Fig. 1 is a flow diagram illustrating a method of identifying a handset hotspot WiFi network in accordance with some embodiments of the present invention.
In step S11, connect to the WiFi network and receive an air interface message. For example, the terminal as a network access device may connect to a WiFi network and receive an air interface message. The mobile phone sends an air interface message when starting the hotspot WiFi network, and a Capability info field of a probe response frame of the air interface message identifies a current network type, for example, the Capability info field may be identified as 1, which indicates that the current network type is a WiFi network of a mobile phone hotspot mode.
In step S12, it is determined whether the network type identified by the Capability info field of the Probe Response frame (Probe Response) of the air interface message is a WiFi network in a mobile hotspot mode. If so, the process proceeds to step S13, otherwise to step S14. For example, it may be determined whether the Capability info field of the probe response frame of the air interface message is 1 (that is, the Capability info field is 1, which indicates that the current network format is a WiFi network in a mobile hotspot mode), if so, the process proceeds to step S13, otherwise, the process proceeds to step S14.
In step S13, it is determined that the WiFi network currently accessed is a WiFi network in a mobile hotspot mode.
In step S14, it is determined that the WiFi network currently accessed is not a WiFi network in a mobile hotspot mode.
In this embodiment, the terminal may be connected to the WiFi network as a network access device and receive an air interface message. The air interface message is from a device for starting the WiFi network, for example, may be from a mobile phone for starting a hotspot WiFi network, or may be from a wireless router for starting the WiFi network. The Capability info field of the probe response frame of the air interface message identifies the current network type. For example, if the message is an air interface message sent by a mobile phone which starts a hotspot WiFi network, the Capability info field of the Probe Response frame of the air interface message is identified as 1, and the information is used as an identification bit for identifying the hotspot WiFi network of the mobile phone; if the message is an air interface message sent by the wireless router, the Capability info field of the Probe Response frame of the air interface message is not 1, and may be 0 or null, for example. Therefore, when receiving the air interface message, the terminal may make a determination according to whether the network type identified by the Capability info field is a WiFi network in a mobile hotspot mode, for example, a determination is made according to whether the Capability info field is 1, if so, it is determined that the currently accessed WiFi network is a WiFi network in a mobile hotspot mode, otherwise, it is not a WiFi network in a mobile hotspot mode.
According to the invention, the Capability info field of the detection response frame of the air interface message is set to serve as the identification bit for identifying the WiFi network of the mobile phone hotspot, so that the problem that whether the connected WiFi network is the WiFi network of the mobile phone hotspot mode or not can not be identified by the terminal in the prior art is solved.
In some embodiments, the method for identifying a WiFi network at a mobile hotspot may further include: if it is determined that the currently accessed WiFi network is a WiFi network in a mobile phone hotspot mode, when an Application module (APP) reads a current network type (or may also be referred to as a network mode), a network identification module (e.g., of a terminal) notifies the APP that the current network type is a 2G network, a 3G network, or a 4G network. The APP starts to use services after knowing that the current network mode is a 2G network, a 3G network or a 4G network, and the automatic downloading function in the WiFi mode is not started.
In this embodiment, when the terminal connects to the WiFi, it is determined whether the WiFi network to which the terminal is currently connected is from a mobile phone hotspot or a wireless router by reading a Capability info field in a Probe Response frame structure, and if the system acquires a WiFi network in which a network standard identified by a reserved field in the Capability info is a mobile phone hotspot mode, for example, the Capability info field is 1, the system regards such a connection mode as being connected to the network in a 2G/3G/4G mode; when the APP reads the network system, the system informs the APP that the current terminal is connected to the network in a 2G/3G/4G mode; the APP starts to use the service after knowing that the current network mode is the 2G/3G/4G network, and the automatic downloading function in the WiFi mode is not started, so that the problem that when a user connects to a mobile phone hotspot WiFi, the APP is automatically downloaded to increase the flow cost is solved.
In some embodiments, the method for identifying a WiFi network at a mobile hotspot may further include: and if the network type identified by the Capability info field of the detection response frame of the air interface message is judged not to be the WiFi network in the mobile phone hotspot mode, determining that the currently accessed WiFi network is the WiFi network of the wireless router. For example, if the Capability info field of the probe response frame of the air interface message is not 1 (e.g., 0 or null), it is determined that the WiFi network currently accessed by the terminal is the WiFi network of the wireless router. When the APP of the terminal reads the current network type, for example, the network identification module of the terminal notifies that the current network type of the APP is the WiFi network of the wireless router, the APP starts to use the service, and the automatic downloading function in the WiFi mode can be started.
Fig. 2 is a flow chart illustrating a method of identifying a handset hotspot WiFi network in accordance with further embodiments of the present invention.
In step S21, the handset turns on the hot WiFi network.
In step S22, the mobile phone sends an air interface message, and the Capability info field of the probe response frame of the air interface message identifies the current network type.
The terminal is connected with the WiFi network and receives air interface messages; and judging whether the network type identified by the Capability info field of the probe response frame of the air interface message is a WiFi network in a mobile phone hotspot mode, for example, whether the Capability info field is 1; if so, determining that the WiFi network accessed currently is the WiFi network in the mobile phone hotspot mode. Therefore, the problem that whether the connected WiFi network is a WiFi network in a mobile phone hotspot mode or not can not be identified by the terminal in the prior art is solved.
In some embodiments, the method for identifying a WiFi network at a mobile hotspot may further include: if the terminal determines that the currently accessed WiFi network is a WiFi network in a mobile phone hotspot mode, when the APP of the terminal reads the current network mode, (for example, a network identification module of the terminal) informs the APP that the current network mode is a 2G network, a 3G network or a 4G network. The APP starts to use services after knowing that the current network mode is a 2G network, a 3G network or a 4G network, and the automatic downloading function in the WiFi mode is not started. Therefore, the problem that when a user connects to a mobile phone hotspot WiFi, the APP is automatically downloaded to increase the flow overhead is solved.
In some embodiments, the method for identifying a WiFi network at a mobile hotspot may further include: if the terminal judges that the network type identified by the Capability info field of the probe response frame of the air interface message is not the WiFi network in the mobile phone hotspot mode, for example, the Capability info field is not 1, it is determined that the currently accessed WiFi network is the WiFi network of the wireless router. When the APP of the terminal reads the current network type, for example, the network identification module of the terminal notifies that the current network type of the APP is the WiFi network of the wireless router, the APP starts to use the service, and the automatic downloading function in the WiFi mode can be started.
Fig. 3 is a flow chart illustrating a method of identifying a handset hotspot WiFi network in accordance with further embodiments of the present invention.
In step S31, the mobile phone starts the hot WiFi network, and informs the terminal of the current network type through an air interface message. In step S32, the APP of the terminal is turned on. I.e. to start the APP of the network access device.
At step S33, the APP queries the current network scheme. For example, the APP may query the current network standard by calling an API (application programming Interface).
In step S34, the reply APP current terminal connects to the network in a 2G/3G/4G manner. Namely, when the terminal system determines that the currently accessed WiFi network is the WiFi network in the mobile phone hotspot mode, the terminal system regards the connection network mode as the connection network mode of 2G, 3G or 4G; when the APP reads the network system, the terminal system informs the APP that the current terminal is connected to the network in a 2G, 3G or 4G mode.
At step S35, the APP does not turn on the automatic download function in the WiFi mode.
At step S36, the APP uses the service.
The embodiment solves the problem that when the user connects to the mobile phone hotspot WiFi, the APP is automatically downloaded to increase the flow overhead.

The mobile phone sends an air interface message when starting the hotspot WiFi network, and a Capability info field of a probe response frame of the air interface message identifies a current network type, for example, the Capability info field is 1.
