Description
본 개시는 지문 모드에서 지문 정보를 획득하는 전자 장치 및 그 지문 정보 획득 방법에 관한 것이다.
전자 장치는 디스플레이에 터치된 사용자의 손가락으로부터 지문을 획득하고, 지문을 이용하여 다양한 기능을 수행할 수 있다.
예를 들어, 전자 장치는 지문을 이용하여, 화면 잠금 기능/화면 잠금 해제, 어플리케이션에서 로그인, 결제 등와 같은 다양한 기능을 수행할 수 있다.

디스플레이(130)는 프로세서(310)에 의해 제어되어, 사용자에게 시각적 정보(visualized information)를 출력할 수 있다. 시각적 정보는 디스플레이(130)의 화면 상에 표시되는 시각적 객체를 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 시각적 객체는 인디케이터(indicator), 이미지, 아이콘, UI 엘리먼트, 메뉴 항목 등을 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 디스플레이(130)는 FPD(flat panel display), 커브드(curved) 디스플레이, 폴딩(folding) 또는/및 롤링(rolling) 가능한 플렉서블 디스플레이 등으로 구현될 수 있다.
일 예에 따르면, 디스플레이(130)는 자발광 소자를 포함하는 디스플레이로 구현될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 디스플레이(130)는 OLED(Organic Light Emitting Diodes) 디스플레이, LED(Light Emitting Diodes), 마이크로 LED(micro LED), Mini LED 등과 같은 다양한 형태의 디스플레이로 구현될 수 있다.
디스플레이(130)는 터치를 감지하도록 구성된 터치 회로(131)를 포함할 수 있다. 터치 회로(131)는 디스플레이(130)에 대한 사용자 입력을 획득할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 터치 회로(131)는 디스플레이(130)의 특정 위치에 대한 신호(예: 전압, 광량, 저항 또는 전하량)의 변화를 측정함으로써 상기 특정 위치 상의 입력(예: 터치 입력 또는 호버링 입력)을 감지하고, 감지된 입력에 관한 정보를 프로세서(110)에 제공할 수 있다. 프로세서(110)는 터치 회로(131)를 이용하여 디스플레이(130)에 대한 터치 입력 및 터치 입력의 종료에 대한 정보를 식별할 수 있다. 터치 입력이 종료된 것은 사용자가 디스플레이(130)를 터치한 손을 뗀 것을 포함할 수 있다.
통신 회로(150)는 전자 장치(1000) 및 외부 전자 장치(예: 서버 장치, 다른 전자 장치 등) 사이의 전기 신호의 송신 및/또는 수신을 지원하기 위한 하드웨어 부품을 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 통신 회로(150)는 모뎀(MODEM), 안테나, O/E(optic/electronic) 변환기 중 적어도 하나를 포함할 수 있다. 통신 회로(150)는 이더넷(ethernet), LAN(local area network), WAN(wide area network), WiFi(wireless fidelity), Bluetooth, BLE(bluetooth low energy), ZigBee, LTE(long term evolution), 5G NR(new radio) 및/또는 6G와 같은 다양한 타입의 프로토콜에 기반하여 전기 신호의 송신 및/또는 수신을 지원할 수 있다
센서(160)는 전자 장치(100)와 관련된 비-전기적 정보(non-electronic information)로부터, 프로세서(110) 및/또는 메모리(120)에 의해 처리될 수 있는 전기적 정보를 생성할 수 있다. 정보는 센서 데이터로 지칭될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 센서(160)는 전자 장치(100)의 작동 상태 또는 외부의 환경 상태를 감지하고, 감지된 상태에 대응하는 전기적 정보를 생성할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 센서(160)는 관성(inertial measurement unit; IMU) 센서, GPS(global positioning system) 센서, 온도 센서, 조도 센서 및/또는 ToF(time-of-flight) 센서를 포함할 수 있다.
센서(160)는 지문 센서(161)를 포함할 수 있다. 지문 센서(161)는 프로세서(110)의 제어에 의해, 지문 정보를 획득하고 획득된 지문 정보를 프로세서(110)에 제공할 수 있다.
지문 센서(161)는 디스플레이(130)의 표시 영역 아래에 배치될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 지문 센서(161)는 디스플레이(130)의 표시 영역 중에서 특정 영역(이하 지문 인식 영역으로 참조) 아래에 배치될 수 있다. 표시 영역은 시각적 정보가 표시되는 화면을 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 지문 센서(161)는 디스플레이(130)의 디스플레이 패널의 백 플레인에 배치될 수 있다.
지문 센서(161)는 광학 방식(optical type)의 지문 센서일 수 있다. 지문 센서(161)는 광학 방식을 이용하여 지문 이미지를 획득하도록 구성될 수 있다. 지문 센서(161)는 디스플레이(130)로부터 출력(또는 방출)되는 광을 이용하여 사용자의 지문을 감지할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 지문 인식 영역에 대응하는 픽셀들로부터 출력되는 광은 지문 인식 영역을 터치한 손가락에 의해 반사될 수 있다. 지문 센서(161)는 손가락의 지문의 융선(ridge)과 융선 사이의 골(valley)에 의해 반사된 광을 이미지 센서를 통해 센싱함으로써 지문 정보를 획득할 수 있다. 지문 정보는 지문 이미지를 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 이미지 센서는 광전 변환 소자(예: 포토 다이오드, 포토트랜지스터, 포토 게이트 등), CIS(CMOS Image Sensor) 또는 CCD(Charge Coupled Device) 등으로 구현될 수 있다.
센서(160)는 압력 센서(162)를 포함할 수 있다. 압력 센서(162)는 프로세서(110)의 제어에 의해, 디스플레이(130)에 대한 압력을 감지하고, 감지된 압력에 대한 정보를 프로세서(110)에 제공할 수 있다. 압력 센서(162)는 디스플레이(130)의 표시 영역 아래에 배치될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 지문 센서(161)는 디스플레이(130)의 디스플레이 패널의 백 플레인에 배치될 수 있다.

도 2를 참조하면, 디스플레이(130)는 고정된 형상을 가지는 디스플레이, 및/또는 폴더블(foldable) 디스플레이 또는 롤러블(rollable)(또는 슬라이더블(slidable)) 디스플레이와 같은 변형가능한(deformable) 디스플레이를 포함할 수 있다. 도 2 내에서 도시된 구성요소들, 그들의 관계들, 및 그들의 기능들은, 예시적일 뿐이며, 본 문서 내에서 설명되거나 청구된 구현들을 제한하는 것이 아니다.

인터페이스 컨트롤러(221)는 프로세서(110)(예: 디스플레이 컨트롤러(115))로부터 획득되는 이미지 데이터를 GRAM(225)에게 제공하고 프로세서(110)로부터 획득되는 커맨드를 커맨드 컨트롤러(223)에게 제공할 수 있다. 예를 들면, 인터페이스 컨트롤러(221)는 하나 이상의 인터페이스들(예: MIPI(mobile industry processor interface), MDDI(mobile display digital interface), SPI(serial peripheral interface), I2C(inter-integrated circuit), 및/또는 CDP(compact display port))을 위해 이용될 수 있다. 일 실시예에서, 상기 이미지 데이터는 GRAM(225) 내에 저장될 수 있다. 일 실시예에서, GRAM(225) 내에 상기 이미지 데이터를 저장하는 것은 우회될 수 있다. 상기 이미지 데이터를 저장하는 것이 우회되는 경우, 상기 이미지 데이터는 인터페이스 컨트롤러(221)를 통해 디스플레이 구동 회로(220) 내의 이미지 처리 회로(미도시) 또는 소스 드라이버(226)에게 제공될 수 있다.

GRAM 컨트롤러(224)는, 타이밍 컨트롤러(222)로부터 획득된 상기 동기 신호 및 커맨드 컨트롤러(223)로부터 획득된 상기 커맨드에 기반하여 GRAM(225) 내에 기록된 상기 이미지 데이터를 스캔함으로써, 상기 이미지 데이터를 소스 드라이버(226)에게 제공할 수 있다. 일 실시예에서, 상기 이미지 데이터는, 소스 드라이버(226)에게 제공되기 전, GRAM(225)과 소스 드라이버(226) 사이에 위치된 이미지 처리 회로(미도시)를 통해 커맨드 컨트롤러(223)로부터 상기 이미지 처리 회로에게 제공된 상기 커맨드에 기반하여, 처리될 수 있다.
소스 드라이버(226)는 상기 디스플레이 수직 동기 신호 및 상기 이미지 데이터에 기반하여, 상기 서브 픽셀들의 세트를 통해 색상을 제공할 수 있다. 예를 들면, 소스 드라이버(226)는 입력된 이미지 데이터에 대응하는 데이터 전압을 복수의 픽셀들에 제공할 수 있다.
일 예에 따르면, 소스 드라이버(226)는 감마 전압을 이용하여 이미지 데이터에 대응하는 데이터 전압(예: 아날로그 데이터 전압)을 생성할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 제1 감마 전압 생성 회로(228)는 타이밍 컨트롤러(222)의 제어에 의해, 감마 전압을 생성하고, 감마 전압을 소스 드라이버(226)로 제공할 수 있다. 소스 드라이버(226)는 타이밍 컨트롤러(222)의 제어에 의해, 감마 전압을 이용하여 픽셀의 그레이 레벨 값에 대응하는 데이터 전압을 생성할 수 있다. 감마 전압은 감마 값에 기초하여 설정될 수 있다. 같은 그레이 레벨이라도 감마 값에 따라 소스 드라이버(226)에 의해 생성되는 데이터 전압의 크기는 달라질 수 있다.
제2 감마 전압 생성 회로(229)는 타이밍 컨트롤러(222)의 제어에 의해, 감마 전압을 생성하고, 감마 전압을 소스 드라이버(226)로 제공할 수 있다. 감마 전압은 감마 값에 기초하여 설정될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 제2 감마 전압 생성 회로(229)에서 생성되는 감마 전압은 디스플레이(130)의 지문 인식 영역에서 출력되는 빛(또는 플래시 라이트)의 밝기를 지문을 획득하기 위한 밝기(예: 650nit)로 변경(또는 조정)하기 위해 이용될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 소스 드라이버(226)는 소스 드라이버(226)는 타이밍 컨트롤러(222)의 제어에 의해, 상기 감마 전압을 이용하여 지문 인식 영역에 대응하는 픽셀들에서 출력되는 빛의 밝기가 지문을 획득하기 위한 밝기가 되도록 하는 데이터 전압을 생성하고, 생성된 데이터 전압을 지문 인식 영역에 대응하는 픽셀들에 인가할 수 있다.

한편, 이상에서 설명된 다양한 실시 예들은 소프트웨어(software), 하드웨어(hardware) 또는 이들의 조합을 이용하여 컴퓨터(computer) 또는 이와 유사한 장치로 읽을 수 있는 기록 매체 내에서 구현될 수 있다. 일부 경우에 있어 본 명세서에서 설명되는 실시 예들이 프로세서 자체로 구현될 수 있다. 소프트웨어적인 구현에 의하면, 본 명세서에서 설명되는 절차 및 기능과 같은 실시 예들은 별도의 소프트웨어 모듈들로 구현될 수 있다. 소프트웨어 모듈들 각각은 본 명세서에서 설명되는 하나 이상의 기능 및 동작을 수행할 수 있다.
한편, 상술한 본 개시의 다양한 실시 예들에 따른 전자 장치의 프로세싱 동작을 수행하기 위한 컴퓨터 명령어(computer instructions)는 비일시적 컴퓨터 판독 가능 매체(non-transitory computer-readable medium) 에 저장될 수 있다. 이러한 비일시적 컴퓨터 판독 가능 매체에 저장된 컴퓨터 명령어는 특정 기기의 프로세서에 의해 실행되었을 때 상술한 다양한 실시 예에 따른 전자 장치에서의 처리 동작을 특정 기기가 수행하도록 한다.
비일시적 컴퓨터 판독 가능 매체란 레지스터, 캐쉬, 메모리 등과 같이 짧은 순간 동안 데이터를 저장하는 매체가 아니라 반영구적으로 데이터를 저장하며, 기기에 의해 판독(reading)이 가능한 매체를 의미한다. 비일시적 컴퓨터 판독 가능 매체의 구체적인 예로는, CD, DVD, 하드 디스크, 블루레이 디스크, USB, 메모리카드, ROM 등이 있을 수 있다.
이상에서는 본 개시의 바람직한 실시 예에 대하여 도시하고 설명하였지만, 본 개시는 상술한 특정의 실시 예에 한정되지 아니하며, 청구범위에서 청구하는 본 개시의 요지를 벗어남이 없이 당해 개시에 속하는 기술분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진자에 의해 다양한 변형실시가 가능한 것은 물론이고, 이러한 변형실시들은 본 개시의 기술적 사상이나 전망으로부터 개별적으로 이해되어져서는 안될 것이다.
Claims (14)
- 전자 장치(100)에 있어서,디스플레이(130);지문을 획득하기 위한 상기 디스플레이의 특정 영역의 아래에 배치된 지문 센서(161);인스트럭션들을 저장하는 메모리(120); 및적어도 하나의 프로세서(110)를 포함하고,상기 인스트럭션들은, 상기 적어도 하나의 프로세서에 의해 개별적으로(individually) 또는 집합적(collectively)으로 실행될 때, 상기 전자 장치가,사용자의 지문을 이용하여 상기 사용자를 인증하기 위한 이벤트의 발생을 감지하고,상기 감지에 기초하여, 디스플레이 구동 모드를 제1 모드에서, 상기 특정 영역에 인디케이터(indicator)를 포함하며 상기 지문을 획득하기 위한 화면을 표시하는 제2 모드로 변경하고,상기 인디케이터에 대한 상기 사용자의 터치 입력이 수신되면, 상기 제2 모드에서 상기 디스플레이에 의해 상기 특정 영역에서 출력되는 빛에 기초하여 상기 지문 센서를 통해 지문 정보를 획득하고,상기 지문 정보에 기초하여 상기 사용자를 인증하고,상기 인증이 성공한 것에 기초하여, 상기 디스플레이 구동 모드를 상기 제2 모드에서 상기 제1 모드로 변경하고,상기 인증이 실패한 것에 기초하여, 상기 지문을 획득하기 위한 상기 화면을 표시하는 동안 상기 디스플레이 구동 모드를 상기 제2 모드로 유지하여, 상기 디스플레이가 상기 디스플레이 구동 모드의 변경 없이 상기 제2 모드에서 상기 특정 영역에서 빛을 출력하도록 하고,상기 디스플레이는 상기 제1 모드에서 한 프레임 동안 제1 듀티비에 기초하여 구동되고, 상기 제2 모드에서 한 프레임 동안 상기 제1 듀티비와 다른 제2 듀티비에 기초하여 구동되는, 전자 장치.

- 제1항 내지 제6항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 인스트럭션들은, 상기 적어도 하나의 프로세서에 의해 개별적으로 또는 집합적으로 실행될 때, 상기 전자 장치가,상기 인증이 실패한 후 상기 유지된 제2 모드에서 상기 특정 영역에 대한 상기 사용자의 터치 입력이 수신되면, 상기 디스플레이에 의해 상기 특정 영역에서 출력되는 빛에 기초하여 상기 지문 센서를 통해 지문 정보를 획득하고,상기 지문 정보에 기초하여 상기 사용자를 재인증하고,상기 재인증이 성공한 것에 기초하여, 상기 디스플레이 구동 모드를 상기 제2 모드에서 상기 제1 모드로 변경하도록 하는, 전자 장치.
