Description

Description
Background Art or Background [0001] The Scooteroo is an innovation addessing a trend towards new ways of transporting a pram rather than walking, it addresses the repetitive experiences of young children and careers during their daily activities. It creates a more enjoyable and exciting solution to personalised, short distance, transportation for careers and their young children. The Scooteroo innovation is an alternative mode of transportation, its an easy, novel and exciting product that promotes exercise and bonding alike.
Summary of Innovation [0002] Walking a pram is a repetitive, mundane task that is often completed due to necessity rather the enjoyment. The Scooteroo makes it an exciting new way of transporting a parent and child over short distances.
[0003] It does this through the use of a platform that follows the rear of the pram allowing the user to ride behind their child, the platform is supported by two fixed front wheels and a single loose rear wheel.
[0004] These parts are then connected to the pram’s rear axle in a unique way that allows the unit to be stowed as well as encourage steering and propulsion through a pushing motion conducted by the adult.
[0004] By encouraging new parents to engage in leisurely outdoor activities the Scooter project address various challenges faced by new parents. In addition to this the motion and time spent outside helps form lifetime child-parent bonds.

Claims (9)

  1. Claims
    1. A platform that attaches to the rear of a pram allowing the user to propel said platform and subsequent pram. This device is intended to be used by a parent wanting to transport themselves and their child over short distances. By propelling themselves along, this device allows the pram to travel faster with ease. The platform is connected via an arm to the pram; consisting of a variety of metal and plastic parts. The arm joins the rear axle of pram via the pram detachable pin.
  2. 2. Said platform consist of an asymmetrical shape that allows three wheels to be connected. In addition to this, the shape allows space for the extending arm to fold upwards. This platform also has substrate material underlays, such as fibreglass and a clear grip tape layer on top.
  3. 3. Supporting said platform are two fixed wheels at the front of the platform and a single loose wheel underneath the rear of the platform. This loose wheel allows the device to follow the pram in a smooth way.
  4. 4. Said front wheels are covered by two unique pieces that extrude from the platform.
These covers follow the outline of the wheel and protect the users feet or apparel becoming caught in the spinning wheel.
  5. 5. Said platform is connected to the front two wheels via the axle. This axle houses parts that allow the platform to lock into both flat and upright positions.
  6. 6. Said arm allows the user to choose between these positions. The arm houses a handle that is connected to a pin which locks into place on the axle.
  7. 7. The arm is extended by a tube that has two bends allowing it to reach upwards to meet the prams axle. This tube houses two solid ends, one of which connects to the

  8. 8. The pram pin is a long metal piece that houses two cylindrical holes connecting the tube to the pram.
  9. 9. Said pram pin is connected to the arm via a cylindrical pin that is easily detachable.
This locking pin allows for marginal horizontal movement. This pin is attached to the prams rear axle and allows for rotational movement in a vertical manor.
