The subject of the main patent is a data processing device, in particular an encryption device, with at least one pluggable programmable memory, which has several individual memory elements and which is electrically and mechanically separable connected to the other components of the data processing device, in which the memory elements of the programmable memory and those with these Memory elements cooperating circuit elements of the data processing device are constructed in the same technology in order to transfer the information from the memory elements of the programmable memory to the other components of the data processing device directly and to program the programmable memory connected to the other components of the data processing device directly through the data processing device.
In the data processing device according to the main patent, the programmable memory is designed such that it can be programmed either by the data processing device or by a separate programming device. However, cases are now conceivable in which programming of the memory is necessary and neither the associated data processing device nor a suitable separate programming device is available.
In order to be able to eliminate this disadvantage, a data processing device, in particular an encryption device, is provided with at least one pluggable, programmable memory which has several individual memory elements and which is electrically and mechanically separable connected to the other components of the data processing device, the memory elements of the programmable memory and the circuit elements of the data processing device interacting with these memory elements are constructed using the same technology in order to transfer the information from the memory elements of the programmable memory directly to the other components of the data processing device and to program the programmable memory connected to the other components of the data processing device directly through the data processing device to be able to, suggested
which is characterized according to the invention in that the programmable memory contains an input device for its programming, by means of which information can be stored directly in the memory elements.
Data processing devices also include decryption and encryption devices.
A possible embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing. In the figure, a data processing device, for. B. an encryption or decryption device shown, but the components not necessary to explain the inventive concept are omitted.
Part 1 of the data processing device, which corresponds to device part I of Swiss patent specification 572 246, has two relays R1, R2, which are connected to the + terminal of a voltage source (not shown) and via the contacts kl, k2 of an input keyboard 2 to the terminal - can be connected to the voltage source. Furthermore, a changeover switch S is provided with which the relay contacts r1, r2 of the relays R1, R2 and an output terminal socket 3a can optionally be connected to one of the two terminals +, -. The relay contacts rl, r2 are connected to output terminal sockets 3b, 3c and are closed when the relays Rl and R2 are excited.
The terminal - of the voltage source is connected to an output terminal socket 3d via a contact i.
The device part 1 also has relays A, B, C, D, which are connected to the + terminal and to an input terminal socket 3e, 3f, 3g and 3h. These relays A, B, C, D trigger other functions in the data processing device that are not described in detail.
4 denotes a programmable memory which essentially corresponds to the memory 111 of the Swiss patent 572 246, and which can be connected to the device part 1 in an electrically and mechanically separable manner by means of the plug connection 5 shown schematically. The memory 4 has input terminal pins 6a, 6b, 6c and 6d and output terminal pins 6e, 6f, 6g and 6h which are connected to the output and input terminal sockets 3a to 3h of the device part 1 when the memory 4 is plugged into the device part 1.
To the input terminal pins 6a, 6b; 6c, two relays SPI and SP2 with the associated contacts sp, sp2 and sp21, sp22 are connected.
The contacts sp, 2 and sp22 are connected to the clamping pins 6d to 6h. The contacts sp ″ and sp22 serve as holding contacts which, in the closed state, close the circuit from a battery 7 via a switch EX, a resistor W serving as contact and battery protection, and the relay coils 5P1 and SP2.
Key contacts T1, T2, by means of which the memory 4 can be programmed without external aids, are connected in parallel with these holding contacts sp ″, sp2.
When the memory 4 is connected to the device part 1, the corresponding information is stored in the armature positions of the two relays SP and SP2 of the memory 4 by pressing the keyboard contacts k and / or k2. The information stored in the relays SP and SP2 can be accessed at each contact sps2 , sp22 can be removed and transferred to device part 1 by closing contact i in device part 1. Depending on the position of the contacts so, 2, sp22, the relays A or B or C or D are actuated, which, as mentioned, can trigger certain unspecified functions.
If the switch S is thrown, a different memory state arises in the relays 5P1 and SP2, which is then expressed in a different state of the relays A, B, C, D when queried by the contact i.
The information stored in the relays SPI, SP2 is also retained when the memory 4 is separated from the device part 1, since the battery 7 can hold the relays SP ,, SP2 in the energized state for a certain period of time until it is discharged.
If the switch EX is opened, the possibly energized relays SPI, SP2 drop out, provided that the memory 4 is not connected to the device part 1, so that the stored information disappears.
As mentioned, the memory 4 can be programmed by means of the device part 1. However, it is also possible to enter the relay SP ,, SP2 information by pressing the button contacts T ,, T2, so that the memory 4 without additional external aids, so z. B. can be programmed without the aid of the device part 1.
In the embodiment described, the memory elements SP 1, SP2 of the memory 4 and the circuit elements A, B, C, D of the device part 1 interacting with them are relays. However, it is possible to use differently constructed components for these memory elements and these circuit elements, e.g. B. semiconductor elements or mechanical or pneumatic components.
It is important, however, that the storage elements of the memory 4 and the other circuit elements of the data processing device that interact with it are made using the same technology, i. H. are constructed in the same way so that the information from the memory elements of the memory can be transmitted directly to the other circuit elements of the data processing device without the interposition of intermediate converter stages and so that the memory can be programmed directly by the data processing device without additional tools if required.
It is also conceivable to provide a secondary memory in the device part 1, to which the information can be transmitted when the memory 4 is connected. In this way, the information remains in the device part 1, even if the memory 4 is removed.
In the simplest case shown, the input device for direct programming of the memory 4 is formed by small electrical key contacts T1, T2, with which electrical circuits can optionally be closed, in which the memory elements SP1, SP2 are arranged. Micro buttons can be used as they are e.g. B. have been developed for wristwatches.
The input device can, however, also be designed in a suitable other way, although consideration must be given to the type and mode of operation of the memory elements used.
So it is e.g. B. possible to design the input device as a simple reading device for perforated or magnetic data carriers. A punched tape scanner can be implemented by means of opto-electronic components, in which a punched tape, which may have been pre-punched, can only be pushed through the scanner by hand so that the information present in the form of a hole is transferred to the memory elements of the memory.
