Technical Field

Background
With the prosperous development of mobile communication technology, a situation that a plurality of mobile communication standards coexist appears. Currently, a user equipment (user equipment) can generally support two or more mobile communication standards. Even some mobile operators impose requirements on the operator contract engine to support at least 5 mobile communication standards. The coexistence of multiple mobile communication standards brings many inconveniences, especially in the call waiting configuration.
In some LTE (Long Term Evolution) networks, for VoLTE (Voice over LTE), call waiting is always on the network side. This means that in the IMS (internet protocol Multimedia Subsystem) domain, the network side always allows the third incoming call to access the user equipment in the call, and the user equipment may configure a call waiting in the user equipment, thereby setting whether to allow the third incoming call to access. The IMS domain differs from the CS domain in the call waiting configuration, resulting in confusion in the management of call waiting by the user equipment. When VoLTE user equipment is configured with call waiting, the configuration is only valid in the IMS domain, and when the user equipment is operating in a non-VoLTE environment, call waiting may not be valid in the CS domain. Similarly, when the ue operates in a non-VoLTE environment, after the user turns off the VoLTE function, after the CS domain configures the call waiting, and after the user enables the VoLTE function in the VoLTE environment, the call waiting also cannot be valid in the IMS domain, which causes poor user experience.

In the embodiment of the present invention, if it is determined that the first call waiting state is different from the second call waiting state, a prompt message may be displayed. The alerting information may notify a user so that the user determines whether to configure the first call waiting state and the second call waiting state in the user equipment to the same state.
The scheme can avoid confusion caused by different call waiting states set in the CS domain and the IMS domain when the user uses the call waiting function.
