The invention relates to a measuring device for remote display of the fill level in a silo or tank. So far, the level of silos has been determined either by direct measurement with a dipstick, by inspection or electronically using a kind of echo sounder. Only the last-mentioned measuring method allows remote display.
The object of the invention is to create a measuring device which is constructed as simply as possible and allows remote display of the fill level.
According to the invention, this goal can be achieved with a measuring device that is characterized by a flat hose mounted vertically in the silo or tank, on the opposite flat inner walls of which at least one electrical conductor extending over the entire length of the hose and at least one resistance wire extending over the entire length of the hose are attached, the whole in such a way that where the hose is acted upon by bulk material or liquid, its flat walls approach so far that the conductor and resistance wire make contact with one another. whereby the contact-making contact length, which forms a scale for the filling level, can be measured electrically.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the subject invention is shown, namely shows:
1 shows a schematic representation of a measuring device with part of a silo in section,
FIGS. 2 and 3 show a cross section of a flat tube in the free and loaded state.
In Fig. 1 the wall of a silo, 2 a flat hose attached to the silo wall and S bulk material, which makes up the contents of the silo. Where the bulk material hits the hose. it is compressed by the pressure of the same. In the tube, on opposite flat inner walls of the same. an electrical conductor 20 and a resistance wire 21 are attached, which make contact with one another in the compressed part of the hose.
Such a flat hose is shown in detail in FIGS. 2 and 3. It is composed of several parts. On the flat rubber part 24 there are three resistance wires 21 and on the flat part 23 a wide conductor 20 is fixed.
These two parts are made of somewhat harder rubber and then combined with the two side parts 22, which are U-shaped in cross section, to form a flat tube. In the pressurized state, the hose is pressed approximately into the shape shown in FIG. 3. The resistance wires 21 come into contact-making contact with the conductor 20. Both natural and synthetic rubber or plastic can be used as materials. The resistance wires 21 are made of electrical resistance material, nic z. B <c constantan, and the conductor 20 consists for example of silver-plated or gold-plated copper.
The resistance measured at the upper end of the hose gives a direct measure of the fill level of the silo.
The measurement shows the filling level H, which means that the cone of material, corresponding to the height h, is not taken into account. However, since the cone is known for every product, it can be added to the measured value if this is desired. The measurement can either be determined directly, i.e. by the voltage drop, or with the help of a measuring bridge. The smaller the measured resistance value, the higher the level.
In the drawing, three remote display devices 3 are shown, each of which is connected to one of the three resistance wires 21. The voltage source is labeled 4.
In the hose 2, which is closed at both ends, the gas or air pressure is kept constant. A small pump P, a pressure regulating valve R and a manometer M, on which the pressure can be read, are used for this purpose. The pressure is to be measured in such a way that it is compressed where the hose is exposed to the bulk material so that the conductor and resistance wire make contact with one another.
On the other hand, the pressure inside should ensure that the hose walls are kept at a sufficient distance from one another where the hose is not pressurized. In other words: the gas or air pressure inside the hose must be adapted to the specific weight or the pressure that the bulk material in the silo or the liquid in the tank exerts on the hose wall.
