The system message indicates some basic features of the current cell or network and some common characteristics of the users, independent of the specific user. The LTE (Long Term Evolution) System message includes an MIB (Master Information Block) and a plurality of SIB (System Information Blocks) messages; the MIB message is broadcast on a PBCH (Physical broadcast Channel), and the SIB is delivered through an RRC (Radio Resource Control) message of a PDSCH (Physical Downlink Shared Channel). The SIB1 is carried by a "SysteminformationBlockType 1" message, and the SIB2 and other SIBs are carried by a "systeminformationjtsi)" message. One SI message may contain one or more SIBs. A UE (User Equipment) receives a system message (MIB/SIB) when it newly accesses a cell or when a broadcast message changes.
Currently, a system architecture RAN (Residential Access Network) of 5G (fifth generation mobile phone mobile communication standard) introduces a CU (Centralized Unit)/DU (Distributed Unit) architecture. As shown in fig. 1, the system architectures of 4G and 5G are shown respectively, and it can be seen that BBU (basic processing Unit of access network) in 5G communication is reconfigured into two functional entities, CU (Centralized Unit) and DU (Distributed Unit).
The CU device processes a Radio Resource Control (RRC) layer, a Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) layer, and even can support a part of core network functions sinking to an access network, which is referred to as an edge computing network in the term, and can meet higher requirements of a future communication network for emerging services, such as video, network shopping, and virtual/augmented reality, on network delay. It is also due to the change of communication network elements and structure that the protocol stack will be adjusted and changed accordingly. The DU device mainly handles the physical layer functions and the functions of higher layers required by real-time performance, and considering the transmission resources of an RRU (radio remote unit) and a DU, part of the physical layer functions of the DU can be moved up to the RRU, and even more aggressive DUs can be merged with the RRU along with the miniaturization of the RRU.
The system information sending mechanism between the CU and the DU according to the embodiment of the present invention is shown in fig. 2, and it can be seen from the figure that the CU is responsible for determining and maintaining the system information, and at the same time, configures the sending time of the system information, and determines and maintains the sending time of the system information in the DU, and sends the system information at a fixed time.

Generally, there are two types of system messages: one is that no trigger is needed, i.e. no base station needs to apply for periodic transmission, and the other is that the base station needs to apply for periodic transmission or carried by dedicated signaling after system information needs to apply for.
And for the system information which does not need to be triggered, the CU determines the system information and the time information which need to be configured, before the target time is reached, the system information and the time information which is used for determining the sending period of the system information are placed in the system configuration message and sent to the DU, and after the determined sending time is reached, the DU sends the system information corresponding to the time information to the terminal which sends the message requesting the system information.
For the system information which needs to be triggered, different processing modes are provided according to whether the DU can understand the content of the terminal application system information message.
If the application of the system information is sent through Message 1 (Message 1) of the random access, the DU can completely understand the current system information request, and the DU can directly send the configured information system to the UE.
If the Message3 (Message 3) in the random access is used for system Message application and the DU can interpret the current Message as a system information request, the system information is directly sent to the UE.
If the DU does not recognize the current system information request, the DU needs to send the system information request to the CU, the CU informs the DU to send the system information, and the CU carries the latest system information and the time information of the system information; further, the type of system information and/or an indication of the transmitted system information may also be carried.
That is, when the DU does not recognize the current system information request, the CU may wait until the DU sends the information of the system information requested by the terminal to the CU; or it can be configured in advance and sent to DU, and send the system information to the terminal when DU receives the information that the terminal requests the system information.
That is, the system information types are classified into the following two types:

The system information and time information sent by the CU to the DU may be manually configured in the CU or may be notified by a higher layer.
Optionally, the system information that the CU determines needs to send to the DU is encoded system information.
The purpose of encoding the system information is to shorten bytes occupied by the system information and facilitate transmission.
Optionally, if the system information configured to the DU changes, the CU determines the changed system information and determines time information used for determining a transmission period of the system information, and transmits the determined system information and the time information to the DU;
correspondingly, the DU receives system information configured by the CU and time information corresponding to the system information; and determining a sending period according to the time information.

Optionally, since the DU can be sent only after the CU has configured the system information, the CU determines the sending time of the system information according to the system frame number;

The time delay between the CU and the DU refers to the time required for the CU to notify the DU, and the determined transmission time of the system information refers to the time transmitted in each period, for example, the period for transmitting the system message is 2s, and then the system message is transmitted every 2 s.
The target time is a final time limit, i.e. the CU sends the determined system information and the time information to the DU before the target time arrives. This is done to avoid that the target time has arrived and the CU has not yet sent the determined system information and the time information to the DU, resulting in that the DU has no way to send the system information and the time information to the terminal in time.
Optionally, when sending the determined system information and the time information to the DU, the CU sends the determined system information, the time information, and the system information type to the DU together.
The time information here includes, but is not limited to, the following:
sending a period and a starting time of system information;
the period of the system information is a terminal period used for determining that the DU sends the configured system information to the message applying for the system information, for example, if the period is 2S, the system information is sent every 2S;
the starting time refers to the starting time of the DU sending the configured system message to the terminal applying for the message of the system information; in specific implementation, the period may be implemented by a frame number of a subframe, for example, if a period time is 2s and a subframe 1 is a starting time, a period of 2s is also calculated from the subframe 1.
If the system information configured to the DU is changed, that is, the CU sends a page like a terminal, the CU sends a paging message to the DU together with the system reconfiguration message, so that the DU sends the paging message to the terminal.
The paging means that when a CN (Core Net, Core network) needs to establish a connection with a user, the CN initiates a paging procedure. Under the condition, the CN sends a paging message to a UTRAN (Terrestrial Radio Access Network) through the Iu interface, and the UTRAN sends a CN paging message to the UE through a paging procedure on the Uu interface, so that the paged UE initiates a signaling connection establishment procedure with the CN.
That is, if a CU needs to send a paging message to a terminal, the paging message may be sent to the DU together with a system reconfiguration message, so that the DU sends the paging message to the terminal together with the system reconfiguration message; if the CU does not need to send paging messages to the terminal, the CU does not need to send paging messages to the DU; or if the paging message is not generated simultaneously with the system reconfiguration message, it is not necessary to transmit the paging message to the DU.
It should be noted that the above listed information is only an example, and any information capable of determining the transmission period of the system information is applicable to the embodiment of the present invention.
Several possible implementations are listed below.

CU determines the system information to be configured according to the message of the terminal request system information sent by DU;
step 1003: the CU encodes the determined system information which needs to be configured by the terminal;
step 1004: the CU determines the sending time of the system information needing to be configured according to the system frame number;
step 1005: the CU determines a target moment according to the time delay between the CU and the DU and the determined sending time of the system information;
step 1006: before the target time arrives, the CU puts the determined system information and the time information used for determining the sending period of the system information into a system configuration message and sends the system configuration message to the DU;
step 1007: the DU receives system information from the CU configuration through a system reconfiguration message and determines time information for determining a transmission period of the system information;
step 1008: the DU determines a transmission period according to time information for determining the transmission period of the system information;
step 1009: and after the determined sending time of the DU is reached, sending the system information corresponding to the time information to a terminal which sends a message requesting the system information.
Correspondingly, there is another way for the system message to be triggered, that is, the CU does not receive the message requesting the system information from the DU, but determines the system information to be configured in advance, and sends the configured system information to the DU, and sends the system information to the terminal when the DU receives the message requesting the system information from the terminal;
the manner of transmitting the system information in this case is similar to that described above and will not be described again.
As shown in fig. 11, taking the system message as an example that the trigger is not needed and the DU cannot recognize the system message, another method for sending the system information is introduced:
step 1100: the CU determines system information needing configuration;
step 1101: the CU encodes the determined system information;
step 1102, the CU determines the sending time of the system information needing to be configured according to the system frame number;
step 1103: the CU determines a target moment according to the time delay between the CU and the DU and the determined sending time of the system information;
step 1104: before the target time arrives, the CU puts the determined system information and the time information used for determining the sending period of the system information into a system configuration message and sends the system configuration message to the DU;
step 1105: the DU receives system information from the CU configuration through a system reconfiguration message and determines time information for determining a transmission period of the system information;
step 1106: the DU determines a transmission period according to time information for determining the transmission period of the system information;
step 1107: and after the determined sending time of the DU is reached, sending the system information corresponding to the time information to a terminal which sends a message requesting the system information.
The system information that the CU determines needs to configure may be a manual notification or a high-level notification.

Claims (24)

1. A method for transmitting system information, the method comprising:
a centralized unit CU determines system information and time information for determining a transmission period and a transmission time of the system information;
the CU determines the sending time of the system information according to a system frame number, determines a target time according to the time delay between the CU and a distributed unit DU and the sending time of the system information, and sends the system information and the time information to the DU before the target time is reached, so that the DU determines a sending period and a starting time according to the time information and sends the system information according to the determined sending period and the starting time, wherein the sending period is the period for the DU to send the system information, and the starting time is the starting time for the DU to send the system information.
2. The method of claim 1, wherein the system information determined by the CU is encoded system information.
3. The method of claim 1, wherein the CU sends the determined system information and the time information to the DU, further comprising:

9. The method as claimed in claim 8, wherein the determining the transmission period according to the time information by the DU comprises:

10. The method as claimed in claim 8, wherein the DU receives system information from the CU configuration and time information corresponding to the system information, and comprises:

and if the DU cannot identify the system request message of the terminal mode, the DU sends the system request message to the CU so that the CU can determine the system information needing to be configured according to the terminal request message.
