技术领域
本发明的各方面涉及移动终端及其控制方法,并且更特别地涉及针对软件和/或硬件特征的许可密钥(key)的基于位置的供应(provisioning)的移动终端及其控制方法。
背景技术
通常,计算设备可被认为归入两类:固定的和移动的。固定终端通常合并到静止物体中(如销售点系统和墙)。与固定设备相比,移动终端具有类似的电子配置,但在机械上被设计为由用户随身携带或安装在可移动物体上(如汽车、推车和叉式升降机)。举例来说,移动终端可以是导航系统、电话、个人数字助理(PDA)或便携式数据终端(PDT)。
最近,计算设备已经装备有内部或外部全球定位系统(GPS)接收机。GPS接收机在任意给定时间动态地提供计算设备的位置、方向和/或速度信息。特别地,位置信息采取坐标对的形式(经度和纬度)。然后将位置信息显示给用户,或以其他方式在计算设备中使用。例如,能够将位置信息输入正在执行的软件程序,以载入附近的餐馆和吸引人的东西。
但是,位置信息不控制计算设备或其硬件和软件特征的许可(也就是对使用的准许)。而是,许可密钥控制计算设备中所安装的软件或硬件特征的许可。具体来说,软件或硬件特征被安装在终端中,用正确的许可密钥来准予对使用软件或硬件特征的准许。
可以用多种方式将许可密钥发送给计算设备(例如,从许可密钥服务器经由网络提供)。但是,在计算设备接收到许可密钥之后,利用许可密钥来的准许对相应的硬件或软件特征的使用通常是不受限制的。例如,软件制造商不能根据执行软件的计算设备的位置来控制其软件的使用。因此,需要一种根据计算设备的软件或硬件特征的位置来控制软件或硬件特征的使用的方法。
发明内容
本发明的各方面提供一种针对软件和/或硬件特征的许可密钥的基于位置的供应的计算设备及其控制方法。
根据本发明的一个方面,提供了一种计算设备,其根据当前位置启用其特征,所述计算设备包括:位置单元,用于确定计算设备的当前位置;和许可单元,用于确定当前位置是否对应于预定授权位置,并且如果当前位置对应于授权位置,则启用所述特征。
根据本发明的另一个方面,提供一种方法,其根据计算设备的当前位置启用计算设备的特征,该方法包括:确定计算设备的当前位置;确定当前位置是否对应于预定授权位置;并且如果当前位置对应于授权位置则启用所述特征。

图1是根据本发明的实施例的计算设备的框图。参考图1,计算设备包括位置单元110、许可单元120、存储单元130和控制单元140。
位置单元110确定计算设备的当前位置。此外,位置单元110可以生成包括对应于计算设备的当前位置的坐标对(例如经度和纬度坐标对)的位置信息。位置单元110可以是全球定位系统(GPS)接收机。

控制单元140控制计算设备的上述组件110、120和130的全部操作。此外,如果计算设备的当前位置对应于属于某个软件特征的授权位置,则控制单元140利用(例如)许可密钥来启用存储单元130中储存的该软件特征(或程序)。例如,如果授权位置(25度、25分和25秒赤道以北,和25度、25分和25秒西)对应于储存的软件特征,则如果计算设备的当前位置是(25度、25分和25秒赤道以北,和25度、25分和25秒西),那么控制单元140就启用所述软件特征。
此外,如果控制单元140启用所述软件特征,则位置单元110可以按照预定时间间隔周期性地确定计算设备的新的当前位置,以使得当计算设备离开授权位置时控制单元140停用该软件特征。也就是说如果许可单元120确定新的当前位置不对应于授权位置,则控制单元140停用该软件特征。但是,可以理解的是,本发明的各个方面不限于此。可替换地,一旦软件特征被启用,该软件特征就永不被停用,或者该软件特征可以在预定时间段之后被停用。
授权位置可以嵌入在软件特征的许可密钥中。从而,许可单元120从许可密钥中提取授权位置,并且如果位置单元110所确定的当前位置对应于提取的授权位置的话,则启用软件特征。在这种情况下,当接收到许可密钥时,许可单元120可以使用公开密钥来打开(或解密)许可密钥,提取并接着储存授权位置。因此,当需要许可的软件特征要被启用时,许可单元120向位置单元110询问计算设备的当前位置,并确定当前位置是否对应于储存的授权位置。
根据其他方面,许可密钥本身可以用授权位置来加密,以使得如果许可单元140成功地用当前位置解密了许可密钥的话,则许可单元120确定当前位置对应于授权位置。具体来说,可以提取定义授权位置的信息(例如坐标对)以创建加密密钥,其用于加密许可密钥。因此,只有当前位置与授权位置匹配时,许可密钥才能被解密。此外,许可密钥在被接收到时不被处理,而是被储存,直到(例如)控制单元140调用许可单元120以准予或拒绝软件特征访问请求。在这种情况下,授权位置也可以被嵌入到许可密钥中,以使得当计算设备离开授权位置时控制单元140停用软件特征,如上文所描述的那样。

当许可单元120被调用以许可软件特征时,许可单元120向位置单元110询问当前位置。在确定了计算设备的当前位置时,位置单元110根据上述预定增量来转换该位置。许可单元120从许可密钥中获取定义授权位置220的信息。例如,该信息可以包括授权位置220的中心230的坐标对以及授权位置220的方形区域的边长。该信息是未加密的,或是用公共密钥加密的,以使得许可单元120能够在不考虑计算设备的位置的情况下获取该信息。因此,许可单元基于该信息确定当前位置是否落在授权位置220内。
正如上文参考图1所描述的那样,在许可密钥是用授权位置来加密的情况下,例如,定义授权位置220的中心230的坐标对可用于加密许可密钥。因此,利用当前位置240或250以及根据授权位置220的方形区域的边长来定义的方形区域内的所有舍入的坐标对,许可单元110发起解密尝试错误(trial and error)循环以解密许可密钥,其中当前位置240或250是方形区域的中心。因此,如果当前位置240在授权位置220内,则在尝试错误循环中所使用的一个坐标对与用于加密许可密钥的坐标对230匹配,且因此会成功地解密该许可密钥。否则,在使用了方形区域的所有可能的坐标且未成功解密许可密钥之后,许可单元120确定当前位置250不在授权位置220内。
图3是图示出根据本发明实施例给计算设备供应许可密钥的方法的流程图。参考图3,在操作S300中确定计算设备的当前位置。此外,可以生成位置信息,其包括对应于计算设备的当前位置的坐标对(例如经度和纬度坐标对)。计算设备的当前位置可以由GPS接收机来确定。
然后,在操作S310中,将当前位置(操作S300)与预定授权位置进行比较。授权位置可以是一个特定坐标对,限定区域,多个坐标对或多个限定区域。同样,正如上文参考图1所描述的那样,授权位置可以被嵌入许可密钥中,或可用于加密许可密钥。
如果当前位置对应于授权位置(操作S310),则在操作S320中,例如利用该许可密钥,启用属于该授权位置的一个或多个软件特征。此外,如果一个或多个软件特征被启用(操作S320),则可以按照预定时间间隔周期性地检查计算设备的新的当前位置,以使得如果计算设备离开该授权位置则停用所述一个或多个软件特征。但是,可以理解的是,本发明的各个方面不限于此。可替换地,一旦被启用(操作S320),所述一个或多个软件特征就可能永不被停用,或者所述一个或多个软件特征可以在预定时间段之后被停用(例如许可密钥期满)。
图4是图示出根据本发明另一个实施例给计算设备供应许可密钥的方法的流程图。参考图4,在操作S400中确定计算设备的当前位置。此外,可以生成位置信息,其包括对应于计算设备的当前位置的坐标对(例如经度和纬度坐标对)。计算设备的当前位置可以由GPS接收机来确定。
在操作S410中,按照预定增量来转换当前位置(操作S400),其中所述预定增量被普遍应用于可适用的地理区域的所有坐标。根据其他方面,一个预定增量可应用于纵坐标,而另一个预定增量可应用于横坐标。无论怎样,这有效地产生了对应于地理区域的网格,其中网格的每个单元格是最小参考单元且每个单元格具有相同的大小。
在操作S420中获取定义一个或多个软件特征的授权位置的信息。授权位置可以是一个特定坐标对,限定区域,多个坐标对或多个限定区域。同样,正如上文参考图1所描述的那样,授权位置可以被嵌入许可密钥中,或可以用于加密该许可密钥。举例来说,正如上文参考图2所描述的那样,定义授权位置的信息可以包括授权位置的中心的坐标对以及授权位置的方形区域的边长。

图5和6图示出根据本发明实施例的便携式数据终端(PDT)300。当在系统层面察看时,PDT 300示出了移动计算设备所使用的各种子系统。因此,虽然下面的讨论集中于PDT,但本发明的各个方面不限于此。也就是说,本发明的各个方面可应用于其它类型的移动终端(如个人数字助理和电话)和固定终端(如个人电脑)。

根据本发明的各方面,PDT 300(例如图像信号生成系统350和RFID读取器单元360)的一个或多个上述组件、控制PDT 300的一个或多个上述组件的软件特征、和/或存储器305n中储存的软件特征根据PDT 300的当前位置而被许可使用。具体来说,当用户希望使用PDT 300的特定硬件和/或软件特征时,CPU 302从GPS接收机380接收PDT 300的当前位置。CPU 302确定当前位置是否对应于属于期望硬件和/或软件特征的授权位置。授权位置可以是一个坐标对,多个坐标对,一个限定区域或多个限定区域。
同样,授权位置可以被嵌入期望硬件和/或软件特征的许可密钥中。从而,CPU 302从许可密钥中提取授权位置,并且如果当前位置对应于所提取的授权位置的话,则启用期望特征。根据其他方面,许可密钥本身可以用授权位置来加密,从而正如上文参考图1和2所描述的那样,如果CPU 302成功地用当前位置解密了许可密钥的话,则CPU 302确定当前位置对应于授权位置。
在本公开中,CPU 302被描述为控制对使用期望特征的授权。但是应该理解的是,根据其他方面,一个或多个辅处理器312、314和316可以针对一个或多个软件和/或硬件特征执行该功能。
如上所述,根据本发明的各方面,可以根据计算设备的当前位置来控制对使用计算设备的软件特征或硬件特征的准许。
本发明的各方面还能实现为计算机可读记录介质上的计算机可读代码。同样,用来实现本发明的代码和代码段可以由本发明所属领域内有经验的编程者很容易地编制。计算机可读记录介质是能够储存数据的任何数据储存装置,这些数据之后由计算机系统或计算机代码处理装置读取。计算机可读记录介质的例子包括只读存储器(ROM)、随机存取存储器(RAM)、CD-ROM、磁带、软盘,以及光数据储存装置。计算机可读记录介质还可以分布在网络耦合的计算机系统上,从而计算机可读代码以分布式方式储存和执行。本发明的各方面还可以被实现为包含于载波中并且包括计算机可读程序并且能够在因特网上传送的数据信号。
虽然已经显示和描述了本发明的一些实施例,但本领域技术人员可以理解的是,可以在不脱离本发明的原理和精神的情况下对该实施例进行改变,本发明的范围定义于权利要求及其等同物中。
Claims (15)
1.一种计算设备,其根据当前位置而启用其特征,所述计算设备包括:
位置单元,用于确定计算设备的当前位置;和
许可单元,用于确定当前位置是否对应于预定授权位置,并且如果当前位置对应于授权位置则启用所述特征。
2.如权利要求1所述的计算设备,其中:
位置单元根据当前位置生成包括坐标对的位置信息;
许可单元确定坐标对是否对应于预定授权坐标对,并且如果坐标对对应于授权坐标对,则启用所述特征。
3.如权利要求1所述的计算设备,其中,如果许可单元启用所述特征,则位置单元按照预定时间间隔周期性地确定计算设备的新的当前位置,并且如果新的当前位置不对应于授权位置,则许可单元停用所述特征。
4.如权利要求1所述的计算设备,其中如果当前位置对应于嵌入在所述特征的许可密钥中的预定授权位置,则许可单元启用所述特征。
5.如权利要求1所述的计算设备,其中许可单元用许可密钥来启用所述特征,所述许可密钥是用授权位置的坐标对加密的,以使得如果许可单元用当前位置的坐标对解密了许可密钥,则许可单元确定当前位置对应于授权位置。
6.如权利要求1所述的计算设备,其中:
授权位置是包括N个区域单元格的区域,每个区域单元格具有预定大小;
位置单元将计算设备的当前位置转换为包括当前位置的区域单元格的参考点的坐标对,所述区域单元格具有预定大小;和
许可单元确定所转换的坐标对是否是授权位置的N个区域单元格中任一个的参考点,并且如果所转换的坐标对是N个区域单元格中任一个的参考点,则启用所述特征。
7.如权利要求1所述的计算设备,其中:
授权位置是包括N个区域单元格的区域,每个区域单元格具有预定大小,以及N个区域单元格之中的中心区域单元格的参考点的第一坐标对;
位置单元将计算设备的当前位置转换为包括当前位置的区域单元格的参考点的第二坐标对,所述区域单元格具有预定大小,并确定第一坐标对、和授权位置的至少一边的长度、授权位置的直径或半径、授权位置的形状和/或授权位置的面积;
许可单元确定第三坐标对是否匹配第一坐标对,并且如果第三坐标对匹配第一坐标对则启用所述特征;并且
第三坐标对是具有授权位置的形状和面积的区域中的N个区域单元格中任一个的参考点的坐标对,其是根据所确定的授权位置的至少一边的长度、授权位置的直径或半径、授权位置的形状、和/或授权位置的面积来确定的,并且以包括当前位置的区域单元格作为中心。
8.一种根据计算设备的当前位置启用计算设备的特征的方法,所述方法包括:
确定计算设备的当前位置;
确定当前位置是否对应于预定授权位置;并且
如果当前位置对应于授权位置,则启用所述特征。
9.如权利要求8的方法,进一步包括:
如果所述特征被启用,则按照预定时间间隔周期性地确定计算设备的新的当前位置,并且如果新的当前位置不对应于授权位置则停用所述特征。
10.如权利要求8所述的方法,其中,
启用所述特征包括:用许可密钥来启用所述特征,所述许可密钥是用授权位置的坐标对来加密的;并且
确定当前位置是否对应于授权位置包括:如果用当前位置的坐标对解密了许可密钥,则确定当前位置对应于授权位置。
11.如权利要求8所述的方法,其中:
授权位置是包括N个区域单元格的区域,每个区域单元格具有预定大小;
确定当前位置包括:将计算设备的当前位置转换为包括计算设备的当前位置的区域单元格的参考点的坐标对,所述区域单元格具有预定大小;
确定当前位置是否对应于授权位置包括:确定所转换的坐标对是否是授权位置的N个单元格中任一个的参考点;并且
启用所述特征包括:如果所转换的坐标对是N个区域单元格中任一个的参考点,则启用所述特征。
12.如权利要求8所述的方法,其中:
授权位置是包括N个区域单元格的区域,每个区域单元格具有预定大小,以及N个区域单元格之中的中心区域单元格的参考点的第一坐标对;
确定当前装置包括:将计算设备的当前位置转换为包括当前位置的区域单元格的参考点的第二坐标对,所述区域单元格具有预定大小,并确定第一坐标对、和授权位置的至少一边的长度、授权位置的直径或半径、授权位置的形状、和/或授权位置的面积;
确定当前位置是否对应于授权位置包括:确定第三坐标对是否匹配第一坐标对,其中第三坐标对是具有授权位置的形状和面积的区域中的N个区域单元格中任一个的参考点的坐标对,其是根据所确定的授权位置的至少一边的长度、授权位置的直径或半径、授权位置的形状、和/或授权位置的面积来确定的,并且以包括当前位置的区域单元格为中心;并且
启用所述特征包括:如果第三坐标对匹配第一坐标对,则启用所述特征。
13.一种便携式数据终端(PDT),其根据当前位置而启用其特征,所述PDT包括:
全球定位系统接收机,用于确定PDT的当前位置;
至少一个存储单元,用于储存至少一个软件特征;
至少一个数据输入设备,用于接收用户输入;
显示单元,用于显示PDT所生成的数据;
至少一个通信单元,用于向/从外部源发送和/或接收数据;
至少一个数据收集子系统,用于根据接收的波形或收集的光来生成数据;和
至少一个处理单元,用于确定当前位置是否对应于预定授权位置,并且如果当前位置对应于授权位置,则启用至少一个数据输入设备、显示单元、至少一个通信单元、至少一个数据收集子系统和/或至少一个软件特征中的一个或多个。
14.如权利要求13所述的PDT,其中如果当前位置对应于嵌入在所述特征的许可密钥中的预定授权位置,则至少一个处理单元启用所述特征。
15.如权利要求13所述的PDT,其中至少一个处理单元用许可密钥启用所述特征,所述许可密钥是用授权位置的坐标对来加密的,以使得如果至少一个处理单元用当前位置的坐标对解密了许可密钥,则至少一个处理单元确定当前位置对应于授权位置。
