DESCRIPTION
TITLE OF INVENTION [0001] A WEB APPLICATION THAT USERS CAN CREATE AND GENERATE THEIR OWN LEGAL DOCUMENTS E.G. WILLS, ENDURING POWER OF ATTORNEYS ETC. WITHOUT THE NEED OF A LEGAL PROFESSIONAL E.G. LAWYER, SOLICITOR ETC. THE SYSTEM GENERATES AN ENCRYPTION KEY AND INCORPORATES THE DATA ON A DIGITAL DISTRIBUTED LEDGER VIA PEER TO PEER NETWORK (NODES) THAT ALLOWS VERIFICATION OF AUTHENTICITY OF THE LEGAL DOCUMENTS THROUGH THE USE OF ENCRYPTION TECHNOLOGY.
TECHNICAL FIELD [0002] LEGAL SERVICES
SUMMARY OF INVENTION [0003] Technology and specifically the use of distributed ledgers has disrupted many professions.
[0004] Existing legal models and software are designed and focused on professionals e.g. Solicitors, Accountants etc. creating and generating legal documents through templates or wizards for the client.
[0005] Traditional legal models and software work on the premise of the client engaging a professional to address a specific requirement e.g. Will, Enduring Power of Attorney, Contract etc. which is drafted and often left to the client to execute, store and maintain validity.
[0006] The solution is to create a web application for clients to create, generate, and execute their own legal documents and once created an encryption key is generated and distributed to a peer to peer network of nodes that stores the encryption key that allows the verification of the authenticity of legal documents.

  1. [0010] Reference will now be made to the accompanied drawing, which are not drawn to scale. Where Figure 3 shows the process in which the web application will maintain and update legal document. The user logs into the web application and inputs the encryption key for the chosen document. The network of nodes then validates if the encryption key is valid and if valid will unencrypt the legal document. User is then able to update the legal document. The updated legal document will then be re-encrypted with a new key and the encrypted data will be broadcast to the P2P network of nodes to maintain the authenticity / validity of the updated legal document. The updated encryption key and legal document is displayed to the user to execute.
