Abstract

The hinged door (10) is for a kitchen or household appliance, esp. a dishwashing machine. The door is hinged at the bottom, and has a decorative front panel (11) which extends down below the hinge line. It is rigidly fixed to the door structure (10) and its lower edge can swing back and up into a recess when the door is opened. The hinge consists of a peg (24) fastened to the structure of the dishwasher on either side of the door opening, and a plate (13) on either side of the door has a curved slot (22) engaging the peg and defining the hinging movement of the door.
