Alternatively, the sectorized antenna arrangement includes an array of antennas having a plurality of switchable antenna elements, each connected to one of the communication transceivers. In another variant, each of the antennas within a primary ordered array is arranged so as to project a beam onto a single sector, while each of the elements within a redundant ordered array is designed to encompass a pair adjacent desectors. The method of providing redundant coverage includes the steps of projecting beams onto the sectors using a plurality of antennas, connecting the latter to selected transceivers, and supplying the contained beam to an operational transceiver.
