Additional patent to the main patent No. 410 058 Magnetic recording device In the main patent, a magnetic recording device for generating and writing information signals on a recording medium has been described, which is characterized in that a correction circuit for generating correction signals is provided, which is connected in this way that between two successive information signals of the same polarity, a correction signal with opposite polarity is generated and written on the recording medium,
so that the series of signals written on the recording medium has alternating positive and negative polarity.
The present invention relates to an improvement of the recording device mentioned and is characterized in that in the correction circuit NAND gates forward the outputs of a flip-flop receiving incoming signals 0 and 1 to a further flip-flop, so that both flip-flops always save consecutive signals to be recorded,
that two further NAND gates each respond to the outputs of the signals 0 or 1 coming from the flip-flops in the presence of timer signals that indicate a gap between the signals to be recorded, and that two OR gates each to an output of the second Flip-flops are coupled and cross-coupled with the other NAND gates.
An embodiment of the invention is explained with reference to the drawing. The figures show: FIG. 1 a pulse diagram, FIG. 2 a block diagram.
1 shows a pulse curve E with the signal sequence 110010 to be recorded on a recording medium. The binary value 1 is represented by a positive pulse, the binary value 0 by a negative pulse.
In the pulse curve F is always between two impulses of the same polarity, z. B. 10 and 12, a correction pulse, z. B. 14 inserted. This is the preferred waveform for achieving a high recording density on a recording medium.
Before going into the generation of the correction pulses, the case must first be considered how the information is recorded when no correction pulse occurs. When a 1 is to be recorded, a signal is supplied from the information source 22 to set a flip-flop circuit 24. The I output terminal of the flip-flop 24 is switched to the low state, the output signal to a NAND gate 26 being given. A signal representing form B is also applied to the NAND gate 26.
This signal, which is in the low voltage state for almost the entire signal period, enables the 1 signal to set a second flip-flop 30. There is a delay time of eight periods between the actuation of the flip-flop 24 and that of the flip-flop 30.
The output signal from flip-flop 30 is fed to a NAND gate 32. A form A gate signal is also provided to NAND gate 32.
The output signal from the NAND gate circuit 32, which is generated when two low inputs are applied to it, is given to an OR gate circuit 34, the output signal of which, a positive pulse, then the write head (not shown) to record the informa tion on a recording medium, e.g.
B. on a magnetic belt or a drum is fed.
When a 0 is recorded, a signal is generated by the 0 signal source 36 to reset the flip-flop 24 (. The 0 output; device of the flip-flop 24, which is in a low voltage state during the reset state , is applied to a NAND gate 38.
Again, the gate signal having the form B is applied to the NAND gate 38 so that the 0 signal can reset the flip-flop 30, whereby it is brought into the 0 state.
The output from flip flop 30 is fed to a NAND gate 42. Again, a gate signal A is also given to the NAND gate 42, this generating a 0 signal. The output signal from the NAND gate 42 is given to the OR gate 44, which in turn is fed to the write head (not shown) for the purpose of recording on the recording medium.
It can thus be seen that in the recording of FIG. 1, the input signal has a path from the source 22 via the flip-flop 24, the NAND gate 26, the flip-flop circuit 30, the NAND gate 32, the OR gate 34 tracked to the print head.
Similarly, the 0 signal from the source 36 is passed through the flip-flop 24, the NAND gate 38, the flip flop 30, the NAND gate circuit 42, the OR gate 44 to the write head.
A correction signal is generated when two successive information signals of the same polarity occur. If z. B. two information signals represented by the pulses 10 and 12 in curve E are to be recorded, a correction pulse 14 is also generated and recorded. A 1 from source 2 is therefore first stored in flip-flop circuit 24.
The information stored by the flip-flop 24 is passed to the second flip-flop 30 via a delay. The first 1 information bit is thus stored in the flip-flop 30 when a second 1 information bit is passed from the source 22 to the flip-flop 24.
In this state it is necessary to record an additional correction pulse that corresponds to a 0 signal.
The 1 output sides of the two flip-flops 24 and 30 lead to the NAND gate 46. The output from the NAND gate 46 is at the OR gate 44, which forwards 0 signals. The output from NAND circuit 32 leads to the input of NAND gate 46. Thus, if all three input signals to NAND gate 46 are low, an output signal is generated which causes a 0 signal to be recorded.
If a signal is followed by a second signal with a different polarity, no pulse is recorded. The reason for this is that none of the NAND gates 46 or 48 generates an output signal when the successive information signals have different characteristics.
It should be noted that in this way the recording signals of the curve F always return to a reference point since none of the recording signals have the same polarity. It is thus possible to pack them up a lot. Signals of small size can be recorded so that there is no risk of the signals from one channel overlapping with signals from an adjacent channel.
