A template is placed between keys and caries (key cover) or, for EPianos or keyboards, between keys and the housing (photo 1).

On this template, which uses the structural feature of the same distances in the rear key area of keyboard instruments, there are optical orientation aids, in the intervals of a Jonian scale, which also means that all other church keys can also be read. The template can be positioned on any tone and thus shows all scales and chords in every key. Since it is not just a slide rule, the results of which would first have to be transferred to the keyboard, but there is direct visibility on the instrument, this also enables beginners to improvise or play chords immediately.

The graphic design also shows the chords (see graphic 1d) of the respective scale, as well as the appropriate melody tones and their character. The individual symbols have different colors in order to facilitate orientation on the one hand and to be able to assign the different characters to the tones on the other. The basic tone is green, the none light blue, etc., although the colors could be different.

The back has black bars that symbolize the black keys on the piano and coincide exactly with them. In this case you are in C major and can make your first experiences with chords. The back is not meant to be moved. On the front there is the same information regarding the chords and their intervals, but this time without black bars and is therefore intended to be shifted to all keys.

For the keyboard there is a smaller version, on the one hand fewer octaves because the keyboard does not have the full range of a piano, and on the other hand the symbols are adapted to the slightly smaller key distances.

A series of numbers (see graphic Te), which is slidably mounted on a transparent bar on the front of the piano bar, enables the tones to be read and assigned to the respective interval numbers (third - third; b3 - minor third; b9 - reduced none; ... ). This is of great value for further deepening and learning chords as well as melodies.

The template can be moved (manually, mechanically, electrically, ...) and thus shows all keys. This means that even beginners can immediately play in all keys and, on the other hand, they can also be used for modulation.
