Description

Paging method and device
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of mobile communications, and in particular, to a paging method and apparatus.
Background
In the standardization research of the fifth Generation wireless communication system (5Generation New RAT, 5G NR), in addition to following two states of Idle (Idle) and Connected (Connected) in the Long Term Evolution system (Long Term Evolution, LTE), a third state was introduced: inactive (Inactive) state. For an Inactive UE, downlink data or signaling from the core Network may trigger a Radio Access Network (RAN) to page the UE.
In the prior art, after calculating a paging priority based on downlink data or downlink signaling, an anchor base station notifies the paging priority to other base stations in a radio access network Notification Area (RAN Notification Area, RNA) configured for the UE by the anchor base station, so that the other base stations page the UE according to the received paging priority. It is highly likely that any one base station will be on the RNA configured by a plurality of different anchor base stations, and therefore will receive the paging priorities sent by different anchor base stations at the same time. For example: referring to fig. 1, three dotted circles respectively represent RNA regions configured by A, B, C for some UEs by three anchor base stations, and a base station D is simultaneously within the coverage of the RNA region A, B, C, and after determining the paging priority according to downlink data or downlink signaling sent by a core network, the base station A, B, C notifies the base station D of the determined paging priority.
However, in practical applications, the situation of networking by different manufacturers is very common, which may cause different methods for calculating paging priorities of different anchor base stations for the same type of service, and further cause a problem that some base stations in the RNA repeat coverage range of multiple different anchor base stations cannot correctly schedule RAN paging messages from different base stations. Continuing with base station D in fig. 1 as an example, which is covered by A, B, C overlapping RNAs of three base stations, if there is a UE of anchor base station A, B, C in the D base station area at the same time, the D base station may receive multiple different paging priorities from base station A, B, C for the same type of traffic indication, resulting in a confusion of scheduling paging priorities by base station D.

Wireless user terminals, which may be mobile terminals such as mobile telephones (or "cellular" telephones) and computers with mobile terminals, such as portable, pocket, hand-held, computer-included, or vehicle-mounted mobile devices, may communicate with one or more core networks via the RAN, and may exchange language and/or data with a radio access network. Examples of such devices include Personal Communication Service (PCS) phones, cordless phones, Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) phones, Wireless Local Loop (WLL) stations, Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), and the like. For the UE, the anchor base station is the last base station to serve the UE; also, the UE is returned to Inactive state, the UE is allocated an RNA region, the base station that retains UE context, the base station that receives data and/or signaling from the core network and triggers the RAN to page the Inactive UE within RNA.
The embodiment of the invention provides a paging method and a paging device, which are used for solving the technical problem of disordered paging priority scheduling in the prior art. The method and the device are based on the same inventive concept, and because the principles of solving the problems of the method and the device are similar, the implementation of the device and the method can be mutually referred, and repeated parts are not repeated.
Referring to fig. 2, the method includes:
s101: when receiving downlink data/signaling sent by a core network to User Equipment (UE) in an Inactive state, an anchor point base station determines that all other base stations related to RNA (ribonucleic acid) of the UE need to be triggered to page the UE.
Wherein said all other base stations comprise all other base stations located on said RNA.
S102: and the anchor base station determines a parameter for deciding the paging priority based on the downlink data/signaling.
Specifically, when the anchor base station receives a downlink signaling sent by a core network, it determines a Service Priority (Service Priority) carried by the downlink signaling as the parameter for determining the paging Priority. When the anchor base station receives downlink data sent by a core network, determining the attribute information of a Quality of Service (QoS) flow of the downlink data as the parameter for determining the paging priority.
Wherein the attribute information includes a resource preemption Priority (ARP). In a specific implementation process, the parameter determining the paging priority may also have other attribute information of the QoS flow besides the ARP, for example, whether the QoS flow is a Guaranteed Bit Rate (GBR) flow indication, a priority of the QoS flow, a packet delay budget, a delay sensitivity, and the like.
S103: the anchor base station calculates the paging priority according to the parameters and informs the other base stations of the paging priority; or, notifying the other base station of the parameter; or, calculating the paging priority according to the parameter, and notifying the other base stations of the parameter and the paging priority.
The method for notifying the other base stations of the paging priority and/or the paging parameters may be: and the paging message sent to the other base stations by the anchor base station carries the paging priority and/or the parameters.
In the above scheme, when initiating the RAN paging procedure to the Inactive UE, the anchor base station may select to provide the paging Priority to other base stations in the RNA, or may select to send parameters (such as ARP information of a QoS stream of downlink data, Service Priority in downlink signaling, and the like) that determine the paging Priority to other base stations, so that the other base stations determine the paging Priority by combining their own algorithms/policies. Therefore, the problem of disordered paging priority scheduling in the network caused by different paging priority calculation methods of different base stations due to networking of different manufacturers can be effectively solved, RAN paging from different base stations is guaranteed to have reasonable priority scheduling, the rationality of paging priority scheduling is guaranteed particularly under the condition of paging a large number of Inactive state UEs, and the network service quality is improved.
Optionally, in this embodiment of the present invention, which information the anchor base station sends to the other base station may be specifically determined based on whether an algorithm/policy of the anchor base station is the same as that of the other base station, where the algorithm/policy refers to a method for calculating a paging priority according to the parameter.
In general, the algorithms/strategies for base stations produced by different manufacturers are different, and therefore it is possible to determine which information the anchor base station sends to the other base stations based on whether the manufacturers of the base stations are the same. The specific implementation mode comprises the following steps: when the manufacturers of the other base stations are the same as the manufacturers of the anchor base station, the anchor base station calculates the paging priority according to the parameters and informs the other base stations of the paging priority; when the manufacturers of the other base stations are different from the manufacturer of the anchor base station, informing the other base stations of the parameters so that the other base stations calculate the paging priority according to the parameters; when it cannot be determined whether the manufacturers of the other base stations are the same as the manufacturers of the anchor base station, calculating a paging priority according to the parameters, and notifying the other base stations of the parameters and the paging priority, so that the other base stations calculate the paging priority according to the parameters, paging the UE based on the calculated paging priority, and further comparing the calculated paging priority with the paging priority obtained from the anchor base station to determine whether the manufacturers of the other base stations are the same as the manufacturers of the anchor base station, thereby laying a foundation for setting the subsequent RAN paging priority.
Of course, in practical applications, the algorithms/policies of the base stations produced by the same manufacturer may be different, for example, the same manufacturer may leave the base stations of different versions at different times, and the algorithms/policies of the base stations of different versions may be different, so that there may be a problem that understanding of priorities of the same service is inconsistent. The above determining which information the anchor base station sends to the other base stations according to whether the manufacturers are the same is only one implementation manner of the embodiment of the present invention, and a person skilled in the art may refer to this concept and use other similar methods (for example, versions of base stations) to determine which information the anchor base station sends to the other base stations, which is not limited in the embodiment of the present invention.
Through the embodiment, the anchor base station can determine which information the anchor base station sends to other base stations according to whether the manufacturers of the base stations are the same, so that the base station on the RNA of the anchor base station can determine the paging priority according to the information received from the anchor base station, the RAN paging from different base stations is guaranteed to have reasonable priority scheduling, and the network service quality is improved.
Optionally, if the number of the QoS streams of the downlink data received by the anchor base station is multiple, the attribute information of the QoS stream with the highest ARP in the multiple QoS streams may be notified to the other base stations, or the attribute information of each QoS stream in the multiple QoS streams may be notified to the other base stations, which is not limited in the embodiment of the present invention.
Through the embodiment, the base station on the RNA of the anchor point base station can determine the paging priority according to the attribute information of the QoS flow received from the anchor point base station, so that RAN paging from different base stations has reasonable priority scheduling, and the network service quality is improved.
In order to more clearly understand the technical solution of the embodiments of the present invention, the following describes the paging method in the present invention by using several specific complete embodiments, and the following embodiments mainly describe possible implementation processes of the paging method. It should be noted that the examples in the present invention are only for explaining the present invention, and are not to be construed as limiting the present invention. All embodiments that come within the spirit of the invention are to be understood as being within the scope of the invention, and it is obvious to a person skilled in the art how modifications can be made to the invention.
Example 1:
the downlink data triggers RAN paging, and all base stations in RNA are of the same manufacturer and version.
The anchor base station knows that all base stations on the RNA of the anchor base station are base stations of the same manufacturer and version based on Operation Administration Maintenance (OAM) configuration or other implementation manners. In this case, each base station of the RNA has the same algorithm and implementation of the paging priority, so the anchor base station can directly calculate the RAN paging priority according to the ARP information of the QoS stream of the received downlink data and/or other attribute information of the QoS stream, and notify all base stations in the RNA of the calculated paging priority in the RAN paging message, and the other base stations directly use the paging priority in the paging message to perform unified scheduling of RAN paging after receiving the paging message.
The embodiment can ensure that RAN paging from different base stations has reasonable priority scheduling, and improve the network service quality.
Example 2:
the downlink data triggers RAN paging, different manufacturers in RNA network deployment, and the anchor base station transmits a set of QoS flows.
The anchor base station knows that one or more base stations within the RNA are inter-vendor devices based on OAM configuration or other implementations. In this case, the anchor base station may initiate RAN paging after receiving downlink data on one or more QoS flows of the core network. In the RAN paging message, the anchor base station selects the one QoS flow that it considers to be the highest priority and informs the foreign vendor base stations within the RNA of its ARP information and/or other attribute information in the RAN paging message. Meanwhile, the anchor base station can still calculate the RAN paging priority and inform other base stations of the same manufacturer in the RNA in the RAN paging message, so that the receiving base station compares the self-calculated result with the priority provided by the anchor base station, and whether the two base stations are of the same manufacturer and the same version can be judged, and a foundation is laid for the subsequent setting of the RAN paging priority.
The embodiment can effectively solve the problem of disordered paging priority scheduling in the network caused by different paging priority calculation methods of different base stations due to networking of different manufacturers, ensure that RAN paging from different base stations has reasonable priority scheduling, and improve the network service quality.
Example 3:
the downlink data triggers RAN paging, different manufacturers in RNA network deployment, and the anchor base station transmits a plurality of sets of QoS flows.
The anchor base station knows that one or more base stations within the RNA are inter-vendor devices based on OAM configuration or other implementations. In this case, after receiving the downlink data on the multiple QoS streams of the core network, the anchor base station directly informs all the ARP information of the QoS streams of the received downlink data and/or other attribute information of the QoS streams to the base station of the different manufacturer.
The embodiment can effectively solve the problem of disordered paging priority scheduling in the network caused by different paging priority calculation methods of different base stations due to networking of different manufacturers, ensure that RAN paging from different base stations has reasonable priority scheduling, and improve the network service quality.
Example 4:
the downlink data triggers RAN paging, and the anchor base station cannot identify whether the RNA is networked by the same manufacturer or different manufacturers.
1) The anchor base station can send RAN paging information to all base stations in the RNA, the RAN paging information carries ARP and/or other attribute parameters of one set or all QoS flows, and the base station receiving the paging information calculates RAN paging priority according to the ARP and/or other attribute parameters of the received QoS flows;
2) the anchor base station may also provide the computed RAN paging priority and ARP and/or other attribute parameters for one or all QoS flows in a paging message to all base stations within the RNA simultaneously. In this case, the receiving base station may directly use the priority provided by the anchor base station; the priority can be ignored, the paging priority is automatically calculated according to the ARP and/or other attribute parameters of the QoS flow, and the calculation result is compared with the priority provided by the anchor point base station, so that whether the two base stations are of the same manufacturer and the same version can be judged, and a foundation is laid for the subsequent RAN paging priority setting.
The embodiment can effectively solve the problem of disordered paging priority scheduling in the network caused by different paging priority calculation methods of different base stations due to networking of different manufacturers, ensure that RAN paging from different base stations has reasonable priority scheduling, and improve the network service quality.
Example 5:
and (3) triggering paging by downlink signaling, wherein all base stations in the RNA have the same manufacturer and version.
In this case, if the anchor base station knows that all base stations in the RNA are of the same manufacturer and the same version based on OAM configuration or other implementation manners, the anchor base station may directly calculate RAN paging priority according to its own policy and include it in the RAN paging message to notify other base stations in the RNA; or else, the RAN paging priority is not provided, the service priority provided by the core network in the downlink signaling is directly filled in the RAN paging message, and the receiving base station calculates the RAN paging priority according to the service priority.
The embodiment can ensure that RAN paging from different base stations has reasonable priority scheduling, and improve the network service quality.
Example 6:
and triggering paging by downlink signaling, and judging whether different manufacturers exist or not by part of different manufacturers.
1) If the anchor base station judges that a part of base stations in the RNA are of different manufacturers, the RAN paging message needs to provide service priority in downlink signaling for the base stations of the different manufacturers, and the base stations of the different manufacturers calculate RAN paging priority by themselves according to the service priority; the RAN paging priority or service priority may be provided to base stations of the same vendor.
2) If the anchor base station cannot judge whether the base station in the RNA is the same manufacturer or a different manufacturer, the RAN paging message only carries the service priority, and the receiving base station calculates the RAN paging priority according to the service priority; the paging priority and the service priority can also be provided for the receiving base station, so that the RAN paging priority is calculated according to the service priority by self, and the calculation result is compared with the priority provided by the anchor point base station, thereby judging whether the two base stations are of the same manufacturer and the same version, and laying a foundation for the subsequent RAN paging priority setting.
The embodiment can effectively solve the problem of disordered paging priority scheduling in the network caused by different paging priority calculation methods of different base stations due to networking of different manufacturers, ensure that RAN paging from different base stations has reasonable priority scheduling, and improve the network service quality.
Example 7:
simplification of RAN paging messages.
Based on the above embodiments 1 to 6, it is considered that the RAN paging message is further simplified. The method specifically comprises the following steps:
1) the RAN paging message does not contain the paging priority, but only contains the parameter (such as the service priority of the downlink signaling or the attribute parameter of the QoS flow of the downlink data) for determining the paging priority;
2) the RAN paging message simultaneously comprises the paging priority and the parameter for determining the paging priority. The receiving base station can process according to own strategy, such as: determining the paging priority only according to the parameter for determining the paging priority; alternatively, a paging priority is calculated according to a parameter determining the paging priority, and a higher priority is selected from the calculated paging priority and the paging priority received from the anchor base station to schedule RAN paging of the UE.
The embodiment can simplify RAN paging messages, so that the base stations on the RNA can determine the paging priority more conveniently based on the RAN paging messages, the problem of disordered paging priority scheduling in a network caused by different paging priority calculation methods of different base stations due to networking of different manufacturers is solved, reasonable priority scheduling of RAN paging from different base stations is guaranteed, and the network service quality is improved.
Example 8:
the attribute information of the QoS flow is conveyed in the RAN paging message. The method specifically comprises the following steps:
1) directly adding an ARP in RAN paging messages or adding an ARP table;
2) adding a QoS Flow list in RAN paging message, wherein each element in the list is composed of mandatory QoS Flow identification (QFI, QoS Flow ID), ARP of QoS Flow and optional other attribute information (such as GBR Flow indication, priority of QoS Flow, packet delay budget, delay sensitivity and the like) of QoS Flow.
The embodiment can normalize the format of the attribute information of the QoS flow in the RAN paging message, so that the base station on the RNA can determine the paging priority more conveniently based on the attribute information of the QoS flow in the RAN paging message, the RAN paging from different base stations can be guaranteed to have reasonable priority scheduling, and the network service quality is improved.
Based on the same inventive concept, an embodiment of the present invention further provides a paging method, where an execution subject of the method may be another base station on the RNA of the UE under the anchor base station, and the method includes:

In this scheme, other base stations on the RNA may receive the paging priority provided by the anchor base station, or receive parameters determining the paging priority provided by the anchor base station, and determine the paging priority by combining their own algorithm/strategy. Therefore, the problem of disordered paging priority scheduling in the network caused by different paging priority calculation methods of different base stations due to networking of different manufacturers can be solved, RAN paging from different base stations is guaranteed to have reasonable priority scheduling, and the rationality of the paging priority scheduling is guaranteed and the network service quality is improved particularly under the condition of paging a large number of Inactive state UEs.
