Fig. 2 is a block diagram of an embodiment of a control apparatus for identifying a location of a new network access device according to the present disclosure.
Detailed Description
The technical solutions in the embodiments of the present disclosure will be clearly and completely described below with reference to the drawings in the embodiments of the present disclosure.
Fig. 1 is a flowchart illustrating an embodiment of a method for identifying a location of a new network access device according to the present disclosure. As shown in fig. 1, the method 10 of this embodiment is implemented based on IPMI, and includes:
and 110, installing the equipment by an equipment installation engineer on site, connecting the equipment to a network cable of a data center, powering on the equipment, and making installation records, wherein the installation record information at least comprises an equipment serial number and installation position information of a machine room, a rack and the like where the equipment is located.
Among other things, the device Serial Number (SN), often provided by the manufacturer, is a globally unique identification for the product. The equipment serial number can be generally checked from an equipment basic information label on the outer surface of the equipment without logging in the equipment, so that the installation and recording work list is simpler and more convenient.
The device in this embodiment may be, for example, a server.
Step 120, the new network access device broadcasts a DHCP Discovery message, where the source address is, for example, 0.0.0.0, and the destination address is, for example, 255.255.255.255.
Step 130, the DHCP Server (Server) receives the DHCP Discovery message, selects an available IP address to allocate to the new network access device, so that the new network access device obtains the IP address through the DHCP protocol.
If the new network-accessing device is powered on and restarted for some reason, the DHCP Server will select the available IP address again to be re-allocated to the new network-accessing device, and the IP addresses allocated twice may be different.
Step 140, the remote control device (abbreviated as control device) with IPMI management function discovers the new network access device through IP scanning.
As previously mentioned, IPMI is an open standard hardware management interface protocol that uses low-level hardware intelligence management without using an operating system for device management.
Step 150, the control device connects to a Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) of the newly network-connected device to obtain a control right of the newly network-connected device.
And step 160, the control device completes the installation work of the operating system of the newly-accessed network equipment under the coordination of the BMC.
The BMC is a remote management port, and allows a user to remotely manage a newly-networked device through a network regardless of the state (power-on, power-off, or restart) of the newly-networked device as long as the newly-networked device is connected to the network and the power is not turned off. The control device can display the display information of the new network access equipment locally, control and operate the new network access equipment by using a local keyboard and a local mouse, complete the setting of a Basic Input Output System (BIOS) and the configuration of a disk array (RAID) at the bottom layer, map and load a local optical disk mirror image and a local folder into the new network access equipment as a virtual optical drive to carry out the bottom layer work such as the installation of an operating system, and carry out remote control and management after the installation of the operating system is completed.
In step 170, the control apparatus obtains the device serial number of the newly networked device through the IPMI protocol, for example, under the coordination of BMC, the device serial number of the newly networked device is obtained through the "Ipmitool fru list" command.
And step 180, acquiring the installation position information of the new network access equipment from the installation record information by using the equipment serial number of the new network access equipment, and further updating the acquired installation position information and the equipment serial number of the new network access equipment to the resource management information.
In one embodiment, the equipment serial number of the matched installation equipment is searched from the installation record information by using the equipment serial number of the new network access equipment, and the installation position information corresponding to the equipment serial number of the matched installation equipment is obtained from the installation record information and is used as the installation position information of the new network access equipment.
The method of the embodiment can acquire the installation position information of the new network access equipment by using the equipment serial number of the new network access equipment, and can stably acquire the installation position information of the new network access equipment under the condition that the IP address of the new network access equipment dynamically changes. In addition, the compatibility is good, the IPMI protocol and the BMC do not need to be modified, and the matching rule of the position identification only needs to be modified.
Fig. 2 is a block diagram of an embodiment of a control apparatus for identifying a location of a new network access device according to the present disclosure. As shown in fig. 2, the control device 20 of this embodiment includes:
a discovery module 210, configured to discover a new network-accessing device;
a connection module 220, configured to connect a baseboard management controller of the new network access device;
a serial number obtaining module 230, configured to obtain an equipment serial number of the new network access equipment through the baseboard management controller;
and a location obtaining module 240, configured to obtain, from the installation record information, installation location information of the new network access device by using the device serial number of the new network access device.
The discovery module 210 is configured to discover a new network access device in an IP scanning manner, where the new network access device obtains an IP address through a dynamic host configuration protocol.
The serial number obtaining module 230 is configured to obtain a control right of the new network access device through the backplane management controller, and obtain an equipment serial number of the new network access device through an intelligent platform management interface IPMI protocol.
The serial number obtaining module 230 is configured to obtain an equipment serial number of the new network access equipment through an Ipmitool fru list command.

The control apparatus of this embodiment acquires the installation location information of the newly networked device using the device serial number of the newly networked device, and can stably acquire the installation location information of the newly networked device even when the IP address of the newly networked device dynamically changes. In addition, the compatibility is good, the IPMI protocol and the BMC do not need to be modified, and the matching rule of the position identification only needs to be modified. The equipment serial number can be generally checked from an equipment basic information label on the outer surface of the equipment without logging in the equipment, so that the installation and recording work list is simpler and more convenient.
