Definitions
- Hot stamping technology has come to be used as a method for press-forming difficult-to-form materials such as high-strength steel plates.
- Hot stamping technology is a hot forming technique in which the material to be formed is heated before being formed.
- the material is heated before being formed.
- the steel is soft during forming and has good formability. This allows even high-strength steel plates to be formed into complex shapes with high precision.
- the material is quenched at the same time as it is formed using a press die, so the steel part has sufficient strength after forming.
- Patent Document 1 discloses that hot stamping technology can impart a tensile strength of 1,400 MPa or more to steel components after forming.
- the deformability of steel components decreases as their strength increases. As a result, they may fracture early during a collision or in areas where deformation is concentrated, resulting in an inability to demonstrate crushing strength commensurate with the material's strength and insufficient energy absorption. Therefore, in order to improve automobile collision safety, the steel components used must not only have improved material strength, but also improved deformability. Therefore, in order to apply ultra-high-strength steel components such as hot-stamped bodies to vehicle bodies, technology is needed to provide steel components that have greater deformability than conventional components and can absorb sufficient energy during a collision.
- Patent Document 2 discloses a hot press-formed product that has excellent toughness and a tensile strength of 1.8 GPa or more.
- Patent Document 3 discloses a steel material having an extremely high tensile strength of 2.0 GPa or more, and further having good toughness and ductility.
- Patent Document 4 discloses a steel material having a high tensile strength of 1.8 GPa or more and also having good toughness.
- Patent Document 5 discloses a steel material having an extremely high tensile strength of 2.0 GPa or more and also having good toughness.
- This disclosure was made in consideration of the above-mentioned circumstances, and aims to provide a hot-stamped product with high strength and excellent deformability.

- the Vickers hardness is measured at five or more measurement points and the average value is calculated to obtain Hvs, the average Vickers hardness at a depth of 20 ⁇ m from the surface.
- the average Vickers hardness value at a position 1/4 of the plate thickness from the surface is measured at a position 1/4 of the plate thickness from the surface using the same method as for measuring Vickers hardness at a depth of 20 ⁇ m from the surface. Vickers hardness is measured at at least five measurement points at a position 1/4 of the plate thickness from the surface, and Hvi is obtained by calculating the average value.
- Vickers hardness gradient in the region from 20 ⁇ m deep to 60 ⁇ m deep from the surface 3.5 HV/ ⁇ m or less If the Vickers hardness gradient in the region from 20 ⁇ m deep to 60 ⁇ m deep from the surface exceeds 3.5 HV/ ⁇ m, fine cracks will occur at the boundary between the soft layer near the surface and the inner layer, degrading the deformability of the hot-stamped body. Therefore, the Vickers hardness gradient in the region from 20 ⁇ m deep to 60 ⁇ m deep from the surface is set to 3.5 HV/ ⁇ m or less.
- the Vickers hardness gradient in the region from 20 ⁇ m deep to 60 ⁇ m deep from the surface is preferably 3.2 HV/ ⁇ m or less, 3.0 HV/ ⁇ m or less, less than 2.5 HV/ ⁇ m, or less than 2.0 HV/ ⁇ m. If the Vickers hardness gradient is too low, fine cracks may occur in the vicinity of the surface layer during bending deformation, and the deformability of the hot-stamped body may deteriorate. Therefore, the Vickers hardness gradient in the region from a depth of 20 ⁇ m to a depth of 60 ⁇ m from the surface is preferably 1.0 HV/ ⁇ m or more, 1.2 HV/ ⁇ m or more, or 1.5 HV/ ⁇ m or more.
- the Vickers hardness gradient of the hot stamped body is measured by the following method. Similar to the method for measuring Vickers hardness at a depth of 20 ⁇ m from the surface, a test piece is cut out and polished, and then a Vickers hardness test is performed. The measurement points are located on a line (straight line) from the surface in the thickness direction (direction perpendicular to the surface), at a depth of 20 ⁇ m from the surface and at a depth of 60 ⁇ m from the surface. The difference between the Vickers hardness at a depth of 60 ⁇ m from the surface and the Vickers hardness at a depth of 20 ⁇ m from the surface is divided by the measurement distance (40 ⁇ m) to obtain the rate of change of Vickers hardness with respect to depth. The Vickers hardness is measured on at least five or more lines to determine the respective rate of change, and the average value is calculated to obtain the gradient of Vickers hardness in the region from a depth of 20 ⁇ m to a depth of 60 ⁇ m from the surface.
- Bs_max/Bi 0.75 or more
- Bs_max/Bi which is the ratio of Bs_max, the maximum value of the B concentration in the region from the surface to a depth of 10 ⁇ m from the surface, to Bi, the B concentration at a depth of 100 ⁇ m from the surface, is preferably 0.75 or more.
- Bs_max/Bi 0.80 or more. If Bs_max/Bi is too high, the productivity of the hot-stamped steel sheet is significantly impaired. Furthermore, the hardness distribution of the hot-stamped steel sheet may not be controlled appropriately. Therefore, it is preferable that Bs_max/Bi is less than 5.00 or less than 4.50.
- Bs_max which is the maximum value of the B concentration in the region from the surface of the hot-stamped body to a depth of 10 ⁇ m from the surface
- Bi which is the B concentration at a depth of 100 ⁇ m from the surface
- the measurement pitch is adjusted so that there are 1,200 to 1,800 measurement points from the surface of the steel sheet to a depth of 100 ⁇ m.
- the surface of the steel sheet is defined as the depth at which the Fe concentration first reaches 95% or more of the "Fe concentration at a depth of 100 ⁇ m from the measurement start surface.”
- the depth at which the Fe concentration first reaches 95% or more of the "Fe concentration at a depth of 100 ⁇ m from the measurement start surface” is defined as the interface between the coating layer and the steel sheet, i.e., the surface of the steel sheet.
- the surface of the steel sheet is similarly defined based on the Fe concentration at the measurement point closest to a depth of 100 ⁇ m from the measurement start surface. From the obtained measurement results, the maximum value of the B concentration in the region from the surface to a depth of 10 ⁇ m from the surface, and the B concentration at a depth of 100 ⁇ m from the surface are obtained, and the ratio of Bs_max to Bi is calculated. If there is no measurement point at a depth of 100 ⁇ m from the surface, the B concentration at the measurement point closest to a depth of 100 ⁇ m from the surface is taken as Bi. This measurement is carried out five times, changing the measurement location. The average value of the ratios of Bs_max to Bi obtained from the five measurements is calculated to obtain Bs_max/Bi.
- the metal structure of the steel sheet constituting the hot stamped steel is not particularly limited as long as the desired deformability can be obtained, but it is preferable that the steel sheet has the metal structure shown below.
- the steel sheet constituting the hot-stamped steel according to this embodiment preferably has a metallographic structure containing the following amounts of martensite. In the following description of the metallographic structure, "%" means “volume %.”
- the metal structure at a position from the surface to 1/4 of the plate thickness preferably contains martensite at a volume fraction of more than 90.0%. Since martensite is an effective structure for increasing the strength of the hot-stamped body, the volume fraction of martensite is preferably greater than 90.0%. If the volume fraction of martensite is 90.0% or less, the Vickers hardness (Hvi) of the inner layer portion of the hot-stamped body may be less than 615 HV, resulting in insufficient strength.
- the volume fraction of martensite is more preferably greater than 91.0%, greater than 93.0%, or greater than 95.0%. There is no need to particularly set an upper limit for the volume fraction of martensite.
- the volume fraction of martensite is 99.0% or less or 98.0% or less.
- the martensite includes not only fresh martensite that has not been tempered, but also tempered martensite that has been tempered and contains iron carbides therein.
- the remainder of the metal structure of the inner layer portion may contain ferrite, pearlite, bainite, or retained austenite, and may further contain precipitates such as cementite present alone or oxides. Since it is not necessary to contain ferrite, pearlite, bainite, retained austenite, and precipitates, the lower limits of the volume fractions of ferrite, pearlite, bainite, retained austenite, and precipitates are all 0%.
- Retained austenite has the effect of improving the ductility of the steel sheet after hot stamping.
- the volume fraction of retained austenite is preferably 0.5% or more, 1.0% or more, or 2.0% or more.
- excessively increasing the volume fraction of retained austenite requires austempering at high temperatures after hot stamping, which significantly reduces the productivity of the hot-stamped steel.
- excessive retained austenite may degrade the deformability of the hot-stamped steel. Therefore, it is preferable to set the volume fraction of retained austenite to less than 9.0%, less than 7.0%, less than 5.0%, or less than 4.0%.
- the volume fraction of each structure is measured by the following method.
- a test piece is taken from an arbitrary position at least 50 mm away from the end face of the hot-stamped body, and the cross section of the steel plate through the plate thickness is buffed. Thereafter, the structure is observed at a position 1/4 of the plate thickness from the surface (the observation region includes the position 1/4 of the plate thickness from the surface, and is acceptable as long as it is in the range of 1/8 to 3/8 of the plate thickness from the surface in the thickness direction).
- the polished surface is subjected to nital etching or electrolytic polishing, and then a structural photograph is taken using an optical microscope and a scanning electron microscope (SEM).
- the obtained structural photograph is subjected to image analysis based on brightness differences or differences in the morphology of iron carbides present in the phase, thereby obtaining the area ratios of ferrite, pearlite, bainite, tempered martensite, and precipitates.
- similar observation positions are subjected to Lepera etching, and then a structural photograph is taken using an optical microscope or a scanning electron microscope (SEM).
- the obtained structural photograph is subjected to image analysis to calculate the total area ratio of "retained austenite and fresh martensite.” Furthermore, after electrolytic polishing of the cross section of the plate thickness at the same observation position, the area fraction of the retained austenite is measured using an SEM equipped with an electron backscatter pattern analyzer (EBSP). The area fraction of the retained austenite is obtained by calculating the area fraction of the region having an fcc crystal structure from the crystal orientation information obtained by the EBSP analysis.
- EBSP electron backscatter pattern analyzer
- the area fraction of fresh martensite is obtained by subtracting the area fraction of retained austenite from the total area fraction of the above-mentioned "retained austenite and fresh martensite.” Based on these results, the area fractions of ferrite, pearlite, bainite, martensite (tempered martensite and fresh martensite), retained austenite, and precipitates are obtained. The area fractions are then considered to be equal to the volume fractions, and the obtained area fractions are regarded as the volume fractions of each structure.
- tempered martensite can be distinguished from fresh martensite by the presence of iron carbides within it. Tempered martensite can also be distinguished from bainite by the fact that the iron carbides present within it are elongated in multiple directions rather than in a single direction. Elongated in a single direction means that the difference in elongation direction is within 5°.
- the plate thickness of the hot-stamped product according to this embodiment is not particularly limited, but from the viewpoint of reducing the vehicle body weight, it is preferably 2.5 mm or less, 2.0 mm or less, 1.8 mm or less, or 1.6 mm or less. On the other hand, from the viewpoint of ensuring sufficient shock absorption, the plate thickness is preferably 0.4 mm or more, 0.6 mm or more, 0.8 mm or more, or 1.0 mm or more.
- the hot-stamped product according to this embodiment may have a plating layer on its surface. Having a plating layer on its surface can improve corrosion resistance after hot stamping.
- the plating layer may be formed on both sides or one side of the hot-stamped product.
- Examples of plating layers include an aluminum-based plating layer formed by hot stamping a steel sheet for hot stamping that has a hot-dip aluminum plating layer, a hot-dip aluminum-zinc alloy plating layer, a hot-dip aluminum-silicon alloy plating layer, or the like; and a zinc-based plating layer formed by hot stamping a steel sheet for hot stamping that has a hot-dip galvanized layer, an electrogalvanized layer, a galvannealed layer, a hot-dip zinc-aluminum alloy plating layer, an electrogalvanized-nickel alloy plating layer, or the like.
- the hot-stamped steel according to this embodiment can be produced by hot stamping a steel sheet for hot stamping that has been produced by a production method in which the pickling conditions after hot rolling and the annealing conditions after cold rolling are preferably controlled.
- a method for producing a steel sheet for hot stamping, which can produce a hot-stamped steel according to this embodiment will be described.
- Hot stamping steel sheet is manufactured by a manufacturing method including a hot rolling process in which a slab having the above-mentioned chemical composition is hot rolled to form a hot rolled steel sheet, a pickling process in which the hot rolled steel sheet is pickled, a cold rolling process in which the pickled hot rolled steel sheet is cold rolled to form a cold rolled steel sheet, and an annealing process in which the cold rolled steel sheet is annealed to form an annealed steel sheet.
- the heating temperature of the slab used for hot rolling there are no particular restrictions on the heating temperature of the slab used for hot rolling, but to prevent coarsening of austenite, it is preferable to set it to less than 1250°C, and more preferably less than 1200°C. Since rolling becomes difficult if the slab heating temperature is too low, the slab heating temperature may be 1050°C or higher.
- the heated slab is hot-rolled to obtain a hot-rolled steel sheet.
- the hot-rolling is preferably completed in a temperature range of Ar 3 point or higher in order to refine the metal structure of the hot-rolled steel sheet by transforming austenite after the rolling is completed.
- the coiling temperature is preferably less than 600° C. If the coiling temperature is 600° C. or higher, thermally stable iron carbides are formed, which may deteriorate the deformability of the hot-stamped steel sheet. Furthermore, an excessive internal oxide layer is formed, which may remain even after pickling, as described below, making it impossible to preferably control the hardness distribution and B concentration distribution of the hot-stamped steel sheet. On the other hand, if the coiling temperature is too low, the hot-rolled steel sheet becomes excessively hard, making it difficult to perform cold rolling. Therefore, the coiling temperature is preferably set to more than 400°C.
- the hot-rolled and coiled hot-rolled steel sheet is subjected to pickling.
- the pickling conditions are as follows: an aqueous solution of hydrogen chloride is used as the pickling bath, the hydrogen chloride concentration is preferably 5 mass% or more, the pickling temperature is preferably 60°C or more, and the pickling time is preferably 30 seconds or more.
- the internal oxide layer is appropriately removed, and the hardness distribution and B concentration distribution of the hot-stamped steel can be preferably controlled.
- the hydrogen chloride concentration is preferably 15 mass% or less
- the pickling temperature is preferably 95°C or less
- the pickling time is preferably 120 seconds or less.
- the hot-rolled steel sheet after pickling is cold-rolled according to a conventional method to obtain a cold-rolled steel sheet.
- the cumulative reduction in cold rolling is preferably 30% or more. If the cumulative reduction is less than 30%, the metal structure of the steel sheet for hot stamping may become coarse. If the metal structure of the steel sheet for hot stamping is coarse, the metal structure of the hot-stamped body will also become coarse after hot stamping, causing a decrease in the deformability of the body. On the other hand, an excessive increase in the cumulative reduction rate increases the load on the rolling equipment and causes a decrease in productivity, so the cumulative reduction rate is preferably less than 70%.
- treatment such as degreasing may be carried out in accordance with a conventional method.
- Annealing cold-rolled steel sheet produces annealed steel sheet.
- the surface layer of the steel sheet is appropriately decarburized by controlling the soaking temperature, soaking time, annealing atmosphere, and primary cooling conditions.
- Annealing conditions include a soaking temperature of preferably 730°C or higher and lower than 820°C, a soaking time of preferably 200 seconds or higher and lower than 400 seconds, and a dew point of the soaking atmosphere of preferably 0 to 20°C.
- the soaking atmosphere is preferably a nitrogen-hydrogen atmosphere containing 2% or higher and lower than 15% by volume of hydrogen.
- the soaking temperature is less than 730°C or more than 820°C, if the soaking time is less than 200 seconds, or if the dew point of the atmosphere during soaking is less than 0°C or more than 20°C, the amount of decarburization will be insufficient, and the hardness distribution of the hot-stamped product may not be able to be controlled favorably.
- the soaking temperature is 820°C or more, grain growth may cause the metal structure of the annealed steel sheet to coarsen, and the deformability of the hot-stamped product may decrease.
- the soaking time is 400 seconds or more, decarburization will be excessive, and the hardness distribution of the hot-stamped product may not be able to be controlled favorably.
- the dew point of the atmosphere during soaking is more than 20°C, the Fe in the surface layer of the steel sheet may oxidize, and the amount of decarburization may be insufficient.
- the primary cooling After holding at the soaking temperature, it is preferable to perform primary cooling to a temperature range of 650°C or less at an average cooling rate of 5°C/s or less.
- the dew point of the atmosphere during primary cooling is preferably -20°C or less.
- the average cooling rate is the temperature difference between the start and end points of the set range divided by the elapsed time from the start point to the end point.
- the annealed steel sheet produced by the above-mentioned method may be plated in accordance with conventional methods to produce plated steel sheet.
- the annealed steel sheet or plated steel sheet obtained in this manner may be temper rolled in accordance with conventional methods.
- the hot-stamped steel according to this embodiment can be obtained by a production method including a heating step of heating a steel sheet for hot stamping (annealed steel sheet or plated steel sheet) produced by the above-described method, and a hot stamping step of hot stamping the heated steel sheet for hot stamping.

- the Ac 1 point and Ac 3 point are calculated by the following formulas (1) and (2).
- Ac 1 (°C) 723 + 29.1 x Si - 10.7 x Mn + 16.9 x Cr + 16.9 x Ni + 6.38 x W + 290 x As... (1)
- Ac 3 (°C) 910-203 ⁇ C+44.7 ⁇ Si-30 ⁇ Mn+700 ⁇ P+400 ⁇ Al-11 ⁇ Cr+31.5 ⁇ Mo-15.2 ⁇ Ni-20 ⁇ Cu+400 ⁇ Ti+104 ⁇ V+13.1 ⁇ W+120 ⁇ As...(2)
- the element symbols indicate the content (mass%) of each element in the chemical composition of the steel sheet for hot stamping, and 0 is substituted when the element is not contained.
- the residence time in the temperature range from Ac 1 point to Ac 3 point to 30 seconds or more By setting the residence time in the temperature range from Ac 1 point to Ac 3 point to 30 seconds or more, the B concentration distribution in the surface layer of the hot-stamped material is improved, and the deformability of the hot-stamped material is further improved. If the maximum heating temperature is Ac 3 point or lower or less than 800°C, or if the holding time at the maximum heating temperature is 60 seconds or shorter, the volume fraction of martensite in the metal structure of the inner layer of the hot-stamped body may be insufficient, resulting in a decrease in the strength of the hot-stamped body.
- the maximum heating temperature is preferably less than 1050°C, and the holding time at the maximum heating temperature is preferably less than 600 seconds.
- the hot stamping process it is preferable to remove the heated steel sheet for hot stamping from the heating furnace and allow it to cool in the atmosphere, after which hot stamping begins in a temperature range above 750°C. If the starting temperature for hot stamping is below 750°C, excessive ferrite may form in the metal structure of the inner layer of the hot stamped body, which may reduce the strength of the hot stamped body. After forming by hot stamping, the hot stamped body is cooled while held in the die, and/or the hot stamped body is removed from the die and cooled by any method.
