for one or more advertisement locations.
The ad location information may include an ad location identification that uniquely identifies the ad location and may also indicate a page associated with the ad location (e.g., may include a network address of the page associated with the ad location). The user can view the advertisement displayed at the advertisement location at least by accessing a page associated with the advertisement location.
In some embodiments, the ad location information may also include the type of device accessing the ad location. It will be appreciated that a user may use different types of devices to access the page to view the advertisement displayed at the advertisement location. If the advertisement location information includes a device type (which may be, for example, a cell phone, a tablet computer, a desktop computer, a notebook computer, etc.), it indicates that the user may only be able to view the advertisement displayed at the advertisement location using a device of the device type.
In some embodiments, the advertisement location information may also indicate a page element in which the advertisement location is located, including, for example, an identification of the page element in which the advertisement location is located. As will be appreciated by those skilled in the art, browsers typically display pages by constructing a plurality of page elements. The page element identification of the advertisement position can uniquely identify the page element of the advertisement position. Typically, the page element may be a Document Object Model (DOM).
In some embodiments, the advertisement location information may also include a frame parameter of the page element in which the advertisement location is located. The frame parameter of the page element where the advertisement position is located may be used to draw a frame for the page element, that is, to draw a frame for the advertisement displayed at the advertisement position. The border parameters may include the line type, line width, line color, etc. of the border. In some implementations, the bezel parameters may be implemented by CSS expressions.
In some embodiments, the advertisement location information may also indicate whether the advertisement location is capable of targeted display of the advertisement. In some cases, advertisers may desire that advertisements be targeted only to certain regions, i.e., targeted to display the advertisements to users in certain regions. Indicating advertising locations that are capable of targeted display of advertisements may allow advertisements to be displayed only to users in certain regions.
In still other embodiments, the ad location information may also indicate a script of the ad location association, including, for example, a script identification of the ad location association. The script identification is used to uniquely identify the script. Typically, the ad position is directly visible by accessing a page associated with the ad position. However, some advertisement positions have a long arrival path, and the user is required to display the advertisement position after performing various operations on the page related to the advertisement position. For example, the user may be required to click on different listings on the page, or click on different tab listings, or swipe some area on the page, or click on a link on the page to jump to another page, etc., to be able to display the ad location. In this case, the associated script may be configured for the ad slot. The script may include instructions. The instructions contained in the execution script may simulate the user's operation on the page so that the ad position is exposed unobscured.
As further shown in fig. 1, these ad slot associated scripts may be stored in a script storage device 140 coupled to ad monitoring apparatus 120. Although script storage 140 is shown as being separate from ad location storage 130, it may also be part of ad location storage 130.
According to an embodiment of the present invention, each component (front end 110, apparatus 120, device 130, etc.) in the advertisement monitoring system 100 may be implemented by the computing device 200 as described below.
FIG. 2 shows a schematic diagram of a computing device 200, according to one embodiment of the invention. As shown in FIG. 2, in a basic configuration 202, a computing device 200 typically includes a system memory 206 and one or more processors 204. A memory bus 208 may be used for communication between the processor 204 and the system memory 206.
Depending on the desired configuration, the processor 204 may be any type of processor, including but not limited to: a microprocessor (μ P), a microcontroller (μ C), a Digital Signal Processor (DSP), or any combination thereof. The processor 204 may include one or more levels of cache, such as a level one cache 210 and a level two cache 212, a processor core 214, and registers 216. Example processor cores 214 may include Arithmetic Logic Units (ALUs), floating Point Units (FPUs), digital signal processing cores (DSP cores), or any combination thereof. The example memory controller 218 may be used with the processor 204, or in some implementations the memory controller 218 may be an internal part of the processor 204.
Depending on the desired configuration, system memory 206 may be any type of memory including, but not limited to: volatile memory (such as RAM), non-volatile memory (such as ROM, flash memory, etc.), or any combination thereof. System memory 206 may include an operating system 220, one or more applications 222, and program data 224. In some implementations, the application 222 can be arranged to execute instructions on the operating system with the program data 224 by the one or more processors 204.
Computing device 200 may also include an interface bus 240 that facilitates communication from various interface devices (e.g., output devices 242, peripheral interfaces 244, and communication devices 246) to the basic configuration 202 via the bus/interface controller 230. The example output device 242 includes a graphics processing unit 248 and an audio processing unit 250. They may be configured to facilitate communication with various external devices, such as a display or speakers, via one or more a/V ports 252. Example peripheral interfaces 244 can include a serial interface controller 254 and a parallel interface controller 256, which can be configured to facilitate communications with external devices such as input devices (e.g., keyboard, mouse, pen, voice input device, touch input device) or other peripherals (e.g., printer, scanner, etc.) via one or more I/O ports 258. An example communication device 246 may include a network controller 260, which may be arranged to facilitate communications with one or more other computing devices 262 over a network communication link via one or more communication ports 264.
A network communication link may be one example of a communication medium. Communication media may typically be embodied by computer readable instructions, data structures, program modules, and may include any information delivery media, such as carrier waves or other transport mechanisms, in a modulated data signal. A "modulated data signal" may be a signal that has one or more of its data set or its changes made in such a manner as to encode information in the signal. By way of non-limiting example, communication media may include wired media such as a wired network or private-wired network, and various wireless media such as acoustic, radio Frequency (RF), microwave, infrared (IR), or other wireless media. The term computer readable media as used herein may include both storage media and communication media.
Computing device 200 may be implemented as a server, such as a database server, an application server, a WEB server, and the like, or as a personal computer including desktop and notebook computer configurations. Of course, computing device 200 may also be implemented as part of a small-sized portable (or mobile) electronic device, such as a mobile terminal.
In an embodiment according to the present invention, the computing device 200 may be implemented as the advertisement monitoring apparatus 120 according to an embodiment of the present invention and configured to execute the advertisement monitoring method 300 according to an embodiment of the present invention.
The application 222 of the computing device 200 includes a plurality of instructions for executing the advertisement monitoring method 300 according to the embodiment of the present invention, and the program data 224 may further store the configuration data of the advertisement monitoring system 100.
Fig. 3 shows a flow diagram of an advertisement break monitoring method 300 according to one embodiment of the invention. The ad monitoring method 300 is adapted to be executed in the ad monitoring device 120.
As shown in fig. 3, the advertisement monitoring method 300 begins with step S310. In step S310, a page related to the advertisement position is accessed and displayed based on the configuration information of the advertisement and/or the advertisement position information corresponding to the advertisement.
Specifically, configuration information for an advertisement may be received first, which may be sent by a device, such as the front end 110, after displaying the advertisement according to the configuration information. The configuration information for the advertisement may include advertisement content. The advertising content may include text, images, or a combination of text and images. Wherein the image may be represented by a network address of the image.
In some embodiments, the configuration information for the advertisement may also include the targeted region of the advertisement. In some cases, advertisers expect ads to be targeted only to certain regions, i.e., the ads are displayed to users in the targeted region. The configuration information of the advertisement may also indicate an advertisement position corresponding to the advertisement, which may include, for example, an advertisement position identification of the advertisement position and/or an identification of a page element in which the advertisement position is located.
After receiving the configuration information of the advertisement, the advertisement position information corresponding to the advertisement can be obtained according to the configuration information of the advertisement. Specifically, the advertisement position corresponding to the advertisement may be determined according to the advertisement position identifier in the configuration information, and then the corresponding advertisement position information may be acquired from the advertisement position storage device 130.
Generally, pages related to ad placement may be accessed and displayed via a browser or browser kernel based on configuration information for the ad and/or ad placement information corresponding to the ad.
In some embodiments, pages related to ad locations may be accessed and displayed by operating a Chrome or Chrome browser using the Puppeneer tool. Puppieeer is a Node library that provides a high level API to control Chrome or Chrome browsers with the DevTools protocol. Puppeteer by default runs in the non-interface mode, but can run in the interface mode by modifying the configuration file. Js, for example, creates a puppeteer instance, and then calls the newPage method of the puppeteer instance to create a browser tab page, which is used to access and display pages associated with ad positions.
Specifically, an access request for a page related to an advertisement location may be generated and transmitted based on configuration information of the advertisement and/or advertisement location information corresponding to the advertisement. Wherein the access request may include a network address of a page associated with the ad slot. In the puppeteer example illustrated above, the goto method of the browser tab page may be invoked to generate and send an access request for a page associated with the ad location.
Wherein if the ad location information indicates a device type for accessing the ad location, a User Agent identification (User-Agent) in the access request may be determined based on the device type. In the puppeteer example illustrated above, the setExtraHTTPHeaders method of the browser tab page may be invoked to set the request header (header) of the access request.
Additionally, a visible area (Viewport) for displaying a page associated with the advertisement placement may also be determined based on the device type. The visible area, also called viewport and window area, is the area used by the browser to display the page. In some cases, the viewable area may be a different size than the rendered page, in which case the browser may provide a scroll bar to scroll through all of the contents of the page.
If the advertisement position information indicates that the advertisement position can be used for directionally displaying the advertisement, a directional region in the configuration information of the advertisement can be obtained, and a page related to the advertisement position is accessed through a proxy server corresponding to the directional region. In the puppeteer example illustrated above, a set _ proxy method of a browser tab page object may be called to set a network address of a proxy server corresponding to a targeting region. Therefore, the user in the directional area can be simulated to access, and manual access in different places is avoided. In addition, if the configuration information of the advertisement includes a plurality of targeting zones, pages related to the advertisement location may be accessed through proxy servers corresponding to the targeting zones one by one.
After displaying the page related to the advertisement position, a script associated with the advertisement position may be obtained based on the advertisement position information corresponding to the advertisement in step S320. In particular, the script associated with the advertisement position may be obtained from the script storage device 140 according to the script identification associated with the advertisement position in the advertisement position information. The script may include several instructions.
As described above, some advertising slots have long arrival paths, requiring the user to display the advertising slot after performing various operations on the page associated with the advertising slot. The instructions in the script may be used to simulate the user's operation on the page. For example, the act of pressing the enter key to access a network address may be defined as a goto instruction in a script; defining the operation of clicking a mouse on a browser of a desktop computer as a click command; defining the operation of touching a screen on the mobile terminal as a tap instruction; the operation of hovering the mouse over a page element is defined as a hover instruction, and so on. The invention does not limit the operations simulated by the instructions.
Then, in step S330, the instruction included in the script is executed to display the advertisement position after operating the page related to the advertisement position. As described above, the operations performed on the page may include at least one of: click operation, slide operation, hover operation, and key operation.
In some embodiments, multiple scripts may be associated with an ad slot. Accordingly, the advertisement location information may include an execution order of the script. At this time, the scripts may be executed in the order of execution of the scripts.
The script also corresponds to script parameters, which may include a maximum number of retries, a pre-execution delay time, and the like. The script may be executed according to script parameters.
After executing the script associated with the advertisement position, it may be detected whether the current page displays the advertisement in step S340.
It should be noted that the current page is a page currently displayed by the browser, and may not be the page related to the advertisement position, but may also be the page related to the advertisement position. For example, an ad slot is displayed after clicking a link on a page associated with the ad slot, jumping to another page. At this point, the current page is not a page associated with the ad position. As another example, an ad position may be slid, i.e., displayed, on a page associated with the ad position. At this time, the current page is a page related to the advertisement position.
As described previously, the configuration information for the advertisement includes the advertisement content. In the case where the advertisement content includes text, the text in the current page may be obtained and matched with the text in the current page.
