Description
Description of the patented idea The idea is to build an outlet cash island equipped with a conveyor transparent (1) which passes on the bi-optical reader (2) surmounted by a set of mirrors (3).
All of these additions make it possible to read the barcode of a product in all directions without the operator manually orienting the product 95% of the time and from 2 to 3 times faster than manually.
The outlet box is located between the main conveyor (11) and the small island packaging (12) commonly used in the trade. The main conveyor (11) is ended with a quibble that places the products to read in the lineup before that the conveyor transparent (1) separates these products for their processing to greater speed.
The apron of the transparent conveyor (1) consists of a flexible material and transparency that allows reading the barcode of a product through the said band conveyor bearing. The upper part of the conveyor belt slides on the reader bi-optic (2) and under the rejection bar (4). Its lower part slides under all of the equipment required for the operation of the fund, that is, without being limited to:
the reader bi-optical (2), the cash counter (5), and the mechanism (6) of the reject bar (4).
The set of mirrors (3) is adjusted to read a code closed off placed in an angle that does not allow direct reading by the reader bi-optical (2).
The set of mirrors (3) is fixed at the top of the bi-optical reader (2) by a hinge (7) seated so as to allow lifting to disengage the bi-optical reader
(2). The horizontal position is maintained by the top of the bi-optical reader (2).
The rejection bar (4) is placed diagonally of the transparent conveyor (1) for divert unread products from the optical drive (2) to reject pilot (13). The product read, when it triggers the rejection bar that opens the way to the island packing (12). The rejection bar (4) is actuated by a motorized system (6) whose switch (8) is connected to the speaker wires (9) of the optical drive (2) sound signaling that the barcode was saved by the reader is no longer useful because it has no one to advise.
The reject island (13) is placed within the reach of the operator so that he can take them products and slide them on the optical drive manually.
The tablet-desk (15) serves as protection for the operations of the set of mirrors, the conveyor and the bi-optical reader. Automation and speed accelerated treatment products may injure a person. The protection consists of an island closed on the outer portion (14) and whose top is the tablet-desk (15), the whole on a built-in basis or not, to the set of conveyor, reader and mirrors.
This tablet includes the equipment (10) required for the use of a checkout output, that is, and not limited to: an electronic scale, a point of sale (POS), a printer, a keyboard and a service area available for use client. The shelf-desk (7) is above the transparent conveyor (1) on all its length.
2. History and problems of current products Supermarket checkouts have a large volume of products. A
cashier can not read more than one product at a time and, despite good speed, his ability to work is limited.
Automatic cash registers appeared. These crates take about 50%
less space, but the customer takes a lot longer to process a ordered.
A customer with an order of more than 30 or 40 items will take at least 3 to 4 times more than time to process his order. In fact, these cases are far from automatic. Whether it be reading or packaging, the user makes everything manually.
Despite the fact that more than 50% of orders from these supermarkets have less of 15 items, 50% of the many customers still represent a good number of customers per week. The automatic cash register merely replaces the waiting the cashier by a much longer treatment.
These quick checkouts do not speed up the service, they just replace by a more economical automation for the company. The little friendliness an automatic pay station will bring a new type of cashier anyway fast, this which means less waiting time and less investment from the trader.
The biggest irritant that customers deplore about their supermarket is the wait at the checkout counter. Everything else is a chore that these customers impose themselves because they want choose their products themselves.
3. Advantages of the creative dice The main advantage of the product is the great increase in the speed of order processing. The bigger the order, the faster it is treated.
The operator of the fund only has to treat large, fragile and in bulk.
The fund can also be operated by the customer who only has to deposit the products on the main conveyor so that the set of conveyors reads the products automatically. The packing location can be closed. To recover his products, the customer will have to pay.
Whether the operation is by the customer or an operator, the configuration of the checkout allows the user to stay with the user all along the operations. By not having to continually do the same repetitive movements, the user avoids the possibilities of injuries that the current crates impose on their user.
An automatic packing system can be paired with the crate. Without a Automated packaging, the speed of this type of case may provoke a clutter at the exit by the time required for manual packaging, especially by customers unaccustomed.
Faster crates require fewer crates to handle orders customers of a supermarket. The space and investment required can be used to others end or be saved.
Automation of barcode reading allows an increase considerable the reading speed of the product barcode. This type of cashier can increase considerably faster the processing of the customer order, that this either by a operator or directly by the customer. In the event that the customer operates even the box, the packing compartment (6) can be a closed place that does not open only after payment by the customer.
The tablet-desk makes it possible to place all the equipment of the cash register in front of the customer, avoiding constant rotations on the part of the operator of the checkout. If the cash register is in Automatic mode and operated by the customer, all equipment will be face to customer. Some equipment, such as the point of sale (POS) terminal can be installed on a support rotary to orient the equipment to the user.
