Abstract

The medical identity card is an 85 mm by 54 mm plastic card which carries a photograph of the owner, information concerning his identity, high priority and unchanging medical data (for example blood group). The cord has an attached microfiche containing a detailed medical history which can be updated as changes are made, the history being in several languages; and a coded number to provide security against unauthorised alteration of the data.

Description

* une photographie du porteur

* des renseignements relatifs à son identité

* des renseignements médicaux de première urgence et'à caractère immuable (groupe sanguin, facteur rhésus...)

* une microfiche (ou tout autre matériel suceptible de four-

 <EMI ID=1.1>

International Medical Identity Card

International Medical Identity Card:
- the invention relates to a card, 85 mm x 54 mm format, credit card type (plastic or any other equivalent semi-rigid or rigid material) comprising:

* a photograph of the wearer

* information relating to his identity

* first aid and immutable medical information (blood group, rhesus factor ...)

* a microfiche (or any other material likely to provide

 <EMI ID = 1.1>

Ex: chip, magnetic strip ...) on which is written

a detailed description of the wearer's condition / health, in several languages: French, English ,. Spanish.

* an identification number (reported / on the microfiche to avoid the risk of manipulation.

- Currently, in the case of care given by non-usual medical personnel, or in the case of travel outside the usual geographical limits:

* some people on treatment have the obligation to move with an impractical medical file because it contains a lot of various documents which have the disadvantage of being in one language and, moreover, which is not permanently held by the interested party due to congestion. * certain other people may, on the occasion of a fortuitous event, be called to receive emergency medical care; in this case, any saving of time in the search for medical information can be decisive.

These situations are all the more frequent as journeys and displacements are easier and generalized from where an multiplication of the risks.

The object of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks insofar as, in a reduced form, practical

and usual, the holder of the International Medical Identity Card has permanent vital medical information, which allows either to continue a treatment started, without risk of error, or, in the event of an accident, to immediately give to the medical staff intervening the necessary basic information (allergies, drugs used, surgical procedures, vaccines, fractures ...).

The present invention therefore aims to give people greater security in everyday life.

the advantages of this invention are:

* the compactness of the card which is more secure for the holder: <EMI ID = 2.1> nence. ' his card in the same way as other similar cards and of the same format, credit card type). . while traveling, in the case of contact with unaccustomed medical staff (most of the medical records are known). due to the use of several languages.

* the presence on the card of a microfiche which contains all
