Fig. 8 zeigt in axialem Längsschnitt Mündung und dichtend aufgeschraubte Kappe.
The invention relates to a closure with a cap that can be screwed onto a nozzle. The closure can be used on containers e.g. also on pipelines. in particular gas pipelines may be provided. The closure is intended in particular to prevent children from the mouth of the container, the line or the like.
open with dangerous content.
The object of the invention is to create a closure which offers the necessary security against opening by children, but the production costs of which do not significantly exceed those of a normal closure.
This object is achieved according to the invention in the initially mentioned closure in that a first interrupted thread is provided on one of these parts and guide surfaces for the first interrupted thread are arranged on the other of these parts, so that a zone is provided in the area of the guide surfaces through which a first element of the first interrupted thread when screwing on the cap inevitably, when unscrewing only under exercise at least one movement other than the rotary movement can be passed through.
Because the user has to perform another movement other than the usual unscrewing movement, the necessary security against opening by children is guaranteed. The additional movement can be relatively complicated, so that it can only be carried out once you have read a corresponding printed instruction.
The invention can be applied to mouths and caps made of any material and with any surface. The screwing on of the caps is made easier because only one rotation is required for screwing on, although axial displacements can inevitably also occur.
In addition to the movement deviating from the rotary movement, the closure can be designed so that the zone has a narrowed passage point for the first threaded element such that the first threaded element can only be guided through the passage point when unscrewing a tensile force. Opening is then made even more difficult for a child because a pulling force has to be exerted.
When closing, the cap can have the first interrupted thread in the form of inwardly protruding projections and the guide surfaces can be provided on the mouth side on the connecting piece. The parts that have the guide surfaces represent much more complicated structures than the thread elements of the first interrupted thread. By arranging these more complicated parts at the mouth, they can be molded with simpler shapes when the parts are made of plastic than if they were provided on the inside of the cap.
In a further development, the closure can be characterized in that a continuous thread at the level of the edge of the part is provided on the other of the parts or guide surfaces, furthermore a second interrupted thread which can be pushed through the gaps of the first interrupted thread and at least one double-sided Guide ramp is arranged with a greater pitch than the thread, the one path of the guide ramp from the threaded element of the first interrupted thread into a
Gap of the second interrupted thread leads.
Normally, in a capping machine designed as a screwing machine, it is difficult to screw a cap with an interrupted thread onto a mouth that also has an interrupted thread, since the cap must first be brought into a suitable starting position in which the threaded elements of both interrupted threads through the gaps can pass between the threaded elements of the other. If a continuous thread is now first placed in the vicinity of the edge, e.g. the mouth, the cap can be screwed on in the normal way, the threaded elements automatically running correctly into the thread.
The guide ramp, e.g. runs steeper than the thread, then one of the thread elements of the cap leads into a gap in the second interrupted thread provided at the mouth, so that both threads are inevitably brought into the correct position in which they can pass through one another.
To further protect against opening by children, a stop can be provided on one of the parts, which makes a counter-rotation movement necessary to remove the cap following an axial pulling movement.
Embodiments of the invention are described below with reference to the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows in perspective an embodiment of a safety closure with a cap and a mouth of a container only partially shown.
2A shows the container mouth with the screwed-on cap in an axial longitudinal section.
FIG. 2B shows both in cross section along line 2B-2B in FIG. 2A, but the cap assumes the position according to FIG. 5 opposite the mouth.
Fig. 3 shows schematically a development of the mouth and the threaded elements of the cap with the cap firmly screwed on.
4 shows the same representation of the cap during the unscrewing process, one of its threaded elements approaching the zone.
Fig. 5 shows the same representation of the leading threaded element in the zone of maximum blocking effect when unscrewing the cap.
Fig. 6 shows in the same representation, with the cap further unscrewed, how the last threaded element is guided along a guide surface and thereby guides the cap upwards, so that the threaded elements of the cap come into engagement with a threaded rib arranged at the top of the mouth. At this point, the threaded elements of the cap are shown in phantom.
FIG. 7 shows, corresponding to FIG. 1, another embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 8 shows an axial longitudinal section of the mouth and the cap screwed on in a sealing manner.
FIG. 9 shows, for the embodiment according to FIG. 7, a development corresponding to FIG. 3 with the cap fully screwed on and sealing the mouth.
Fig. 10 shows the closure with the cap partially unscrewed, the leading threaded element resting against a stop which forces axial movement of the cap, whereupon the leading threaded element passes through a zone which can be provided with a locking fit so that a tensile force is required is to pass the leading threaded element through this zone.
11 shows the leading thread element after passing through the zone, the last thread element abutting a second stop which can only be circumvented by first turning the cap back and then pulling it off a little from the mouth in the axial direction.
Fig. 12 shows how the leading threaded element passes the second stop, so that the threaded elements can now come into engagement with the threaded rib of the mouth, as shown in phantom.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 6, a cap 22 is provided which can be screwed onto the mouth 24 of a container 26. The cap 22 has a cover plate 30 and a cylindrical wall 32. On the inside of the cover plate, a sealing washer 34 can be provided, which serves to seal against the edge 28 of the mouth.
Near its lower end, the cylindrical wall 32 has on its inside an interrupted thread 36, which consists of a number of threaded elements 36a to 36d distributed over the circumference. The threaded elements can be lugs or other projections.
The size and shape of the thread 36 can be compared to the in'Fig. 1 shown can be modified.
The threaded elements can have the shape according to FIG. 2B in an axial plan view.
On the outer surface of the mouth 24 there are protruding parts which interact with the interrupted thread 36 of the cap and allow the cap to be unscrewed only after it has passed a zone. A threaded rib 40 is provided near the edge 28 of the mouth.
The thread rib 40 merges into a double-sided guide ramp 41 which protrudes into the area of the zone 42 through which the lowermost thread element 36a (hereinafter also referred to as the leading thread element) must be guided. The zone is delimited by guide surfaces, namely a screw-on guide surface 44 on the rib piece 41 and a screw-on guide surface 46. The screw-on guide surface 44 guides the leading threaded element 36a downward while the I cap is being screwed on. The unscrewing guide surface 46 guides the rear end of the leading threaded element 36a upward during unscrewing. The leading threaded element 36a and the guide surfaces 44 and 46 on both sides of the zone 42 can form a locking fit which, when unscrewing, can only be overcome by exerting a tensile force, thereby creating a child safety feature.
The guiding of the cap during unscrewing and in particular through the zone 42 is further facilitated by a guide surface 48 of the guide ramp 41, along which the rear end of the lowermost (hereinafter also the last) threaded element 36d can be guided.
While the leading thread element 36a passes through the zone 42, the remaining thread elements 36b, 36c and 36d pass through gaps 50b, 50c and 50d (FIG. 3) of an interrupted thread 54.
This has threaded elements 54a to 54d, matching the threaded elements 36a to 36d of the cap. The gaps 50a to 50d can be made so narrow that the threaded elements 36a to 36d can only be moved through the gaps by exerting a tensile or pushing force. When the threaded elements 36a to 36d engage under the threaded elements 54a to 54d, the cap 22 is pulled down firmly so that the sealing washer 34 is pressed tightly against the edge 28 of the mouth.
A valve seal in the form of a downwardly projecting concentric lip on the inside of the cover plate 30 could be used instead of the disk seal with additional advantage. If the depth of the valve seal is greater than the distance by which the cap 22 must be pulled through the zone 42, the risk of accidentally pouring out or pouring out liquid is greatly reduced. This is of particular importance for a safety closure according to FIGS. 7 to 12, in which the cap has to be pulled up.
Working method
When the cap 22 is screwed on, its threaded elements 36a to 36d are first guided by the threaded rib 40 of the mouth until the leading threaded element 36a is guided downward from the screw-on guide surface 44. The cap, together with its interrupted thread 36, then slides, so to speak, one level lower, the threaded elements 36a to 36d being brought into such a position that they can pass through the gaps 50a to 50d of the second interrupted thread 54. The threaded elements 36a to 36d then engage under the threaded elements 54a to 54d and can be tightened to seal the mouth. As a result of the two interrupted threads 36 and 54 being forced into one another, it is achieved that the caps can also be screwed on by normal screwing machines.
For unscrewing, the cap is rotated from the position shown in FIG. 3 until the leading threaded element 36a comes into contact with the unscrewing guide surface 46. The threaded element 36a is guided upward into the zone 42. The parts then have the mutual positions according to FIG. 4. The leading threaded element 36a must now pass through the zone 42. For this purpose, a tensile force must be exerted on the cap, since only then the locking fit can be overcome, which has its maximum value in the position according to FIG.
When the cap is turned further, the leading threaded element 36a is freed from the zone 42. At the same time, the threaded elements 36b to 36d have their associated gaps 50b to 50d, which are provided on the mouth 24, passed through. Then the rear end (on the right in FIG. 6) of the last thread element 36d abuts against the guide surface 48 and thereby pushes the cap 22 upwards. Finally, the interrupted thread 36 comes into engagement with the thread rib 40, as shown in phantom in FIG. The cap can then be twisted off easily.
In the embodiment of the safety lock 20 'according to FIGS. 7 to 12, similar parts have the same reference numerals, but with an apostrophe.
A zone 42 'is provided between the threaded rib 40' and the interrupted thread 54 'which, as in the embodiment described above, can have a locking effect. What is essential, however, is that the cap 22 'must be moved axially with respect to the mouth 24' after initial rotation when the leading threaded element 36a 'approaches the zone 42'.
This combined movement of the cap with respect to the mouth serves to make it extremely difficult for a child to remove the cap from the mouth.
As in the previous embodiment, the parts on the cap and mouth are arranged so that conventional screwing devices can screw the cap onto the mouth.
Working method
To unscrew, the cap 22 'is rotated counterclockwise from its lowest position according to FIG. 9 until the leading threaded element 36a' comes into contact with the stop 46 ', which prevents further rotation of the cap 22' with respect to the mouth 24 '( Fig. 10). So that the leading threaded element 36a 'can pass the stop 46' and the zone 42 ', the cap 22' must be pulled a little outward (upward) in the axial direction.
As an additional precautionary measure for child safety, the zone 42 'can form a barrier between the leading threaded element 36a' and the guide surfaces 44 'and 46' adjacent to it. As FIG. 11 shows, a second stop 48 ′ prevents the cap from being unscrewed any further, in that the last threaded element 36d ′ hits this stop 48 ′.
In addition, a projection 56 can be provided at the upper end of the stop 48 ', which can be passed by counter-rotating the cap 22, accompanied by a brief axial pulling movement. Then the interrupted thread 36 'comes into engagement with the thread rib 40' (FIG. 12). The cap can now easily be unscrewed completely.
The reference symbols given in the claims should be supplemented by reference symbols with an apostrophe. However, reference characters with an apostrophe have been given when the function of the associated parts differs significantly from those with reference characters without an apostrophe.
