Abstract
본 발명의 일 실시예를 따르는 배터리 셀은, 제1 전극 및 제2 전극과 이들 사이에 개재된 분리막이 권취 축을 중심으로 권취된 전극 조립체로서, 제1 전극은 권취 방향을 따라 장변 단부에 활물질 층이 코팅되어 있지 않으며 분리막의 외부로 노출된 제1 무지부를 포함하고, 제1 무지부의 적어도 일부는 그 자체로서 전극 탭으로서 사용되는 전극 조립체, 일 측에 개방부를 포함하고 개방부를 통해 전극 조립체를 수용하도록 구성되는 배터리 하우징, 배터리 하우징의 개방부의 반대 측에 위치하는 면을 통과하도록 구성된 셀 단자 및 전극 조립체의 일 측에 배치되며 제1 무지부와 용접 결합되도록 구성된 제1 무지부 결합부, 제1 무지부 결합부와 이격되어 위치하며 셀 단자와 용접 결합되도록 구성된 단자 결합부 및 제1 무지부 결합부와 단자 결합부 사이에 구비된 연결 영역으로서, 원주 방향으로 일정 간격 이격되며 반경 방향의 내측을 향해 볼록한 형태를 갖는 복수의 슬릿이 구비된 연결 영역을 포함하는 집전체를 포함한다.
Description
본 발명은 집전체 및 이를 포함하는 배터리 셀, 배터리 팩 및 자동차에 관한 것이다.
본 출원은 2024년 06월 26일 자로 출원된 한국 특허출원번호 제 10-2024-0083964 호 및 2025년 03월 06일 자로 출원된 한국 특허출원번호 제 10-2025-0029163 호에 대한 우선권주장출원으로서, 해당 출원의 명세서 및 도면에 개시된 모든 내용은 인용에 의해 본 출원에 원용된다.
제품 군에 따른 적용 용이성이 높고, 높은 에너지 밀도 등의 전기적 특성을 가지는 이차 전지는 휴대용 기기뿐만 아니라 전기적 구동원에 의하여 구동하는 전기차량(EV, Electric Vehicle) 또는 하이브리드 차량(HEV, Hybrid Electric Vehicle) 등에 보편적으로 응용되고 있다. 이러한 이차 전지는 화석 연료의 사용을 획기적으로 감소시킬 수 있다는 일차적인 장점뿐만 아니라 에너지의 사용에 따른 부산물이 전혀 발생되지 않는다는 장점 또한 갖기 때문에 친환경 및 에너지 효율성 제고를 위한 새로운 에너지원으로 주목 받고 있다.
현재 널리 사용되는 이차 전지의 종류에는 리튬 이온 전지, 리튬 폴리머 전지, 니켈 카드뮴 전지, 니켈 수소 전지, 니켈 아연 전지 등이 있다. 이러한 단위 이차 전지 셀, 즉, 단위 배터리 셀의 작동 전압은 약 2.5V ~ 4.5V이다. 따라서, 이보다 더 높은 출력 전압이 요구될 경우, 복수 개의 배터리 셀을 직렬로 연결하여 배터리 팩을 구성하기도 한다. 또한, 배터리 팩에 요구되는 충방전 용량에 따라 다수의 배터리 셀을 병렬 연결하여 배터리 팩을 구성하기도 한다. 따라서, 상기 배터리 팩에 포함되는 배터리 셀의 개수는 요구되는 출력 전압 및/또는 충방전 용량에 따라 다양하게 설정될 수 있다.
한편, 종래의 원통형 배터리에 포함되는 양극 집전판 구조는 양극 지부 용접부와 단자 용접부 간의 유동성 확보를 위해 집전판의 테두리 측으로 전류 통로를 설계하였다. 이에 따라 전류 통로 길이가 길어졌으며 이는 배터리 내부 저항을 높이는 문제점이 있었다.
본 발명은 본 발명에서는 곡선 형태의 슬릿 구조를 통해 저저항 구조를 갖는 배터리 셀을 제공하는 것을 일 목적으로 한다.
또한, 본 발명은, 복수의 슬릿을 포함하는 집전체 구조를 통해 권취 축 방향의 유동성을 확보하는 것을 다른 목적으로 한다.
나아가, 본 발명은, 집전체와 무지부 사이의 용접 면적을 일정 수준 이상 확보하는 것을 또 다른 목적으로 한다.
다만, 본 발명이 해결하고자 하는 기술적 과제는 상술한 과제에 제한되지 않으며, 언급되지 않은 또 다른 과제들은 아래에 기재된 발명의 설명으로부터 통상의 기술자에게 명확하게 이해될 수 있을 것이다.
상술한 과제를 해결하기 위한 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 배터리 셀은, 제1 전극 및 제2 전극과 이들 사이에 개재된 분리막이 권취 축을 중심으로 권취되어 코어와 외주면을 정의한 전극 조립체로서, 상기 제1 전극은 권취 방향을 따라 장변 단부에 활물질 층이 코팅되어 있지 않으며 상기 분리막의 외부로 노출된 제1 무지부를 포함하고, 상기 제1 무지부의 적어도 일부는 그 자체로서 전극 탭으로서 사용되는 전극 조립체; 일 측에 개방부를 포함하고 상기 개방부를 통해 상기 전극 조립체를 수용하도록 구성되는 배터리 하우징; 상기 배터리 하우징의 상기 개방부의 반대 측에 위치하는 면을 통과하도록 구성된 셀 단자; 및 상기 전극 조립체의 일 측에 배치되며 상기 제1 무지부와 용접 결합되도록 구성된 제1 무지부 결합부, 상기 제1 무지부 결합부와 이격되어 위치하며 상기 셀 단자와 용접 결합되도록 구성된 단자 결합부 및 상기 제1 무지부 결합부와 상기 단자 결합부 사이에 구비된 연결 영역으로서, 원주 방향으로 일정 간격 이격되며 반경 방향의 내측을 향해 볼록한 형태를 갖는 복수의 슬릿이 구비된 연결 영역을 포함하는 집전체를 포함한다.
본 발명의 일 측면에서, 상기 제1 무지부 결합부는 원주 방향을 따라 일정한 간격을 두고 이격 배치되도록 구성될 수 있다.
본 발명의 다른 측면에서, 상기 제1 무지부 결합부는 소정 두께를 갖는 링 형태의 영역을 형성할 수 있다.
본 발명의 또 다른 측면에서, 상기 슬릿은, 일 단부로부터 상기 단자 결합부를 향하는 방향으로 연장된 제1 라인; 및 상기 제1 라인으로부터 상기 제1 무지부 결합부를 향하는 방향으로 연장된 제2 라인을 포함할 수 있다.
바람직하게, 상기 슬릿은, 상기 제1 라인과 상기 제2 라인이 만나는 지점에서 연장 방향이 전환되도록 구성될 수 있다.
예를 들어, 상기 슬릿은, 상기 제1 라인과 상기 제2 라인이 만나는 지점에서 반경 방향의 내측을 향해 볼록한 형태를 갖도록 구성될 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 측면에서, 상기 슬릿의 일 단부는, 상기 집전체의 중앙을 중심으로 하는 가상의 제1 동심원을 지나도록 구성될 수 있다.
본 발명의 다른 측면에서, 상기 제1 라인과 상기 제2 라인이 만나는 지점은, 상기 집전체의 중앙을 중심으로 하며 상기 제1 동심원보다 작은 반경을 갖는 가상의 제2 동심원을 지나도록 구성될 수 있다.
본 발명의 또 다른 측면에서, 상기 슬릿의 타 단부는, 상기 집전체의 중앙을 중심으로 하며 상기 제1 동심원보다 큰 반경을 갖는 가상의 제3 동심원을 지나도록 구성될 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 측면에서, 상기 제1 동심원은, 상기 단자 결합부와 상기 연결 영역의 경계 지점과 일치하도록 구성될 수 있다.
본 발명의 다른 측면에서, 상기 제3 동심원은, 상기 제1 무지부 결합부와 상기 연결 영역의 경계 지점과 일치하도록 구성될 수 있다.
본 발명의 또 다른 측면에서, 상기 연결 영역은, 제1 슬릿 및 상기 제1 슬릿과 소정 간격 이격된 제2 슬릿을 포함하고, 상기 제1 슬릿과 상기 제2 슬릿 사이의 영역에 구비된 브릿지부를 포함할 수 있다.
한편, 본 발명은, 배터리 팩으로서, 전술한 실시예에 따른 적어도 하나의 배터리 셀; 및 복수의 상기 배터리 셀을 수용하는 팩 하우징을 포함하는 배터리 팩을 제공한다.
아울러, 본 발명은, 자동차로서, 전술한 실시예에 따른 적어도 하나의 배터리 팩을 포함하는 자동차를 제공한다.
한편, 본 발명은, 제1 무지부 및 제2 무지부를 구비하는 전극 조립체, 일 측에 형성된 개구부를 통해 상기 전극 조립체를 수용하며 상기 제2 무지부와 전기적으로 연결되는 배터리 하우징 및 상기 제1 무지부와 전기적으로 연결되는 셀 단자를 포함하는 배터리 셀에 적용되는 집전체로서, 상기 전극 조립체의 일 측에 배치되며 상기 제1 무지부와 용접 결합되도록 구성된 제1 무지부 결합부; 상기 제1 무지부 결합부와 이격되어 위치하며 상기 셀 단자와 용접 결합되도록 구성된 단자 결합부; 및 상기 제1 무지부 결합부와 상기 단자 결합부 사이에 구비된 연결 영역으로서, 원주 방향으로 일정 간격 이격되며 반경 방향의 내측을 향해 볼록한 형태를 갖는 복수의 슬릿이 구비된 연결 영역을 포함하는 집전체를 제공한다.
본 발명에 의하면, 저저항 구조를 갖는 배터리 셀을 제공할 수 있다.
또한, 본 발명에 의하면, 집전체의 권취 축 방향 유동성을 확보할 수 있다.
나아가, 본 발명에 의하면, 집전체와 무지부 사이의 용접 면적을 일정 수준 이상 확보할 수 있다. 이에 따라, 용접 품질을 향상시킬 수 있다.
다만, 본 발명을 통해 얻을 수 있는 효과는 상술한 효과들에 제한되지 않으며, 언급되지 않은 또 다른 기술적인 효과들은 아래에 기재된 발명의 설명으로부터 통상의 기술자에게 명확하게 이해될 수 있을 것이다.
본 명세서에 첨부되는 다음의 도면들은 본 발명의 바람직한 실시예를 예시하는 것이며, 후술되는 발명의 상세한 설명과 함께 본 발명의 기술 사상을 더욱 이해시키는 역할을 하는 것이므로, 본 발명은 그러한 도면에 기재된 사항에만 한정되어 해석되어서는 아니된다.

이하, 첨부된 도면을 참조하여 본 발명의 바람직한 실시예를 상세히 설명하기로 한다. 이에 앞서, 본 명세서 및 청구범위에 사용된 용어나 단어는 통상적이거나 사전적인 의미로 한정해서 해석되어서는 아니 되며, 발명자는 그 자신의 발명을 가장 최선의 방법으로 설명하기 위해 용어의 개념을 적절하게 정의할 수 있다는 원칙에 입각하여 본 발명의 기술적 사상에 부합하는 의미와 개념으로 해석되어야만 한다. 따라서, 본 명세서에 기재된 실시예와 도면에 도시된 구성은 본 발명의 가장 바람직한 일부 실시예에 불과할 뿐이고 본 발명의 기술적 사상을 모두 대변하는 것은 아니므로, 본 출원시점에 있어서 이들을 대체할 수 있는 다양한 균등물과 변형예들이 있을 수 있음을 이해하여야 한다.

설명의 편의상 본 명세서에서 젤리롤 형태로 감기는 전극 조립체(10)의 권취축의 길이 방향을 따르는 방향을 축 방향이라 지칭한다. 그리고 상기 권취축을 둘러싸는 방향을 원주방향 또는 둘레 방향이라 지칭한다. 그리고 상기 권취축에 가까워지거나 권취축으로부터 멀어지는 방향을 반경 방향이라 지칭한다. 이들 중 특히 권취축에 가까워지는 방향을 구심 방향, 권취축으로부터 멀어지는 방향을 원심 방향이라 지칭한다.

도 1 및 도 2을 참조하면, 본 발명의 일 실싱에 따른 배터리 셀(1)은 전극 조립체(10), 배터리 하우징(20), 셀 단자(30) 및 집전체(40)를 포함한다. 상기 배터리 셀(1)은, 상술한 구성요소들 이 외에도 추가적으로 절연 가스켓(G2) 및/또는 인슐레이터(50)를 더 포함할 수 있다.
도 2를 참조하면, 상기 전극 조립체(10)는, 제1 극성을 갖는 제1 전극, 제2 극성을 갖는 제2 전극 및 제1 전극과 제2 전극 사이에 개재되는 분리막을 포함한다. 상기 제1 전극은 양극 또는 음극이고, 제2 전극은 제1 전극과 반대되는 극성을 갖는 전극에 해당한다.
상기 전극 조립체(10)는, 예를 들어 젤리-롤(jelly-roll) 구조를 가질 수 있다. 즉, 상기 전극 조립체(10)는, 쉬트 형상을 가진 제1 전극판 및 제2 전극판을 그 사이에 분리막을 개재시킨 상태로 적어도 1회 적층하여 형성된 적층체를 권취 중심부(C)를 기준으로 하여 일 방향으로 권취시킴으로써 제조될 수 있다. 이 경우, 상기 전극 조립체(10)의 외주면 상에는 배터리 하우징(20)과의 절연을 위해 추가적인 분리막이 구비될 수 있다. 당업계에서 알려진 젤리롤 구조라면 본 발명에 제한 없이 적용 가능하다.
상기 제1 전극은, 제1 전극판 및 제1 전극판의 일 면 또는 양 면 상에 도포된 제1 전극 활물질을 포함한다. 상기 제1 전극판의 폭 방향(Z축에 나란한 방향) 일 측 단부에는 제1 전극 활물질이 도포되지 않은 제1 무지부(11)가 존재한다. 제1 전극 탭으로서 기능하는 상기 제1 무지부(11)를 이하 제1 무지부(11)로 칭하기로 한다. 상기 제1 무지부(11)는, 배터리 하우징(20) 내에 수용된 전극 조립체(10)의 높이 방향(Z축에 나란한 방향) 상부에 구비된다. 즉, 상기 제1 전극판은, 장변 단부에 활물질 층이 코팅되어 있지 않으며 분리막의 외부로 노출된 제1 무지부(11)를 포함하고, 제1 무지부(11)의 일부는 그 자체로서 전극 탭으로서 사용되는 것이다. 상기 제1 무지부(11)는, 예를 들어 양극 탭일 수 있다.
한편, 상기 제1 무지부(11)의 적어도 일부는, 전극 조립체(10)의 권취 방향을 따라 분할된 복수의 분절편(11a)을 포함할 수 있다. 이 경우, 상기 복수의 분절편(11a)은, 전극 조립체(10)의 반경 방향을 따라 절곡될 수 있다. 절곡된 상기 복수의 분절편(11a)은, 여러 겹으로 중첩될 수 있다. 이 경우, 후술할 제1 무지부 결합부(41)는, 복수의 분절편(11a)이 여러 겹으로 중첩되어 있는 영역에 결합될 수 있다.
상기 제2 전극은, 제2 전극판 및 제2 전극판의 일 면 또는 양 면 상에 도포된 제2 전극 활물질을 포함한다. 상기 제2 전극판의 폭 방향(Z축에 나란한 방향) 타 측 단부에는 제2 전극 활물질이 도포되지 않은 무지부가 존재한다. 제2 전극 탭으로서 기능하는 상기 무지부를 이하 제2 무지부(12)로 칭하기로 한다. 상기 제2 무지부(12)는, 배터리 하우징(20) 내에 수용된 전극 조립체(10)의 높이 방향(Z축에 나란한 방향) 하부에 구비된다. 즉, 상기 제2 전극판은, 장변 단부에 활물질 층이 코팅되어 있지 않으며 분리막의 외부로 노출된 제2 무지부(12)를 포함하고, 제2 무지부(12)의 적어도 일부는 그 자체로서 전극 탭으로서 사용되는 것이다. 상기 제2 무지부(12)는, 예를 들어 음극 탭일 수 있다.
한편, 상기 제2 무지부(12)의 적어도 일부는, 전극 조립체(10)의 권취 방향을 따라 분할된 복수의 분절편(11a)을 포함할 수 있다. 이 경우, 상기 복수의 분절편(11a)은, 전극 조립체(10)의 반경 방향을 따라 절곡될 수 있다. 절곡된 상기 복수의 분절편(11a)은, 여러 겹으로 중첩될 수 있다. 이 경우, 제2 집전체는, 복수의 분절편(11a)이 여러 겹으로 중첩되어 있는 영역에 결합될 수 있다.
상기 제1 무지부(11) 및 제2 무지부(12)는, 배터리 셀(1)의 높이 방향(Z축에 나란한 방향)을 따라 서로 반대 방향으로 연장된다. 상기 제1 무지부(11)는, 배터리 하우징(20)의 폐쇄부를 향해 연장되며, 제2 무지부(12)는 배터리 하우징(20)의 개방부를 향해 연장된다.
본 발명에 있어서, 양극판에 코팅되는 양극 활물질과 음극판에 코팅되는 음극 활물질은 당업계에 공지된 활물질이라면 제한 없이 사용될 수 있다.
도 3은 도 1의 배터리 셀(1)에 포함된 전극 조립체(10), 셀 단자(30) 및 집전체(40)를 설명하기 위한 도면이다.
도 3을 참조하여, 상기 전극 조립체(10)의 구조를 좀 더 구체적으로 설명하기로 한다. 이하의 설명에서는 앞서 설명한 바 있는 제1 전극 및 제2 전극 중 제1 전극을 예로 들어 설명을 하지만, 이러한 제1 전극의 구조는 제2 전극에도 동일하게 적용될 수 있다.
바람직하게, 상기 제1 무지부(11)는, 노칭 가공된 복수의 분절편(11a)을 포함할 수 있다. 복수의 분절편(11a)은 복수의 그룹을 이루며, 각 그룹에 속한 분절편(11a)들은 높이(Z방향 길이) 및/또는 폭(X 방향 길이) 및/또는 이격 피치가 실질적으로 동일할 수 있다. 각 그룹에 속한 분절편(11a)들의 수는 도시된 것보다 증가 또는 감소될 수 있다.
무지부(11, 12)는 전극 조립체(10)의 반경 방향을 따라, 예를 들어 외주측으로부터 코어측으로 절곡될 수 있다. 무지부(11, 12)가 절곡될 때, 반경 방향으로 인접하고 있는 분절편(11a)들이 여러 겹으로 중첩되면서 전극 조립체(10)의 상부와 하부에 절곡 면이 형성된다.
도 1 및 도 2를 참조하면, 상기 배터리 하우징(20)은, 일 측에 개방부를 포함하고 상기 개방부를 통해 상기 전극 조립체(10)를 수용하도록 구성될 수 있다.
구체적으로, 상기 배터리 하우징(20)은 하방에 개방부가 형성된 대략 원통형의 수용체로서, 예를 들어 금속과 같은 도전성을 갖는 재질로 이루어진다. 상기 배터리 하우징(20)의 재질로는, 예를 들어 철(steel) 또는 스테인리스 스틸(stainless steel) 또는 니켈이 도금된 철 등이 적용될 수 있다. 상기 개방부의 반대편에 위치하는 상면을 폐쇄부라고 칭하기로 한다. 상기 배터리 하우징(20)의 측벽부와 폐쇄부는 일체로 형성될 수 있다. 이와는 달리, 상기 배터리 하우징(20)의 측벽부와 폐쇄부는 서로 개별적으로 구비되어 용접 등에 의해 상호 결합될 수도 있다. 상기 배터리 하우징(20)의 상면(X-Y 평면에 나란한 면), 즉 폐쇄부의 외부면(20a)은 대략 플랫(flat)한 형태를 가질 수 있다. 상기 배터리 하우징(20)은, 하방에 형성된 개방부를 통해 전극 조립체(10)를 수용하며, 전해질도 함께 수용한다.
상기 배터리 하우징(20)은, 전극 조립체(10)와 전기적으로 연결된다. 상기 배터리 하우징(20)은, 예를 들어 전극 조립체(10)의 제2 무지부(12)와 전기적으로 연결된다. 이 경우, 상기 배터리 하우징(20)은, 제2 무지부(12)와 동일한 극성을 갖는다.
도 1 내지 도 3을 참조하면, 상기 셀 단자(30)는, 전도성을 갖는 금속 재질로 이루어진다. 상기 셀 단자(30)의 재질로는, 예를 들어 알루미늄(Al)이 이용될 수 있다. 상기 셀 단자(30)의 재질이 알루미늄인 경우 리벳 가공 시에 가공이 용이해질 수 있다. 셀 단자(30)에는 전기 저항이 비교적 낮은 10계열의 알루미늄이 적용될 수 있다.
상기 셀 단자(30)는 배터리 하우징(20)의 상면, 즉 배터리 하우징(20)의 개방부의 반대 측에 위치하는 면(X-Y 평면에 나란한 면)을 통과한다. 상기 셀 단자(30)는, 예를 들어 전극 조립체(10)의 제1 무지부(11)와 전기적으로 연결된다. 이 경우, 상기 셀 단자(30)는 제1 극성을 갖는다. 따라서, 상기 셀 단자(30)는, 본 발명의 배터리 셀(1)에 있어서 제1 전극 단자로서 기능할 수 있다.
상기 셀 단자(30)가 이처럼 제1 극성을 갖는 경우, 셀 단자(30)는 제2 극성을 갖는 배터리 하우징(20)과는 전기적으로 절연된다. 상기 셀 단자(30)와 배터리 하우징(20) 간의 전기적 절연은, 다양한 방식으로 실현될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 상기 셀 단자(30)와 배터리 하우징(20) 사이에 절연 가스켓(G2)을 개재시킴으로써 절연을 실현할 수 있다. 이와는 달리, 상기 셀 단자(30)의 일부에 절연성 코팅층을 형성시킴으로써 절연을 실현할 수 있다. 또는, 상기 셀 단자(30)와 배터리 하우징(20)의 접촉이 불가능하도록 셀 단자(30)를 구조적으로 단단히 고정시키는 방식을 적용할 수도 있다. 또는, 앞서 설명한 방식들 중 복수의 방식을 함께 적용할 수도 있다. 상기 셀 단자(30)는, 배터리 하우징(20)의 페쇄부 상에 리벳(rivet) 결합될 수 있다.
도 2 및 도 3을 참조하면, 상기 셀 단자(30) 중심 영역의 바닥면과 집전체(40) 간의 결합은, 예를 들어 레이저 용접, 스폿 용접 또는 초음파 용접에 의해 이루어질 수 있다.
상기 용접은, 전극 조립체(10)의 권취 중심부(C)에 형성된 홀을 통해 레이저를 조사하거나 또는 초음파 용접이나 스폿 용접을 위한 도구를 삽입하여 집전체(40)의 일 면(전극 조립체(10)의 권취 중심부(C)에 형성된 홀을 향하는 면) 상에 용접 비드를 형성함으로써 이루어질 수 있다.
이와 같은 구조에 의하면, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 배터리 셀(1)은, 급속 충전에 따른 많은 양의 전류가 흐르는 경우에 있어서, 집전체(40)와 셀 단자(30)의 결합 부위에서 원활한 전류 흐름을 보장할 수 있으며, 이로써 충전 시간의 단축, 발열량의 감소 등의 효과를 가져올 수 있다.
한편, 상기 절연 가스켓(G2)은, 상기 배터리 하우징(20)의 폐쇄부의 외부면(20a)과 셀 단자(30) 사이에 개재될 수 있다. 상기 절연 가스켓(G2)은, 예를 들어 절연성 및 탄성을 갖는 수지 재질로 이루어질 수 있다. 따라서, 상기 절연 가스켓(G2)은, 배터리 하우징(20)과 셀 단자(30) 사이를 전기적으로 절연시킬 수 있다.
도 4는 종래의 집전체를 설명하기 위한 도면이다.
도 4를 참조하면, 종래의 집전체는, 제1 무지부 결합부(41)와 단자 결합부(42)가 집전체(40)의 테두리부를 경유하여 브릿지부(43B)를 지나 간접적으로 연결된다. 즉, 전류는 제1 무지부 결합부(41)로부터 테두리부를 경유하여 브릿지부(43B)를 지나 단자 결합부(42)로 흐른다.
이와 같은 구조에 의하면, 전류 패스(Path)가 집전체의 외측을 통해 구성되므로 그 길이가 길어진다. 그 결과, 전지 내부 저항이 증가하게 된다. 또한, 상기와 같은 구조에 의하면, 제1 무지부(11)와의 결합 가능 면적이 협소하고 제한적이다. 따라서, 종래의 집전체에 의하면, 제1 무지부(11)와 집전체(40) 사이의 용접 면적이 제한적이므로 내부 저항의 증가를 피하기 어려운 문제점이 있었다.
도 5는 본 발명의 일 실시 형태를 따르는 집전체(40)를 설명하기 위한 도면이고, 도 6은 본 발명의 다른 실시 형태를 따르는 집전체(40)를 설명하기 위한 도면이다. 도 7은 본 발명의 또 다른 실시 형태를 따르는 집전체(40)를 설명하기 위한 도면이다.
도 3 및 도 5 내지 도 7을 참조하면, 상기 집전체(40)는, 전극 조립체(10)의 상부에 결합된다. 상기 집전체(40)는, 도전성을 갖는 금속 재질로 이루어지며, 제1 무지부(11)와 연결된다. 보다 구체적으로, 상기 집전체(40)는, 전극 조립체(10)의 상부에 용접 결합될 수 있다. 상기 집전체(40)는, 전도성을 갖는 금속 재질로 이루어진다. 상기 집전체(40)의 재질로는, 예를 들어 알루미늄(Al)이 이용될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 상기 집전체(40)는 Al1100-H14 재질을 포함할 수 있다. 상기 집전체(40)는, 전극 조립체(10)의 제1 무지부(11)와 셀 단자(30)를 전기적으로 연결시킨다.
상기 집전체(40)는, 제1 무지부(11)의 단부가 집전체(40)와 나란한 방향으로 절곡되어 형성된 결합 면(절곡 면) 상에 용접 결합될 수 있다. 상기 제1 무지부(11)의 절곡 방향은, 전극 조립체(10)의 반경 방향일 수 있다. 상기 제1 무지부(11)의 절곡 방향은, 예를 들어 전극 조립체(10)의 권취 중심부(C)를 향하는 방향일 수 있다. 상기 제1 무지부(11)가 이처럼 절곡된 형태를 갖는 경우, 제1 무지부(11)가 차지하는 공간이 축소되어 에너지 밀도의 향상을 가져올 수 있다. 또한, 상기 제1 무지부(11)와 집전체(40) 간의 결합 면적의 증가로 인해 결합력 향상 및 접촉 저항 감소 효과를 가져올 수 있다.
다시 도 3을 참조하면, 상기 제1 무지부(11) 및/또는 제2 무지부(12)의 적어도 일부는, 전극 조립체(10)의 권취 방향을 따라 분할된 복수의 분절편(11a)을 포함할 수 있다. 이 경우, 상기 복수의 분절편(11a)은, 전극 조립체(10)의 반경 방향을 따라 절곡될 수 있다. 절곡된 상기 복수의 분절편(11a)은, 여러 겹으로 중첩될 수 있다. 이 경우, 후술할 집전체(40)의 제1 무지부 결합부(41)는, 복수의 분절편(11a)이 여러 겹으로 중첩되어 있는 영역에 결합될 수 있다.
다시 도 5 내지 도 7을 참조하면, 상기 집전체(40)는, 제1 무지부 결합부(41), 단자 결합부(42) 및 연결 영역(43)을 포함한다.
상기 제1 무지부 결합부(41)는, 전극 조립체(10)의 일 측에 배치될 수 있다. 예를 들어 도 2를 참조하면, 상기 제1 무지부 결합부(41)는, 상기 전극 조립체(10)의 축 방향 양 면 중, 제1 무지부(11)가 위치한 면 상에 결합될 수 있다.
상기 제1 무지부 결합부(41)는, 제1 무지부 결합부(41)로부터 내측으로 연장되며 제1 무지부(11)와 용접 결합된다. 이 때, 상기 제1 무지부 결합부(41)와 제1 무지부(11) 사이에는 용접부가 구비될 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 측면에서, 도 5를 참조하면, 상기 제1 무지부 결합부(41)는 원주 방향을 따라 일정한 간격을 두고 이격 배치되도록 구성될 수 있다. 상기 제1 무지부 결합부(41)는, 즉, 상기 제1 무지부 결합부(41)는 소정 두께를 갖는 링 형태의 영역 내에서 자유롭게 구비될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 도 5의 실시 형태에서는, 대략 직사각형 형태의 제1 무지부 결합부(41)가 약 45도 간격을 두고 복수 개로 배치된다.
본 발명의 다른 실시 형태로서, 도 6을 참조하면, 상기 제1 무지부 결합부(41)는 소정 두께를 갖는 링 형태의 영역을 형성할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 상기 집전체(40)가 대략 원판 형태로 구성되는 경우에 있어서, 상기 제1 무지부 결합부(41)는 대략 도넛 형상을 갖는 형태로 구성될 수 있다. 이 때, 용접은 도넛 형상을 갖는 영역에 연속적으로 수행될 수 있다.
바람직하게, 상기 제1 무지부 결합부(41)의 면적은 상기 집전체(40)의 전체 면적 대비 약 60~80% 이 되도록 구성될 수 있다. 보다 바람직하게, 상기 제1 무지부 결합부(41)의 면적은 상기 집전체(40)의 전체 면적 대비 약 75% 가 되도록 구성될 수 있다.
상기와 같은 구성에 의하면, 용접 면적이 일정 수준 이상으로 확보될 수 있다. 이에 따라, 제1 무지부(11)와 집전체(40) 사이의 용접 품질이 효과적으로 향상될 수 있다. 이에 따라, 배터리 셀(1) 내부 저항이 효과적으로 감소될 수 있다. 즉, 본 발명의 상기 구성에 의하면, 저저항 배터리 셀(1)을 구현할 수 있다.
본 발명의 다른 측면에서, 상기 단자 결합부(42)는, 제1 무지부 결합부(41)와 이격되어 위치할 수 있다. 구체적으로, 상기 단자 결합부(42)는, 제1 무지부 결합부(41)와 반경 방향으로 이격되어 위치할 수 있다. 바람직하게, 상기 단자 결합부(42)는 상기 제1 무지부 결합부(41)의 내측에 위치할 수 있다. 상기 단자 결합부(42)는, 상기 셀 단자(30)와 용접에 의해 결합될 수 있다. 상기 단자 결합부(42)는, 셀 단자(30)의 바닥면에 형성된 평탄부와의 결합을 위한 용접 면적의 확보를 위해, 셀 단자(30)의 바닥면에 형성되는 평탄부의 직경과 실질적으로 동일하거나 더 큰 직경을 가질 수 있다. 예를 들어, 상기 단자 결합부(42)는 상기 집전체(40)의 중앙을 중심으로 하고 소정 반경을 갖는 원 형태의 영역을 형성할 수 있다.
본 발명의 또 다른 측면에서, 상기 집전체(40)는 상기 제1 무지부 결합부(41)와 상기 단자 결합부(42) 사이에 구비된 연결 영역(43)을 포함할 수 있다.
도 6을 참조하면, 상기 연결 영역(43)은 소정 두께를 갖는 링 형태의 영역을 형성할 수 있다. 상기 집전체(40)가 대략 원판 형태로 구성되는 경우에 있어서, 상기 연결 영역(43)은 대략 도넛 형상을 갖는 형태로 구성될 수 있다. 이 때, 상기 연결 영역(43)은 상기 제1 무지부 결합부(41)보다 반경 방향으로 내측 영역에 구비될 수 있다. 동시에, 상기 연결 영역(43)의 반경 방향으로 내측 영역에는 단자 결합부(42)가 구비될 수 있다.
상기 제1 무지부 결합부(41) 및 상기 단자 결합부(42)는, 상기 연결 영역(43)에 의해 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 상기 제1 무지부 결합부(41) 및 상기 단자 결합부(42)는 상기 연결 영역(43)에 의해 간접적으로 연결될 수 있다. 이에 따라, 제1 무지부(11)는 집전체(40)를 통해 셀 단자(30)와 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 측면에서, 상기 연결 영역(43)은, 원주 방향으로 일정 간격 이격된 복수의 슬릿(S)을 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 상기 연결 영역(43)은 적어도 2개 내지 4개 또는 그 이상의 슬릿(S)을 포함할 수 있다. 이 때, 상기 복수의 슬릿(S)은, 상기 집전체(40)의 중앙을 중심으로 점대칭으로 배치될 수 있다.
본 발명의 다른 측면에서, 상기 슬릿(S)은 곡선 형태를 갖도록 구성될 수 있다. 바람직하게, 상기 슬릿(S)은 반경 방향의 내측을 향해 볼록한 형태를 갖도록 구성될 수 있다. 상기 슬릿(S)은 일 단부에서부터 타 단부까지 연속적으로 이어지도록 구성되며, 반경 방향의 내측 방향으로 볼록한 형태의 곡선으로 구성될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 도 5를 참조하면, 상기 슬릿(S)은 대략 S자 형상을 갖는 곡선으로서 구성될 수 있다.
이와 같은 구성에 의하면, 제1 무지부 결합부(41)와 단자 결합부(42) 사이의 전류 패스가 단축될 수 있다. 이에 따라, 전지 내부 저항을 효과적으로 감소시킬 수 있다. 즉, 본 발명에 의하면, 저저항 배터리 셀(1)의 구성이 가능하다. 또한, 상기 구성에 의하면, 연결 영역(43)이 상대적으로 좁은 경우에 있어서도, 복수의 슬릿(S)을 효과적으로 배치할 수 있다. 이에 따라, 집전체(40)의 설계 자유도가 향상될 수 있다. 동시에, 상기와 같은 구성에 의하면 슬릿(S)에 의해 집전체(40)의 총고 방향 유동성이 효과적으로 확보될 수 있다. 나아가, 상기 구조에 의하면, 제1 무지부 결합부(41)의 영역을 확대시킬 수 있다. 이에 따라, 제1 무지부와 집전체(40) 사이의 용접 품질이 향상되고 동시에 내부 저항을 추가적으로 감소시킬 수 있다.
본 발명의 또 다른 측면에서, 도 6을 참조하면, 상기 슬릿(S)은, 제1 라인(L1) 및 제2 라인(L2)을 포함할 수 있다. 상기 제1 라인(L1)은 일 단부로부터 상기 단자 결합부(42)를 향하는 방향으로 연장될 수 있다. 제1 라인(L1)은 직선 또는 곡선 형태로 구성될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 상기 제1 라인(L1)은 반경 방향의 내측을 향해 볼록한 곡선 형태로 구성될 수 있다.
상기 제2 라인(L2)은 상기 제1 라인(L1)으로부터 상기 제1 무지부 결합부(41)를 향하는 방향으로 연장될 수 있다. 상기 제2 라인(L2)은 직선 또는 곡선 형태로 구성될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 상기 제2 라인(L2)은 반경 방향의 외측을 향해 볼록한 곡선 형태로 구성될 수 있다.
바람직하게, 상기 슬릿(S)은, 상기 제1 라인(L1)과 상기 제2 라인(L2)이 만나는 지점에서 연장 방향이 전환되도록 구성될 수 있다. 상기 슬릿(S)은, 상기 제1 라인(L1)과 상기 제2 라인(L2)이 만나는 지점에서 꺾이도록 구성될 수 있다. 구체적으로, 도 6을 참조하면, 상기 슬릿(S)은, 상기 제1 라인(L1)과 상기 제2 라인(L2)이 만나는 지점에서 반경 방향의 내측을 향해 볼록한 형태를 갖도록 구성될 수 있다. 즉, 상기 슬릿(S)은 제1 라인(L1)과 제2 라인(L2)이 결합된 형상을 갖고, 상기 제1 라인(L1)과 상기 제2 라인(L2)은 서로 소정 각도를 이루며 결합된 형태를 가질 수 있다.
본 발명의 다른 측면에서, 도 6을 참조하면, 상기 집전체(40)의 중앙을 중심으로 하는 가상의 제1 동심원(C1)을 정의할 수 있다. 또한, 상기 집전체(40)의 중앙을 중심으로 하며 상기 제1 동심원(C1)보다 작은 반경을 갖는 가상의 제2 동심원(C2)을 정의할 수 있다. 또한, 상기 집전체(40)의 중앙을 중심으로 하며 상기 제1 동심원(C1)보다 큰 반경을 갖는 가상의 제3 동심원(C3)을 정의할 수 있다. 이 때, 상기 제2 동심원(C2)은, 연결 영역(43) 내에 포함될 수 있다.
다시 도 6을 참조하면, 상기 제1 동심원(C1)은 상기 단자 결합부(42)와 상기 연결 영역(43)의 경계 지점과 일치하도록 구성될 수 있다. 또는, 상기 제1 동심원(C1)은, 상기 연결 영역(43)의 내부에 포함되도록 구성될 수 있다. 본 발명의 다른 측면에서, 상기 제3 동심원(C3)은 상기 제1 무지부 결합부(41)와 상기 연결 영역(43)의 경계 지점과 일치하도록 구성될 수 있다. 또는, 상기 제3 동심원(C3)은 상기 연결 영역(43)의 내부에 포함되도록 구성될 수도 있다.
다시 도 6을 참조하면, 상기 슬릿(S)의 일 단부는, 상기 집전체(40)의 중앙을 중심으로 하는 가상의 제1 동심원(C1)을 지나도록 구성될 수 있다. 이 때, 상기 슬릿(S)의 일 단부는, 상기 연결 영역(43)의 범위 내에 포함될 수 있다. 한편, 상기 제1 라인(L1)과 상기 제2 라인(L2)이 만나는 지점은 가상의 제2 동심원(C2)을 지나도록 구성될 수 있다. 이 때, 상기 제1 라인(L1)과 상기 제2 라인(L2)이 만나는 지점은, 상기 연결 영역(43)의 범위 내에 포함될 수 있다. 한편, 상기 슬릿(S)의 타 단부는, 가상의 제3 동심원(C3)을 지나도록 구성될 수 있다. 이 때, 상기 슬릿(S)의 타 단부는, 상기 연결 영역(43)의 범위 내에 포함될 수 있다.
이와 같은 본 발명의 구조에 의하면, 연결 영역(43)이 상대적으로 좁은 경우에 있어서도, 복수의 슬릿(S)을 효과적으로 배치할 수 있다. 이에 따라, 집전체(40)의 설계 자유도가 향상될 수 있다. 동시에, 상기와 같은 구성에 의하면 슬릿(S)에 의해 집전체(40)의 총고 방향 유동성이 효과적으로 확보될 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 측면에서, 도 5를 참조하면, 상기 연결 영역(43)은, 제1 슬릿(S1) 및 상기 제1 슬릿(S1)과 소정 간격 이격된 제2 슬릿(S2)을 포함할 수 있다.
이 때, 상기 연결 영역(43)은, 인접한 두 슬릿(S) 사이의 영역에 구비된 브릿지부(43B)를 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 상기 제1 슬릿(S1)과 상기 제2 슬릿(S2) 사이의 영역에 구비된 브릿지부(43B)를 포함할 수 있다.
본 발명의 다른 측면에서, 상기 브릿지부(43B)는 전류 패스(path)를 형성할 수 있다. 다시 도 5를 참조하면, 전류는, 단자 결합부(42)로부터 상기 브릿지부(43B)를 따라 제1 무지부 결합부(41)로 흐를 수 있다. 즉, 상기 브릿지부(43B)는 상기 제1 무지부 결합부(41)와 상기 단자 결합부(42)를 연결하도록 구성될 수 있다.
바람직하게, 상기 브릿지부(43B)는 복수 개로 구비될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 복수의 브릿지부(43B) 각각은, 서로 인접하는 제1 슬릿(S1)과 제2 슬릿(S2)의 사이에 배치될 수 있다. 도 5를 참조하면, 상기 브릿지부(43B)는 상기 집전체(40)의 중심을 기준으로 약 180도 간격으로 배치될 수 있다. 이 경우, 상기 브릿지부(43B)는 2개로 구비될 수 있다. 이와 같은 실시 형태에서, 상기 브릿지부(43B)는 서로 마주보는 형태로 구성될 수 있다.
본 발명의 다른 실시 형태로서, 도 7과 같이, 상기 연결 영역(43)이 제1 슬릿(S1) 내지 상기 제4 슬릿(S4) 슬릿을 포함하는 경우에 있어서, 상기 브릿지부(43B)는 제1 슬릿(S1)과 상기 제2 슬릿(S2)의 사이, 제2 슬릿(S2)과 상기 제3 슬릿(S3)의 사이, 제3 슬릿(S3)과 상기 제4 슬릿(S4)의 사이, 제4 슬릿(S4)과 상기 제1 슬릿(S1)의 사이에 각각 구비될 수 있다.
도 6을 참조하면, 상기 집전체(40)는 제1 슬릿(S1), 상기 제1 슬릿(S1)과 소정 간격 이격된 제2 슬릿(S2) 및 상기 제2 슬릿(S2)과 소정 간격 이격된 제3 슬릿(S3)을 포함할 수 있다. 이 경우, 상기 제1 슬릿(S1), 제2 슬릿(S2) 및 제3 슬릿(S3)은 상기 집전체(40)의 중심을 기준으로 원주 방향을 따라 약 120도 간격으로 배치될 수 있다. 즉, 상기 제1 슬릿(S1), 제2 슬릿(S2) 및 제3 슬릿(S3)은 원주 방향으로 동일 간격으로 이격 배치될 수 있다. 이와 같은 실시 형태에 있어서, 브릿지부(43B)는 3개로 구비될 수 있다.
도 7을 참조하면, 상기 집전체(40)는 제1 슬릿(S1), 상기 제1 슬릿(S1)과 소정 간격 이격된 제2 슬릿(S2), 상기 제2 슬릿(S2)과 소정 간격 이격된 제3 슬릿(S3) 및 상기 제3 슬릿(S3)과 소정 간격 이격된 제4 슬릿(S4)을 포함할 수 있다. 이 경우, 상기 제1 슬릿(S1), 제2 슬릿(S2), 제3 슬릿(S3) 및 제4 슬릿(S4)은 상기 집전체(40)의 중심을 기준으로 원주 방향을 따라 약 90도 간격으로 배치될 수 있다. 즉, 상기 제1 슬릿(S1), 제2 슬릿(S2), 제3 슬릿(S3) 및 제4 슬릿(S4)은 원주 방향으로 동일 간격으로 이격 배치될 수 있다. 이와 같은 실시 형태에 있어서, 브릿지부(43B)는 4개로 구비될 수 있다.
이상과 같이 도 5 내지 도 7을 통해 본 발명의 실시 형태에 대해 설명하였지만, 본 발명의 슬릿(S)의 개수나 브릿지부(43B)의 개수가 이에 한정되지 않음은 물론이다.
도 8은 본 발명의 일 실시 형태를 따르는 집전체(40)가 전극 조립체(10)에 용접되는 형상을 설명하기 위한 도면이다.
이와 관련하여, 종래의 원통형 배터리의 경우, 전극 조립체(10)의 축 방향 높이 편차로 인해 집전체(40)와 셀 단자(30) 사이에 갭(gap)이 발생할 수 있다. 이와 같이 갭이 발생한 상태에서, 집전체(40)와 셀 단자(30)를 용접하게 되면 집전체(40)가 눌려지면서 용접부에 응력이 발생하게 된다. 결국, 이러한 응력으로 인한 용접부 손상 우려가 발생하게 된다.
그러나, 도 8에 나타난 본 발명의 집전체(40)에 복수의 슬릿(S)이 구비된 구성에 의하면, 상기 집전체(40)와 상기 셀 단자(30) 사이의 용접부 손상을 효과적으로 방지할 수 있다. 구체적으로, 상기 구성에 의하면, 전극 조립체(10)의 축 방향 높이 편차로 인해 집전체(40)와 셀 단자(30) 사이에 갭(gap)이 발생하더라도, 슬릿(S) 사이에 구비된 브릿지부(43B)가 권취 축 방향으로 연신될 수 있다. 보다 구체적으로, 단자 결합부(42)로부터 제1 무지부 결합부(41)까지 이르는 경로는 수평 방향, 즉, X, Y 두 "눰袖막* 간격이 있으므로 단자 결합부(42)가 총고 방향으로 이동 시 브릿지부(43B)에 두 방향으로 굽힘이 일어나 총고 방향의 유동성 확보가 가능해진다.
이에 따라, 상기 집전체(40)와 상기 셀 단자(30) 사이의 갭을 보상할 수 있다. 따라서, 본 발명에 의하면, 종래 집전체(40) 눌림에 의해 발생할 수 있던 응력을 분산시킴으로써, 상기 집전체(40)와 상기 셀 단자(30) 사이의 용접부에 발생하는 응력을 감소시킬 수 있다. 또한, 상기 갭에 의해 발생한 인장력을 효과적으로 감소시킬 수 있다. 또한, 이와 같은 구조에 의하면, 별도의 구조물 없이도, 집전체(40)의 연신 시 파손을 방지할 수 있다. 즉, 하나의 판재로 구성된 집전체(40)가 파손 없이 효과적으로 연신될 수 있다. 나아가, 본 발명에 의하면, 집전체(40) 생산 과정에서 생산 단가를 낮추고 생산 공정을 간소화할 수 있다.
한편, 다시 도 7을 참조하면, 상기 인슐레이터(50)는, 상기 제1 무지부(11)와 상기 배터리 하우징(20) 사이의 전기적 연결을 차단할 수 있다. 상기 인슐레이터(50)는, 상기 집전체(40)가 대향하는 상기 배터리 하우징(20)의 내부 면과 상기 집전체(40) 사이에 개재될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 상기 인슐레이터(50)는, 전극 조립체(10)의 일 측에 결합된 집전체(40)와 배터리 하우징(20)의 내측 면 사이에 구비될 수 있다. 구체적으로, 전극 조립체(10)의 일 측에 결합된 집전체(40)와 배터리 하우징(20)의 폐쇄부의 내측 면 사이에 구비될 수 있다. 상기 인슐레이터(50)는, 집전체(40)와 배터리 하우징(20) 사이의 접촉을 방지한다. 즉, 상기 인슐레이터(50)는, 상기 배터리 하우징(20) 내부에 수용되고, 상기 전극 조립체(10)의 적어도 일부를 커버하며, 상기 제1 무지부(11)와 상기 배터리 하우징(20) 사이의 전기적 연결을 차단하도록 구성된다. 따라서, 상기 인슐레이터(50)는 절연 성능을 갖는 재질로 이루어질 수 있다. 예를 들면, 상기 인슐레이터(50)는 절연 폴리머 재질을 포함할 수 있다.
도 9는 본 발명의 일 실시예를 따르는 배터리 셀(1)을 포함하는 배터리 팩을 설명하기 위한 도면이다.
도 9를 참조하면, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 배터리 팩(3)은, 상술한 바와 같은 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 복수의 배터리 셀(1)이 전기적으로 연결된 전지 집합체 및 이를 수용하는 팩 하우징(2)을 포함한다. 본 발명의 도면에서는, 도면 도시의 편의상 전기적 연결을 위한 버스바, 냉각 유닛, 전력 단자 등의 부품은 생략되었다. 또한, 상기 배터리 팩(3)은 다양한 구성요소, 이를테면, BMS, 팩 케이스, 릴레이, 전류 센서 등과 같은 본 발명의 출원 시점에 공지된 배터리 팩(3)의 구성요소 등을 더 포함할 수 있다.
도 10은 도 9의 배터리 팩(3)을 포함하는 자동차를 설명하기 위한 도면이다.
도 10을 참조하면, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 자동차(5)는, 예를 들어 전기 자동차, 하이브리드 자동차 또는 플러그인 하이브리드 자동차일 수 있으며, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 배터리 팩(3)을 포함한다. 상기 자동차(5)는, 4륜 자동차 및 2륜 자동차를 포함한다. 상기 자동차(5)는, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 배터리 팩(3)으로부터 전력을 공급 받아 동작한다. 또한, 본 발명에 따른 자동차(5)는, 이러한 배터리 셀(1)이나 배터리 팩(3) 이외에 자동차에 포함되는 다른 다양한 구성요소 등을 더 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 본 발명에 따른 자동차(5)는, 본 발명에 따른 배터리 셀(1) 이외에, 차체나 모터, ECU(electronic control unit) 등의 제어 장치 등을 더 포함할 수 있다.
한편, 본 명세서에서는 상, 하와 같은 방향을 나타내는 용어가 사용되었으나, 이러한 용어들은 설명의 편의를 위한 것일 뿐, 대상이 되는 사물의 위치나 관측자의 위치 등에 따라 달라질 수 있음은 본 발명의 통상의 기술자에게 자명하다.
이상에서 본 발명은 비록 한정된 실시예와 도면에 의해 설명되었으나, 본 발명은 이것에 의해 한정되지 않으며 본 발명이 속하는 기술분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자에 의해 본 발명의 기술사상과 아래에 기재될 특허청구범위의 균등범위 내에서 다양한 수정 및 변형이 가능함은 물론이다.

Claims (15)
- 제1 전극 및 제2 전극과 이들 사이에 개재된 분리막이 권취 축을 중심으로 권취되어 코어와 외주면을 정의한 전극 조립체로서, 상기 제1 전극은 권취 방향을 따라 장변 단부에 활물질 층이 코팅되어 있지 않으며 상기 분리막의 외부로 노출된 제1 무지부를 포함하고, 상기 제1 무지부의 적어도 일부는 그 자체로서 전극 탭으로서 사용되는 전극 조립체;일 측에 개방부를 포함하고 상기 개방부를 통해 상기 전극 조립체를 수용하도록 구성되는 배터리 하우징;상기 배터리 하우징의 상기 개방부의 반대 측에 위치하는 면을 통과하도록 구성된 셀 단자; 및상기 전극 조립체의 일 측에 배치되며 상기 제1 무지부와 용접 결합되도록 구성된 제1 무지부 결합부, 상기 제1 무지부 결합부와 이격되어 위치하며 상기 셀 단자와 용접 결합되도록 구성된 단자 결합부 및 상기 제1 무지부 결합부와 상기 단자 결합부 사이에 구비된 연결 영역으로서, 원주 방향으로 일정 간격 이격되며 반경 방향의 내측을 향해 볼록한 형태를 갖는 복수의 슬릿이 구비된 연결 영역을 포함하는 집전체를 포함하는 배터리 셀.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 제1 무지부 결합부는 원주 방향을 따라 일정한 간격을 두고 이격 배치되도록 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 셀.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 제1 무지부 결합부는 소정 두께를 갖는 링 형태의 영역을 형성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 셀.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 슬릿은,일 단부로부터 상기 단자 결합부를 향하는 방향으로 연장된 제1 라인; 및상기 제1 라인으로부터 상기 제1 무지부 결합부를 향하는 방향으로 연장된 제2 라인을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 셀.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,상기 슬릿은,상기 제1 라인과 상기 제2 라인이 만나는 지점에서 연장 방향이 전환되도록 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 셀.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,상기 슬릿은,상기 제1 라인과 상기 제2 라인이 만나는 지점에서 반경 방향의 내측을 향해 볼록한 형태를 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 셀.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,상기 슬릿의 일 단부는,상기 집전체의 중앙을 중심으로 하는 가상의 제1 동심원을 지나는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 셀.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 제1 라인과 상기 제2 라인이 만나는 지점은,상기 집전체의 중앙을 중심으로 하며 상기 제1 동심원보다 작은 반경을 갖는 가상의 제2 동심원을 지나는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 셀.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 슬릿의 타 단부는,상기 집전체의 중앙을 중심으로 하며 상기 제1 동심원보다 큰 반경을 갖는 가상의 제3 동심원을 지나는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 셀.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 제1 동심원은,상기 단자 결합부와 상기 연결 영역의 경계 지점과 일치하도록 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 셀.
- 제 9 항에 있어서,상기 제3 동심원은,상기 제1 무지부 결합부와 상기 연결 영역의 경계 지점과 일치하도록 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 셀.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 연결 영역은,제1 슬릿 및 상기 제1 슬릿과 소정 간격 이격된 제2 슬릿을 포함하고,상기 제1 슬릿과 상기 제2 슬릿 사이의 영역에 구비된 브릿지부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 배터리 셀.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 12 항 중 어느 한 항에 따른 배터리 셀; 및복수의 상기 배터리 셀을 수용하는 팩 하우징;을 포함하는 배터리 팩.
- 제 13 항에 따른 배터리 팩을 포함하는 자동차.
- 제1 무지부 및 제2 무지부를 구비하는 전극 조립체, 일 측에 형성된 개구부를 통해 상기 전극 조립체를 수용하며 상기 제2 무지부와 전기적으로 연결되는 배터리 하우징 및 상기 제1 무지부와 전기적으로 연결되는 셀 단자를 포함하는 배터리 셀에 적용되는 집전체로서,상기 전극 조립체의 일 측에 배치되며 상기 제1 무지부와 용접 결합되도록 구성된 제1 무지부 결합부;상기 제1 무지부 결합부와 이격되어 위치하며 상기 셀 단자와 용접 결합되도록 구성된 단자 결합부; 및상기 제1 무지부 결합부와 상기 단자 결합부 사이에 구비된 연결 영역으로서, 원주 방향으로 일정 간격 이격되며 반경 방향의 내측을 향해 볼록한 형태를 갖는 복수의 슬릿이 구비된 연결 영역을 포함하는 집전체.
