Abstract

1. A bow mill with vertical axis, the bowl rotating relative to means (4) pressing the material against the surface of the bowl (1) and being controlled by hydraulic cylinders (9), with a control and adjusting circuit depending on the material to be ground, comprising a means (20) for indicating the rate at which materials is being fed into the mill and a means (24) for indicating the pressure of the hydraulic fluid in the cylinders, characterized in that it further comprises a means (22) for indicating the power absorbed by the mill, a means (21) for indicating the height of the layer of material between the pressing means and the bowl, and (19, 17) for sensing the data of the indicating means in order to maintain a variation of the height of the layer of material according to the throughput rate of the mill according to a predetermined linear law between 30 % and 100 % of the maximum throughput rate.
