Steam or gas turbine with a housing made of forged material and divided in a central plane. The invention relates to a steam or gas turbine made of forged material and in a central plane ge divided housing, and its purpose is to facilitate the execution of the forging work, and to make cheaper and at the same time to ensure that the material of the forged pieces is homogeneous due to its special shape.
In order to achieve these advantages, the housing according to the present invention is essentially prismatic on the outer circumference, on the inner circumference as against essentially cylindrical forms, and the same is also at each end by a plug also divided by an axial plane with at least partly cylindrical outer surface completed.
Housings of this type are particularly suitable for high pressure and high temperature steam turbines. The sealing plugs can expediently have annular projections on the outer circumference which engage in corresponding grooves in the housing; Furthermore, these plugs can be designed as labyrinth sleeves on the inner circumference, so that they seal the shaft passages. The aforementioned fastening grooves, which are usually fine, ensure a good seal and allow the housing to be forged to be produced with a minimal amount of machining.
On the accompanying drawing, an embodiment of the invention is illustrated for example ver, namely shows: Fig. 1 in the upper half an axial longitudinal section and in the lower half a side view of a high-pressure steam turbine, the housing of which is formed according to the invention, and FIG a section along the line 11-II of FIG.
1 denotes a turbine shaft, with wel cher impellers 2 form a whole. 3 be denotes guide disks which are inserted into a housing 4 at the outer end so that they cannot rotate. This housing 4, which is provided with a steam inlet channel 5 and a steam outlet channel 6, and is divided into two halves by a horizontal, axial plane, has a substantially prismatic (Fig. 2) shape on the outer circumference, while it is in the inner circumference essential union is cylindrical.
In this embodiment of the two housing halves, where the latter are to be connected by bolts 7, there is ample material available for accommodating the bolts, while the housing ratio in the vicinity of its upper and lower surfaces 11, 12 (FIG. 2) can be made moderately thin. Ge housings of the form described can be forged more easily and cheaply than the previously common form and they also offer greater guarantee that the material will be homogeneous everywhere.
At each end, the two-part housing 4 is closed by a closure plug 8 with a partially cylindrical surface area Engage housing 4. On the inner circumference, the sealing plugs 8 are designed as labyrinth sleeves so that they can seal off the shaft passages.
Due to the cooperation of the relatively fine lugs 9 of the plug 8 with the grooves of the housing 4, a good seal is ensured during operation, and it allows this type of attachment of the plug 8 to produce the housing halves to be forged with a mini paint machining allowance.
The shape of the prismatic outer order of the housing 4 can be subjected to various deviations in terms of the mutual length of the sides, the number of corners and the inclination of the inclined surfaces, without thereby affecting the essence of the invention.
