REVENDICATIONS

CLAIMS
1. Watch case comprising a middle-bezel (1), a base (2) and a mineral glass crystal (3) in the form of a plate fixed in a housing (6, 7) of the middle-bezel by means of an elastic seal (5) having a portion compressed radially between the glass and the side wall of said housing and a heel (5b) engaging under the glass, the side wall of the glass housing having a projection (8) s extending around its circumference at the height of the glass forming a retaining notch for said gasket, characterized in that said gasket (5) also has a bead-shaped part (5c) extending over above and on the glass and the middle-bezel, so as to ensure an elastic suspension and protection of the glass.
2. Watch case according to claim 1, characterized in that said lining (5) is made of polyamide.
The subject of the present invention is a watch case comprising a middle-bezel, a bottom and a crystal glass in the form of a plate fixed in a housing of the middle-bezel by means of an elastic sealing gasket having a part compressed radially between the glass and the side wall of said housing and a heel engaging under the glass, the side wall of the glass housing having a projection extending on its circumference at the height of the glass and forming a retaining notch for said trim.
Such fixing of the glass is known from the document
FR-A-2 095 350. The filling has an L-shaped section. This filling is placed simultaneously with the glass. It has also been proposed to suspend the glass elastically by means of a toroidal packing (CH 504 042). These methods of fixing the glass certainly provide a seal and dampen the transmission to the ice of the shocks to which the box is subjected, but they do not at all protect the glass against direct shocks. In particular, the glass is absolutely not protected against contact or impact against a hard flat surface or against a bar, an upright, etc.
The object of the present invention is to obtain a tight fixing of a mineral glass lens in which the lens is resiliently suspended and protected not only against impacts sustained by the metallic part of the box but also against impacts that could be directly sustained.
lie this ice. The watch must be able to strike in particular
regulated, hard, flat, cylindrical, prismatic surfaces.
etc., without the ice coming into contact with this surface.
To this end, the watch case according to the invention is
characterized by the fact that said seal
further has a bead-like portion extending
above and on the glass and the middle-bezel, all of
so as to provide elastic suspension and protection
ice.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, a shape
of execution of the watch case according to the invention.
Figure 1 is a view in axial half-section 6h-12h.
Figure 2 is a cross section of the packing in the state
free.
The box shown comprises a middle-bezel 1, a
screwed bottom 2 and a lens 3 constituted by a plate in
mineral glass. The bottom is sealed by a
trim 4. The glass 3 is fixed by means of a trim 5
in a housing delimited by a horizontal span 6 and
a vertical wall 7 having, in its upper part,
a peripheral projection 8 forming a notch.
In the uncompressed state (FIG. 2), the lining 5 has
a vertical part of rectangular section 5a, a heel 5b
engaging under the ice 3 and a widening 5c to its part
upper, in the form of a rounded bead, part of which
protrudes from the side of the glass and forms a 5d groove of
rectangular section in which the edge is housed
ice 3 and a portion extending over the middle
glasses. The lining 5 also has a chamfer 5e at the
heel height 5b to facilitate its introduction into the
ice housing. The gasket 5 is first mounted
on ice 3 then ice and its filling are introduced
in the glass housing of the middle part.
The part
lower part 5a of the trim, first of all
compressed between the projection 8 and the glass 3 slightly relaxes
in the notch formed below the projection 8, which ensures
good retention of the lining 5 and consequently of the
glass 3, which is fixed at level with the middle part
glasses, but being protected by the bead 5c.
We see that the watch case is thus protected
against most of the shocks she can take in a
current use, because we generally encounter
flat surfaces or straight edges or bars whose
length is greater than the diameter, respectively at most
large diameter of the packing 5. This packing is
also susceptible to receiving and retaining shocks
lateral.
The lining 5 is, for example, in polyamide 66 or in
rubber, but the invention is of course not limited to a particular material of the lining, nor to a shape
particular of the protruding part 5c.
