The names of messages or information exchanged between devices in the embodiments of the present disclosure are for illustrative purposes only, and are not intended to limit the scope of the messages or information.
In the prior art, for example, when some irregular applications are used in the Android operating system, the cursor position may not be obtained, and at this time, the operating system may not adjust the display position of the input method banner in real time even though the relative position between the display content in the input area specified by the preset input parameters and the input method banner changes along with the input operation. The present disclosure addresses such problems with the following examples, which are specifically set forth below.
FIG. 1 is a flow chart showing the main steps of the method of controlling input method banner position of the present disclosure. In general, in the process of inputting by using an input method, a cursor position appears in an input area specified by preset input parameters and a current application can acquire the cursor position, however, in some non-standard applications, the cursor position cannot be acquired although input operation can be performed by using the input method.
The method of the present disclosure is illustrated in fig. 1:
in step 101, when the cursor position cannot be obtained in real time, the current input position is estimated based on the cursor position of the reference input point, the input content, and the preset input parameters.
The reference input point may be a start input point, that is, a first input position when the input method is started, an input position estimated last time in the input process, or an input position located by clicking a mouse, touching, or other operation methods in the input process. The input content can be Chinese and foreign language characters, symbols, emoticons, pictures and any other input content. The preset input parameters are preset input parameters of the current working window, and may include, but are not limited to, the size of the character size of the input characters, the size of the picture of the input picture, the size of the inserted table, and the like. The input box is also called a text box, and is a way of man-machine interaction, when a cursor is located in the input box, a user can input or copy and paste text, numbers and other contents therein, can input text or text information in the input box, and the preset input parameters of the input box may include a part or all of names, vertical columns, horizontal columns, background colors, colors and forms of scroll bars, border colors, text types, font sizes and colors, intervals, line spaces and the like.
In step 102, an input method banner position is set based on the current input position estimated in step 101.
In this step, the setting may be performed according to actual conditions such as the use habit of the user or the area available for displaying the input method banner.
Other embodiments of the method of controlling input method banner positions of the present disclosure are described in more detail below.
FIG. 2 is a flow chart showing the main steps of the method of controlling input method banner position of the present disclosure. As shown in fig. 2, a case where an input is performed in the input box is described as an example, and in step 201, the input method is started.
In step 202, it is determined whether the cursor position can be acquired from the application, and if the cursor position can be acquired (yes in step 202), the process proceeds to step 205, where the input method banner position is set based on the cursor position; if the cursor position cannot be acquired (no in step 202), the process proceeds to step 203.
In step 203, first, an initial input position is acquired, and when the initial input position is designated in an input box by an operation such as a touch operation or a mouse click operation, the touch operation or the mouse click operation causes a cursor to be displayed at the initial input position, whereby the operating system can obtain the position of the cursor. In this embodiment, for example, the coordinate of the upper left corner of the display area of the display is set to (0,0), and the coordinate of the lower right corner of the display area of the display is set to (x, y), for example, the mobile phone screen may have a plurality of resolutions such as 1280x720, 1440x720, 2160x1080, 2960x1440, and in PAD, laptop, and desktop displays, there are a plurality of resolutions, and the coordinate of the lower right corner of the display area is set to (x, y) corresponding to the resolution of the display. Then, parameter information (preset input parameter information) of the current input box is acquired. Then, the number of characters and the type of characters that have been input in the current input box are acquired. Then, the coordinates of the current input position are estimated from the cursor position of the reference input point, which is the start input point in the present embodiment, the parameters of the input frame, and the already input content. After the coordinates of the current input position are estimated, step 204 is entered.
In step 204, an input method banner position is set based on the coordinates of the front input position estimated in step 203 above. Here, the input method banner position may be in the vicinity of the current input position, for example, above, below, left, right, left-up, right-up, left-down, right-down at a distance from the current input position. Further, a certain boundary of the input method banner may be aligned with the current input position, for example, left end alignment or right end alignment, or may be center aligned or fixed with a certain interval. After the input method banner position is set, the arrangement mode of a plurality of characters to be selected in the input method banner can be determined according to the actual situation, and when the characters to be selected are arranged by taking the current input position as a starting point, the most frequently used characters to be selected are closest to the current input position, so that the input efficiency can be improved.
Therefore, even though the cursor position cannot be obtained in real time, the input method banner can be moved and displayed following the input operation according to the estimated coordinates of the current input position, the convenience of the input operation can be improved, and the user experience can be improved.
Further, according to the usage habit of the user, the input method banner may be set at a fixed position outside the input frame without changing following the change of the current input position, and may be set near the lower boundary of the display area of the display, for example, thereby preventing the input method banner from covering the current input position.
In the case of estimating the coordinates of the previous input position in step 203, the estimation of the coordinates of the previous input position is not limited to being performed once by updating every time one character is input, and step 203 may be performed in a cycle of a predetermined number of input characters. Therefore, although the accuracy of the input method banner position following the current input position is slightly influenced, the calculation amount can be greatly reduced, the system calculation resource can be saved, and the user experience can be improved in terms of the running speed.
Additionally, in step 204, the input method banner location may be set in different ways for different practical situations. Hereinafter, the description will be specifically made based on the drawings.
Fig. 3 illustrates a flowchart for setting an input method banner position according to a distance relationship between a current input position and a boundary of a display area of a display in a method of controlling an input method banner position of the present disclosure. As shown in fig. 3, in step 303, the current input position is estimated. In step 304, it is determined whether the distance between the current input position and a certain boundary of the display area (a boundary in the length direction (lateral direction) of the input method banner, a boundary in the height direction (longitudinal direction) of the input method banner) is greater than a predetermined distance (lateral distance, longitudinal distance) that is sufficient for displaying the input method banner in the length direction (lateral direction) of the input method banner and that is sufficient for displaying the input method banner in the height direction (longitudinal direction) of the input method banner. If it is determined as "yes" in step 304, the process proceeds to step 306, where an input method banner is displayed between the current input position and the boundary of the display area; if it is determined in step 304 that the input position is "no", the process proceeds to step 305, where the input method banner is displayed between the current input position and another boundary of the display area, which is the boundary of the display area facing the certain boundary with the current input position therebetween. The "size sufficient to display the input method banner" is not limited to the size equal to the input method banner, and may be set by the user to a predetermined distance larger than the horizontal and vertical sizes of the input method banner, as is customary. In the present disclosure, the longitudinal direction of the input method banner is referred to as the "left-right direction" regardless of whether the input method banner is displayed horizontally or vertically, the display region boundaries at both ends in the left-right direction are referred to as the "left-right boundaries", the vertical direction of the input method banner in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction (vertical direction), and the display region boundaries at both upper and lower ends are referred to as the "upper-lower boundaries".
Therefore, the display position of the input method banner can be optimized according to the distance between the current input position and the boundary of the display area in the horizontal direction and the vertical direction, a part of the input method banner is prevented from being located outside the display area, the convenience of input operation can be improved, and the user experience is improved.
Although it is described based on fig. 3 that the display position of the input method banner is adjusted according to the distance between the input method banner and the boundary of the display area, in some specific cases, it may be undesirable to make a large change in the display position of the input method banner, for example, when the input method banner moves from below to above of the current input position (or cursor position), the input content may be blocked, and it may be difficult for the user to refer to the input content when performing subsequent input. Therefore, other adjustment methods may be selected according to actual needs, and the display method may be changed not only by changing the display position of the input method banner but also by changing the display method of the input method banner or by changing the display position of the input method banner, as will be described below.
Fig. 4 is a flowchart illustrating setting of a display mode of an input method banner according to different situations in the method of controlling the position of an input method banner according to the present disclosure.
As shown in fig. 4, in step 401, it is determined whether the spatial lateral dimension for displaying the input method banner is sufficient to display the length of the input method banner.
If yes is determined in step 401, the process proceeds to step 404, where the input method banner is displayed in a default length.
If the determination in step 401 is "no", the process proceeds to step 402, and it is further determined whether the vertical size of the space for displaying the banner of the input method is sufficient to display a plurality of lines of characters to be selected.
If the determination in step 402 is "yes", the process proceeds to step 405, where the length of the input method banner is reduced and the vertical size is increased to display the characters to be selected in a plurality of lines.
If the determination in step 402 is "no," the process proceeds to step 403, where the length of the input method banner is reduced without changing the vertical size of the input method banner, and the number of characters to be selected displayed is reduced.
Therefore, the adaptability of the position and the display mode of the input method banner is further improved, and the input method banner can be ensured to be properly displayed under different specific conditions, so that the usability of the input method banner is ensured.
In the following, the steps in the method for controlling the banner position of the input method are described based on specific application examples, which are only exemplary and not intended to limit the disclosure.
Application example 1
Fig. 5 is a schematic diagram showing an application example when the method of controlling the position of an input method banner of the present disclosure is performed. As shown in fig. 5, it is assumed that in a screen having a resolution of 1280 × 720, the coordinates of an input box are (95,195), the size of the input box is a type that is freely adjusted according to input contents, the coordinates of an initial input position are (100,200), a font is xx, a font size is xx, a character pitch is standard, a line pitch is a single line pitch, the coordinates are calculated in pixels, each character spans 8 pixels in a lateral direction and 10 pixels in a longitudinal direction, it is assumed that a text "one, two, three, five, seven and ninety" is input, and a line change is input between "five" and "six", and at this time, the current input position is x 100+5 × 8 — 140, and y 200+1 × 10 — 210. Thus, the coordinates of the current input position are estimated to be (140, 210). Based on the coordinates (140,210), an input method banner is displayed in proximity thereto. In this embodiment 1, the left end of the input method banner is aligned with the current input position and displayed entirely below the current input position.
Application example 2
FIG. 6 is a schematic diagram illustrating one embodiment of the present disclosure when performing a method of controlling input method banner position. As shown in fig. 6, it is assumed that in the screen having a resolution of 1280x720, the input frame coordinates are (1215,700), the input frame size is of a type freely adjusted according to the input content, the coordinates of the initial input position are (1220,705), the font is xx, the font size is xx, the character pitch is standard, the line pitch is single line pitch, the input method banner displays 5 characters to be selected, the total length is 80 pixels, and the height is 25 pixels, and at this time, the distance between the current input position and the lower boundary of the screen is 5 pixels, the distance from the right boundary of the screen is 10 pixels, and neither below nor to the right of the current input position is sufficient to display the input method banner, and therefore, in present application example 2, the position of the input method banner is set above the current input position, and the right end of the input method banner is aligned with the coordinates of the current input position.
