Abstract
The invention relates to a locating and signalling system within a cellular mobile radiotelephone network, especially the global system for mobile communication (GSM). A connection is established from a mobile terminal to a base station and, in addition, transfers to adjacent base stations are forced. The co-ordinates of a surface area for the probable location of the mobile terminal are detected on the basis of the geographic co-ordinates of the base stations and the parameters for a timely shift (timing advance (TA)) of the transmission from the mobile terminal to the base station, whereby said parameters are transmitted to the mobile terminal. Receive parameters of the adjacent base stations are successively and specifically altered for forcing the transfer to adjacent base stations.
