Abstract

The watch includes rotating rings which enable the tariff to be determined for any chosen time of day. The watch includes an analogue display with four concentric rings (10-13) with a circle (14) at their center. The rings are divided into sectors (15-18) of different colors. Each sector covers an interval of time corresponding to a given telephone tariff, with the color indicating the tariff which is applicable at this time. The days of the week from Monday to Friday are written around the two outermost rings, whilst the festivals including Sundays are displayed in the central circle. The rings also include an alternate marking for both a.m. and p.m. times. By manipulation of the rings, it is possible to determine when a particular tariff is in force on a specific day of the week.

Description

The rapid development of telecommunications leads to an ever more frequent use of the telephone, in particular the mobile telephone. As the rate of communications varies during the day and the days of the week, it is important to know to call at the lowest cost, what is the rate charged at different times of the days of the week.

The present invention provides a timepiece which allows the desired information to be easily obtained.

To achieve this objective, the timepiece according to the invention, comprising an analog display of the time using hands moving between a dial and a glass opposite the hour markers, is mainly remarkable in that the dial and / or the mirror includes means for indicating the telephone rate charged at a given time on weekdays.

Other characteristics and advantages of the timepiece according to the present invention will emerge from the description which follows, given with reference to the appended drawing and giving, by way of explanation but in no way limiting, an example of embodiment of such a timepiece. watchmaking. In this drawing, where the same references relate to similar elements:

   - fig. 1 shows in a front view an embodiment of a wristwatch according to the invention; and
   - fig. 2 is a front view of the watch crystal.

The drawing represents a preferred embodiment of the timepiece according to the invention. It is a wristwatch with analog time display intended for Italy, a country in which four different telephone rates are charged.

The reference 1 designates on this drawing the watch case. Inside the case is arranged a clockwork movement, not shown, mechanical or electronic, driving hands 2, 3 arranged between a dial 4 and a crystal 5, both of circular shape. Hour markers 6, placed at the edge of the dial, divide it into 12 equal parts. Finally, a bracelet 7 enables the watch to be attached to the wrist.

The dial 4 has four concentric circular rings referenced respectively, starting from the outside of the dial, 10, 11, 12 and 13, the inner ring 13 delimiting a central circle 14. Each ring is divided into sectors different from each other others by a color, ranging from white to more or less dark gray. Each sector corresponds to a given telephone tariff, and the darker the sector, the higher the tariff. The indexes 6 make it possible to determine in which time slot there is a given sector. The ring 11 thus comprises four sectors, respectively referenced 15, 16, 17 and 18 in descending order of the tariffs.

The glass 5 carries on its side, opposite the line 20 separating the rings 10 and 11, the inscriptions of the days of the week going from Monday (Monday), referenced 21, to Friday (Venerdi) 22. Similarly opposite line 23 separating the rings 12 and 13 is inscribed on Saturday (sabato) 24, and festivals (festivi) 25, including Sunday, opposite circle 14. Finally opposite rings 10 and 12 is the inscription am referenced 26 , and the inscription pm referenced 27 opposite rings 11 and 13, am indicating the hours of the morning and pm those of the afternoon.

A pattern 28 formed of four different color areas reminding of the progression of prices, is also shown on bracelet 7 for both practical and aesthetic purposes. Of course the prices could be shown explicitly on the beaches in the currency of the country.

The use of the watch which has just been described is very simple. To find out, for example, the prices charged in the afternoon, from Monday to Friday, consider ring 11, since it is opposite pm. Sector 15, corresponding to the highest tariff, extends in this case from 12 to 1 p.m., sector 16 from 1 to 6.30 p.m., sector 17 from 6.30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and sector 18, corresponding to lowest rate, from 22 to 24 hours. If it is a question of determining, another example, which tariff is practiced on Saturday morning at 10 am, it suffices to consider the part of the ring 12 located opposite the index 6 indicating 10 hours, to see that the tariff just above the lowest tariff is applicable.

It goes without saying that the timepiece which has just been described can undergo different modifications and come in other variants, obvious to the skilled person, without departing from the scope of the present invention. In particular, the timepiece could be a form watch or a fixed timepiece. The graphic symbols, comprising the sectors and the inscriptions, could appear in different forms, and be found all on the dial or all on the ice. Colors other than degraded grays could be used for the sectors, the ranges of the bracelet and the inscriptions. The timepiece could only have two rings and the central circle, and no inscription am and pm, if the dial is divided into 24 hours.

Finally, it is obvious that the timepiece could easily be adapted to indicate the telephone rate in a country other than Italy.
