The application also describes a method for increasing the viscosity of a fluid, the method comprises: providing a fluid comprising a thickening amount of a crosslinked polymer; add a viscoelastic surfactant in a given concentration to the fluid; take the fluid at a given temperature; define a fluid viscosity profile depending on the concentration and temperature; compare the viscosity profile with a viscosity profile of the crosslinked polymer fluid alone; and define an optimal concentration of viscoelastic surfactant for each temperature.
