Abstract
The invention provides a method for selecting and upgrading a home gateway on a set top box interface by a user, wherein the user clicks an upgrade button on the IPTV set top box interface, a set top box downloads an upgrade package from an operator server, the set top box and the home gateway communicate through a 802.3ah protocol-defined two-layer protocol, the set top box initiates an upgrade request to the home gateway, and the home gateway executes an upgrade process after receiving the upgrade request initiated by the set top box. The prompt is given during upgrading, the user can not be considered as a fault, the user experience is greatly improved through visual operation, the operation of the assembly and maintenance personnel is facilitated, and the management and the maintenance of the equipment by an operator are greatly facilitated.
Description
Technical Field
The invention relates to a software upgrading technology in network communication, in particular to a method for upgrading a home gateway through a set top box.
Background
In the broadband operator network, the IPTV set-top box is accessed to the home gateway LAN port, and the user watches IPTV programs through the IPTV set-top box. Generally, a user can select to upgrade the set-top box on the set-top box interface, and upgrading of the home gateway requires an operator related technician to upgrade the home gateway in other ways, so that the user cannot see the upgrading state on the set-top box interface when upgrading the home gateway.
Disclosure of Invention
The invention aims to overcome the defects of the prior art and provides a method for upgrading a home gateway through a set top box.
The purpose of the invention is realized by the following technical scheme: a method for upgrading a home gateway through a set-top box comprises the following steps:
s1: a user clicks an upgrade button on an IPTV set-top box interface, and the set-top box downloads an upgrade package from an operator server;
s2: the set-top box communicates with the home gateway through a 802.3ah protocol custom two-layer protocol, and the set-top box initiates an upgrade request to the home gateway;
s3: and the home gateway executes an upgrading process after receiving an upgrading request initiated by the set top box.
The set-top box downloads the upgrade package from the operator server, wherein the upgrade package is judged to be a composite upgrade package, if the upgrade package is the composite upgrade package, the set-top box downloads the upgrade package to a temporary path and then decompresses the upgrade package to a corresponding directory for use; if the upgrade package only contains the upgrade package upgraded by the home gateway, the set top box can be directly downloaded to the specified directory to execute operations such as downloading and decompressing.
The set top box and the home gateway in the step S2 communicate with each other through the 802.3ah protocol custom two-layer protocol, which includes the following sub-steps:
s21: the set-top box is connected to the lan side of the home gateway, and the set-top box initiates a 9211 broadcast packet containing the mac address of the set-top box;
s22: if the home gateway receives the 9211 broadcast packet, learning a mac address of the set top box, replying the 9211 unicast packet containing the mac address of the set top box to the set top box, and enabling the set top box to learn the mac address of the home gateway after receiving the unicast packet replied by the home gateway;
if the home gateway does not receive the 9211 broadcast packet, the home gateway initiates the 9212 broadcast packet, detects the mac address of the home set-top box, waits for the set-top box to reply the 9212 unicast packet by the same mechanism, and learns the mac address of the other side;
s23: the set-top box calls an interface function to initiate an upgrading request: initiating a 9211 unicast request to the home gateway, wherein the request data is a custom interface function in a json format;
s24: the home gateway receives the upgrading request and replies a home gateway address and a lan address distributed to the set top box by the home gateway;
s25: and the set top box initiates a post upgrading request to the address of the home gateway by using the address of the lan side distributed by the home gateway, and the head of the request contains a custom check field.
The home gateway upgrading process comprises the following steps: the home gateway judges whether the upgrading request is sent by the set top box or not, if so, the home gateway responds to the post request, and the release data packet does not need to be subjected to http authentication of the home gateway;
the home gateway calls a system upgrading API interface function, executes an upgrading process and prompts that the system is upgrading on a home gateway page;
the method for the home gateway to judge whether the upgrade request is sent by the set top box is as follows: verifying whether the header of the upgrade request contains a specified field FROM;
verifying whether the upgrading request IP is an IP address distributed to the set top box by the home gateway or not;
if the two conditions are met, the home gateway responds to the post request, and the release data packet does not need to be subjected to http authentication of the home gateway.
The home gateway calls a system upgrading API interface function, executes an upgrading process and prompts that the system is upgrading on a home gateway page.
If the upgrade is successful, restarting the system;
and if the upgrading fails, returning to a failure state.
The invention has the beneficial effects that: the invention provides a method for selecting and upgrading a home gateway on a set top box interface by a user, prompts are provided during upgrading, the user can not be considered as a fault, the user experience is greatly improved through visual operation, the operation of an assembly and maintenance worker is facilitated, and the management and the maintenance of equipment by an operator are greatly facilitated.

The technical solutions of the present invention are further described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings, but the scope of the present invention is not limited thereto
As described below.
FIG. 1 is a networking diagram of the technical scheme, an IPTV set-top box is accessed to a home gateway LAN port, the home gateway communicates with the IPTV set-top box through the LAN port, and a user realizes operation through an IPTV set-top box interface.
When a user clicks an upgrade button on an IPTV set-top box interface, the set-top box downloads an upgrade package from an operator server, if the upgrade package is a composite upgrade package, the upgrade package of the set-top box upgrade and the upgrade package of the home gateway upgrade are contained, and due to the limited space of the common directory of the set-top box, the set-top box is required to be downloaded to a temporary path and then decompressed to a corresponding directory for use. If the upgrade package only contains the upgrade package upgraded by the home gateway, the set top box can be directly downloaded to the specified directory to execute operations such as downloading and decompressing.
The flow of downloading the upgrade package module by the IPTV set-top box is shown in fig. 2.
The set top box and the home gateway communicate through a 802.3ah protocol custom two-layer protocol. The custom protocol header contains a protocol identification field and a mac address. The set top box initiates a request, the self-defined protocol type is 9211, the home gateway initiates a request, and the self-defined protocol type is 9212.
Firstly, the set-top box and the home gateway learn each other's mac address:
the set-top box is connected to the lan side of the home gateway, and the set-top box initiates a 9211 broadcast packet containing the mac address of the set-top box.
If the home gateway receives the 9211 broadcast packet, the mac address of the set-top box is learned. The home gateway replies 9211 unicast packets containing its mac address to the set top box. And the set top box receives the unicast packet replied by the home gateway and learns the mac address of the home gateway.
If the home gateway does not receive the 9211 broadcast packet, the home gateway initiates the 9212 broadcast packet, detects the mac address of the home set-top box, waits for the set-top box to reply the 9212 unicast packet by the same mechanism, and learns the mac address of the other side.
Secondly, the set-top box calls an interface function to initiate an upgrading request.
The set top box initiates a 9211 unicast request to the home gateway, and the request data is a custom interface function in json format. And the home gateway receives the upgrading request and replies the home gateway address and the lan address distributed to the set top box by the home gateway.
And finally, the set top box initiates a post upgrading request to the address of the home gateway by using the address of the lan side distributed by the home gateway, and the head of the request contains a custom check field.
The set-top box and home gateway communication module timing sequence is shown in figure 3.
The home gateway receives the post request and verifies whether the request is an upgrading request sent by the set top box in the following two ways.
1) The header contains a specified field FROM;
2) requesting IP to be an IP address distributed to the set top box by the home gateway;
if the two conditions are met, the home gateway responds to the post request, and the release data packet does not need to be subjected to http authentication of the home gateway.
The home gateway calls a system upgrading API interface function, executes an upgrading process and prompts that the system is upgrading on a home gateway page.
If the upgrade is successful, the system is restarted, and if the upgrade is failed, a failure state is returned.
Claims (5)
1. A method for upgrading a home gateway through a set-top box is characterized by comprising the following steps:
s1: the set top box downloads the upgrade package from the operator server;
s2: the set top box and the home gateway communicate through an 802.3ah self-defined two-layer protocol, and the set top box initiates an upgrading request to the home gateway;
the set-top box and the home gateway in the step S2 communicate via 802.3ah customized two-layer protocol, which includes the following sub-steps:
s21: the set top box is connected to the lan side of the home gateway, and the set top box initiates a 9211 broadcast packet containing a mac address of the set top box;
s22: if the home gateway receives the 9211 broadcast packet, learning the mac address of the set top box, and replying the 9211 unicast packet containing the mac address of the set top box to the set top box, wherein the set top box receives the unicast packet replied by the home gateway and learns the mac address of the home gateway;
if the home gateway does not receive the 9211 broadcast packet, the home gateway initiates the 9212 broadcast packet, detects the mac address of the home set-top box, waits for the set-top box to reply the 9212 unicast packet by the same mechanism, and learns the mac address of the other side;
s23: the set-top box calls an interface function to initiate an upgrade request: initiating a 9211 unicast request to the home gateway, wherein the request data is a custom interface function in a json format;
s24: the home gateway receives the upgrading request and replies the address of the home gateway and the lan address distributed to the set top box by the home gateway;
s25: the set top box initiates a post upgrading request to the home gateway address by using the lan side address distributed by the home gateway, and the request head comprises a custom check field;
s3: and the home gateway executes an upgrading process after receiving the upgrading request initiated by the set top box.
2. The method for upgrading a home gateway through a set-top box according to claim 1, wherein the set-top box downloads an upgrade package from a carrier server, comprising the sub-steps of:
the set top box judges whether the upgrade package is a composite upgrade package;
if the upgrade package is a composite upgrade package, the set top box downloads the upgrade package to a temporary path and then decompresses the upgrade package to a corresponding directory for use;
and if the upgrade package only contains the upgrade package upgraded by the home gateway, the set top box can be directly downloaded to a specified directory to execute downloading and decompressing operations.
3. The method for upgrading a home gateway through a set-top box according to claim 1, wherein the upgrading process comprises the following sub-steps:
the home gateway judges whether the upgrading request is sent by the set top box or not, if so, the home gateway responds to the upgrading request, and the release data packet does not need to be authenticated by http of the home gateway;
and the home gateway calls a system upgrading API interface function, executes an upgrading process and prompts that the system is upgrading on a home gateway page.
4. The method for upgrading a home gateway through a set-top box according to claim 3, wherein the home gateway determines whether the upgrade request is sent by the set-top box, comprising the following steps:
verifying whether the upgrade request header contains a specified field FROM;
verifying whether the upgrading request IP is an IP address which is distributed to the set top box by the home gateway;
if the two conditions are met, the home gateway responds to the post request, and the release data packet does not need to be subjected to http authentication of the home gateway.
5. The method for upgrading a home gateway through a set-top box according to claim 1, wherein the upgrading process further comprises the sub-steps of:
the home gateway judges whether the upgrade is successful;
if the upgrading is successful, restarting the home gateway;
and if the upgrading fails, the home gateway returns to a failure state.
