Distress call device.
The present invention relates to remote calling devices and is relates more particularly to a distress call device intended for of-request emergency assistance from a predetermined contact.
A distress call requires from the person requesting assistance on the one hand, a certain self-control to use a means of belonging pel, for example by dialing a phone number and secondly, by dis-ask within easy reach of such a ground of appeal.
Although the mobile phone provides part of the solution to the pro-aforementioned problem, it constitutes a relatively costly ground of appeal.
On the other hand, the coolness of a person in need of help is neither controllable nor quantifiable, so the only way to that such a person in difficulty manages to ask for help, is to make call for that person's reflex reaction.
The invention therefore aims to create a remote calling device which by being of a low cost price, either easy to use by one, e person in diffi-cooked.
It therefore relates to a distress call device comprising a transceiver associated with an antenna and means for composing a telephone number for establishing a line of communication with a and a power source for the transceiver and composition means, characterized in that the composition means take a ROM in which is stored the call number of a single correspondent as well as an on / off switch for the power source mentation of the device whose actuation causes at the same time as the supply mentation of the device, the emission by it of call signals from the sole corre-laying.
The invention will be better understood on reading the description which will follow, given only as an example and made with reference to drawings annexed, on which - Fig.1 is a block diagram of a distress call device according to the invention; and - Fig.2 is a diagram of a device programming device Fig. 1.
In Figure 1, there is shown a distress call device which includes a memory 1 of the EPROM or PAL type, for storing a number call of the interlocutor or correspondent having to intervene to carry assis-tance to the owner of the calling device.
Memory 1 is connected to a circuit 2 for shaping the signals to be transmitted which in turn is connected to a supply circuit 3 through through a reset circuit 5.
The reset circuit 5 is actuated by a start button 6.
stop which simultaneously controls the start and stop of the circuit of orientation 3.
A lamp 7 connected to the supply circuit 3 ensures the test of the supply circuit battery.
The shaping circuit is also associated with a microphone 8 and a loudspeaker 9, while the EPROM memory 1 is associated with a display screen chage 12 intended to indicate the number of the called party.
Signal shaping circuit 2 is connected by a circuit 14 coding and decoding of information connected in turn to a transmitter receiver 15 having an antenna 16.
A cord 17 is provided for connecting the memory 1 to a device for pro-grammation which will be described with reference to Figure 2.
The operation of the distress call device is as follows.
Commissioning is ensured by pressing button 6 on the che-stop.
This commissioning causes (powering of circuit 2 forms signals, which immediately transfers to the transceiver 15 by via the coding-decoding circuit 14, the signal stored in the met EPROM 1 memory and thus establishes communication with the contact selected in advance when acquiring the device and making it available of the user-sateur.
Of course, communication is established on one national and international networks available by telephone portable.
The electronic circuit of the device is advantageously produced under the shape of an electrorüque chip of the same type as that of a portable telephone ble without the need to assign a number and simplified to the extreme and equipped
3 a programmable memory circuit of the EPROM or PAL type via from which the unique number likely to be contacted is entered.
This programmable circuit is designed either as permanently frozen or as reprogrammable depending on the use of the device.
In Figure 2, there is shown an embodiment of the device in its reprogrammable form associated with a programming device.
It comprises a box 20 containing all the elements of the circuit of Figure 1 and connected by a removable connecting cord 21 to a program-mateur 22.
The programmer is a fixed device located at the distributors of the device to the general public.
Programming is ensured by a keyboard 24 provided with nu-merics 25, a validation key 26, a correction key 27, by deletion of the last value entered and of a power-on key 28.
It finally comprises a screen 29 for displaying the number programmed at store in memory 1 of the call device (Fig1).
The housing of the device can take several aspects.
It can for example be in the form of a simple button maneuver when the device is inserted in the dashboard of a vehicle automotive, or when the device is included in a watch or a pendant for a patient, in the form of a contact dedicated to the function call.
Advantageously, the trigger button of the device must be sheltered from the random shocks of working life. One such technique is neck-widely used in watches in which access to settings is protected.
One can for example provide for the operating button an action-nernent timed with a delay of the order of one second, which allows .
puts to eliminate the reaction of the device to most of the shocks currents.
The device is supplied with electrical energy by a autonomous or rechargeable battery.
The consumption at rest determines the lifespan of the food.
tion. The single contactor associated with the unidirectional character of the initiative of the share of the device holder does not require the assignment of a number stand-dart in the sense that it is understood in the field of tele = i ~ mobile honie.
4 A simple elementary identifier will bill the call and possibly the identification of the caller without it being able to hide information.
The individual distress alarm only works on the initiative of the device.
Once the power supply is ensured by switch 6, the sequence call number programmed in advance is diverted automatically by transmission of the number stored in memory 1 by the coding / de-coding 14, the transceiver 15 and the antenna 16.
The number in question is that of a correspondent who originally accepted that his number is the final recipient and that the communication is billed to his account.
The recipient agrees to bear the costs of the use of his line.
The cost of communication is immaterial insofar as the user tion of the calling device should logically intervene only in circumstances emergency requiring only a limited connection time.
Insofar as the device is powered only at the time of its use, a small size battery is more than enough for small mo-galls.
The display of the programmed number on screen 12 allows identification cation of the recipient of the call caused by the commissioning of the device and consequently, an indirect identification of the wearer of the device in the event that he is unable to identify himself, by example the fact that he has just been the victim of an accident on the public highway.
Applications of the distress call device according to the invention are very numerous and can include applications for life family, medical applications. This device can also be useful in the police, the gendârmerie, by the firemen and the garage owners.
