Abstract

The invention relates to a guessing competition and is based on the number of spectators attending a sporting match and/or sporting competition. To enter the competition, each person must purchase a ticket from the competition operator. The money collected from ticket sales is pooled, and the person who makes a guess closest to the official attendance number receives a portion of the pooled money.

Description

This Patent Relates to a Guessing Competition, but unlike other legalized Guessing
Competitions pays particular reference to the specific Event Itself in the form Crowd
Estimation and the different means of Participating.-Unlike other Guessing
Competitions where people pay a personally chosen random fee and are rewarded
through a Multiplier Configuration such as legalised betting where the Odds
determine the amount rendered by the winning participant and then are calculated to
determine the winning bets worth, This Competition relies solely on Guessing the
number in attendance at a specific Event to determine the winning bets worth. This
Patent also takes into account that there are different means of participating and
recognises Five (5) Specific methods as defined in the Assembly Calculator hereafter
and attached as Appendix 1. To better clarify the Five (5) Specific methods of
participating in this Guessing Competition, particular reference is taken to the
following paragraphs and defined hereafter as Registry Modules.
Module 1.a) b) Prepaid Ticket Registrar.
Module 2. Assembly Point/Area.
Module 3.a) b) Entry Point.
Module 4.a) Attendance Register 01.
Module 5.a) Attendance Register 02.
Module 6. Pool Enhancement 01.
Module 7. Pool Enhancement 02.
Module 8.a) b) Official Attendance Number.
Module 9. Money Pool.
Module 10. a) b) c) Prize
Module 11. Innovation Profit Point
2
Appendix 1, Will therefore be described in paragraphs:
1. a) b) 2. 3. a) b) 4. a) 5. a) 6. 7. 8. a) b) 9. 10 a) b) c) 11.
1. Prepaid Ticket Registrar. A sales register or prepaid console is a place in
this instance where a person or persons may present him or herself, phone, or e
mail to pre-book tickets in advance for an upcoming event, and at that stage may
or may not choose to participate and pay an extra or added fee for that privilege as
described hereafter by 1(a), 1(b).
a) A person or persons may choose to purchase a prepaid ticket or tickets
through a cash or credit transaction in order to secure a single, or multiple
positions and may also choose not to participate in the Crowd Estimation
Guessing Competition that this innovation relates to upon registering
through this method, thus not supporting this method.
b) A person or persons may choose to purchase a prepaid ticket or tickets
through a cash or credit transaction in order to secure a single, or multiple
positions and may also choose to participate in the Crowd Estimation
Guessing Competition that this innovation relates to upon registering
through this method, thus paying an additional fee and supporting this
method.
2. Assembly Point/Area. The Assembly point/area in this case will be referred
to as an area outside the event where people gather to form a crowd in-order to
enter through an Entry Point or Registry Console/Caracole.
3. Entry Point. As is with most Games, Functions or Events a patron to a
specific Game, Functions or Event will need to pass through an Entry Point to be
recognized as a contributing patron by the governing or controlling body or
statutory regulator. The Entry Point may also be a place to register for a Crowd
Estimation Guessing Competition or simply purchase tickets without registering
for the Crowd Estimation Guessing Competition on the day or night that the
specific event is to take place.
a. A person or persons may choose to purchase a ticket or tickets through
a cash or credit transaction in order to secure a single, or multiple positions
and may also choose not to participate in the Crowd Estimation Guessing
Competition that this innovation relates to upon registering through this
method, thus not supporting this method.
b. A person or persons may choose to purchase a ticket or tickets through
a cash or credit transaction in order to secure a single, or multiple positions
and may also choose to participate in the Crowd Estimation Guessing
Competition that this innovation relates to upon registering through this
method, thus paying an additional fee and supporting this method.
4. Attendance Register 01. This register although separate to section 5 of the
(Attendance Register 02) of the Assembly Calculator will Correlate with section 5
of the Attendance Register 02 to give a correct estimation of the Crowd in
attendance at a specific Game, Function or Event as defined by the following.
a. This section represents the number of people that have passed through
an Entry Point but have chosen not to participate in the Crowd Estimation
Competition and although they have not contributed financially to the
prize or pool as defined in section 9, These patrons will have to be taken
into account as Official Patrons Attending that Game Function or Event.
5. Attendance Register 02. This register although separate to section 4 of the
(Attendance Register 01) of the Assembly Calculator will Correlate with section 4
of the Attendance Register 01 to give a correct estimation of the Crowd in
attendance at a specific Game, Function or Event as defined by the following.
a. This section represents the number of people that have passed through
an Entry Point and have chosen to participate in the Crowd Estimation
Competition and contributed financially to the prize or Money Pool as
defined in section 9, These patrons also have to be taken into account as
Official Patrons Attending that Game Function or Event.
6. Pool Enhancement 01. This section may be better understood by using the
following Hypothetical Equation as a guide in defining different Scenario's
encompassed within this section (6) of this patent application, taking into account
that a person participating in this Guessing Competition will pay an added fee,
In this instance ("Hypothetical Equation") $5 will be the allocated fee for all
Participants. It will also be assumed that 470 people are entered into this Guessing
Competition through any of the five different means herein stated as1.b) 3.b)
5.a) 6. or 7 and 655 Attendance are not, although 204 of the 470 entrants are in
Attendance, 655 +204= 859. (44 + 102 + 58 = 204 entrants Attending).
This means that only 470 of the 1125 people directly involved are registered
through at least one of the five different means of participating.
(1) Pre-paid Ticket Register 44 A $5 = $ 220.00+
(2) Assembly Point/Area= 859 Patrons Gathered Outside To Attend. (3) Entry Point/s 102 A $5 = $ 510.00+
(4) Attendance Register 01= Patrons Attending that did not participate in Crowd
Estimation Competition = 655 (5) Attendance Register 02, 58 A $5 = $ 290.00+
(6) Pool Enhancement 01 200 @ $5 = $1000.00+
(7) Pool Enhancement 02 66(@$5 $ 330.00+
(8) Official Attendance Number = 859 (9) Money Pool= $2350.00 less taxes @ 33% = $1574.50
(10) Prize. The prize is to be divided between the winner/s = $ 314.90
(11) Innovation Profit Point = $1259.60
Although it has been taken into account that there are five different ways of
Participating in this Guessing Competition, It shall only recognise registration
Facilities Affiliated to this Innovation and therefore be apart of the Innovation
Profit Point as Affiliated Members.
Particular reference will be paid to section six (6) within the above Hypothetical
Guide, This means that a person sitting at Home or a Club that may want to
participate in the Crowd Estimation of Attendance at a specific Game Function or
Event may enter his or her Crowd Estimation via the Internet or an Approved
Register to Compete, therefore sharing an equal opportunity at winning the
assigned Reward determined by the number of participants calculated by the fee
charged to the participate and that Reward shall be a percentage of the Money
Pool generated as defined in section 9 of the Assembly Calculator.
7. Pool Enhancement 02. A person sitting at Home, or another Event that may
want to participate in the Crowd Estimation of Attendance at a specified Game
Function or Event may enter his or her Crowd Estimation via a Mobile Phone
SMS to Register or Compete, therefore sharing an equal opportunity at winning
the assigned Reward determined by the number of participants calculated by the
fee charged to the participate and that Reward shall be a percentage of the Money
Pool generated as defined in section 9 of the Assembly Calculator.
8. Official Attendance Number. The Official Attendance Number at a Specific
Game Function or Event relates to Registered Attending Patrons that have passed
through an Entry Point as defined in paragraphs 3. a) b) before the Official Start
of that Specific Game Function or Event.
Taking into account that there are Five (5) different methods of participating
in this Crowd Estimation Guessing Competition, There can only be one
method of Entering a Game, Function or Event using the Method that this
Patent relates to.
a) A Patron Attending a Game, Function or Event Must Enter through an
Approved Entry Point and Register his or her Attendance.
b) A Patron Attending a Game, Function or Event that enters through an
Approved Entry Point or Register that wants to participate in this Guessing
Competition must do so before the Official Start Time, or Register through
other means such as described in paragraphs, 1.b) 3.b) 5.a) 6. or 7.
9. Money Pool. To better understand the Money Pool, it should first be clearly
understood that participants wishing to subscribe in order to contest within this
competition should be registered by using one of the five methods of
participating as set out in paragraphs, 1.b) 3.b) 5.a) 6. or 7.
All moneys generated by the sale of tickets supporting this method as defined
in paragraphs, 1.b) 3.b) 5.a) 6. or 7. have been pooled at this stage and as is
with the five Registry Modules will cease to except further financial gain once
the Game, Function or Events has Officially Started.
The money Pool is also a place where the Gross of the Pool is dissected and
distributed between the Taxation Office, the Share Holder/s of this patented
Concept and the Winning Participant/s as directed by the individual States
Gaming Regulator.
10. Prize. This section of the Assembly Calculator relates to the winning
participant or participants. To better describe the winning participant or
participants, the following should be considered.
a. The person/s that have passed through a registry point, or contributed
through a registry point to the money pool as defined in section Nine (9)
with the correct guess, or the closest guess to the official number in
attendance will be declared the winner/s of that specific attendance
guessing competition.
b. While there may be more than one (1) winner in this competition, it
should be understood that multiple winners registered through any of the
previously stated means of participating will share in the prise and that
prise will be apart of the money pool in accordance with the individual
States Gaming Regulator.
c. The winner or winners should be credited an equal share of the prise.
11. Innovation Profit Point. This section of the Patent relates to the financial
gain that this patent relies on.
This section also takes into consideration that all deductions have been deducted
leaving only a net Profit. (Refer to Section 9, "Money Pool").
Points of Claim
1) A systematic way for the sale and registration of an entry in a crowd number guessing competition via remote electronic terminals linked to a main or central terminal that stores and calculates data collected to determine a common conclusion of the official crowd size before the official start of a game, race or match where a single or multiple winners may be determined based on the closest guess to the official crowd size and an aggregate money pool is dissected using the individual state and or federal governing protocols to comply with the relevant criteria requested by that or each individual state or federal governing body.
2) Through remote terminals and at a fee participants shall have access to purchase and register an estimation (guess) of attendance where people congregate to form a crowd. Reference is given to the systematic way of registration described in claim 1) stated herein. Using this system a person may access a terminal to purchase a ticket and choose to pay an added fee to have that ticket endorsed with a personal crowd estimation through that terminal or operator prior to participating. This system includes a database where participants that are in attendance and registered through endorsement upon entry as well as those that are registered but not in attendance, and the official number of attendance are collected and the aggregate correlated to reach a common conclusion of:
a) Registered participants in attendance. b) Registered participants not in attendance. c) Registered attendance plus non-registered attendance attending game, race or match to form Official attendance number.
3) Using this system and based on the aggregate money pool being dissected as stated in paragraph 1) of Points of Claim, All participants that are registered whether being in attendance or electronically registered and not in attendance will be calculated by the amount paid upon registering and the number of people registered to determine the money pools net value: a) All monies that have been transferred through electronic registration facilities or terminals to participate in this crowd estimation or guessing competition have been combined or pooled to form the total gross money pool. b) The net value of the money pool shall be determined by the tax and relevant deductions deducted in accordance with state and federal governing bodies. c) The money pool shall determine by its net worth and each individual states gaming regulator the value of the prize presented to the registered person or persons with the correct or closest to the correct guess of the number of people in attendance at a specified game, race or match. d) In the event of multiple winners, that prize shall be equally shared. e) That prize and winning estimation shall also be advertised.
4) The official number in attendance shall be disclosed during or soon after the related game, race or match as defined in paragraph 1) and the registered winning number shall also be advertised via an electric monitor or electronic transmition, although:
a) It shall be up to the individual to claim his or her prize if in attendance by presenting the winning ticket back to a terminal or endorsed official for collection. b) Participants with winning tickets relating to this specific innovation shall present proof of registration for validation to a terminal or place of purchase in order to collect the allotted prize. c) If no prize has been collected after a period not less than 21 days from the date of a specific game, race or match that prize may be donated to a charity or non-profit organization and the ticket holder/s winning ticket may then become invalid.
Sincerely, Mr. Jack Boyd.
