Quick coupling for flanged and socket pipes.
The present invention relates to such quick-release couplings, in which clamping members separate from the pipes hold the pipe flanges against one another by means of driven-in wedges and consists in this. that the clamping elements are parallel with the pipe flanges or the like placed against them from the side and the wedges, which, like the clamping elements, can be bow-shaped, are driven between the legs of the clamping elements and the flanges of the tubes. This gives you a simple one. easy to use and safe coupling.
The coupling elements (clamps or wedges) are provided with noses that are perpendicular to the pipe flanges in order to prevent the clamping elements from sliding off when the wedges are hammered in.
The invention is shown in the drawing in some exemplary embodiments.
Fig. 1 shows the simplest embodiment with a one-piece clamping bracket in elevation, Fig. 2 shows the same connection in plan, Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the clamping bracket and Fig. 4 is a view of the wedge belonging to this connection. Fig. 5 shows a second embodiment in elevation, in which the clamping member has the shape of a looped closed band and in which the connection is made with two wedges, Fig. 6 shows the same connection in plan, Fig. 7 shows the looped band and 8 and 9 the two associated wedges in a diagram. In FIG. 10, a third embodiment is shown in elevation, in which the clamping element is broken up into two parts, FIG. 11 shows the same connection in plan and FIG. 12 shows one of the two identical parts of the clamping element in a diagram.
The wedges associated with this connection have the same shape as in FIGS. 8 and 9.
In these figures, a and b designate the two pipes to be connected to one another, the ends of which have the flange-like protruding parts or other projections c and d. The differently designed clamping member belonging to the individual embodiments is denoted by el in FIG. 1, ez in FIG. 5 and pg and es ′ in FIG. 10. The associated connecting wedges are marked with or /, // or. designated.
The connection according to Figure 1 is made in such a way that the bow-shaped coupling element e wraps with its lower part around the flange-like projection of the lower tube b, whereupon the flange-like end c of the tube a is applied to d; The wedge i is then driven into the free space created between c and the upper part of the clamping element el, thus causing the pipe ends c and d to be firmly attached. The connection is released by driving out the wedge / and stripping off the clamping bracket ssi. So that the element el cannot evade when the wedge tel is driven in, it has two noses gl and g '/ on its lower part. with which it is based on part d.
In the coupling according to FIG. 5, the coupling element (clamping element) shown in FIG. 7 is first pushed over the end c of the tube a, then rotated by 90 and brought into the position shown in FIG. 5, whereupon the second tube /) with the end d is attached to e. Then the wedge becomes f2 '. which has the lugs g2 and g2 'for the purpose of fixing the coupling element e2, placed in the projecting lower part of the coupling element in the manner shown. whereupon it is finally effected by driving in the wedge / firmly pulling in the two pipes.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 10, the two pipe ends c and d are first brought into contact with one another and then the two parts es and es'so are placed over the flanges. that they are supported with their upper part on the flange c of the tube a. The fixed connection is then carried out as in the embodiment according to FIG.
