Abstract

Description

防尘罩的定位环
本发明涉及供转动接头用的防尘罩装置的改进,具体涉及防尘罩的定位环。
防尘罩装置通常用于运载工具的吊挂装置上,用于密封保护例如连接杆端部这种部件上的球窝接头装置。防尘罩装置既将包含油脂的润滑剂保持在球窝接头内,又采用屏蔽球窝接头的方法使球窝接头免受道路上灰尘和其它污染物的污染。防尘罩由定位环固定在例如连接杆这样的配合部件上。定位环配置在防尘罩的底部,确定一个通向防尘罩空腔的开口。定位环通常部分地或完全地嵌入橡皮防尘罩内。定位环通常还具有许多径向向内延伸的指形物或翼片,该指形物适合于啮合连接杆的外壳表面。该指形物端部所构成的直径小于该指形物啮合的外壳的直径。当防尘罩在外壳上往下压时,指形物向外偏转。在指形物和外壳之间形成的最后啮合产生一种制动作用,使得防尘罩难于从连接杆端部上卸下来。将防尘罩安装在连接杆端部上时,为了与外壳形成要求的啮合,需要施加相当大的轴向力或向下的推力。
在安装期间,这种向下的推力众所周知会损坏防尘罩。在有些情况下,使得弹性体防尘罩部分与定位环分离。
简言之,已知的定位环设计要求对防尘罩施加很大的安装力,这就可能使防尘罩在安装时受到损坏。
本文公开的供连接装置使用的防尘罩装置包括一个弹性体的防尘罩和一个环形的定位环。弹性体的防尘罩约为杯形,具有一条纵轴线,沿轴线形成空腔。在防尘罩底部上的大体上共轴的第一开孔通向该空腔。定位环基本上与防尘罩的第一开孔同心并被约束在防尘罩的底部上。定位环还具有许多径向向内延伸的指形物。每个指形物上有一个指形物开孔,在对定位环施加轴向安装力使指形物啮合外壳表面时,该指形物开孔可以减少指形物的弯曲强度。
指形物和其上的开孔这样成形,使得使防尘罩装置与连接杆端部外壳啮合的轴向安装力显著低于没有指形物开孔的常规定位环要求的安装力。另外,指形物开孔还改进了防尘罩和定位环之间的机械结合特性,使得弹性体材料配置在定位环的两侧以及指形物开孔中。从以下的说明和附图可以更好地理解本发明的目的,以下简要地说明这些附图。

图1所示防尘罩装置10包括一个防尘罩或防尘罩密封件12、上部插入物14和定位环16。防尘罩装置10密封转动接头装置例如连接杆端部接头18,它既防止污物进入接头18又使润滑剂例如油脂保持在其中。在被安装的位置,防尘罩装置10的底部20与连接杆端部接头18的外壳24的凸出部22啮合。防尘罩装置10大体为杯形,从底部20延伸到上部26。上部26在靠在球头螺栓30或转动部件的锥形体28上而进行密封,该球头螺栓通过开口31从外壳24伸出。凸出部22构成开口31。球形螺栓30的球形部分32配置在连接杆端部接头18的外壳24中。
如图2所示,防尘罩密封件12具有中心纵轴线34。防尘罩密封件12具有定中在该轴线34上的杯形空腔36,该密封件12具有近似恒定厚度的软壁37。防尘罩密封件12的底部20上具有通向空腔36的第一开孔38,该第一开孔的尺寸适合于装在外壳24的凸出部22上。防尘罩密封件12具有第二开孔40,该开孔基本上与通向空腔36的第一开孔38同心,位于防尘罩10的上部26上。防尘罩12由弹性体材料例如聚氯丁橡胶构成。
防尘罩装置10的上部插入件14由充满玻璃的尼龙构成。上述插入件14由于限制了第二开孔40的径向膨胀,因而有助于在锥形体28和防尘罩密封件12之间保持密封状态。
定位环由金属例如SAE1065号钢构成。定位环16具有如图4所示的环形形状。定位环16基本上是平的。定位环16固定在防尘罩密封件12的底部20上,基本上与第一开孔38同心。
定位环16具有许多从环形部43向内径向延伸的指形物42或翼片。每个指状物42具有指形物开孔44,该开孔的方向大体平行轴线34。弹性体的防尘罩密封件12部分地配置在指形物开孔44中。防尘罩密封件的聚氯丁橡胶材料从定位环16的第一侧46穿过开孔44,到达定位环16的第二侧48,因而在定位环16和防尘罩密封件12之间形成机械结合。
在轴向力作用在指形物上时,和已知的未开孔的指形物相比,指形物42具有较低的弯曲强度。当将最后的定位环16安装到预定直径的轴棒上时,这将导致安装该环16的安装力降低。
最后的防尘罩装置10具有相当低的推动力或安装力,而且要再拆开还相当难,构成加固定位环16的极好的防尘罩密封件12。试验了一个实例,该实例的由指形物42的端部确定的内直径A等于34.77mm(1.369英寸)标称值,将它装在一个35.05mm(1.380英寸)直径的空心铣刀上。然后将该防尘罩装置从空心铣刀上退下来。此时用515N(116磅)的力便可将防尘罩装置从铣刀上退下来,同时防尘罩密封件保持完好无损,并固接在定位环16上。第二个试验是将具有同样尺寸定位环的防尘罩装置装在35.31mm(1.390英寸)的空心铣刀上,此时从铣刀上退下来要用919N(207磅)的力,同时防尘罩装置仍保持完好无损。
上面已公开了优选实施例。但是,对于熟悉这种技术的普通工人可以看到,在本发明的说明范围内,可以进行某些修改。例如,与图中所示情况相比,可能希望有更多数目的翼片或指形物42。同样,在每个指形物上最好形成一个以上的开孔,从而稍为增加指形物42的弯曲强度,而同时尽量减小对改进的机械结合强度的影响。为确定本发明真实的范围和内容应当研究以下的权利要求书。

Claims (5)

1.供弹性体密封防尘罩用的定位环,该环包括基本上是平的环形部分和许多指形物,该指形物与环形部分形成整体,并径向向内延伸,在每个指形物上具有开孔,其特征在于,当指形物在大体垂直于平的环形部分的方向受力作用时,该指形物开孔减小了指形物的弯曲强度。
2.如权利要求1所述的防尘罩装置,其特征在于,指形物开孔的方向基本上平行于轴线。
3.如权利要求1所述的防尘罩装置,其特征在于,弹性体防尘罩部分地配置在指形物开孔中。
4.如权利要求1所述的防尘罩装置,其特征在于,防尘罩从定位环的第一侧经过指形物开孔到达定位环的第二侧。
5.如权利要求1所述的定位环,其特征在于,指形物开孔的方向基本上垂直于平的环形部分。
