Abstract
Des méthodes sont décrites pour la production de pétrole lourd à laide de drainage par gravité au moyen de vapeur. De telles méthodes font lalternance entre une injection de vapeur traditionnelle et une injection dun mélange de vapeur et de gaz condensable (comme du CO2 ou du CO2 avec un diluant). Le mélange de CO2/diluant est soluble dans le bitume, ce qui mène à une réduction dans la viscosité du pétrole lourd. De plus, linjection de vapeur seulement réduit laccumulation de vapeur de gaz non condensable le long du bord de la chambre de vapeur, ce qui entraîne une amélioration de lefficacité thermique.
