Description

COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR IMPARTING AN EXPERIENTIAL ATTRIBUTE
CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION

FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[002] Provided herein are compositions and methods including fragrance ingredients that impart an experiential attribute.
BACKGROUND
[003] The ability of odor to psychologically impact a subject is widely recognized, and there exists both market and consumer interest in using fragrance to elicit desirable responses. The use of fragrance ingredients that evoke a desired perception or sensation is key to producing such fragrances.
[004] An experiential sensation is a highly desirable perception that can be a valuable attribute for a fragrance. Therefore, fragrance ingredients capable of endowing a fragrance composition with an experiential attribute are needed.
[005] The compositions and methods provided herein address these and other needs in the art.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[006] In an aspect is provided a fragrance composition having an experiential attribute including oxacycloheptadec- 10-en-2-one and 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2, 2, 6, 6, 7,8,8- heptamethyl. In some embodiments, the oxacycloheptadec- 10-en-2-one is present at a concentration in a range of about 0.89 wt% to about 19.86 wt% of the total weight of the fragrance composition and the 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2,2,6,6,7,8,8-heptamethyl is present at a concentration in a range of about 0.045 wt% to about 1.97 wt% of the total weight of the fragrance composition. In some embodiments, the oxacycloheptadec- 10-en-2-one and 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2,2,6,6,7,8,8-heptamethyl are present at a ratio of 8:1 oxacycloheptadec- 10-en- 2-one to 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2,2,6,6,7,8,8-heptamethyl in the fragrance composition. In some embodiments, the fragrance composition includes at least two fragrance ingredients. In some embodiments, the fragrance composition is a sketch, an accord, or a full fragrance. [007] In an aspect is provided a consumer product including a fragrance composition described herein. In some embodiments, the consumer product is a cleaning product, home care product, fabric care product, personal care product, cosmetic product, or air care product.
[008] In another aspect is provided a method for producing a fragrance composition or a consumer product having an experiential attribute including formulating oxacycloheptadec- 10- en-2-one and 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2,2,6,6,7,8,8-heptamethyl into a fragrance composition or a consumer product. In some embodiments, the fragrance composition is a new fragrance composition. In some embodiments, the fragrance composition is an existing fragrance composition including one or more of oxacycloheptadec- 10-en-2-one and 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2, 2, 6, 6, 7, 8, 8-heptamethyl. In some embodiments, the fragrance composition is an existing fragrance composition that does not include one or more of oxacycloheptadec- 10-en-2- one and 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2, 2, 6, 6, 7, 8, 8-heptamethyl. In some embodiments, the oxacycloheptadec- lO-en-2-one is formulated into the fragrance composition or consumer product at a concentration in a range of about 0.89 wt% to about 19.86 wt% of the total weight of the fragrance composition or consumer product and the 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro- 2,2, 6, 6,7,8, 8-heptamethyl is formulated into the fragrance composition or consumer product at a concentration in a range of about 0.045 wt% to about 1.97 wt% of the total weight of the fragrance composition or consumer product. DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0012] The mammalian olfactory pathway is evolutionarily old neural circuitry that differs from canonical thalamocortical sensory pathways in that it forms direct and, in some cases, reciprocal connections with brain structures involved in emotion and memory. For example, olfactory sensory neurons present in the nose convey sensory information to the olfactory bulb, located in the forebrain, where they form synapses with projection neurons that directly or indirectly target limbic system structures, including the hippocampus and amygdala, which are related to memory and emotion. Thus, the sense of smell is uniquely positioned neuroanatomically to quickly and directly impact a subject psychologically. As such, there is significant interest in developing olfactory stimuli, e.g., fragrances, that can evoke desirable sensations and perceptions in a subject. An experiential sensation is a highly desirable perception with broad applicability.
[0013] An experiential sensation as used herein refers to perceptions including delightful sensory stimulation; a feeling of authenticity, uniqueness, and being upscale; an enhanced mood; and/or a feeling of excitement, e.g., excitement about life. In some cases, an experiential perception may be associated with a sensual experience. The ability to evoke such a perception is thus highly desirable, and may be useful in a variety of circumstances, including, but not limited to, when interacting with others and taking care of oneself. Fragrances having an experiential attribute, i.e., that evoke an experiential sensation in a subject upon olfactory exposure, therefore have broad utility.
[0014] Fragrances having an experiential attribute may be used alone or in combination with other products. When used in a consumer product, such as a personal care product, cleaning product, home care product, fabric care product, air care product, or cosmetic product, among others, the fragrance having an experiential attribute may enhance the subject’s sense of excitement, mood, authenticity, uniqueness, being upscale, and/or evoke a delightful stimulation of the subject’s senses when using the product. Further, others who encounter the fragrance having an experiential attribute will also perceive one or more of such sensations.
[0015] The production of fragrance compositions that reliably evoke an experiential sensation, however, is a difficult task. The total number of fragrance ingredients, fragrance ingredient combinations, and concentrations of fragrance ingredients, either alone or in combination, represents an exceptionally large olfactory space for consumer testing. Thus, data collected from consumer tests can be both large and non-uniform (e.g., fragrances tested and/or the concentrations of fragrances tested differ across consumer tests), which can hinder the derivation of meaningful information from wide consumer testing. As described herein, these difficulties were overcome to identify fragrance ingredient combinations and specific ratios and concentrations of such ingredients that reliably evoke an experiential sensation in subjects upon olfactory exposure.
[0016] The combinations of fragrance ingredients found to evoke an experiential sensation in a subject, as described herein, were identified using an association rule mining method, for example as described in international patent application WO2023/107564, which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety. [0017] The association rule mining method determined fragrance ingredient combinations and concentration and ratio ranges of the ingredients that when present in a fragrance increased the likelihood of evoking an experiential sensation in a subject. The lower and upper bounds of the concentration ranges for the fragrance ingredient combinations were determined by identifying the lowest and highest concentrations of each fragrance ingredient that when present in combination, e.g., within a tested consumer fragrance, evoked an experiential sensation. See, e.g., Section 111. Thus, the association rule includes a range of concentrations for each fragrance ingredient contained in the rule. In some embodiments, if the concentration of each fragrance ingredient included in an association rule is expressed as a range, the ratio of the fragrance ingredients may be expressed as a range of ratios. In some embodiments, if the concentration of each fragrance ingredient included in an association rule is expressed as a range, the ratio of the fragrance ingredients may be expressed as the ratio of the mean (average) concentrations of each fragrance ingredient.
[0018] Use of the ingredient combinations, for example within the determined concentration ranges and ratios, in a fragrance composition or consumer product increased the number of subjects who found the composition or product to evoke an experiential sensation. See, e.g., Section III. Thus, provided herein are compositions, e.g., fragrance compositions and consumer products, that contain combinations of fragrance ingredients that evoke an experiential sensation. Fragrance compositions and/or consumer products including the combinations of fragrance ingredients that evoke an experiential sensation are referred to as having an experiential attribute. Also provided are methods for producing and using such compositions.
[0019] The compositions and methods described herein are advantageous in that they provide an olfactory means of evoking an experiential sensation in a subject. The compositions provided herein are specifically designed to evoke the experiential sensation in a subject and are thus referred to as having an experiential attribute. Such compositions may be used alone or in combination with other products or strategies to promote a subject’s experiential sensation.

I. COMPOSITIONS IMPARTING AN EXPERIENTIAL ATTRIBUTE
[0032] Provided herein are compositions and consumer products including combinations of ingredients that evoke an experiential sensation in a subject. The combinations of ingredients that evoke an experiential sensation in a subject impart an experiential attribute to the fragrance composition and/or consumer product. Therefore, fragrance compositions and consumer products having an experiential attribute elicit an experiential sensation in a subject. Thus, in an aspect is provided a fragrance composition having an experiential attribute. In another aspect is provided a consumer product including a fragrance composition having an experiential attribute.
[0033] In some embodiments, an experiential sensation includes a delightful sensory stimulation; a feeling of authenticity, uniqueness, and being upscale; an enhanced mood; a feeling of excitement; and/or a sensual feeling. A delightful sensory stimulation; a feeling of authenticity, uniqueness, and being upscale; an enhanced mood; a feeling of excitement; and a sensual feeling may be detected and/or measured using, for example, declarative measures, such as questionnaires (see, e.g., Section III). In some embodiments, the questionnaire may require a subject to rank the intensity of the experiential sensation evoked by the fragrance. In some embodiments, the questionnaire may require a subject to state whether the fragrance could be described as “sensual.” In some embodiments, the questionnaire may require a subject to rank the intensity of the sensation evoked by the fragrance. In some embodiments, the questionnaire may require a subject to select from a series of proposition descriptors one or more descriptors that best describe the sensation evoked by the fragrance. Thus, in some embodiments, the experiential sensation includes one or more of a delightful sensory stimulation; a feeling of authenticity, uniqueness, and being upscale; an enhanced mood; a feeling of excitement; or a sensual feeling. A. Fragrance Compositions
[0034] It was surprisingly found that certain combinations of fragrance ingredients could evoke an experiential sensation in a broad (e.g., multi-country) group of subjects. See, e.g., Section III below. These combinations were identified using association rule mining methods, see, e.g., WO2023/107564, which further determined the concentrations and ratios at which the identified ingredients could be combined to increase the likelihood of a subject experiencing an experiential sensation from olfactory exposure. The presence of the ingredient combinations in full fragrances contained in consumer products resulted in an increased number of subjects identifying the fragrance as having an experiential attribute. See, e.g., Section III. Thus, in an aspect is provided a fragrance composition that evokes an experiential sensation including a fragrance ingredient combination determined to evoke an experiential sensation.
[0035] In some embodiments, the fragrance ingredient combination that evokes an experiential sensation is oxacycloheptadec- 10-en-2-one and 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2, 2, 6, 6, 7,8,8- heptamethyl. B. Consumer Products
[0042] As described above, an experiential sensation is a desirable perception to deliver during a variety of activities and circumstances and, as such, has utility in a wide range of products, e.g., cleaning products, personal care products, home care products, air care products, fabric care products, cosmetic products, etc. Thus, in an aspect is provided a consumer product including a fragrance composition as described herein (see, Section I- A). In some embodiments, the consumer product contains a fragrance composition having an experiential attribute including oxacycloheptadec- 10-en-2-one and 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2, 2, 6, 6, 7,8,8- heptamethyl. In some embodiments, the oxacycloheptadec- 10-en-2-one and 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2,2,6,6,7,8,8-heptamethyl are present in the fragrance composition at a concentration in the range of concentrations or at a ratio in the range of ratios described in Section I- A. In some embodiments, the consumer product contains a fragrance composition having an experiential attribute including any one or more ingredient combinations that impart an experiential attribute described herein. In some embodiments, the consumer product contains a fragrance composition having an experiential attribute including any combination of the ingredient combinations within the specific concentration ranges and/or ratio ranges described in Section I-A.
[0043] The fragrance compositions having an experiential attribute as described herein are widely applicable to any perfumery product, including perfumes and colognes, the perfuming of personal care products such as soaps, shower gels, and hair care products, fabric care products, air fresheners, and cosmetic preparations. In some embodiments, fragrance compositions having an experiential attribute provided herein are used to perfume cleaning agents, such as, but not limited to, detergents, dishwashing materials, scrubbing compositions, window cleaners and the like. In these preparations, fragrance compositions having an experiential attribute can be used alone or in combination with other perfuming compositions, solvents, adjuvants, and the like. The nature and variety of the other ingredients that can also be employed are known to those with skill in the art. Many types of additional fragrances can be employed so long as the fragrance is complementary (i.e., compatible) with the other components being employed.
[0044] The fragrance compositions having an experiential attribute provided herein may be well- suited for use in a variety of consumer products and can be used as a neat fragrance formulation or may be encapsulated and/or delivered using a suitable carrier material. Some well-known materials include, for example, polymers, oligomers, other non-polymers such as surfactants, emulsifiers, lipids including fats, waxes and phospholipids, organic oils, mineral oils, petrolatum, natural oils, perfume fixatives, fibers, starches, sugars, and solid surface materials such as zeolite and silica.
[0045] Also provided are consumer products containing a fragrance composition having an experiential attribute. In some embodiments, the consumer product is a cleaning product, home care product, fabric care product, personal care product, air care product, and/or cosmetic product. Consumer products may include, for example, perfumes, colognes, bar soaps, liquid soaps, shower gels, foam baths, cosmetics, skin care products such as creams, lotions and shaving products, hair care products for shampooing, rinsing, conditioning, bleaching, coloring, dyeing and styling, deodorants and antiperspirants, feminine care products such as tampons and feminine napkins, baby care products such as diapers, bibs and wipes, family care products such as bath tissues, facial tissues, paper handkerchiefs or paper towels, fabric products such as fabric softeners and fresheners, air care products such as air fresheners and fragrance delivery systems, cosmetic preparations, cleaning agents and disinfectants such as detergents, dishwashing materials, scrubbing compositions, glass and metal cleaners such as window cleaners, countertop cleaners, floor and carpet cleaners, toilet cleaners and bleach additives, washing agents such as all-purpose, heavy duty, and hand washing or fine fabric washing agents including laundry detergents and rinse additives, dental and oral hygiene products such as toothpastes, tooth gels, dental flosses, denture cleansers, denture adhesives, dentifrices, tooth whitening and mouthwashes, health care and nutritional products. In some embodiments, the consumer product is a shampoo and/or hair conditioner. In some embodiments, the consumer product is a bar soap or liquid soap. In some embodiments, the consumer product is a fabric cleaner. In some embodiments, the consumer product is a laundry detergent. In some embodiments, the consumer product is a cleaning product. [0046] In an aspect is provided a method of evoking an experiential sensation in a subject, including delivering a fragrance composition described herein or a consumer product described herein to a subject. In some embodiments, the delivering occurs by the subject using the fragrance composition or consumer product. For example, in some cases, the subject may use, such as, but not limited to, apply, spray, wash, or otherwise engage as applicable, a fragrance composition or consumer product having an experiential attribute, which will evoke an experiential sensation in the subject. Thus, in some embodiments, the delivering occurs by a purposeful or active use of the fragrance composition or consumer product having an experiential attribute. In some embodiments, the delivering occurs by a subject encountering the fragrance composition or consumer product having the experiential attribute without using the product. For example, a subject who comes into contact with another person who has used, e.g., applied, washed, sprayed, or otherwise engaged as applicable, a fragrance composition or consumer product having an experiential attribute and the encounter evokes the experiential sensation in the subject. As another example, a subject who comes into contact with an object or area where a fragrance composition or consumer product having an experiential attribute was used, e.g., applied, washed, sprayed, or otherwise engaged as applicable, and the encounter evokes the experiential sensation in the subject. Thus, in some embodiments, the delivering occurs by a passive interaction with the fragrance composition or consumer product having an experiential attribute.
[0047] In an aspect is provided use of a fragrance composition having an experiential attribute described herein, or consumer products described herein, to evoke an experiential sensation in a subject. IL METHODS FOR PRODUCING A FRAGRANCE HAVING AN
EXPERIENTIAL ATTRIBUTE
[0048] Also provided herein are methods for producing a fragrance composition or a consumer product having an experiential attribute, including formulating oxacycloheptadec- 10-en-2-one and 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2,2,6,6,7,8,8-heptamethyl into a fragrance composition or consumer product. In some embodiments, the formulating includes adding one or more ingredients, reducing one or more ingredients, or any combination thereof to a fragrance composition to impart the experiential attribute. In some embodiments, the fragrance ingredient combination may be directly formulated into a consumer product. In some embodiments, a fragrance composition containing a fragrance ingredient combination that evokes the experiential sensation may be directly formulated into a consumer product.
[0049] In some embodiments, the method includes formulating an ingredient combination described herein into a new fragrance composition. By a new fragrance composition is meant a fragrance that does not currently exist. Therefore, a new fragrance composition may be specifically designed to have an experiential attribute. In these cases, the method includes selecting the fragrance ingredient combination that evokes an experiential sensation to be formulated into the new fragrance.
[0050] In some embodiments, the method includes formulating the ingredient combinations into an existing fragrance composition. In some embodiments, the fragrance ingredient combination is added into the fragrance composition because the ingredients of the combination are not present in the existing fragrance. In some embodiments, only one of the fragrance ingredients of the combination is added to the existing fragrance composition. For example, the existing fragrance composition may originally include one of the fragrance ingredients of the combination, and thus, to deliver the experiential sensation, the other fragrance ingredient of the combination is added to the existing fragrance. In some embodiments, one fragrance ingredient of the combination of ingredients that evokes an experiential sensation is newly added to the fragrance composition and the other fragrance ingredient of the combination is reduced in the fragrance composition because although it is present in the fragrance composition it must be reduced to achieve the concentrations or ratio needed to evoke the experiential sensation.
[0051] In some embodiments, the method includes formulating the ingredient combinations into an existing fragrance composition where the ingredient combination is present but not at concentrations and/or at a ratio that evokes an experiential sensation. Thus, in some embodiments, the fragrance ingredients of a combination are, independently, added into or reduced in the existing fragrance composition to bring the ingredients into a concentration range or ratio range that evokes an experiential sensation. In some embodiments, both ingredients are added to increase the concentration of the ingredients in the fragrance composition. In some embodiments, both ingredients are reduced in the composition to decrease the concentration of the ingredients in the fragrance composition. In some embodiments, one ingredient is reduced in the composition to decrease the concentration of the ingredient in the fragrance composition and the other is added to increase the concentration of the ingredient in the fragrance composition. In some embodiments, no change is made to one of the ingredients of the combination and the other ingredient is added or reduced in the composition. In these cases, the formulation brings the fragrance ingredient combination into the ratio and/or concentration range that delivers the experiential sensation.
EXEMPLARY EMBODIMENTS
[0052] Among the provided embodiments are:
1. A fragrance composition having an experiential attribute comprising oxacycloheptadec- 10-en- 2-one and 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2,2,6,6,7,8,8-heptamethyl.
2. The fragrance composition of embodiment 1, wherein the oxacycloheptadec- 10-en-2-one is present at a concentration in a range of about 0.89 wt% to about 19.86 wt% of the total weight of the fragrance composition and the 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2, 2, 6, 6, 7, 8, 8-heptamethyl is present at a concentration in a range of about 0.045 wt% to about 1.97 wt% of the total weight of the fragrance composition.
3. The fragrance composition of embodiment 1 or embodiment 2, wherein the oxacycloheptadec - 10-en-2-one and 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2,2,6,6,7, 8, 8-heptamethyl are present at a ratio of 8: 1 oxacycloheptadec- 10-en-2-one to 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2, 2, 6, 6, 7,8,8- heptamethyl in the fragrance composition.
4. The fragrance composition of any one of embodiments 1-3, wherein the fragrance composition comprises at least two fragrance ingredients.
5. The fragrance composition of any one of embodiments 1-4, wherein the fragrance composition is a sketch, an accord, or a full fragrance.
6. A consumer product comprising a fragrance composition of any one of embodiments 1-5.
7. The consumer product of embodiment 6, wherein the consumer product is a cleaning product, home care product, fabric care product, personal care product, cosmetic product, or air care product.
8. A method for producing a fragrance composition or a consumer product having an experiential attribute comprising formulating oxacycloheptadec- 10-en-2-one and 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2, 2, 6, 6, 7, 8, 8-heptamethyl into a fragrance composition or a consumer product. 9. The method of embodiment 8, wherein the fragrance composition is a new fragrance composition.
10. The method of embodiment 8, wherein the fragrance composition is an existing fragrance composition comprising one or more of oxacycloheptadec- lO-en-2-one and 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2,2,6,6,7,8,8-heptamethyl.
11. The method of any one of embodiments 8- 10, wherein the fragrance composition is an existing fragrance composition that does not comprise one or more of oxacycloheptadec- 10-en-2-one and 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2,2,6,6,7,8,8-heptamethyl.
12. The method of any one of embodiments 8-11, wherein the oxacycloheptadec- lO-en-2-one is formulated into the fragrance composition or consumer product at a concentration in a range of about 0.89 wt% to about 19.86 wt% of the total weight of the fragrance composition and the 2H- indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2,2,6,6,7,8,8-heptamethyl is formulated into the fragrance composition or consumer product at a concentration in a range of about 0.045 wt% to about 1.97 wt% of the total weight of the fragrance composition or consumer product.
13. The method of any one of embodiments 8-12, wherein the oxacycloheptadec- 10-en-2-one and 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2,2,6,6,7,8,8-heptamethyl are formulated into the fragrance composition or consumer product at a ratio of 8:1 oxacycloheptadec- lO-en-2-one to 2H- indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2,2,6,6,7,8,8-heptamethyl.
14. A method of evoking an experiential sensation in a subject, comprising delivering a fragrance composition of any one of embodiments 1-5 or a consumer product of embodiment 6 or embodiment 7 to a subject.
15. Use of a fragrance composition according to any one of embodiments 1-5 or a consumer product according to embodiment 6 or embodiment 7 to evoke an experiential sensation in a subject.
III. EXAMPLES
[0053] The following examples are included for illustrative purposes only and are not intended to limit the scope of the invention.
Example 1: Determination of fragranee ingredients that evoke an experiential sensation in consumers.
[0054] Ninety fragrances, each containing 20 to 25 fragrance ingredients at known concentrations, were prepared. The fragrances were assessed using two test product applications: (1) a blind sniff test in beads wrapped into a dry towel for fabric care; and (2) a blind sniff test in dilution for body care. [0055] In each of Brazil, China, the United Kingdom, France, and the United States, a panel of 100 female consumers (18-65 years of age) were presented with the 90 fragrances for testing over three sessions, i.e., during one session the 100 consumers smelled 30 fragrances. The panelists were allowed to smell each formulation as many times as they wished during the evaluation session.
[0056] The panelists were each asked to group each of the 30 fragrances into 3-10 groups (with each fragrance being a member of only one group) based on how the fragrances smelled, i.e., grouping of fragrances perceived to be similar to each other. After the groups were created, the panelist was asked to describe the different groups using a questionnaire. Table El shows a portion of the questionnaire directed to quantifying a sense of experiential, as described by sensuality, evoked by the fragrances.

[0057] Panelists were also asked to select two proposition descriptors that best described the fragrance groupings. Table E2 shows the proposition descriptors encompassed by the concept of experiential which could be selected.

[0058] Panelist responses were collected in a database and paired accordingly with each tested fragrance, including the concentrations of each ingredient in the fragrance.
[0059] Association rule mining, as described in WO2023/107564, was used to identify fragrance ingredient combinations with an increased likelihood of having a sensual score of 8 or 9 and described by at least one phrase shown in Table E2. For simplicity, the term “Experiential” is used to describe all responses of interest.
[0060] Briefly, a two-part process was performed where the frequency of two ingredients and responses were first identified, and association rules were generated from the frequently identified pairs. The association rules were then evaluated for quality to ensure that the rules were reliable. Rules showing a level of support of at least 10% and a lift of at least 1.10 that further satisfied a permutation test were considered valid. The analysis yielded the rule shown in Table E3.

[0061] To further confirm the identified rule was reliable, all fragrances containing the rule that were tested for body care and fabric care in Brazil, China, the United Kingdom, France, and the United States were evaluated to determine the percentage of panelists that considered the fragrance to evoke a sensation of “Experiential.” Table E4 shows results for the rule.

[0062] These data support the ability of the determined fragrance ingredient combination to evoke an experiential sensation in a wide range of consumers.

Claims

CLAIMS What is claimed is:
1. A fragrance composition having an experiential attribute comprising oxacycloheptadec- 10-en-2-one and 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2,2,6,6,7,8,8-heptamethyl.
2. The fragrance composition of claim 1, wherein the oxacycloheptadec- 10-en-2-one is present at a concentration in a range of about 0.89 wt% to about 19.86 wt% of the total weight of the fragrance composition and the 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro- 2,2, 6, 6,7,8, 8-heptamethyl is present at a concentration in a range of about 0.045 wt% to about 1.97 wt% of the total weight of the fragrance composition.
3. The fragrance composition of claim 1 or claim 2, wherein the oxacycloheptadec- 10-en-2- one and 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2, 2, 6, 6, 7, 8, 8-heptamethyl are present at a ratio of 8:1 oxacycloheptadec-10-en-2-one to 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro- 2,2, 6, 6, 7, 8, 8-heptamethyl in the fragrance composition.
4. The fragrance composition of any one of claims 1-3, wherein the fragrance composition comprises at least two fragrance ingredients.
5. The fragrance composition of any one of claims 1-4, wherein the fragrance composition is a sketch, an accord, or a full fragrance.
6. A consumer product comprising a fragrance composition of any one of claims 1-5.
7. The consumer product of claim 6, wherein the consumer product is a cleaning product, home care product, fabric care product, personal care product, cosmetic product, or air care product.
8. A method for producing a fragrance composition or a consumer product having an experiential attribute comprising formulating oxacycloheptadec- lO-en-2-one and 2H- indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2, 2, 6, 6, 7, 8, 8-heptamethyl into a fragrance composition or a consumer product.
9. The method of claim 8, wherein the fragrance composition is a new fragrance composition.
10. The method of claim 8, wherein the fragrance composition is an existing fragrance composition comprising one or more of oxacycloheptadec- 10-en-2-one and 2H- indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2, 2, 6, 6, 7, 8, 8-heptamethyl.
11. The method of any one of claims 8-10, wherein the fragrance composition is an existing fragrance composition that does not comprise one or more of oxacycloheptadec- 10-en-2- one and 2H-indeno|4,5-bJ furan, decahydro-2,2,6,6,7,8,8-heptamethyl.
12. The method of any one of claims 8-11, wherein the oxacycloheptadec- 10-en-2-one is formulated into the fragrance composition or consumer product at a concentration in a range of about 0.89 wt% to about 19.86 wt% of the total weight of the fragrance composition or the consumer product and the 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro- 2,2, 6, 6,7,8, 8-heptamethyl is formulated into the fragrance composition or consumer product at a concentration in a range of about 0.045 wt% to about 1.97 wt% of the total weight of the fragrance composition or the consumer product.
13. The method of any one of claims 8-12, wherein the oxacycloheptadec- 10-en-2-one and 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2, 2, 6, 6, 7, 8, 8-heptamethyl are formulated into the fragrance composition or consumer product at a ratio of 8:1 oxacycloheptadec- 10-en-2- one to 2H-indeno[4,5-b] furan, decahydro-2, 2, 6, 6, 7, 8, 8-heptamethyl.
14. A method of evoking an experiential sensation in a subject, comprising delivering a fragrance composition of any one of claims 1 -5 or a consumer product of claim 6 or claim 7 to a subject.
15. Use of a fragrance composition according to any one of claims 1-5 or a consumer product according to claim 6 or claim 7 to evoke an experiential sensation in a subject.
