Abstract
The surveillance system is for stores, banks etc. It has a television camera driven by an electric motor along a rail inside ducting which may be suspended from the ceiling. The ducting resembles a large tubular light fitting. The lower half of the ducting is closed by a transparent U-shaped cover (2) metallised so that it acts as a one-way mirror obscuring the camera from view but allowing the camera operator to see everything in the field of view of the camera. The camera can pivot about the axis of the rail. A blinking light may be included to attract an observer's attention.
Description

The present invention relates to a monitoring installation
lance comprising at least one camera.
We know the principle of surveillance by cameras placed
fixed or rotatable on their axes. It is obvious
that such a monitoring installation has a field
limited action because the visual field that these cameras can
control is very limited and depends on the characteristics of the
Goals. In addition, these cameras are visible.
These drawbacks cannot be ignored by an observer, and the present invention aims to eliminate them.
The surveillance installation, object of the invention, is characterized by the fact that the camera can move by servo-control along rails, the whole concealed by a cover in transparent material, one surface of which is metallized. so as to make it reflective for an observer while allowing the camera to take pictures. By this concealment and by this translation, the field covered by the camera is ignored. This ignorance of the field covered allows serious savings while developing the possibilities of monitoring the installation.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the monitoring installation which is the subject of the invention, formed of sections placed end to end, to reach the necessary length.
The camera 1 can move along the rails 3 in one direction or the other. The rails 3 can also be carriers, for example, of the supply current of the motor and, among other things, allow the various control links for the servo-control of the camera.
The cover 2 made of a suitable material is transparent from the camera and is reflective from the outside, thanks to a metallization applied over the entire internal or external surface and over its entire length.
The upper part 4 is made of an opaque material; it serves as a support for the whole assembly and allows the fixing of the entire surveillance installation to ceilings, walls, or any other suitable places.
Two visors 5 are arranged along the entire length of the cover and have the function of preventing the penetration of ambient light from above.
CLAIM
Surveillance installation comprising at least one camera, characterized in that said camera can move by servo-control along rails, the whole concealed by a cover of transparent material, one surface of which is metallized so to make it reflective for an observer while allowing the taking of pictures by the camera.
SUB-CLAIMS
1. Monitoring installation according to claim, characterized in that the metallized surface is partially covered by a product or an opaque material, leaving circular openings or in the form of longitudinal slits behind which the camera can move .
2. Monitoring installation according to claim and subclaim 1, characterized in that the cover (2) is made of a perfectly transparent colorless or tinted material.
3. Monitoring installation according to claim, characterized in that the cover is provided with indicator lights flashing or not, intended to attract the attention of an observer.
4. Monitoring installation according to claim, characterized in that the movement of the camera is obtained using a motor, moving jointly with said device, or fixed at a point of the installation, controlled by a remote servo system.
5. Monitoring installation according to claim, characterized in that the rails and the cover consist of adjustable elements one after the other, in order to obtain a monitoring installation of desired length and to facilitate the transport and installation.
